I have a Xoom WiFi on Android 4.1.2
I was trying to Unlock, Flash Recovery, Root and then Flash a Rom. I have Flashed on my phone a couple of times so I am a little familiar with the process.
I did the following:
1.
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot reboot
2.
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery "name of file".img. (the file i used was "recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.1-wingray.img").
3.
Once you have verification on your device that this has been flashed, reboot your device by holding volume up + power.
Then 3 seconds after you see the Motorola logo, hit volume down. You should now see "Android Recovery" in the top left corner. Hit volume up to boot into recovery.
This is where things go wrong.
Upon reboot,
I press down volume upon seeing the logo.
It then says Android Recovery.
I then press up volume.
then it says entering Android Recovery Mode
reading ODM Fuse:1
Then the Green Android man shows up with the red triangle.
It sits there for a while then boots into Android normally.
I have been searching for a solution since this morning. Everything I found about this has not helped.
Earlier in the day I did Flash a different Recovery so I think I have two. I installed the ROM manger app. It shows two installed.
ClockworkMod Recovery
Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP)
I am stuck as to what to do... Please help.
Thanks
Jim

One of the files link is broken.
The requested URL /atftas/OEM/Motorola/XOOM/Xoom-Universal-Root.zip2 was not found on this server.
I have another problem.
Now I have two devices. If I unplug the Xoom it still finds emulator 5554. What is emulator 5554?
Thanks
Jim
I got around the emulator 5554 problem by using the -d option. I followed everything and all went fine. I installed the app Root Checker Basic but it says Sorry! this device does not have proper root access.
All steps completed with no errors.
I guess I'm stuck again.
Jim
I flashed back to stock. Did all the steps again and the same thing.
I tried several more times and it still would not work.
I went to another site and downloaded the root.zip and it worked this time. The root file on this site would not work for for some reason.
The Android man with the red triangle problem is also gone. Not sure what fixed it. I assume that it was because I flashed back to stock and used a different root.zip file.
Thanks for all the help
Jim

Hey guys, just wondering if any of you know a fix for this on my WIFI only xoom
Using the guide from here about Wifi Unlocking and rooting Ive unlocked the bootloader on my Xoom. Ive flashed Clockwork and am up to the part where I have to boot into clockwork recovery to install the root tool, however there is no option to enter 'Android Recovery' when I push the Down key on the dual core boot screen, during the first 3 seconds of the first boot after flashing. Theres NVFlash, fastboot and another but no recovery.
I am able to get into recovery via the ADB REBOOT RECOVERY command however I dont get into Clockwork and am stuck on a screen with a green android logo in the center. Pushing any manner of buttons does nothing and the tab automatically resets after 2 or 3 mins in that mode. Has anyone else seen this and know of a fix?? Ive since learned that if you allow the tab to boot into honeycomb it installs the stock recovery and you have to start over by reflashing clockwork, as stated tho no Android Recovery option appears. Any ideas?
recovery is not installed properly.
put your recovery file in fastboot folder
rename it to recovery.img
in fastboot run: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
this recovery file is not zip file but .img file(rename it for ease of typing)
I've done it exactly like that, 3 times now. all the messages seem to indicate its flashed correctly. Heres what it says on the tab:
Flashing allowed for partition recovery
OneWire: Charger not connected
Battery Level 82%
Flashing Stormgr partition recovery Status:- done!
And i get the OKAY's in the terminal box as well. Still no Android recovery menu. I read in a dev post reguarding this same procedure a few other ppl had the same issue. I was hoping sum1 had a fix
Hi there,
I have a rooted and unlocked UK T-Mobile Atrix.
After following the CM7 Beta instructions up to this point:
While in Recovery install CM7 from internal storage
After installation select Data Wipe/Factory Reset
Then Wipe Cache Partition
Reboot system now
Watch awesome boot animation.
I rebooted, but have not seen the awesome boot animation (and I so want to see it) and am now stuck on the initial Dual Core splash screen.
I noted from a couple of posts in the CM7 thread that using Tenfar's CWM may be the cause of the issue.
Unfortunately I am unsure what to do now to fix my mistake and get a rom on the phone and boot it.
Please can someone help?
Thanks
Well...i got the same problem, maybe more worst....i`m stuck on S E logo for 7-10 seconds and after is rebooting again alone and again, i`m not able to go to xrecovery mode and as well i cannot to stay connected on my computer with the phone...is any chance to repair my phone or is time to drop on my recycle bin? Thanks!
I managed to find a solution (should have searched harder...) I followed these instructions here "code(.)google(.)com/p/atrix-dev-team/wiki/BackupRestore"
Flashing CWM Recovery via Fastboot
Download the latest CWM recovery from Downloads section (recovery-cwm-ext4.img)
Power off phone
Put phone into fastboot (Power + Vol Down Button)
Press Volume Up button to select Fastboot
Connect phone via USB cable
Open Command Prompt from your fastboot directory
Type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" (no quotation marks)
Type "fastboot reboot"
Followed by pressing volume down during the reboot, then pressing volume down repeatedly until Android Recovery appears on screen then pressing up. This allowed me to reapply the CM7 rom and all was good.
I'm not sure if this helps you Hellspawm, but good luck.
BLESS YOU! you helped out a noob in distress I had the exact same problem and it's fixed now.
Ok, so here is a problem I have never had with an android device....
I cannot get my tablet to boot into recovery..I have done it in the past as I installed revolver a long time ago (HTK75.revolver-3.11_epad-8.6.5.21-20111216)
Now I cannot get into the recovery to install a new rom....
I have rooted the phone, Good to Go.
I have downloaded and ran the recovery installer app....
I have tried using the reboot to recovery app (reboot to recovery) which just reboots and keeps my transformer at the ASUS boot screen.
I have tried the power + volume down option and this is what I get:
Android US_epad-user bootloader <e> released by "US_epad-8.6.5.21-20111216
checking for android ota recovery
skiping android ota checking
checking for RCK.. press key <VOL_UP> in 5 sec to enter RCK (So I press it)
Booting recovery kernel image
Thats is...it jsut sits there until I reboot it back to normal again....
Any advice!? I have tried so many different options I have read about on the boards...(plus google)
Try using PERI rooted option to reflash recovery, or run in term emulator with blob on device,
su
dd if=/sdcard/recoveryblob of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4
reboot
I have tried so many different apps and this one finally worked!!!!!
Your awesome, thanks man!
Thanks given
Glad it worked well :]
reset in a circle while trying to flash
Sorry for my english
Can I ask you to describe step by step how you recovered your tablet
updating its firmware tf300t 4.0.3 to 4.1 encountered a similar problem:
The Device is Unlocked.
Android cardhu-user bootloader <2.10 e> released by "WW_epad-9.4.3.30-20120604" A03
Checking for android ota recovery
Booting recovery kernel image
When rebooted around and only the volume up button can turn it off.
How do you advise to try to recover it, if you can explain step by step
Alternatively see the use of this program [TOOL]PERI-0.4

p.s. missed one point in which the boot program and should be used as a stop / pause
this cycle if it is necessary to use the program as confused with one thing:
(EG don't let any commands run at the splash screen or in recovery.)
I'm having issues getting recovery to work on a Verizon version xoom. I first flashed CWM version 4.0.0.4. The first time I tried to boot into it, it was stuck on the android with the red triangle for a long time before finally getting into it (coincidentally when I was hitting the volume key, don't know if that's related). Anyway, since then I haven't been able to get into it. It will be suck on the red triangle screen for a minute or two before rebooting into the stock rom (I'm running stock ICS). Since then, I've tried flashing the new TWRP 2.2.2 or whatever version it is and it has no effect. It's still doing the same thing. Any clue what's wrong?
So what I'm reading is suggesting that the android guy I'm seeing is the stock recovery. I'm not sure how that's happening. I'm installing the recovery using fastboot on my PC and being in the bootloader on my xoom. The prompts on both appear to confirm success.
I haven't tried this yet as I'm at work, but I think I've got the issue sorted. The following is what appears to be happening from what I've read.
1. I've still got the custom recovery stalled. When the Android guy pops up, one needs to press volume up to enter the options. Otherwise, it reboots.
2. The recovery flashes are taking because I'm booting back into the rom after a flash. The system's built in recovery protection is re-flashing the original recovery at that point.
3. To make my CWM/TWRP/whatever flash stick, I'll need to power down and then boot directly into the recovery.
I'll post again tonight to say if this works. Hopefully this thread can help out others who have the same issue.
If you don't get that to work fastboot img from link..

fastboot flash recovery recovery-Tiamat-R4c-100611-1150-cwm.img
Hello, I bought a OnePlus one (came with CM11 - 4.4.4) and followed the standard steps to root it
1) unlock bootloader - successful, phone got factory reset, checked the status using fastboot
2) Flash custom recovery (TWRP) using fastboot - always "okay" message
3) The phone DOES NOT boot to recovery after this - it gets stuck at the 1+ logo, or remains stuck for a few seconds and goes to normal reboot. -I've tried using fastboot to reboot phone while holding down volume button
Please help! i've look this problem up and haven't found a solution.
I tried 2.7.0.0, and the latest 2.8.5.1, along with 2.8.6.0, along with trying to use the one plus tool kit. Using the toolkit, even flashing the stock recovery, then booting it didn't work.
after you flash recovery in fastboot, do not issue the fastboot reboot command. you need to manually power off the phone by keeping the power button pressed till it powers off

As the other posted mentioned you have to fastboot flash twrp (2.8.6.0) then power off phone and use volume down + power button combo to get to recovery. Its flashing but if you boot to OS it will be overwritten by CM recovery hence booting directly will alleviate that
Boot into os, enable dev options by tapping the build number a bunch of times in settings-about phone section, go back and go into settings-developer options, make sure "update cyanogen recovery" is unchecked. Flash recovery again, and like people have said, power off the phone and use volume down and power buttons together to boot into recovery.
Thanks for the quick replies guys. I have tried all the above s and none of them have worked
Should I try unlocking the bootloader again?
I recommend going to this guide and following it closely: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guides-bacon-timmaaas-how-to-guides-t2839471
As for which version of TWRP to use, I recommend this version: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24391638059059048
