[Q] Remove Carrier popups - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How can i remove these annoying carrier popups that show up every 5 minutes even though data connection is off? (Screenshot in attachments)
Found no settings to disable it , and there is nothing in "sim toolkit app" to disable it. Sim toolkit can't be disabled in app manager.
I am on XT1033 Dual Sim , unrooted.

Here is the solution to your problem. There is an app called, USSD notification. It hides this stupid popups and puts them in the notification bar and stores till you want to clear them. Only catch is, it's not free (50Rs)

Free alternative: (requires root and Xposed Framework)
Ussd Inbox will block the annoying USSD balance update popups that come up on your phone, each time you make a call or change data connectivity. This app is like a silent inbox for all your USSD popup messages.

Totally silent call blocker ?

Looking for a totally silent call blocker. Tried apps like MrNumber but every time there's a blocked call I get a pop up & audio notification. I want a app that once a number is added to the block list, just blocks the call - no notification of any kind ( well a entry into a log is OK ).
Any suggestions ?
Stock Moto G here.
No one ?
Can I request one of the app developers here to develop such a app. I'm sure I'm not the only one who needs this.

Hello bro... If you have Samsung device.. It has an option blocking mode..
And If you have rooted phone... Then use this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.rootcallblocker.beta&hl=en
Or you can search play store for this kind of apps.... I'm sure that there must be some apps with this feature..
Please don't miss to hit thanks button if I helped you..
Could not any at the Play Store or even Google search. That's why I posted here.
No one else needed something like this ? Seems unlikely,
Using stock Moto G as mentioned in the OP.

Got a really quick response from MrNumber :
To disable or change where the pop up notifications appear, tap "Settings" in Mr. Number.
In the Calls section, tap "Incoming Call pop up" to reveal different options for where incoming call notifications should appear:
Show alerts at the top
Show alerts in the middle
Show alerts on the bottom
Do not show
If you uncheck the box next to "Post call pop up," and the app will stop displaying information about callers after a call is completed.
When Mr. Number blocks a call or text it creates a notification on your notification bar. To disable the notifications, tap Settings >>"Blocked calls and texts" under Notifications >> select "do not send notification."
Lastly, there is a small popup that says, "Blocked by Mr. Number" when the action of the blocking takes place which quickly appears and then disappears; that cannot be removed.
Best,

I made a request/suggestion to have a option to disable the sound that is played when the popup appears.

[Q] Bought it unlocked at Best Buy, how to get rid of bloatware?

Specifically the "Activation Agent" which just adds a dumb notification on the notification bar saying there's no Verizon SIM detected. Not to mention, when you go to the app, it doesn't let you uncheck the "Show Notifications"

Use the debloater tool to disable all those apps. I disabled the activation agent so it stops showing that notification.
Also as a temporary solution you can just force close it and it'll go away until the next reboot.

There's a debloater tool? In XDA or in the phone itself?
EDITED: Found it

Pesty Visual Voice Mail App -How do I kill it?

When I got the phone I was able to make the paid wanna-be app go to sleep and not bug me. The latest Samsung update causes a message in my notification bar that CAN NOT be deleted, "10 voice mail messages" I have tried everything with out success to remove the notification. Even after killing the app via FORCE STOP and Delete Data. When I click on the notification it auto-dials my boost mobile voicemail account automatically. When I check my voice mail at boost by logging in there is "zero" voice mails in the box.
After restarting the phone the notification does not appear until about 3 minuets after, then I get the notification back again.
My S6 is NOT rooted.
How do I solve this?

How to disable distractive apps for specific period of time?

I am looking for a way I can disable selected distractive apps during particular time of the day but still want to receive calls, sms or messages from particular selected apps.
In my old rooted phone I have used AFwall+ for that reason so selected apps can't access Internet connection. Since I haven't rooted my new phone and not planing of doing that atm so I cant use AFwall+.
Also I can't just turn off phone Internet connection because I need some selected apps stay connected.
So lets say I want to have such setup:
Viber - disable
SMS - enable
Skype - disable
FB - disable
FB messanger - enable
Gmail - disable
Calls - enable
disable means I do not want this app to access Internet and distract me with any sort of UI notifications
enable means I want the app working and deliver notifications for me as normal
Any thoughts ?
First, I think you mean distracting, not destructive.
Greenify can block the apps, but not only during certain times of the day.

It is interesting app that disabling notifications but Android still showing the rounded notifications badges over icons. Is there a way to getting rid of these badges too?
UPDATE 1:
I just was following this article that https://www.h3xed.com/mobile/how-to-remove-icon-badge-notifications-on-android-samsung-touchwiz but button 'disable' is not active so I cant disable the 'BadgeProvider'
UPDATE 2:
Then I followed this one http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...e-disable-app-icon-badge-counter-s7-edge.html and by using 'Package Disabler Pro' the 'BadgeProvider' was being successfully disabled.
So basically in order to stop notifications on non rooted S7 we need to apps
1) Greenify
2) Package Disabler Pro
I have yahoo mail, which sends its fake news. that I don't read. I want to dump the fake news .

Question Hide incoming call popup for Google Phone app

I am using Google Phone and Contacts app (Samsung apps are terrible to use, although they look better).
When receiving a phone call, on top of the full screen page I see a notification popup: how can I disable it?
If I go into app's notification settings, all is enabled but greyed out, so cannot change.
Thx
Anyone here?

click on right arrow and disable notification
As said, not possible, all greyed out and default to on
You could try with Auto Notification and Tasker
Do you have Google dialer installed? Can you show me how your notification settings look like (enabled or greyed out)?
They are greyed out on Samsung dialer too
I know why... Google is forcing some properties to fixed so that users cannot change notifications. Problem is that they should fix this behaviour which I believe is a bug.
Strange cos my Xiaomi phone does not have this problem: same app version, same settings greyed out.

Can you pls try to also set phone app as default for calls and ask some one to call you, to see if you get the notification? Keep screen off when waiting the incoming call, and try several times.
Thanks

I'm getting the notification. Always did
Strange... It shouldn't be there
Maybe it's because of "floating notifications" in settings. Check it.
By the way I get a similar notification while in another call/Viber call/Skype call even with Samsung dialer.
Google dialer is fugly.
NO, floating notification is to enable the floating popup when minimizing the dialer.
It seems as if when receiving the call with screen off, Google dialer detects the screen is already on, this displaying the full screen + the popup. As a matter of fact sometimes the popup does not show, but when it does (most of the times) it's annoying as hides that caller's nam

I have also had this issue for a while now, and could never figure out how to fix it either. I finally decided to try turning off the "Appear on top" permission setting in the app info section of the phone app. That seems to have done the trick, as now I only get the top pop up when I get an incoming call, then when I answer it goes to the full screen portion like normal. Maybe give that a try and see if it works for you.
