Try it. If you don't like it, just use a factory image of 4.4.2 to go back.

all bugs are fixed
update to 4.4.4 if you get it asap.
4.4.4 seems pretty stable. Try it out, some bugs may still exist but some were definitely fixed.
You Should Upgrade. But you can go to previous versions which is rare...
I don't benchmark or track bugs, but, based on my own personal user-experience "feeling", 4.4.4's performance is better and it has less problems than 4.4.2 and 4.4.3.
Just upgrade no problems at all for me but since I recently bought the nexus 5 I can't tell you about improvements or compare 4.4.2 to 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 is just a security update as I read before

I still havent installed android 4.4.3 in my nexus. Reading in different websites I've seen there are many bugs so I was wondering whether it is worth it to upgrade or whether I should stick with android 4.4.2 for now.

always better to upgrade, it includes several fixes that are really helpful.
If you're afraid that you might get any bugs (but I don't think that you will) you could flash the whole stock 4.4.3 image and start from scratch.

Many of those bugs and issues are isolated cases. Personally I'd rather upgrade to an OS that has more fixes, is less Bugless should be more stable.
I'm on the DIrty Unicors 4.4.3 build with Franco R53 kernel and my N5 is performing fantastic. Smooth, stabile, seems even faster, and more fluid transitions. I also flashed the new modem/radio (wasn't in the DU 4.4.3 build) and not that I even had an issue with the last radio, but this one seems to be working great for me on MetroPCS. I'm getting more bars and LTE reception in areas that usually struggle with singnal and my WiFi to data transition seems quicker to.
No to mention that there are all the modems/radios I. A flashable zip through a custom recovey and then you can test to see which one works be for you.
On the other hand... If you find that you don't like it (which I doubt) try a custom 4.4.3 ROM.
I f you have one you could always just reflash a nandroid backup to a previous version 4.4.2
You could also always flash back the stock images to 4.4.2 using the same method that you upgraded to 4.4.3 and there's other method you can do this way without losing user data.

Well mine is about week or two old now. And im also on 4..4.4 Im not sure what's the reason wh'y its not updating. Seems like everyone with new nexus 5 have this problem. We just have to wait i guess.
If nothing will change i will probably unlock bootloader next year and update it manually. Then again looks like there are huge battery life problems on lollipop. It might be better to stay on 4.4.4
Same case here. I bought a new Nexus on the 13th of December. After turning on the phone for the first time, I received a couple of OTA updates until 4.4.4. But I haven't received yet the lollipop OTA update request.
Finally I decided to manually load the OTA by following the tutorial here:

After my phone was manually updated to 5.0, I automatically received the OTA for 5.0.1

Same here, bought my nexus 5 two weeks ago. My nexus 4 already running 5.0.1 but the nexus 5 still 4.4.4. Maybe it's for the better given the nexus 5 lollipop issues. Probably jump straight to 5.0.2
I (finally) got the OTA update notification to switch to Lollipop from 4.4.4 KitKat. I believe there is a 5.0.2 version out there as well, but haven't gotten this alternative yet?
Would I gain anything from this update except aesthetics upgrades? What can I expect from battery life (a big concern)? Is the update reversable (i.e. can I go back to KitKat)? What are the pros and cons of Lollipop?

Hi, I would do the update if I were you. I'm on Cataclysm and the battery life is great. Version 5.0.2 is only for Nexus 7 and 10 AFAIK.
You can always revert back with wugfresh's toolkit.

All of my Android devices (N5, 2014 Moto X, 2013 N7) are staying on KitKat. Aside from all the bugs that people are complaining about with Lollipop, I just don't like the look of it. Google went way too far in their attempt to create mainstream appeal, and made it way too pretty and colorful for my tastes. I think KitKat is still the best version of Android to date. All my devices are stock rooted + Xposed, and I will likely never update them. The only way I'll use Lollipop is when I buy a new device that ships with it.

I got the OTA at around the same time as you did so i quickly updated, i haven't experienced any bugs on 5.0.1 yet (i don't think 5.0.2 will be coming to the nexus 5) but i must say lollipop feels soo much smoother

In case I get tempted or "accidentally" update, won't my current twrp nandroid backup allow me to return to kitkat or will it be more complicated?
If I wanna stick to KitKat, how do I remove the constant notification in the drop-down bar? Also, how does Lollipop deal with managing contacts, merging duplicates, contact list layout, etc (not too happy with that in 4.4.4)?

You can always flash factory image and then flash your backup, there's no problem.

Just a few days ago, I got the notification for Lollipop 5.0.1 update. Reading about several Lollipop issues on Nexus 5, I do not want to update to Lollipop yet, and I intend to continue using KitKat 4.4.4.
I also read on the internet that the major update of Lollipop, 5.1, will be released in February. So, I want to wait for that.
My question is this.
If I do not update to Lollipop 5.0.1 update, and when a new version of Lollipop is available, for example, 5.0.3, or 5.1, or any other newer update, will I get the notification for that, even if I have not installed the current update?

I don't know for sure if you'll get the update notification or not but it won't install if you do. The updates have become sequential and you'll need to have the one before or the new update won't install.

I got a 2-year-old german retail Moto G XT1032 with Stock 4.4.4 Kitkat as a daily driver. I've rooted it approx. a year a ago, installed the Xposed-Framework with xprivacy and Gravitybox. But the phone seems to get quite slow with standard applications like WhatsApp or the music player. So i deleted the app-caches of the Google Expericence Launcher and some other applications. Now it's not so laggy anymore, but i think with
a new version of Android it could be a bit faster.
I'd like to flash it with a new firmware. Now i dont't know, which one to choose. I've read that, when i want to upgrade to 5.1 or 6.0, i have to update the bootloader. And with this new bootloader i can't switch back
to KitKat, is that right? Now the question is, should i update to Lollipop or Marshmallow. When Lollipop came out, i've heard that it was quite a buggy mess. There were a couple of bugs, which made it unusable as a daily driver. Can you recommend Lollipop as a daily driver over KitKat? As I see, there are only beta (nightly) versions of Marshmallow out for the XT1032. Are they stable enough for using it as a daily driver?

1. yes, with a new bootloader you cannot go back to Kitkat. Also keep in mind that you need a recent recovery (TWRP 2.8.7)
2. i can only compare custom roms of KK or LP and i dont see a significant advantage of LP, also KK seemed to have the better memory management
3. another suggesting to your problem: if you dont care about having something "new" you might try a custom KK rom where my recommendation would be SlimKat (overall best and most stable rom i have ever used). That may solve your problems, but if you dont like it you can always go back to stock KK or upgrade
I never used my phone much on KitKat but things u will sacrifice on lp or marshmallow is multitasking (ram management) and battery timing but performance on newer os especially on marshmallow is too good I'm using cm13 nightly 03-01-2016 its so stable that know I don't even bother to upgrade to newer nightly its thousand times better than lp I suggest try KitKat ROM still unsatisfied then u only have choice to watch a video of phone running mm then deciding upgrade BTW just use greenify this phone often gets drunk without it
