I think console mode is made to work with nvidia's controller specifically. Have ypu tried just mirroring it in full screen mode?
Yeah but that defeats the purpose of having the screen off
Same issue here. Just have to enable six axis blindly through the tablet. I don't think there's a way around it right now. Even my Nvidia shield controller is doing the same. It turns off the Nvidia controller too. But luckily when I turn the controller on it auto connects. Unlike my ps3 controller. But regardless which I use, any open apps closes. Has to be a software fix at this point.
I haven't used a ps3 controller with mine but will the controller connect with the tablet at all when it is powered on or do you have to do that manually through the six axis app?
Sent from my One M8
You could use Gravitybox and add sixaxis controller in quick settings as an custom app. It makes it a lot easier to enable blindly at least
console mode shus down all background programs including the sixaxis service. Unless there is a way to keep it running even in console mode i dont think it is possible atm
My solution to this was to use an Harmony Smart Control remote.
Since it supports controlling Bluetooth devices, I had set it to work with the tablet.
This allowed me to control the tablet once in console mode and turn on six axis.
I imagine a Bluetooth keyboard or a usb one with an OTG cable would also do the trick.
So I got it to work by setting six axis to auto boot with the tablet before I went into console mode

Well with root, you could adjust the Android Task Manager parameters. ROM Toolbox has an option to ignore chosen apps when "multi killing running apps" for instance. It has a "keep alive" option as well. Might be worth playing around with it. It does look like there's a fair chance it wouldn't do anything though if that really is the case.
well?
Auto run the app with LLAMA
Have you guys tried using LLAMA, try setting it to launch the Sixaxis app when console mode launches or when the NVIDIA hub(im not sure on the name here.) opens up.
Make Sixaxis a systems app
Thread is a little old but for those like me looking for a solution I made sixaxis a system app ( plenty of options in the app store) and set it to auto launch in the preference menu. Once it launched into console mode I just reconnected my ps4 controller. Works a treat.
Guys, Sixaxis controller have an "AutoStart" option in settings. Just turn on it before go to console mode and Sixaxis Controller app turn on when console mode start.

A copy and paste of the what I posted on the Fpse forum since I thought people here might be interested.
I have an Asus Transformer, and a wireless PS3 controller via Sixaxis Controller app
After fiddling with Fpse for a couple of hours, here is my impression:
Menus are very buggy:
Most settings have trouble saving - took me 3 try tries to get Country - Europe to save, other settings are hit and miss
Controller input settings never save - Every time I load Fpse I have to re-input the controller settings under "Hardware keys"
- Please fix this!!!!
Controls are OK:
Once the controls are mapped, they work pretty much as expected
No analog emulation for digital keys = I can't play ape escape with my wireless PS3 controller, bummer.
Definitely needs analog emulation for digital key presses
I might be able to find a work around for the analog with Sixaxis Controller app, not sure. Still getting used to the app
Audio - Sometime great, sometimes not so great
The audio appears tied into the frame rate - if Frameskip is on, it also appears to skip the audio, resulting in choppy audio
When games run at full frame rate, the audio is pretty good.
Games seem to work just fine
Games appear to be working just as they should, nothing spectacular, nothing bad, which is a very good thing.
Performance seems a little slow, but that could be the Transformer not having enough CPU power, or Fpse.
This post may not seem negative, but it is really not. Any problems I didn't experience means they are not there, which means a lot of things work great. It's hard to find things that are working correctly, because if they are working correctly, you should never notice they are there. I also know this is a relatively new app, and Android is a new operating system. It takes time to get things to work correctly.
I am very satisfied with Fpse. But getting the menu to save the controller settings and adding analog emulation would go a long way to making even more satisfied and telling more people about Fpse (hint, hint). A playstation emulator without a proper control setup kills the fun outright.
I installed CM7 nightly 25 for my SGSII and installed the sixasis app, configured just fine with FPse and worked everytime I started it up again, remembered just fine.
Didn't test analog though.
I configured the control and then saved it as default under settings.
If you load a game that already has a config or save you need to re-enter the controls and save again as default, this will be for that game then...
after that it works fine
Hi ...
I was trying to use the sixasis, and I could use it fine on the phone...
The problem is that I cannot use it with FPse...
Anyone can help me about how to set it ?
Thanks
What specifically are you having problems with?
1) Connect the PS3 controller via sixaxis controller app
2) Configure the PS3 controller buttons in sixaxis, i.e. what keyboard button you want each PS3 button to emulate
3) Disconnect and reconnect to Sixaxis controller app
4) Open FPse and load a game
5) Configure the controls in FPse to use the PS3, Remember sixaxis controller app makes the PS3 controller emulate keyboard buttons, so configure key bindings
6) In FPse, under system, click save default settings. If you don't do this you have to rebind the PS3 controller keys every time you start FPse
7) Play game

Same issue here Were you able to get it working? If so please send link. I'm still searching for a solution.
Both work great for me on tf. There were recent issues if you were using the opengl plugin and tried to bind keys, but the newest update fixed it.

Which specific ps3 wireless controller do you guys recommend?
anyone figure it out?
hey guys,
thought id share that splashtop 2 now supports controllers, mainly the xbox 360 controller but ive been testing with a ps3 controller (bluetooth) and it works surprisingly well, the ps3 controller seems to have an issue with deadzone with the analog sticks (ive contacted suppot) but other than that latency is low and very playable, ive been testing it on a 801.11n 2.5ghz network about 20+ meters away from my router and it was still playable.
To enable controller support, you need to install a driver,
open cmd with admin permissions an run cd "c:\Program Files (x86)\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote\Server\GamePad" then install_driver64.bat (or install_driver.bat for 32bit e.g.)
Restart splashtop and it should work, still the fullscreen game limitation but most games support borderless and/or windowed mode.
Enjoy

I'm having a little trouble with this. I've seen a few other people online with the same problem, just no answers yet. I did everything just as you said there, just as the splashtop website says, that is. I had it say "echo off" and then a few seconds later, windows asked me if I wanted to install the driver. So I did, it installed, and I restarted splashtop. I even restarted my pc, when that failed. Either way, when I plug my Xbox 360 Controller for Windows into the usb of the dock of my ASUS tf300t, it just blinks the green circle and the only control I have is the left analog, and maybe like one other button. Any ideas?

No custom rom. I do not have the tablet rooted at all, which disables me from being able to use the sixaxis app to test my ps3 controller or the usb/bt app. However, you are correct, both the PS3 controller and the Xbox360 controller for windows work perfectly on native android apps like GTA:Vice City and various emulators. So I guess that just leaves Splashtop. I'm nearly 100% certain that the Splashtop software the tf300t comes pre-loaded with is Splashtop 2. But I could be wrong.

Yeah, I did that too. lol. Still no go. I then went back and uninstalled and reinstalled all the software. Still no go. I was now thinking I'm just going to have to use a ps3 controller connected wirelessly to my pc upstairs, but that would require me spending another 15 bucks on a bluetooth usb adapter. I don't want to do that. lol.

Have you ever wanted to play games on your android phone using your PS3 Sixaxis Controller wirelessly?
Today iam going to tell you step by step how to play games on your android phone using the PS3 Controller.
This method is already tested by me and iam play Asphalt 8 on my Noir A900.
Things you Need
Android Device obviously
Rooted Phone
Dualshock 3 (Sixaxis) controller.
Sixaxis Compatibility Checker Get it from Google Play
Sixaxis Controller Get it from Google Play
SixaxisPairTool Download it from Here
How to Connect your Ps3 Sixaxis Controller
Open Sixaxis Compatibility Checker.
You'll get a message, press OK.
Now press Start.Grant the Superuser permissions.
If your device is supported, you will get a message telling you that.Your device appears to be supported.Click the stop button and exit the App
If you did not get that message then you better stop now or you can try your luck if you want to

after failing first method. Second method works in the checker, and connects to controller. However in sixaxis control app, fails on first method but there is no second method like im the checker. Why does it work in the checker and show the controller working but not in the controller app?
Hi
I just got a Samsung Galaxy S5 two weeks ago and I can't get the sixaxis controller to pair with my ps3 controller. It is a dual shock 3 just so you know. My phone is also rooted but running stock 4.4.2 and I really don't want to install cyanogen mod. So I plug my DS3 into my pc and install sixaxis pair tool and pair it using my phones bluetooth address. It says master updated and then i unplug it and press start on my Sixaxis controller app on my S5. I then press the PS button and the lights just keep flashing red and on my phone it is stuck on listening for controllers. I also tried pairing it with Motion In Joy and during the pairing process, if you use Motion In Joy, you have to type the bluetooth address backwards, which I did, and it still wont work.
For example, instead of 1D:4G:N9 you would type N9:4G:1D. So you type it in reverse order, not really backwards.
I tried the same thing with my rooted HTC Desire HD running 4.4.2 Cyanogen Mod 11. I did it with Motion In Joy and it worked perfectly so I know that I am typing the address backwards properly.
So my main question is, is there any way to get Sixaxis controller to work on a rooted galaxy s5 running stock 4.4.2 without cyanogen mod?
I am pretty sure the answer is no but I wanted to make sure before I install cyanogen mod. Right now it doesn't even have CWM.
Thanks in advance.

No. I just decided that I'm not gonna install cyanogen so I can't use my ps3 controller.
Although now I'm thinking that if there is a way to control your android from your pc. Like maybe vnc or something. So we could set that up and then maybe use motion in joy to control our pc. So using your ps3 controller to control you PC and using your PC to control your phone. But I haven't tried this yet and I'm assuming it will he very laggy and I'm not even sure if there is an app that allows your PC to control your phone in the way I want. Like the way I want is that pressing x on your ps3 will press x on your PC and pressing x on my PC will press somewhere around the bottom left of he phone screen. Maybe if I find time for this I will tell you guys if anything worked.
I installed Xposed Installer and then downloaded the Bluetooth Unlock 1.1.1 module. Tick the "all files" option in the Bluetooth Unlock module. Next, select preferences/settings/general settings and tick the Auto Start option in the Sixaxis Controller app. Restart your device. Wait for the Sixaxis app to start. Open Sixaxis and Stop the driver (I don't know why you have to do this but you do). Now, start the Sixaxis driver again. Press the PS button on the previously paired controller. It SHOULD connect.
Remember that the Sixaxis app will keep your screen on, so auto start Is not ideal but it seems that there is some interplay between the Sixaxis app/Bluetooth Unlocker and the BT protocols on startup.

didnt work for me!
Been using the Sixaxis app on my Nvidia Shield tablet to play Gamestream games on my couch. I'm using the DS4 wirelessly over BT. The Shield is connected wired via OTG LAN adapter.
Have a couple of problems that I'm trying to sort out:
1. When I hold down any of the direction pad buttons, the input is taken as multiple fast presses so it's impossible to use in some games like GTA5 where you need to hold down a direction in order to change characters. This "long press" is actually used in quite a few games so it's a big bummer that it doesn't work properly.
2. I set auto-launch in the sixaxis app but when I switch to the console mode it doesn't pair with the DS4 when I turn it in. I have to stop and then re-start the sixaxis to get it to see the DS4.
Would really like to fix at least #1. Any suggestions?
PS: Shield is on Android 5.3.
Would someone who plays with the same setup (DS4 via BT) mind posting screenshot (or description) of their Sixaxis settings?
