Hey guys,
I haven't found any info on the forums about this yet. Does anyone know how to/or have a modified vold.fstab for the stock TouchWiz rom?
I have a general idea on what to do, but I'd rather not attempt this one by myself!
Thanks in advance - zmag

I know what you are wanting to do but can't help you much with this. Would need to research it more myself. Might check out FolderMount in the meantime. It works good for moving selected apps to the ext sdcard while still keeping internal compatibility. Also is very easy to use IMO.

Hello, I am in need of a little help. I am a complete noob to android and have no idea really how the system works. I have a Samsung Galaxy S and have decided to root my phone for 2 reasons.. ap2sd and so I can install the lag fix. I have done a bit of reading and chosen the path I wish to take but would like some assurance and pointers. I am also unsure of: If I root my phone does this automatically mean that with a properly partitioned sd card that I can store apps 2 sd or do I still need to flash the handset with a new ROM and if so there I am stuck... I do not know where to begin with searching for the best ROM for me. Also I would like to know if after i've done this will the handset still be able to receive the official updates or will I just need to keep updating it myself!
Here is the rundown as far as i have got so far...
Samsung Galaxy S I9000/XXJF3 Updated!
All the programs for XP i need are downloaded (eg.net3.5/4, samsung drivers)
The root method I thought was best for me was that of TGA_Gunman
The lag fix I had chosen is by Chainfire
I have still to back up the original ROM with ClockWorkMod (Is this easy to do and if I need to use it will it bring me completely back to my original settings for warranty purposes, or is there other things I would need to do?)
Also could someone provide me with a link to the best noob proof SD partitioning method!!
Is there anything I'm missing here, or anything that could be done a better way!! Any and all pointers will be much appreciated....
P.s. I would be wanting to update to the official froyo update when it's available will this cause me problems and if so what must I do!
Thanks in advance
ANDROID NOOB
I don't know much about the galaxy s, but you might be better off asking this in the Galaxy S forum.

Yeah I read the rules to the forum and it does say that this is the best place to get questions answered... obviously not!!!!.... Thanks for the pointer I will copy and paste it there and see what happens!!
I have searched some forums and have seen some people say that if you are rooted then you can install apps to the SD card. Is there an app for this or does anyone have a link to instructions on how?
I do have Super User for Donut.
(I apologize if this is a duplicate question, I did some searching and didn't find the answer)

Try this, should be for donut as the x10 hasn't gotten anything newer yet.

App to SD possible on samsung galaxy 3?
how to root?
Hi,
Before posting this thread I check if someone else had the same question.
I have a X10 mini pro:
U20 i
2.1-update 1
2.1.1.A.0.6
As many of us, I'm very disappointed about not having the possibility to update the firmware above 2.1
What I'm looking for is mainly having the possibility to:
-Store app to the SD card
-Making folders for the pictures of the camera
I had a look to the different opportunity to boot the phone and to install a custom rom. But I didn't found a clear way to do it.
I'm looking for a rom with no bugs
I'm looking for a tutorial with links to follow.
If there is a way to do it without installing a new rom it ill be nice as well
If you can help
cheers
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Why not try this -

Thanks for you reply.
adding this new roms seems quite complicated to me.
I don't know how to do it, is there a link explaining how to do it?
If I'm changing the rom, I would like something stable, I would like to continue to use the camera, radio etc... as I saw some custom roms do ot allowed it anymore.
The main features I'm looking for is adding the app to the SD card and making folders for the camera.
thanks for your help
Hi all here, sorry if I ask a trivial question but I would like to share my SD stored media between the Stock boot and the CM10/CM10.1 one, better if I can see those folder in windows via the USB port.
I tried to install NookHD-HDplus-SDSwap.zip as didnt find the mentioned "NookHD-stock-fix-vold-for-dual-boot-hybrid-swapped.zip" but I still think those are not aiming to solve this.
Any hint or link to a old thread ? I didnt find any but the files before searching for the subject.
Best, Martin.

Those zips are still available. The one you want is in my Hybrid thread linked in my signature. The versions there work on both the HD and the HD+. And it was made just for the purpose you mentioned. Choose either the swapped or not swapped.
Edit: This thread is in the wrong forum. It should be in the HD/HD+ Q&A forum. This forum is for development. Moderator, please move.
Sent from my Nook HD+ running CM10.1 on emmc.

I may end up having to look for another...I hope not.
I am very satisfied with the VenomROM but am finding out today it is not completely compatible with the boost k2_cl.
funny thing is, I love it and am only having one small issue with it that can be found in the Q&A thread for the VenomROM.
If you find any ROM's you like... Please share. Thank You =)

there are no custom roms created for "K2_CL - Boost" variant.. if its an appearance thing "Themer" can change the appearance for you.. if its all the bloatware i ended up using Rom Cleaner for HTC One X found here.. the applications are the same but i had to add some extra Boost only apps in my list ~35.. after that i extended my internal partition onto my external sd card using "Partition Wizard" to create the ext4 partition that was needed to mimic the internal partition.. then used an app called "link2sd" to move all the apps/data to the extended partition leaving me with only 10mb of used space on my internal partition.. more information on extending your internal partition can be found here
