I've done everything as instructed. rooted with cydia impactor, recovery with cwm 6.0.1 after 5.8 not working either, and everything runs smoothly until I get to trying to install the rom.
I downloaded the cm11 d2lte nightly and put the zip in the root of my sd card (which is formatted to FAT32 and is designated as my primary) and I cannot get the recovery to mount the sd card.
Also tried formatting the card into exfat to see if that would make a difference, but it didn't either.
Is there anything I'm missing?

I had the same issue when I got a new SD card but with mine formatting it to exfat worked. Just curious why you rooted with cydia impactor on a VZW S3 when nearly everyone else uses towelroot?

New Recovery, cwm touch 6.0.4.5 and now it cannot install.
So, I'm going to wipe, reflash stock, reroot, use the new recovery, and see if I cant get somewhere.
Getting a little frustrated.

Does anyone know if you flash this does it clear the entire memory or just the os partition. I have flashed many Roms before on other android devices but all those had an SD card and with the unlocking process I know the entire data was erased.

It appears it not just your downloads I can't seem to flash any Roms. I tried to flash other ROM and it keeps giving me same error. It almost seems like it can find the zip files on SD card to flash and then it goes to flash and can no longer find the file. Anyone have any insight into this?
first off seems D/L is not working but I dint think there were so many issues with ROM. We definetly need a solid Stock ROM with ROOT (4.1.1), Hope its works when I flash

Same card, using FAT32 on an MBR disk label. Working fine here. 1024kb block size, not that that has any effect on it working or not.

What exactly have you tried?
How do you format the Card?
Have you taken a cardreader and set the clustersize to default and the Filesystem to FAT32?

Put in s2 which running ics, format sd card, once completed, your card will be formatted to fat32. But when s2 running samsung jb, it will format your card to exFAT. After formatted to fat32, all the problems solved. Used pc to format this 64gb card to fat32, you need a special formatter, else it will ended became a 32gb card.
Cwm recovery and mobile odin not supporting exFAT. FAT32 more compatible to program in our phone but you lose out the speed offer by exFAT. exFAT when using in my s2 in usb mode, it read/write was fast. Eg when usb to pc, I can get 10mb/s under exFAT but only 4mb/s on fat32.

Yes, but I tried to do it and I'm having issues. I've got your recovery working, but it says that it can't mount my sd card. I can't flash the root zip. I'm sorry that I have to post this here, but I'm new to this forum and it seems as though my hands are tied. I can't post in the developer's section, and I can't send PMs to a lot of people because I don't have 10 posts yet. I do appreciate the hard work, and I do donate to developers. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I don't think so. I just wanted to bring it to your attention.
Put root.zip on sd when tab is running Android, then when in cwm you can flash it
Send via my BinDroided HTC ONE
Would it work for SM-T310 8.0? If not, is it possible to make it compatible?
You would have ro build it from source, having a stock boot.img and stock recovery.img with some knowledge about linux is all you need
8" has a cwm afaik

I don't know what you mean. The tablet is only running Android... No matter, I figured it out. Your custom CWM doesn't recognize 64G sd cards. I managed to find a 64mb sd card I had laying about & I put the zip on that. It did the trick. Thanks for making a root for this tablet. I'll send you a donation soon.

I've never used a phone without a microsd card. It's pretty useful to be able to flash a rom from a microsd so that you don't need to keep your working copies on the device all the time... they take up alot of space.
Do any of the custom recoveries support reading off of a microsd card reader?
TWRP supports USB-OTG. I'm not sure about CWM though as I haven't used it for a few months now.

Hi everyone. I was on 4.1.2 with SynergyRom, then flashed I545VRUDMI1_modem in preparation for trying to flash AllianceRom per Dev's instructions. Now apparently I have a hard brick, no response trying to boot or anything. Any suggestions for proceeding? I am a bit rusty at flashing and may not have quite understood the transition from 4.1.2. Thanks,
If you flash that on a galaxy s3 the result will always be a hard brick. That modem is for a galaxy s4
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
^^^Yup. The i545 is the S4. I'm not sure if just overwriting the modem partition itself would result in a hard brick, but I'm assuming the two phones have different partition tables so you most likely have a paper weight. You could try the SD unbrick method.
This may help..
I just wrote a boot img to a 16gb(my phones storage size)and inserted it to my phone and it booted. I was hard bricked s3 vzw 4.3.
