[Q] Need Help MB865, Custom ROM problem - Motorola Atrix 2

Hi friends,
After the installation of Custom ROM (CyanogenMod), an error started appearing at top bar on every boot saying "Customer ID error, contact the provider. Boot to Suspended/TCMD"... I'm 100 sure that I've made backUp of CID during ROM installation via BMM.
It kept going for many days and suddenly one day my Atrix2 went on Stock ROM automatically while booting which was missing & hence Robotic Android sign with Caution appeared on screen. I, then, restarted my phone but only white screen appeared showing nothing :[email protected]
Now my phone will boot, but only as far as the Motorola splash screen, then it has only white screen for one or half minute and then again reboot automatically, and this circle will continue....
I tried Flash Boot using RSD_Lite while going to AP FastBoot but it didn't detect my phone, although I've installed all the necessary drivers for my phone (I think that's might because of missing IMEI).
Is there any expert who can help me to bring my phone back???

You need reboot via BP tools to boot your phone. Then you'll need root it, then progrm reboot your phone - screen turns black - hold both vol buttons to enter bootmenu when choose with vol down button bp tools and enter it with power button. A
When install bmm and reboot your phone. Restore your cid via bmm

Thanx Bro, everything went good but after rooting my Atrix2, when I go to bmm recovery during boot and select "Restore CID" my sd card is opened but I am unable to find the Backup file of CID.
For further investigations I selected BACKUP CID, and i got message that FILE ALREADY EXIST.
It means my CID file is present somewhere but i'm unable to find it. The path shown is as ----> ( Path : /ext )

Figured it out!
Thanks Guyz for your support, I figured the problem out...
BMM made a folder as "ClockWorkMod" on sd card where it placed the .img file of CID and all back-ups.

[Q] HTC Desire down, stuck at the HTC boot screen after bad update

Hi everyone,
Let's go straight to the point here's what took my phone down :
I had HTC Desire that I rooted with unrevoked. A several days ago I was notified that a new OTA update (the 2.29.405.2 version, the 28.89MB zip file) was available, so I downloaded it and tried to install it. The update wouldn't install as my phone was rooted. I found on some forum some guy that said he had the same problem and managed to install the update by renaming the zip file update.zip and moving it to the root of the SD card so this is what I did.
Now my phone is stuck at the HTC white boot screen, keeps rebooting. When I boot it in recovery mode it displays an error message (see attached file) like :
SD cheking....

No image!
Loading...[PB99DIAG.nbh]
No image or wrong image!
Loading...[PB99IMG.zip]

I'm really new to all this and any help is more than welcome!
Well as far as I can see that's not an error message, since I get the same messages when booting into my Recovery mode on Nexus One (and mine is working).
Did you try wiping the phone and / or flashing your previous ROM again?
Thx for your reply.
Yeah I tried factory resetting it. To flash a ROM do I need to have a working phone, or just a working bootloader ? And how do I know my bootloader is still working ?
From what I understood the bootloader is the menu you get in when pressing [Volume down] while turning your phone on. If so, I do have a working bootloader, and the last (but not least) thing I need to be working is a recovery.
So I tried to re-install unrevoked while running Linux, but Linux doesn't recognize the device. I'll give it another try while running windows since it recognizes the phone if it's in recovery mode.
In case it doesn't work, is there anything else I can try besides sending the phone back to HTC ?

The same thing happened to me several weeks ago while working on some settings and updates. I freaked out a lot, but this is what worked for me. It may work for you:
1. Remove the battery from the handset
2. Press & hold the power button on the handset for 10 seconds
3. Re-insert the battery
4. Press your volume down/up button (depending on what device you have) and while holding it, press the Power button.
I would suggest making a Nand Backup once you're in the HBOOT screen, but before you do it, chose the USB-PC Toggle option so that you can go into your phone via Windows Explorer and remove any flashable zip file your SD may have other than the ROM you want to flash.
what happend when you enter the recovery menu by selecting it with volum button and then power button to enter ? does it reboot into a green menu called clockworkmod ?
did you ever download a custom rom, such as for example defrost.zip and copy the file without unzipping it to your sd card, then select wipe all stuff you have and install that rom (zip) file. did you do that ?
i am also new to it and i have the same phone as you, but all works great for me, just needed to read many posts and tutorials here, then i did it and i am happy with it.

It enters a menu with 4 items :
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
CLEAR STORAGE
SIM LOCK
Then when I select RECOVERY it enters the HTC boot screen endless loop...
I tried using unrevoked but it didn't work, then I tried using a RUU but it didn't work either.
I'm kinda loosing hope here any other idea what I can try?
SOLVED
It's alright I managed to run a RUU while the phone was in the fastboot submenu of the HBOOT
well I got the same problem.
Is there a real solution to it?
entering in nandroid just wont work.
As I said running a RUU worked, even though it wiped all the data off the phone.

cant enter recovery mode

Hi, i did have my phone root some time and everything was perfect, but i tried to install some updates and it did go wrong. I couldnt get into recovery mode anymore, i could install recovery img. and no errors, but when trying to enter recovery the screen is white with green htc logo. I then installed stock ICS and the phone works okey, the HBOOT (volume down and power on) says unlocked and S-OFF, but i cant enter recovery mode and i have installed recovery img from fastboot and with HTC One X software, but no luck. When trying to start clockworkmod i get error that some su folders dont exist, thats why i want to go into recovery to install su-2.3.6.3xxxxx BUT I CANT, HELP! Is it possible to install su from the HBOOT, it search for some PG58xx.img files when entering, can i trick the phone to install su with renaming it to that?
So when u goto su it says u have no root? Have u tried to install 4ext? Or try adb to recovery
try step #2 from this thread (only step #2)
With EXT4 i was able to get into recovery again, thanx. I had tried CWM5.8.4.0 and TWRP 2.1.7 without any luck. I then installed the SU from recovery, now the error about directory didnt exist in Clockworkmod is gone, BUT i still get error like "An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands!"
Solved. I had to install su binary 3.1.1
Revolutionary ran but small problems
I followed the directions on how to root my Sensation by using Revolutionary. I also installed the ClockworkMod when asked at the end of the Revolutionary process. My present situation is this: According to Revolutionary (when I load it up again) I am already S-Off...what are you trying to do message appears. After that I tried to install Set CPU but it said it could not get the correct permissions (I also installed superuser but don't now how to add permissions, I think it would ask automatically if I was properly rooted). I checked the root status with Root Check basic and it said NO.
Lastly, if I try to start the phone up in fasboot mode (power button/volume down depressed nothing happens until I release both and it goes into a regular Android boot mode. If I go into Revolutionary and do the clockwordmod installation again and ask the phone to reboot into fasboot it works...but when I shut the phone down and try to get in fasboot mode.....doesn't happen.
My phone works fine otherwise.
Any ideas anyone?
Thank you.

you are getting completely confused with SOFF and root to device
understand the terms
here read the below guide
Android Terms
now the clockworkmod you have isa custom recovery ..it wont root your device
now to go to bootloader/fastboot using power + volume down buttons ..you need to first uncheck fastboot from settings->power
one you go to bootloader ..you go to recovery from there (that is cwm ..and you need to flash a root zip file )
then you will have root on the phone
EDIT: SOFF means security off ..once you gain that ..you can change the recovery to a custom one ..also you can flash custom roms ...

Insted to uncheck fastboot, take out the battery (and the charger), insert the battery, vol down + power on.
root zip file is the same as SU.something(3.1.1)binary.zip, correct?
Rooted
I fiddled with the phone a little more last night and determined that I might not have had a good install of superuser. I downloaded a different file from a different source, installed it and a different file for CWM and voila...I have root. I still don't have the ability to go into fastboot by holding the power button and volume down button at boot up. The screen just remains black and when I let go of the buttons, it vibrates and goes into the standard boot up.
Also, is anyone using Set CPU on this phone? I guess I have to disable Perflock or something....is it ok to disable this?
Thanks all for your responses.

You have to put the phone realy off first. Remove the charger, takeoutthe battery and then insert the bat. and try voldown+poweron. OR uncheck the fastboot option in the settings.
Both worked

You are 100% correct, thank you. Taking out the battery worked and so did turning off the fastboot option on the power menu in settings.
Thanks so much guys. It's nice to know you can submit a problem on a comment board and people will give you straight answers without making counterproductive comments.
One more subject....Is it OK to disable Perflock so SET CPU or ANUTU CPU controller can correctly recognize the CPU frequencies? And do these programs provide beneficial processing power and/or extended battery life? Any maximum setting recommended for overclocking?
Thanks again!

[Q] HELP! ZTE RACER bricked after rooting!

Hi! Sorry about this rude way but I am in an emergency situation.
I have a ZTE RACER with Android 2.2.2 (official ZTE Frimware) which it keeps rebooting at the splash screen.
Before that, I did a root using SuperOneClick 2.3.3 by Shortfuse. After following the instructions (USB debug, plug-in, root) I've rebooted the phone normally (NOT with adb), and when it got after the ZTE Logo (the first one, not the splash screen and not the Android logo). The animation goes a little and freezes for a few seconds, then restarts automaticly (but not entirely, just repeats the splash screen) and reboot. Rance and repeat! I tried to unroot, but the app hangs, restarting with adb and nothing happens. adb restart command doesn't help that much. What should I do to fix it?
Additional info:
Phone recives adb commands normally.
Possibly Superuser app was leftover before unrooting and rooting again (yes I already did root, but superuser stoped working properly afer app and su files update)
Can't go to FTM Mode, ROM Manager gave me a broken CWM.
Unsure If I can install CWM manually since SD doesn't seem to get mounted.
Phone Info:
ZTE-RACER
Android 2.2.2 (FROYO_P2XXGV_V1.0.0_B2)
CWM 5.0.x (Installed with ROM Manager. Broken.)
Carrier: GR COSMOTE (that's unknown carrier for you.)
Thanks for any help.
P.S.: Does anyone here is greek and has a ZTE RACER with the official 2.2 upgrade? I need the FTM Mode.
From what you have said, it seems like you are in a soft brick not a hard one. This means that there is chance of recovery but you have to be very careful.
You weren't rude so don't worry bout that.
You may want to try a hard reset.
Now that we have identified the problem, you have the ability to try and find it yourself at least.
It is possible to manually flash the generic default 2.2 and this will restore your device.
or
turn off your phone and then press power button and volume up button.Programing will open and there is a option of reset and restore.By using volume button go to reset and restore option and then press power button and home key programing will start and your phone will reset.
Hit thanks if you found this useful.

For the first one, I don't know how since the only way I had was to reflash it with the 1-Click Update (I did that on my ZTE MF636 3G Modem).
About the second, you mean that I must use the adb command, or I just hold it down without connecting it (I am newbie to the Android), but thanks for the help. I'll keep you posted for the results.
(NOTE: 1-click update is the offline frimware updater made by ZTE.)
if the logo appears look for a solution, if nothing happens buy a new one because is a full brick

Logo appears but... I still don't get it.
Was that for CWM? Or for the phone?
CWM is broken by the ROM Manager. After installing, I tried to get in, but it got frozen to the Android logo + the red led is on. (Temporal brick).
Should I flash a working CWM to the phone?
Anyone?
If there is a working CWM recovery .img file for your device, flash that using fastboot.

a) I am not sure if it works but for sure it doesn't come from ROM Manager.
b)Where do I find fastboot and what's the command?
Anyone, please?
I think you get it when you install the SDK, along with ADB. You put your phone into fastboot mode, plug the USB into your computer, and use fastboot flash_image to flash the .img file to your device's recovery partition.
If you can boot your device into fastboot mode, search for "Android Flash Recovery" by Bill.Weckel (Windows only). That'll be the easiest way.

This command doesn't work. Is it fastboot flash recovery [image_file]?
Will somebody please help me out!
Here is the thread for Android Flash Recovery:

Doesn't work! It does detect it, but it can't flash it (on normal boot only. On recovery/bootloader it just getting bricked). Any other options? Or I have to send it for reflashing?

It's deadly you shouldn't have taken out the usb even if it is stuck, keep waiting that's what is important! And the earlier issue was easy no need to Flash RUU!
If you burnt Nand and flashed RUU over it well your phone is over sorry to say it!
If bootloader doesn't show up only thing you can do is flash ruu again until it shows up
Otherwise you can't do anything, my suggestion take it to customer care they can't check if you ever unlocked it because your phone is bricked!
Sorry for you

try this..........1st. relock bootloader
Run the RUU on your computer but don't connect phone or cancel it (it extracts to temp folder on comp) keep the installation window open otherwise it deletes the temp files needed, on your comp browse to c:\users>your_profile_name_>appdata>local>temp (btw its hidden folder) you`ll see folder like this "{72971B53-1555-4F5F-ABDC-C36F174FE9C2}" inside that folder find the file "rom" copy it to your desktop, once done close the RUU installation setup (press cancel or something).....next rename the "rom" file you have on desktop to "PJ03IMG" without quotes......next copy that to your sdcard (via which ever means possible) put sdcard into phone and boot into bootloader (hold vol down and press power button) when bootloader appears it scans sdcard for .zips and .img files for stock RUU...it should start the process of re-installing the RUU package, all should be fine.....once its finished let it reboot then you can unlock bootloader again and root/flash recovery.....hope it helps

RUU the normal way and wait for 5 hours(if it gets stuck @54%)
Hi.. if you haven't fixed your Pico yet,
Try this
Unlock bootloader
try this command
Fastboot Flash recovery recovery.img
(Flash twrp recovery with this command ~see twrp recovery section )
Then
fastboot boot recovery
Now you will be in recovery without going to bootloader
Now try cuteprince procedure
Then try ruu.
Unlock
Flash any custom Rom.
And Voila
Your phone boots
Enjoy
PS:if a step doesn't work /you don't know how to do that step, skip that step ~nothing will happen, even if you miss an very important step. Go to next step.

First download a ROM and place it on your memory card. Go to cwm.. > mounts and storage > format data cache boot system.
go to main menu.. > do a factory reset...
go to advanced > do wipe dalvik cache
install zip from sd card > choose ROM.zip.. > flash..
reboot..

[Q] Red Triangle on Android Man

I have a Xoom WiFi on Android 4.1.2
I was trying to Unlock, Flash Recovery, Root and then Flash a Rom. I have Flashed on my phone a couple of times so I am a little familiar with the process.
I did the following:
1.
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot reboot
2.
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery "name of file".img. (the file i used was "recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.1-wingray.img").
3.
Once you have verification on your device that this has been flashed, reboot your device by holding volume up + power.
Then 3 seconds after you see the Motorola logo, hit volume down. You should now see "Android Recovery" in the top left corner. Hit volume up to boot into recovery.
This is where things go wrong.
Upon reboot,
I press down volume upon seeing the logo.
It then says Android Recovery.
I then press up volume.
then it says entering Android Recovery Mode
reading ODM Fuse:1
Then the Green Android man shows up with the red triangle.
It sits there for a while then boots into Android normally.
I have been searching for a solution since this morning. Everything I found about this has not helped.
Earlier in the day I did Flash a different Recovery so I think I have two. I installed the ROM manger app. It shows two installed.
ClockworkMod Recovery
Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP)
I am stuck as to what to do... Please help.
Thanks
Jim

Please follow the Root Method mentioned in the 2nd Post of LAIOT thread . You can easily find it within the Development Forum , or my signature.

One of the files link is broken.
The requested URL /atftas/OEM/Motorola/XOOM/Xoom-Universal-Root.zip2 was not found on this server.
I have another problem.
Now I have two devices. If I unplug the Xoom it still finds emulator 5554. What is emulator 5554?
Thanks
Jim
I got around the emulator 5554 problem by using the -d option. I followed everything and all went fine. I installed the app Root Checker Basic but it says Sorry! this device does not have proper root access.
All steps completed with no errors.
I guess I'm stuck again.
Jim
I flashed back to stock. Did all the steps again and the same thing.
I tried several more times and it still would not work.
I went to another site and downloaded the root.zip and it worked this time. The root file on this site would not work for for some reason.
The Android man with the red triangle problem is also gone. Not sure what fixed it. I assume that it was because I flashed back to stock and used a different root.zip file.
Thanks for all the help
Jim
