Download this program for your computer, follow the instructions, Flash your phone back to stock (using bricked mode), You will need to re-install a custom recovery, and then flash in the rom ect...
Make sure you do a clean flash, for ANYTHING you install on your phone..

1. make some coffee
2. get a comfy chair
3. read, read, read...
4. now that you have read about your issue and how to use the toolkit.. (while you are shaking your head no, and are just continuing to read only this...)
5. I am assuming that you are unlocked and have the correct drivers installed, because you already read and followed the instructions.. ;P
6. Boot into your bootloader.. (volume + and power)
7. Open the program (nexus root toolkit)
8. Plug your phone into your computer using the usb cable
9. Using the program, click the "flash to stock" (bricked) option.. If your device isn't recognized, or connected.. You missed a step while you were reading and learning about how to use the toolkit.. or if you don't have a recovery image, you need to find one, or possibly the tookit can download it for you..
10. Keep clicking "ok"
11. A black box will open on your computer.. telling you that it's fixing your phone.. your phone will reboot and you'll celebrate!!..
Now you have a restored to stock phone, without a custom recovery, it isn't rooted, but it is unlocked..
12. You want a custom phone?
13. Use the toolkit that you have now mastered.. because you read on how to do this..
14. Download the .zip files you want to install on your phone (making sure that it is for your phone, as wrong files will break your phone) transfer them to your phone...
15. You open and use the toolkit, ADVANCED/ BOOT RECOVERY... WIPE (DALVIK, CACHE, DATA)/ INSTALL ZIP(s) wiping dalvik and cache for additional installs.. ROM, then KERNEL, then ect..
16. You become addicted to flashing, thinking you can make it better, faster, better battery..
17. You break it again and re-read this, and the other forums you didn't read the first time.. and start over again.. lol..

Just flash a full rom, it should restore the radio, the recovery, and the OS. Then do a reset to factory defaults if you are paranoid.
Get the proper rom for you phone here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1063664
If you're on T-Mobile, you have an i9020-T, this should work for you. It is the full 2.3.6 image.
http://android.clients.google.com/p...a25375426.signed-soju-ota-189904.1ada2537.zip
Is this also working if you're coming from stock unrooted ICS 4.0.3 ?
And
Is there any risk of loosing IMEI if you're going full ROM ?

I have reverted back from 4.0.3 yesterday by reflashing the full 2.3.6 rom without any issues. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by losing IMEI.
My phone works just fine after doing this (more than once!).

Ok here's my problem i did the ics update earlier before you told me this and still having issues, now when I go to recovery I get a android with his chest open with a red caution sign on it...how could I just format everything, essentially make it the way it was out of box so I could start over...because of all the issues I'm currently having.
When you get to that point, you need to hold down power then press vol up. Then you will be able to flash the zip. You need to put the zip on the phone first though, unless you have CWM recovery, in which case you can mount the sdcard section and move it across then, and flash it after.
OK thanks...Just please let's summarize this
1.You were on I9020T bone stock , unrooted
2.You had GB 2.3.6
3.You updated manually (or OTA) to 4.0.3
4.You decided to revert to GB 2.3.6
5.You used exactly the same method of manual update (stock recovery after copying the .zip file and in this case the full ROM of 2.3.6 to SD)
6.You followed the stock recovery steps and chose the .zip 2.3.6..
7.After everything was setup , you booted into GB 2.3.6 without any problems
Is that right ? or better if you make the exact detailed steps you did to revert to GB 2.3.6 would be apreciated
Thanks

how would I go about flashing the custom recovery? I tried to flash another full rom package with the recovery in it and like i said i got that error...
Do you have a folder in windows where you have been flashing stuff from, using fastboot?
If so, just get this recovery image http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988686
Download either the blue or green 5023 image. Doesnt matter which just changes colour of mod place the file in the same folder as the fastboot.
Next, with the phone off and after attaching the phone to USB, turn it on while pressing vol-up and power. You should see the boot option screen, the fastboot screen. Leave the phone there.
Now go back to cmd window in windows, and browse to the folder where you have all the fastboot files and where you have put the above image file. Then type in the following:
fastboot flash recovery <image name.img> (without the < >)
press enter and it'll flash the recovery and then you can install the old version of android

I don't believe I have a folder as such, being a person who is not familiar with the lingo, etc of all this i rooted it with one-click mod, and just flash things through this, are you saying I can flash things externally? sorry to sound like a bum, but i'm trying to understand thanks.
No problem, we're all noobs once, hell i still am and only just coming to terms with it all! Just need to do a bit of researching, but heres the basics...
fastboot lets you flash stuff to the phone from windows, when the phone is attached to the USB and is in fastboot mode (just turned on, from vol-up/pwr).
Can unlock the boot loader and flash recovery images from there. Once thats done, most other stuff can be done from within the new recovery mode, clockworkmod being the one that everyone uses.
over at nexusshacks it's explained really well how to root your phone. And he provides a zip with everything you could want. That zip is the folder I was talking about in the last post. It comes with drivers to install when you first plug the USB in and the PC recognises the phone. Download the pack, install them drivers and then go back to my last post and take it from there
http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/NexusS/rooting/nexussrootnew.zip
EDIT: Also do a full wipe/data reset just before you flash the new rom

I'm using clockwork right now, but it seems to be corrupted, im running 4.0.3 right now on a full rom package, so your saying I should still do this? I think i may have done all that before, as the phone is rooted, but I used the one-click method instead.
Just download that file and then you'll have what you need on your pc to do what i mentioned above. Plug the phone in and reflash the new recovery which will not harm it, and then you'll be able to stick gingerbread or ICS back on. You gotta try things out otherwise you'll not understand what is going on. I dont know of any one click thing that will let you go back to default as it was before. After it flashes the new recovery, scroll down to "recovery" on the screen and press the power button, dont restart the system.
In hindsight, while the one click methods are easy to use, theyre getting used by people that dont do the necessary research to learn about the rooting and flashing process. This means you end up skipping so much that you learn about the whole rooting and flashing proocess when doing it manually, which in turn means you have more trouble getting out of it if you want it back to the way it was! No offence intended here, but you just need to man up and do it! All will be well
I followed the instructions on the following website in order install jelly bean onto the blaze.
wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_t769
I finished the first part of the instructions up until where it says "You need now to manually reboot the phone into ClockworkMod Recovery mode by holding ." I did not know what to press since it has nothing after the word "holding" in the sentence. I did some research on Google to figure out how to do this, but without any luck. So, I think I just pressed the volume and up + down+power keys all together and then released the keys after the screen turned off and I felt 2 vibrations. after a few seconds the screen turned back on and it displayed the following:
==========================================
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-T769
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: YES(1 COUNTS)
CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM
**shows an image with phone, computer screen, and a yellow warning sign**
FIRMWARE UPGRADE ENCOUNTERED AN ISSUE. PLEASE SELECT RECOVERY MODE IN KIES & TRY AGAIN.
===========================================
Now, no matter what I do, the phone keeps booting to this screen. As I understand it, I have to boot into recovery mode manually and then follow the instructions from the second part of the instructions list and install the jelly bean OS. How do I proceed from here because no mater what i do like removing the battery, sim and sd card and powering up again, it keeps going to this screen and it won't go beyond it. should i have followed the instructions on that site? and by the way, the only reason why I didn't follow any other site installation instructions is because I thought it would be flawless since it's an official instructions page for the cyangenmod ROM.
Thanks to everyone in advance for your kind help.

Just a soft brick. Very common, and very easy to fix. Unfortunately, I don't really know what to do. I think you must flash another proper firmware in Odin.. don't quote me on that though... just letting you know you can take a sigh of relief.

ok great that's good news!..
so i did some research and found that i need to use fastboot with adb to install this rom. but I cant find any instructions on google that tells me in clear simple language how to use it properly. i have the fastboot and adb files. i am able to run the fastboot console application successfully. but, i dont know what to do at this point. The phone is in the download mode warning screen where it tells me to press volume up or down keys. I have the phone plugged into the computer. so, is the battery being charged right now? I'm afraid it may die on me.
I'm reading those instructions from wiki.cyanogenmod.org for this and it is very unclear and meant for advanced users. I need plain simple instructions..
I typed in "adb reboot bootloader" and it says "error: device not found" and typing "fastboot update cm-10.0.0-t769.zip" says "<waiting for device>" but nothing happens.. it just hangs there.. and this was happening even after I installed the official samsung drivers for this phone.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help out this noob. thanks.

thank you for this info..
Following the instructions above restored the phone to the older stock rom for the blaze. so, what I am going to do is find clear, simple instructions on how to update the phone to jelly bean 4.1.2.
before restoring to stock though I managed to find a key combination to get the phone into the clockwork recovery mode screen. [press and hold volume up + down + power keys --> then when you see the samsung logo, release the power key while still holding down the volume up + down keys.. hold the keys for a few seconds and then release. --> recovery screen should be displayed] so I did a factory reset and then put the custom rom on the SD by inserting the SD card into the computer and then inserting it into the phone. I then chose the option to install the zip file from the SD card but it says "can't open file (bad)". This was the latest stable version of cyanogenmod. I tried nightly versions too and i got the same error message. I don't know if my sd card is screwed up. I doubt it, because I was able to use it with the phone a few days ago. how should I install the jelly bean update?
should i do it through rom manager or via the SD card? can someone please point me in the right direction? thanks.
Yeah, your doing to much work. All you need is download mode and Odin.
Fix the soft brick from the above link. Then just go the cwm Odin thread, flash cwm. Then install any ROM you want from the Dev section. Don't use wiki for any info on the blaze. Use xda!! Everything you need is here, including helpful folks!

You were probably in the stock recovery, that's why it didn't flash.
Since you restocked, go to this thread and flash cwm recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591622
Then boot to it and flash the latest cm10 nightly and gapps from the cm thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922935

Theres a zip file called "gapps..." short from Google Apps, you need to install that too on top of the CM nightly zip file in order to get the ROM working.
Now that you back in the stock 2.3.6, you need to instal CWM again because you wiped it instaling thru Odin.
Once you have CWM, and the 2 zip files - CM nightly and the gapps, you go thru CWM and wipe the system first... then install the files, CM first, gapps after, heres what u need to do in CWM:
1. Advanced-->Wipe Dalvik Cache
2. Wipe Cache
3. Factory Reset
4. Install zip from SD card-->Choose zip from SD-->install CM nightly zip
5. Install zip from SD card-->Choose zip from SD card-->install gapps zip

I just had something similar happen. Yesterday my phone started boot looping and it eventually got to the point where it wouldn't load past the Samsung screen. I did a bit of googling and followed the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591601 to a T. Everything worked on Odin, but now I'm stuck at the firmware upgrade encountered an issue. I tried to do it again and it all works but I get a NAND WRITE: ptn_erase fail on my device over and over, but Odin says it passed. I feel like I've tried everything. Any suggestions would be wonderful. Thanks!

Reboot to Odin mode and connect your mobile to your PC. Download Odin to your PC. Then search a method on how to flash stock rom on Galaxy Fit with Odin. Follow the instructions.

Colud you take backup from your sd card and formatted again and put rom and recovery versions you have.and test again

and follow
First of all, the phone is not bricked, obviously as long as it has a recovery and will turn on at all. As for a fix, try a seperate-file firmware flash, google "upgrade galaxy fit to 2.3.4", or something like that, also, try flashing a CWM recovery with ODIN, and just flash a CM7 ZIP or any other ROM, it will not be able to mount /system/ beucase the default samsung SYSTEM format is EFS, which CWM can not read, it can only read EXT file systems, soooo, install the recovery and a custom ROM, see what happens
Flash Froyo!
Hey there,I also suffered a lot sue to this ! Ultimately i flashed a froyo rom and everything was back to normal! :good:
@Enymous
Just ask ur friend what he did to the phone!!:sly:
Usb debugging needs to be enabled.
Next thing is:- Stop worrying!! Flash the same firmware version(if u remembered exactly) which came preinstalled from factory. It may b froyo or gingerbread. Download that particular firmware & note that if u were having froyo preinstalled & have downloaded the same exact firmware, then it must be a 4 package firmware(i.e. containing 4 files when u uncompress it). U can use Odin 4.42 & follow this sequence (even if u know) :
*Install Samsung mobile drivers on pc.
*Take out & reinsert battery.
*Press "HOME,POWER,VOLUME-DOWN" buttons together for download mode.
*Launch Odin 4.42 as administrator.
* Connect the phone to pc & wait till u see COM PORT mapping box turned yellow.
* Now set the files from the froyo package that u downloaded in exactly the same sequence as follows:
OPS: BENI_v1.0.ops
BOOT: APBOOT_S5670.....tar.md5
PHONE: MODEM_S5670.....tar.md5
PDA: CODE_S5670.....tar.md5
CSC: CSC_S5670.....tar.md5
Press start & wait till u see "PASSED"
Meanwhile ur phone will reboot.
Then it will b back to life(with froyo) guaranteed.
First try these steps!! I know it 100% works. coz I m used to all these issues.
Good Luck!!
Hope this helps...!!
Hey. Just a few days ago I learned hhow to use CWM and all that stuff (what a noob ikr). I installed CM12 and Elemental X kernel. I tried to install Xposed Framework but it did not work and ever since, my phone will not boot up properly. It shows the google logo, shuts down, shows google logo again and then it does the CM12 Boot animation but doesnt do anything after that. I have tried everything. Sadly, I did not have a backup for when this did not occur so I have 1 backup that has this error. I already tried clearing devlik cache and factory reseting from recovery but it doesnt work. I think if someone could tell me a very noob friendky way to install the stock rom would help. Very noob friendly.

I have, but do not understand how to do it.
Easiest way I can think of: The CM12 zip file is still on your phone. Flash it again (+ GApps) to remove Xposed again
Flashing the nightly will clear the /system partition including Xposed and overwrite it with the CM12 system again -> without Xposed. Then you should be able to boot

Yeah, not gonna work. I was being an idiot and deleted all files in download section so I can't get the nightly zip again. Should I try the CM installer from pc to android?
Nope.. Let's try to keep it as easy as possible
What recovery are you running?

Clockwork
First of all: Change your recovery to TWRP ( it has MTP available, so you can transfer files from the PC when you are in the recovery ). Use this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...ide-nexus-5-how-to-unlock-bootloader-t2507905
After that, reboot into recovery and TWRP should appear. There, go to " Mount " and tap on " Enable MTP " or something like that. After that, go to your computer and find a ROM that works ( and gapps, if you want) , connect your phone to the computer, after that copy it to your phone. Then go to " WIPE " and swipe to do a factory reset. After that go to install, select your ROM zip and flash it. After that select " Reboot to system " and if it says something about rooting your ROM, deny it ( if you want root, you'll do it later by flashing yourself the latest SuperSU, it is explained in the link with the recovery tutorial ). This should make your phone boot again, having a new ROM installed.

Follow the steps that are in the link, everything is written over there, you don't need ADB Debugging to be activated ( you can't activate it even if you want to since your phone doesn't boot) enter fastboot ( as it is shown in the tutorial and then follow the other steps)

Ok. Being that you are a super noob lol.. This could be the easiest option for you at the moment. I will give you a link to Wugs Link which should get you back to stock. But I would recommend that you learn how to use a pc to get your device back to working order in the future. Also there are tons of videos that tech you how to use adb etc. Please just read and look up tutorials and make sure you educate yourself first before diving into stuff that you are really not familiar with. Good luck...

It does matter. Go into device manager on your pc. There is probably an icon with a yellow exclamation mark, right click and go to where you can choose a driver from a list on your computer. Choose android adb composite interface.

OK, it sounds like you have a couple issues. No adb/fastboot and no drivers. Google 15 second adb install xda. Install that. That should solve both problems.

Hello,
I had some issues in phone and had to wipe all the data in it (from recovery mode) with the thought of flashing the firmware after cleanup. The only way i know to flash this firmware is by SP flash tool and here's the issue!! the phone wont connect to the pc in switch off mode which is a need of the process. I've gone through a lot of forums on different websites including this (I asked for the issue on forum but didnt get any help), a lot of forums start from after the mt65xx preloader shows in the device manager.
The things i've tried are deleting the drivers of MTK device(The only thing available related to this phone) from my pc with the help of USB Deview , Tried pressing volume up button while connecting the phone(Without battery) to pc and even inserting the battery just after connection.
Any help would be grateful..Thanks!!
P.s- Unfortunately usb debugging is off in the phone

Hi, is your device completely dead? Or it boots?
If your device's is alive, get sprout4 Stock Rom and flash it via custom recovery like Philz or TWRP!

I have found my device listed on this page but how do i flash recovery in my phone? The way i know is through ADB and that wont work.
I would like to know if theres any other way to do it .

Oww, that's cool bruh.
Hang on, I'll link you a Sprout4 Full stock ROM [latest one]
All you need to do is, just enter into recovery mode then wipe everything except micro SD, flash the given Rom zip, give few minutes, once the Flashing done, reboot!
Edit - Rom Link - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24686681827315150
*.Note that, all the sprout4 roms compatible with each other, so just download the zip, put it to your SD, reboot recovery, wipe all [Wipe system, data. except SD card ], flash that zip, reboot!
No need for ADB stuffs.

So now, @Sp5297... Your device is just bootlooping? And before this had took place, you were on stock Rom right? What was the build number?

Err... I misread that, pardon me.
AFAIK, if you wipe data / factory reset from stock recovery, then that's not at all an issue, just reboot the device that's gonna work.
You can't i guess, fastboot / ADB modes requires theyve to enabled from settings /developer option. So it was looping / you can't do that either.
First tell me what build you were on before this took place.
Flashing the very next OTA[prior to that] via stock recovery will works sometimes.
@saichin n I have the same problem with my phone, I tried to use sp frashtool but as sp5297 the phone doesn't connect with the pc (it connects only when i do apply update from ADB). When i plug in the pc without battery it's just dead. My mobile is Karbonn Sparkle V
Edit: It started to bootloop me when i tried to start a game (soccer stars official). When i start it it just crashed the UI and i restarted it via power button
