[Q] Bought it unlocked at Best Buy, how to get rid of bloatware? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

Specifically the "Activation Agent" which just adds a dumb notification on the notification bar saying there's no Verizon SIM detected. Not to mention, when you go to the app, it doesn't let you uncheck the "Show Notifications"

Use the debloater tool to disable all those apps. I disabled the activation agent so it stops showing that notification.
Also as a temporary solution you can just force close it and it'll go away until the next reboot.

There's a debloater tool? In XDA or in the phone itself?
EDITED: Found it

Nexus 5 not pushing notifications

I managed to get the Galaxy gear 2 to pair with my Nexus 5, but none of the notifications are pushing from my phone to the Gear, any advice?

What answer do you want here?
1. Your phone is NOT supported
2. Get a supported SAMSUNG phone
Have you enable notifications in security settings on phone ?

This. I had enabled everything except notification access for ATN Manager in settings.
Go to Settings > Security > Notification Access and check the box beside ATN manager.
On a side note, does anyone have a way to get apps made for Gear 2 Neo on Samsung Apps store on Nexus 5? These default apps are okay but dont really do much in long term use.

I just installed ATN manager and turned on the permission to access notifications and I see no change. I have Galaxy Gear and ATNManager allowed in the Notification settings. I have gone through and check marked all of the programs I want notifications from.

In Gear Manager go to Notification and uncheck "Limit notification" and "Keep screen off" but do enable "Preview message"
There should be a section in there called "1) Instant alerts for Gear)" you should see "incoming call" underneath it - enable it.
After this, there should be another section underneath the first one "1)Notification for Gear apps", you will see ATN Manager in it - enable that. and below all of this should be "9) More notification". Select apps you want notifications from, for texting I use a third party app called EvolveSMS so therefore I had to enable notification for that app instead of Hangouts.
Good luck!

For "Notification for Gear apps" there is nothing there. But once I tapped on "More Notifications" it gave me a TOS prompt and once I agreed to it then it started working. I'm currently having other issues with ATN manager but I will open a new thread for that.

How to ignore 5.0.1 update?

Guys my pop up notification for 5.0.1 has arrived. But I don't want to update. How can I get rid of the notification from constantly showing in my drop down bar? I've selected "later" but it keeps coming up every so often. I'm running a rooted N5 along with the brilliant XGels and Gravity Box. I really don't want to lose these great apps.

Download this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rs.autorun
Open in advanced mode, go into it's settings and enable for system apps.
Then in the UI (if its annoying, try in landscape), tap on Google Play Services and disable everything with "SystemUpdateService" in it.
Blocking the notifications from SystemUI/framework in Settings could block other system notifications, and it'll still download the OTA (download wakelock) until you take it.

The notification for 5.0.1 only occurs while on 5.0. Gravity Box is not an option.

Odd. I would think that you would get the 5.0 update notification first. If you're on 4.4.4 and not using ART, GB is definitely a way to go.
Like Lethargy said, use Autostarts to disable all the receivers with "system update service" in their name. That's the only way to completely block your phone from downloading the update without any wakelocks. Or the easy route would be to disable notifications from play services, but then the update will still be there, it just won't show up in your notifications tray.
I'm not sure about this.
Just hold the notification and then drag to App- Info and Force stop that .
If that works reply me.
Even I'm eager to know if it works.

There is no need to. When update notification appear go to GravityBox settings and block that notification (from play services). Thats all. You don't need any third party app for doing this.

Or you could long press the notification, use the app info menu and block the notifications for the play services, without using gravity box.

You could, but with time notification about update will appear again. That's because untick notification in stock settings will not block all notifications activity and you can't disable everything with "SystemUpdateService" as Lethargy descripted well.
On the other side, GravityBox will do this entirely.
Regards, Zagor
P.S. I do both off solution on my phone with 4.4.4 - Xposed, so thats why I'm so sure about it.

Anyway to disable update notification for a specific app?

I have an app that I don't want to update. Any way to disable the market update notification?
I've found some old thread but the solution is quite involved.

Thanks
Just go to playstore and disable auto update, if it's from Samsung apps then do the same but on samsung apps.

Yes. But that still get the notification. Annoyance aside, if I'm not careful and click on update all, it will get updated. Is there a way not to even show the update notification?
Go to the Settings > Apps then select your app, Uncheck "Show Notifications" checkbox and done. Maybe that help you.
Try user Cevem's way, it could work. If not then please post a screen shot, that way it would be easier to know what the problem is exactly.

Sorry. I meant the notification from Google Play that an update is available. Not the notification from the app.
I've found 3C toolbox. Its unlink function appears to be permanent, compared to what TB does

"Service Provider Apps" - How to remove notification?

Like many others, one of the first things I did when configuring my phone was to remove as much bloatware as possible.
No, I don't need your crappy music app, or your ad-infested games. Uninstalled.
Now, on day two, I have an un-dismissable notification: "Service Provider Apps".
Clicking on it returns a menu: "Select apps recommended by your service provider."
App Name: "Amazon Prime Video" with a check mark that can't be unchecked.
Can't dismiss notification. Only option is "Install" when clicking notification.
Long press doesn't allow for blocking app notifications, but did allow me to force stop it, killing it for the time being.
I seem to remember there was a way to disable some notification to permanently stop receiving those messages.
Any tips?
With the whole Bixby debacle, I'm not surprised that they're trying to force even more junk on us.
Package disabler pro on market will disable it... Or long click and choose never display notification

just installed Package Disabler Pro and can confirm it does stop it, if anything changes i'll update here. as for long clicking on it to never display, this isn't an option.
Go to Settings-Display-Status bar- activate Show recent notifications only.
You will never sed thst notification again..
Good luck!
Still there, that setting was already enabled

1. Click on the notification,
2. On the new screen, click on the "Service Provider Apps" header
3. This takes you into Service Provider where you can Force Stop the app AND tell it to stop all notifications.
Good luck!
For me this worked:
- goto Settings/Apps
- click the menu icon (top right hand side of the screen - 3 vertical dots)
- click 'Show system apps'
- locate 'Service provider update' in the (long) list
- click it
- click 'Storage'
- click 'Clear data'
But this did the trick temporarily. The notification came back the next day. Now looking for a better solution
- click 'Delete'

Question LenovoServices is running

The past few updates and now this "Lenovo Services" app is now constantly running. I've tried to force stop it; nope. I can't "mute" the notification.
Any of you even know what this app is? When did it get installed and for what purpose is it there?
Thanks.

I've been regularly updating (Xiaoxin Pad Pro / P11 Pro) but never encountered "Lenovo Services". I do have "Device Service" (package name com.lenovo.lsf.device) which wants to connect to AliCloud in Germany a couple of times per day. I don't allow it on my software firewall (currently NoRoot Firewall), so no notifications from there.

I just double-checked and it is indeed there. I will post a screenshot if that helps you. Furthermore, I'm unable to uninstall it or remove the notification that it is running.
I checked the app, and it has no permissions granted other than "draw over other apps" but nothing for storage or location or contacts.
I'm on a US device if that makes a difference. Someone here must have the same thing I would assume?
I do have the same service running on mine and unable to hide it from notifications.
Time to go play in the Registry...
At least there is a way to "hide it" see here: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo...ervices-is-Running/m-p/5083807?page=2#5447336
swipe down to see the "LenovoServices is running" notification and tap on it, it goes to the app settings page
Here you have 2 options
tap on Force Stop, it stops the notification but also the service itself (which is probably not a big problem, I've received an update, today, with this service killed). No notification in the status bar, no notification in the pull-down
Or
tap Notifications, DownloadService
there you see two main options, Alerting and Silent, it's on Alerting
switch to Silent and tap Minimise, notification gone from status bar but it's still in the pull-down, service still running

Good info. Thanks. Although still no explanation as to what it's doing or, how it got on there in the first place.
