[q] re-flash the bootloader !! - HTC Pico (Explorer)

HI friends ...
My htc explorer is stuck.!!!
when it boots , it directly shows HTC logo (and got stuck there),, the bootloader is corrupted..
is there any way to re-flash the bootloader on HTC explorer...
PLZ PLZ HELP.. URGENTLY NEEDED..

Explain it a little more.
Bootloader can't corrupt and you can't flash bootloader again, first of all is your phone unlocked?
If it is unlocked and you can flash another Rom
Or, take out battery put it back press volume down and power together scroll down using volume down and select factory reset press power button to selection

It's deadly you shouldn't have taken out the usb even if it is stuck, keep waiting that's what is important! And the earlier issue was easy no need to Flash RUU!
If you burnt Nand and flashed RUU over it well your phone is over sorry to say it!
If bootloader doesn't show up only thing you can do is flash ruu again until it shows up
Otherwise you can't do anything, my suggestion take it to customer care they can't check if you ever unlocked it because your phone is bricked!
Sorry for you

try this..........1st. relock bootloader
Run the RUU on your computer but don't connect phone or cancel it (it extracts to temp folder on comp) keep the installation window open otherwise it deletes the temp files needed, on your comp browse to c:\users>your_profile_name_>appdata>local>temp (btw its hidden folder) you`ll see folder like this "{72971B53-1555-4F5F-ABDC-C36F174FE9C2}" inside that folder find the file "rom" copy it to your desktop, once done close the RUU installation setup (press cancel or something).....next rename the "rom" file you have on desktop to "PJ03IMG" without quotes......next copy that to your sdcard (via which ever means possible) put sdcard into phone and boot into bootloader (hold vol down and press power button) when bootloader appears it scans sdcard for .zips and .img files for stock RUU...it should start the process of re-installing the RUU package, all should be fine.....once its finished let it reboot then you can unlock bootloader again and root/flash recovery.....hope it helps

If you read no.9 of his post>>>>
all you have to do is RUU the normal way via windows installer, even if you have error sign on all four corners the RUU package has repair option if upgrade fails....you just have to wait......the phone should still be detected as usb/fastboot is still enabled so its not hard bricked.....then follow my original post to get back stock rom.........I`ve recovered from this before

At least tell, which part you don't understand.
RUU the normal way and wait for 5 hours(if it gets stuck @54%)

Hi.. if you haven't fixed your Pico yet,
Try this
Unlock bootloader
try this command
Fastboot Flash recovery recovery.img
(Flash twrp recovery with this command ~see twrp recovery section )
Then
fastboot boot recovery
Now you will be in recovery without going to bootloader
Now try cuteprince procedure
Then try ruu.
Unlock
Flash any custom Rom.
And Voila
Your phone boots
Enjoy
PS:if a step doesn't work /you don't know how to do that step, skip that step ~nothing will happen, even if you miss an very important step. Go to next step.

First download a ROM and place it on your memory card. Go to cwm.. > mounts and storage > format data cache boot system.
go to main menu.. > do a factory reset...
go to advanced > do wipe dalvik cache
install zip from sd card > choose ROM.zip.. > flash..
reboot..

[Q] HTC Desire down, stuck at the HTC boot screen after bad update

Hi everyone,
Let's go straight to the point here's what took my phone down :
I had HTC Desire that I rooted with unrevoked. A several days ago I was notified that a new OTA update (the 2.29.405.2 version, the 28.89MB zip file) was available, so I downloaded it and tried to install it. The update wouldn't install as my phone was rooted. I found on some forum some guy that said he had the same problem and managed to install the update by renaming the zip file update.zip and moving it to the root of the SD card so this is what I did.
Now my phone is stuck at the HTC white boot screen, keeps rebooting. When I boot it in recovery mode it displays an error message (see attached file) like :
SD cheking....

No image!
Loading...[PB99DIAG.nbh]
No image or wrong image!
Loading...[PB99IMG.zip]
No image!
Loading...[PB99IMG.nbh]
No image or wrong image!
I'm really new to all this and any help is more than welcome!
Well as far as I can see that's not an error message, since I get the same messages when booting into my Recovery mode on Nexus One (and mine is working).
Did you try wiping the phone and / or flashing your previous ROM again?
Thx for your reply.
Yeah I tried factory resetting it. To flash a ROM do I need to have a working phone, or just a working bootloader ? And how do I know my bootloader is still working ?
From what I understood the bootloader is the menu you get in when pressing [Volume down] while turning your phone on. If so, I do have a working bootloader, and the last (but not least) thing I need to be working is a recovery.
So I tried to re-install unrevoked while running Linux, but Linux doesn't recognize the device. I'll give it another try while running windows since it recognizes the phone if it's in recovery mode.
In case it doesn't work, is there anything else I can try besides sending the phone back to HTC ?

The same thing happened to me several weeks ago while working on some settings and updates. I freaked out a lot, but this is what worked for me. It may work for you:
1. Remove the battery from the handset
2. Press & hold the power button on the handset for 10 seconds
3. Re-insert the battery
4. Press your volume down/up button (depending on what device you have) and while holding it, press the Power button.
I would suggest making a Nand Backup once you're in the HBOOT screen, but before you do it, chose the USB-PC Toggle option so that you can go into your phone via Windows Explorer and remove any flashable zip file your SD may have other than the ROM you want to flash.
what happend when you enter the recovery menu by selecting it with volum button and then power button to enter ? does it reboot into a green menu called clockworkmod ?
did you ever download a custom rom, such as for example defrost.zip and copy the file without unzipping it to your sd card, then select wipe all stuff you have and install that rom (zip) file. did you do that ?
i am also new to it and i have the same phone as you, but all works great for me, just needed to read many posts and tutorials here, then i did it and i am happy with it.

It enters a menu with 4 items :
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
CLEAR STORAGE
SIM LOCK
Then when I select RECOVERY it enters the HTC boot screen endless loop...
I tried using unrevoked but it didn't work, then I tried using a RUU but it didn't work either.
I'm kinda loosing hope here any other idea what I can try?
SOLVED
It's alright I managed to run a RUU while the phone was in the fastboot submenu of the HBOOT
well I got the same problem.
Is there a real solution to it?
entering in nandroid just wont work.
As I said running a RUU worked, even though it wiped all the data off the phone.

Desire S Stuck on HTC logo, bootloader stuck as well.

Hi everyone
I have a desire S that gets stuck on the HTC logo in startup and won't boot.
When i try to get to the bootloader- it works, but if i try to do anything, it just gets stuck.
Trying to get to recovery- it turns off and vibrates 7 times.
I try to do a factory reset- the moment i press the power button it gets stuck and won't respond
Same for everything else.
Anyone knows what can i do with this?
The device is unrooted, but S-off.
Did you even look before you made this thread? The most recent thread was from a user with what sounds like the same problem as you. Here's the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2241721
Sent from my Desire S using xda app-developers app
Yes, i looked. a LOT.
This is not the same problem at all- he can get to recovery properly and do a factory reset, while i can't.
Well, perhaps you have done already, some things i 'll mention but..
Simpliest:
1. Remove battery and wait at least a minute before putting it back
( preferably switch the phone off- if you can )
2. Boot it again, connect to pc, check whether fastboot sees your device...
( you said you're not able to boot the system on it- so no ADB )
Try to reboot via fastboot issuing command
fastboot reboot
In case it didn't work
1.flash recovery again ( clockworkmod or 4ext )
and see what happens-when you'll have succeded,
try again to get to recovery from bootloader,
Optional:
when you get there , flash superuser zip
( If you'll still not be able to boot in to system , you may attempt to flash
some other rom- as .zip via recovery )
2. May also attempt to restore factory image on the phone ( RUU )
which proceeds from fastboot...
If all the above fails, there is an article you may be interested in reading,
that hopefully is not your case but....your call

Edit: if it is unrooted, it may even still have stock recovery -
nothing you may easily interact with, on the level given by custom...

Hi,
Download a working boot.img of a kernel/sense ROM
Then put it in main folder of adb stuffs, then open command prompt and navigate there, while your phone is connected via usb in bootloader, then type this:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

Here is a guide on flashing boot.img
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631861
Read the flashing boot.img section in this thread
Also since you are flashing with S-On, I would suggest you follow the other stuff in this thread too...specially the part about using 4EXT recovery
I too had this problem when I flashed my first rom.....it is because our phone is S-On and cannot update the boot partition on its own...it has to be done manually....the best solution to this problem is using 4EXT recovery

enable usb debugging mode from settings
boot to the bootloader and connect the device to pc(in the hboot screen should say fastboot usb)
if it doesn't say that select fastboot
extract the boot.img from your current rom you have installed and place it in your adb and fastboot folder(in your pc)
open in that folder a cmd window and type the command
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot

Hi ,
i tried to reflash my phone with Venom S3.1.2 , the one which i had earlier installed . The installation completes without any error but the device reboots over and over and comes to the recovery screen itself.
I tried to restore a backed up file .It says MD5 checksum error.. Does it makes sense?
Shouold i root my device once again or something like that?
Could you please explain how i can change my recovery from cwm to 4ext or probably direct me there ?

Download this program for your computer, follow the instructions, Flash your phone back to stock (using bricked mode), You will need to re-install a custom recovery, and then flash in the rom ect...
Make sure you do a clean flash, for ANYTHING you install on your phone..

1. make some coffee
2. get a comfy chair
3. read, read, read...
4. now that you have read about your issue and how to use the toolkit.. (while you are shaking your head no, and are just continuing to read only this...)
5. I am assuming that you are unlocked and have the correct drivers installed, because you already read and followed the instructions.. ;P
6. Boot into your bootloader.. (volume + and power)
7. Open the program (nexus root toolkit)
8. Plug your phone into your computer using the usb cable
9. Using the program, click the "flash to stock" (bricked) option.. If your device isn't recognized, or connected.. You missed a step while you were reading and learning about how to use the toolkit.. or if you don't have a recovery image, you need to find one, or possibly the tookit can download it for you..
10. Keep clicking "ok"
11. A black box will open on your computer.. telling you that it's fixing your phone.. your phone will reboot and you'll celebrate!!..
Now you have a restored to stock phone, without a custom recovery, it isn't rooted, but it is unlocked..
12. You want a custom phone?
13. Use the toolkit that you have now mastered.. because you read on how to do this..
14. Download the .zip files you want to install on your phone (making sure that it is for your phone, as wrong files will break your phone) transfer them to your phone...
15. You open and use the toolkit, ADVANCED/ BOOT RECOVERY... WIPE (DALVIK, CACHE, DATA)/ INSTALL ZIP(s) wiping dalvik and cache for additional installs.. ROM, then KERNEL, then ect..
16. You become addicted to flashing, thinking you can make it better, faster, better battery..
17. You break it again and re-read this, and the other forums you didn't read the first time.. and start over again.. lol..

[Q] Need Help MB865, Custom ROM problem

Hi friends,
After the installation of Custom ROM (CyanogenMod), an error started appearing at top bar on every boot saying "Customer ID error, contact the provider. Boot to Suspended/TCMD"... I'm 100 sure that I've made backUp of CID during ROM installation via BMM.
It kept going for many days and suddenly one day my Atrix2 went on Stock ROM automatically while booting which was missing & hence Robotic Android sign with Caution appeared on screen. I, then, restarted my phone but only white screen appeared showing nothing :[email protected]
Now my phone will boot, but only as far as the Motorola splash screen, then it has only white screen for one or half minute and then again reboot automatically, and this circle will continue....
I tried Flash Boot using RSD_Lite while going to AP FastBoot but it didn't detect my phone, although I've installed all the necessary drivers for my phone (I think that's might because of missing IMEI).
Is there any expert who can help me to bring my phone back???
You need reboot via BP tools to boot your phone. Then you'll need root it, then progrm reboot your phone - screen turns black - hold both vol buttons to enter bootmenu when choose with vol down button bp tools and enter it with power button. A
When install bmm and reboot your phone. Restore your cid via bmm

Thanx Bro, everything went good but after rooting my Atrix2, when I go to bmm recovery during boot and select "Restore CID" my sd card is opened but I am unable to find the Backup file of CID.
For further investigations I selected BACKUP CID, and i got message that FILE ALREADY EXIST.
It means my CID file is present somewhere but i'm unable to find it. The path shown is as ----> ( Path : /ext )
Figured it out!
Thanks Guyz for your support, I figured the problem out...
BMM made a folder as "ClockWorkMod" on sd card where it placed the .img file of CID and all back-ups.
