Hi
I just got a Samsung Galaxy S5 two weeks ago and I can't get the sixaxis controller to pair with my ps3 controller. It is a dual shock 3 just so you know. My phone is also rooted but running stock 4.4.2 and I really don't want to install cyanogen mod. So I plug my DS3 into my pc and install sixaxis pair tool and pair it using my phones bluetooth address. It says master updated and then i unplug it and press start on my Sixaxis controller app on my S5. I then press the PS button and the lights just keep flashing red and on my phone it is stuck on listening for controllers. I also tried pairing it with Motion In Joy and during the pairing process, if you use Motion In Joy, you have to type the bluetooth address backwards, which I did, and it still wont work.
For example, instead of 1D:4G:N9 you would type N9:4G:1D. So you type it in reverse order, not really backwards.
I tried the same thing with my rooted HTC Desire HD running 4.4.2 Cyanogen Mod 11. I did it with Motion In Joy and it worked perfectly so I know that I am typing the address backwards properly.
So my main question is, is there any way to get Sixaxis controller to work on a rooted galaxy s5 running stock 4.4.2 without cyanogen mod?
I am pretty sure the answer is no but I wanted to make sure before I install cyanogen mod. Right now it doesn't even have CWM.
Thanks in advance.

No. I just decided that I'm not gonna install cyanogen so I can't use my ps3 controller.
Although now I'm thinking that if there is a way to control your android from your pc. Like maybe vnc or something. So we could set that up and then maybe use motion in joy to control our pc. So using your ps3 controller to control you PC and using your PC to control your phone. But I haven't tried this yet and I'm assuming it will he very laggy and I'm not even sure if there is an app that allows your PC to control your phone in the way I want. Like the way I want is that pressing x on your ps3 will press x on your PC and pressing x on my PC will press somewhere around the bottom left of he phone screen. Maybe if I find time for this I will tell you guys if anything worked.
I installed Xposed Installer and then downloaded the Bluetooth Unlock 1.1.1 module. Tick the "all files" option in the Bluetooth Unlock module. Next, select preferences/settings/general settings and tick the Auto Start option in the Sixaxis Controller app. Restart your device. Wait for the Sixaxis app to start. Open Sixaxis and Stop the driver (I don't know why you have to do this but you do). Now, start the Sixaxis driver again. Press the PS button on the previously paired controller. It SHOULD connect.
Remember that the Sixaxis app will keep your screen on, so auto start Is not ideal but it seems that there is some interplay between the Sixaxis app/Bluetooth Unlocker and the BT protocols on startup.

today i was trying to pair my ps3 controller with sixaxis but it would connect to the bluetooth settings but not the app and the reason is so i can use my mappings for games. is there a way to not let connect to the settings?
I think it has to connect to the bluetooth. If it doesn't connect to the bluetooth, how will it connect to your transformer. I got working just fine on mine. Just follow the instructions on the website.

I think the question is not related to the bluetooth pairing itself but to the way to setup the key mapping of the control or.
In some apps we have the possibility to do that by a setup managed by the apps itself but for other there is no setup possible.
The question is how can we make the setup of the key mapping : for example in some game to use the fire key I have to press start. It will be better to use for example the cross for that.

after failing first method. Second method works in the checker, and connects to controller. However in sixaxis control app, fails on first method but there is no second method like im the checker. Why does it work in the checker and show the controller working but not in the controller app?
Hi all,
Not sure whether everyone knows this yet or not, but in one of the recent PS4 firmware updates it added a pairing function to the DS4 controller so it could be wirelessly paired with a Playstation 3 as well.. Turns it out also works with Android too (I've tested with my N7 2013 and N5, both running PAC rom 4.4.4) and it works straight away WITHOUT the need of a third-party app
- When the DS4 is off, press and hold the Share button and the PS Button and it enters pairing mode
- Search for bluetooth devices with your phone/tablet and it should come up straight away as Wireless Controller
Just thought i'd post this incase anyone didn't know about it and wanted to try it out on their device too and see if it works :good:

I'm trying to pair my DS4 and rooted (but otherwise stock) N5 but it doesn't seem to work. I put the DS4 in discoverable mode (Share + PS buttons) and"Wireless Controller" shows up in the list of available devices, but when I try to pair them it just sits there "Pairing..." forever. It's been at it for almost 10 minutes now and nothing's happening. I tried restarting the phone and waiting like 20 minutes for the controller to restart but I've run out of ideas. Any suggestions?

I'm having exactly the same problem @Farlo1.
I did read somewhere that the early DS4s don't work using this method.
But those released after a certain date do.
I've got 2 DS4s but they're both from launch, so neither of them is working with this. The only way I've seen to use the DS4 is to invest in a cable, which I don't really want to do...
Let me know if you spot anything different!
Hey, I had my DS4 working flawlessly in my z3 compact, but since I have a GS5, the mapping is all screwy. I tried installing sixaxis and it just added a massive 1+ second lag, with only part of the button press registering, and then it goes all crazy and scrolls everywhere. This gets even worse in PPSSPP, where as soon as I touch the analogue stick it goes haywire... but it was flawless with my z3!
Anyone know anything about this?
doesn't work for playing
I connected everything and started ninjumb dash(game) but the controller(ps4)didn't turn the colour blue and it is not working
pls tell me what to do next

sorry for bringing this post back...
but i'm suffering with this exactly problem!!!
tested with a galaxy s7 edge and a nexus 5.
any workaround? fix?
Hi my DS4 connect to my phone normally but it works little bit slow and I don't know why ?
I know this is a really old post. Never mind. I am able to connect DS4 to my Android phone (using share and PS button), and play games (such as Final Fantasy from the play store), however the buttons are not configured correctly (X is cancel, O is confirm!). Is there any app that will remap the buttons. I have used Sixaxis for the PS3 controller, but would prefer to use the DS4. However each time you switch to Android gaming and PS4 gaming you need to reconnect the controller to each device with OTG cable which is a pain . I have tried Tincore app, but cannot get it to work as don't know how it works!

I was surprised at how easy this was, but yes seems to have some input lag,
I found this on reddit
"Now after about 30sec, and for some unknown reason, you will run into input lag. To fix this you will need to download an app called Bluetooth Auto Connect. Once installed goto Advanced Options - Connect Now. Once you push Connect Now the input lag should be gone."
I haven't had a chance to try this yet but seems promising
Ds4 controller syncs fine to my LG Aristo but it doesn't actually control ****, any game that uses a controller does not see the Ds4. I can use my ds3 with the sixaxis app but I can't do a thing with this Ds4.
I'm trying to use my ps3 controller via Bluetooth via console mode on my tv but it keeps closing all the programs including the sixaxis service.. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I think console mode is made to work with nvidia's controller specifically. Have ypu tried just mirroring it in full screen mode?
Yeah but that defeats the purpose of having the screen off
Same issue here. Just have to enable six axis blindly through the tablet. I don't think there's a way around it right now. Even my Nvidia shield controller is doing the same. It turns off the Nvidia controller too. But luckily when I turn the controller on it auto connects. Unlike my ps3 controller. But regardless which I use, any open apps closes. Has to be a software fix at this point.
I haven't used a ps3 controller with mine but will the controller connect with the tablet at all when it is powered on or do you have to do that manually through the six axis app?
Sent from my One M8
You could use Gravitybox and add sixaxis controller in quick settings as an custom app. It makes it a lot easier to enable blindly at least
console mode shus down all background programs including the sixaxis service. Unless there is a way to keep it running even in console mode i dont think it is possible atm
My solution to this was to use an Harmony Smart Control remote.
Since it supports controlling Bluetooth devices, I had set it to work with the tablet.
This allowed me to control the tablet once in console mode and turn on six axis.
I imagine a Bluetooth keyboard or a usb one with an OTG cable would also do the trick.
So I got it to work by setting six axis to auto boot with the tablet before I went into console mode

Well with root, you could adjust the Android Task Manager parameters. ROM Toolbox has an option to ignore chosen apps when "multi killing running apps" for instance. It has a "keep alive" option as well. Might be worth playing around with it. It does look like there's a fair chance it wouldn't do anything though if that really is the case.
well?
Auto run the app with LLAMA
Have you guys tried using LLAMA, try setting it to launch the Sixaxis app when console mode launches or when the NVIDIA hub(im not sure on the name here.) opens up.
Make Sixaxis a systems app
Thread is a little old but for those like me looking for a solution I made sixaxis a system app ( plenty of options in the app store) and set it to auto launch in the preference menu. Once it launched into console mode I just reconnected my ps4 controller. Works a treat.
Guys, Sixaxis controller have an "AutoStart" option in settings. Just turn on it before go to console mode and Sixaxis Controller app turn on when console mode start.
Hi!
My device: S8+ (rooted.)
Installed and working Playstation Remote play on S8+, can use touch buttons to navigate and play, BUT!
With the Playstation Dualshock 4 controller connected with USB (OTG) it's not responding in the remote play app when app is connected to the playstation 4 and shows video, the controller works outside the connection to the ps4. When just in the application of the Remote Play app i can navigate with the controller but not after I connect the remote play to the ps4, only the touch button on the phone screen works then.
And by bluetooth it's very buggy, it dosent even connect or just freezes when trying to establish bluetooth connection betwen the phone and the controller.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Sure thing, I'll give the link here so everyone can benefit from it ? you can find it down here below:
PS4 Remote Play v2.0.0.apk --> https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-ps-remote-play-enabler-t3575876
I've tried this tool but it was hard for me to succeed...
I managed to change master ID and found the dualshock 4 in the PC program so I could find its Bluetooth address but I can't go further than that...
http://dancingpixelstudios.com/sixaxis-controller/sixaxispairtool/
Edit:
Managed to get connected with bluetooth now, se few comments below this, but it did not help with the responding in remote play app to recognize the inputs from the dualshock 4.
This is how I have it at the moment.
And here is a guide as well but his dualshock is connected to the ps4 and remote play on the phone is signed in on a second account on the ps4, the bad thing is the latency and you cannot be too far away from the ps4.
https://www.xda-developers.com/how-...ny-android-and-play-dualshock-4-tips-opinion/
Okej, getting closer but still not there yet.
Managed to connect now the Dualshock 4 controller to the phone with bluetooth.
Sixaxis method as mentioned in the beginning here, but the in the remote play when it's connected to the PS4 and showing the screening of the PS4 in the remote play, the controller dose nothing, it's like it dose not detect anything from the controller.
But when i disconnect but still in the remote play app i can navigate in the app menue in the remote play as normal with the Dualshock 4 controller, it do recognize the inputs from the controller in the app but stops to recognize directly after i connect the remote play to the ps4.......

Troubleshooting:
If you cannot se your local device bluetooth adress showing in the sixaxis app, do this:
(Bluetooth must be enabled)
1. From the Home screen, open the app drawer, then open “Settings“.
2. Scroll down to the bottom and tap “About Phone“, “About device“, or “About tablet“.
3. Scroll down to the bottom and tap “Status“.
4. Scroll down and the “Bluetooth address” will be shown in the list.
Now copy it so you can enter it in the PC/MAC program when connecting the D4 to the PC/MAC.
