[Q] Asus TF300T OS deleted - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried to install Cyanogenmod 11 on my Asus Tf300T with TWRP. It was suggested that I clear the internal storage COMPLETELY so I have as much of the 32GB possible. I accidentally cleared the micro sd card, which had CM11, the stock rom backup and all my other backups. I took the sd card out and put CM11 on it again, but on my PC. I cleared the right storage on my tablet and then re-inserted the micro sd card thinking it would recognize the file for CM11, it did not. I tried rebooting (and held down vol. down to go into custom recovery) and it stayed on the startup screen with the Asus logo. It is now impossible to do anything with the tablet. Is there still a way I can get the stock rom back on the tablet (if I download it from the net)?

So there is no way to get to the bootloader screen ?
Thx Josh

That is correct. (I did hold the down part of the volume rocker like I was supposed to.)

If you cant get to bootloader or recovery and you dont have your nvflash blobs
Its mobo time ..
Sorry for the bad news..
Thx Josh

This is why I've never done a custom ROM. I've always worried something like this might happen. What is mobo time? Does that mean buying a new system board to put in it? Is there no way to reflash a system with like OEM files from someplace?

I mean you need a motherboard or sell it for parts ...

I actually can go into custom recovery! I wasn't holding vol. down hard enough because of the thick case.

I found out that that recovery doesn't work. I can't find a custom recovery for the build number "JRO0C.JP_epad-10.4.2.20-20121228". I know that JP means Japanese. It is running android 4.1.1

Here is goes... so my buddy tells me he flashed to cm7 trinity, but when I turn the phone on it loads to froyo without a baseband. Won't connect to either sd (says cards are busy).
It also seems he reset the phone so cwm is gone but the back ups are still on the micro SD. I have the nvidia flash and LG update. Neither acknowledge that phone but do mine. Any new ideas will be helpfully.

reflash cwm recovery, put the stock nandroid that is listed in the dev section into your recovery folder, restore than and start over brotha

A reset wouldn't wipe your recovery image. Do you still have root? And, have you tried pulling the micro sdcard out?
Sounds like he didn't NVFlash CWM. That would be you're first step.

Thanks again. Just slowing down and following the directions is usually an easier way to a solution...
but back to the original problem. I still can't get the sd card to read. If I go to the gallery like I want to look at the pictures stored on it, I can see them greyed out in the background, but I get an error message. In settings, storage, it detects the card and tells its volume, but won't let me look at it.? At a loss. Gonna redownload the cm nightly and reflash and see, but I don't get it.

I know you might not want to hear this, but it might be your SD card...
Those things don't last forever and errors on them can sometimes be tricky to diagnose because bad sectors can sometimes still be read even if they are bad.
My suggestion, if your PC can still read the card then you should start by backing everything up. Then, try using another SD card in the phone. If the phone can read that, then there might be something wrong with the first card. You can also try using the phone to reformat the problem card.
Try to debug in a way that determines if maybe the card is the problem. Just the other day I had a 32 gig card go bad on me. It happened when my phone fell and came out of it's case. After that the card didn't work anymore. I remembered seeing "shock proof" on sandisk's descriptions, but I always thought it was a marketting thing. Maybe it wasn't. There's also a possibility that my card simply failed before I dropped the phone, and the reboot caused the system to remount the card and finally see the problem.
Either way, it went bad and I lost my stuff. A cautionary tale.

Asus tf101 won't read in computer

I have a few problems here... I was updating my cm unofficial Rom last night and before I did I made a mistake of using Rom manager and put the latest touch recovery on it.... I can boot to recovery and tried several times to flash over it but stays the same. Second I can cold boot to cm 10 but don't have wifi at all.... So I can't re flash through goo manager. Main problem is when I plug the tablet in the computer it charges but won't read it... I tried re installing all drivers I tried 3 cables and 2 computers.... Please if anyone knows how to get this thing to read so I can push new software to it.. Jeff

If your data is not that important, use Easy Flasher to go back to stock.
Then root it, install Goo Manager and in the settings, install openrecoveryscript for TWRP recovery and there's roms and other stuff in Goo Manager as well.
It sounds like I had this same experience with the recovery problem . You have to revert back to 5.4.0.4 or so. I dont remember exactly where I found it but you also must use a terminal emulator t suppress your current version AFTER you flashed it from your current recovery yet BEFORE you go back to view the older version after its flashed, I know there isn't much information there but I looked and looked and looked and finally found this way, hope my information serves you as at least a starting point to fix it

I get the same warning, but it works fine regardless. I always figured it was for some other devices that had that partition...
Tried it still not working... I did a full wipe of all data and internal in TWRP recovery and then restored a nandroid of stock rom w root and still nothing... I tried to full wipe of all available options in recovery and loaded recover 4.2.1 and again nothing computer won't read it and got the staging error at then end.... I have a fully functional tablet except for usb and this could be a problem if it bricks.... The last rom I had on there before problems was cm 10 12-30-12 before I tried eos 4 and this all began... I was only available to load cm back on but with out wifi out of all ROM's bc all failed at install..Finally got an old nandroid restored w new recovery after the cwm loop was solved. so everything is working except usb . I have been reading and reading seemsike common issue but no fix...

Hey,
I have the same problem, the ASUS Service center told me that motherboard needs to be replaced. They are charging me around Rs. 14000 (~$250) for the motherboard replacement which i believe is too much. Kindly suggest whether you were charged the same or did you get it done from elsewhere.
Also, I initially got the problem due to failed CWM recovery and thus it seems to be software issue. Is there any way it can be recovered without motherboard replacement.
I actually bought it through walmart and had the protection plan... I'm getting a refund for full amount since parts aren't available... $540.00 refund check... The only problem I had was connecting it to the computer via usb...It wouldn't read... I also had a clicking noise at boot... The talet ran fine... I'll take the refund and just get another tablet now

Also the only way I can get anything on my micro SD right now is to plug it in to another phone and drag and drop the file on to the card from there. Does that botch things up or am I ok in doing it that way? I don't have an adapter for the card to read in my computers slot....

I don't believe that will screw anything up since you're copying it to your external card. Also, the zip has to be named OP6BIMG.zip otherwise it won't flash in boot loader.

@Anthony825 the above advice is correct. Make sure your sd card is formatted as fat32. Otherwise bootloader won't detect it. That's a leading zero too...not a capital O. Cut copy and paste this...
0P6BIMG.zip

So .zip has to be in the name? twrp detected the memory card and I tried to boot RUUM8 from it and it failed. Is that because it wasn't named properly and/or because my cats was never formatted after I took it out of the package?

You shouldn't be using twrp for an ruu. The file extension is zip. So if you were looking at the sd card on your PC you would see the .zip part. You would run that from bootloader. Twrp will never flash it

If you have everything right your bootloader should pick it up. If your phone boots up in fastboot mode choose the bootloader option from the menu and you should see it look for that file by name.
Alright, I will give it a shot and post back. Thanks for all your help guys. Been using my friends galaxy s5 for a couple days now and I don't know about it lol...
