[Q] (Help) Chinese S5 clone recovery MTK6592 - General Questions and Answers

I have recieved a new phone recently that decided to go into a boot loop after unplugging from charger this morning. Everything was working fine until this. I can not seem to find the recovery menu/reboot into recovery mode. If I hold the volume -, and power button I get a menu in chinese that appears to be for testing and "resetting eMMC". Is there anyone who may know how to enter recovery with this device? The manufacturer is unknown (appears as ALPS in android settings), model number H900. The device has mtk6592 CPU mali-450mp gpu, 2GB ram, 1080p display. Should I go ahead and RMA it? If anyone can translate Chinese I can post pictures of the menu I am able to boot into, however it does not appear to be the standard android recovery menu. Any help would be appreciated!

[Completed] Star N9599 wont boot into recovery

Hi folks.
I need a little help.
I rooted my Star N9599 MTK6589 to get rid of the malware that was recently reported on news sites. That went fine and I got the malware removed.
However I now want to try some different ROMs on the phone, but can't for the life of me get it to boot into recovery. It will show the jellybean jar image, reboot, then go ahead and load the current ROM.
After searching the forums for ways to boot into recovery(very useful, thanks for that)Here's what I've tried already
Power and volume up (most promising, it loads the jellybean image, looks as though its considering going into recovery but then simply reboots, repeats until volume + has been released, then boots up normally)
Power and volume - (takes me into factory mode)
Power, volume + and volume - (again takes me into factory mode)
Power and home (nothing)
Reboot into recovery via Rom Manager/CWM(same result as Power and volume +)
Reboot into recovery via Quick boot app (same result as power and volume +)
adb reboot recovery via adb (same result as power and volume+)
USB debugging is enabled, I've deactivated the fast boot optionon my phone as well.
I've read somewhere that some phones have been coded to reboot from recovery into standard boot automatically, same article advised that ADB should work around this but no such luck I'm afraid.
Any help or advice you could give would be greatly appriciated as I''m now reaching Phone vs Wall levels of frustration.
Thanks
There is no forum for your device on XDA. However, there is a pretty extensive thread [Q] Star N9599 MTK6589 Quad CoreWith S-Pen 5.7 Inch 720P HD Screen 3G Sma On Home > General discussion > Questions and Answers
There are devices which DO NOT come with a Recovery installed out of box. Yours could be such a case. At least that's what leads me to conclude with your experience. Now that does not mean you can't flash one. You can post in the above thread to see if anyone has flashed CWM Recovery for your phone. Since you have tried Rom Manager, it may have said there is a Recovery for your device.

[Completed] Recovery mod problem

Hi all,
I moved to android from iOS 2 weeks ago, bought goophone S5 Pro. Octacore 1.7 Ghz. 1gb RAM. Yesterday I decided to install MIUI on it. Found one that is for my processor MT6592. Even though i wasnt sure if its for goophone s5. Long story short, I rooted my phone. With no problems. then I copied my new os to sd card. through computer Droit tools if not mistaking, i booted to recovery mod. Where i cleaned some chache and other staff and then selected the install rom from sd. After restart my phone went into bootloop.
Before i tried to go to recovery mod to do what is necessary for new rom installation. In off state i pressed power + volume UP key. the phone showed me boot options. Recovery, fast and normal boot. I could go up and down in the list, but when i was selecting any of them, nothing was happening. but I managed to go into recovery through Droid tools.
Now my phone is stuck in bootloop. My pc doesnt see me phone so i can use Droid tools again, only thing i can do is to press power and volume up. go to boot options, but cant select any of them. it says press Volume up to select, and volume down to choose. I can go through the list with up key, but when i press down, doesnt work. My volume key works fine. I tested it before when the phone was normal.
Any help to turn this brick into phone once again or i need to go back to iOS?
Thanks in advance!

A70H Allwinner A23 Tablet, be hanged bootloader mode, plz help?

Hi All,
I have china tablet:
Model: A70H
CPU: Allwinner A23
OS: Android 4.2.2
Spec like: Eken_A70h
I has encountered situations :
I use adb tools, then I type: "adb reboot-bootloader" command. As a result, the tablet has hang on bootloader screen can not exit, even I shutdown and reboot using the power button. I checked in the computer-device manager, I see : Android Bootloader Interface
I can not exit this bootloader mode, please help me. thank you!
After spending an entire afternoon researching this same issue, I have found what I think is the answer.....The Allwinner A23 tablet does not utilize hard reset keys. All the info that you read about on the internet about holding the power key with the volume up or down key, etc., does not work on these tablets. Strangely, at least for me, the answer was wonderfully simple - hopefully some of the developers here will test this on these tablets, as, if you look through the internet, these Allwinner tablets are getting more and more popular. So, the fix that worked for me:
Turn your tablet on (you will see the little Android icon or similar), and leave it on until the battery completely runs out. Now plug it in to your computer or power source and turn it on - for about 5 minutes or so, you will see the battery icon, which will turn off almost right away. Once the tablet gets the slightest charge - voila - the OS loads. It was like a miracle for me, and hope this helps you too.....
Not my tablet,, A23, QA88-V1.3 2014-04-14 (from tmart)
As you say vol+, vol-, vol both does nothing. Tablet has no home or back keys
After discharge, plugging in brings immediatly the little android figure, the boot logo
(both power and micro usb)
I got the boot lock by adb reboot bootloader,
perhaps I will have to use phoenix card
dmesg and lsusb do not change when it is plugged in
So fastboot devices find nothing
Any suggestions??
I take back what I wrote above, I put the tab aside for a month or 2, the battery was flat,
it magically booted (after a bit of charge). I don't know how long it has to be "flat", maybe a week?
Now it is looped again, a failed recovery, it will only boot that
But phoenixcard can make a bootable sd, so you can see if it will be compatible before flashing
Lots of very obnoxious dl sites for this firmware,, qa88,, its hardly worth the trouble
I have been hammering on my tab for a few days now,,
the bootloader and recovery are crap software.
Maybe that's why there are no keypresses
My original, at least could get to recovery, but the vol keys were dead,
so all I could do was reboot
All 4 of the firmwares I have found bootloop when you try to go to recovery
(and there is no adb in any of these when bootlooped)
There are more than 4 out there, but when you md5sum , it's just a different name
Fortunatly most of these bootloops have been on a sdcard boot, so I just fire up
PhoenixCard again and rewrite the sd
If you play with this, you better have a good firmware and TEST it with a sd boot,,
and you will lose whatever config you have done
there are perhaps 2 more unique firmwares I haven't mange to get yet, I have hopes
(I prefer 4.4 to 4.2, but the with the navcity 4.4 the camera doesn't work,
I have edited script0 and init.sun8i.rc , maybe the order of module loads matter)
Most of the firmware is 4.2, only 2 4.4 (AFAIK)
BTW, this is a QA88ver1.3, JDQ39

[Completed] Firmware for 9" Infinity tablet

Hi I got this very cheap tablet stuck in restart loop. I have tried the hard reset by using the power button and volume + button but I can't get to the boot menu. There is a small reset button on the back that I used a paperclip to reset, when I did the tablet starts loading up the OS and installing but when it restarts it goes back to the restart loop. I'm trying to find the firmware so I can flash it and reinstall the android OS.
This is what I have
9" Infinity Tablet
Android 5.1
A33 Quad Core Cortex-A7 CPU, 1.2G
32GB of internal storage

Greetings and welcome to xda. I have tried to locate the firmware for your device myself but have had no luck. Have you any idea what caused the bootloop ? if we know what caused it we may be able to assist you better
Regards
Sawdoctor
I think the loop is caused by a corrupted OS install file.
There is a tiny hole on the back of the tablet when I press it the tablet resets and starts to install the android OS when it gets to the part to restart thats when the loop happens.

Lenovo M10 (TB-X605F) - Bootloop / Blank Screen -- Is it PERMA-Bricked or Fixable?

Lenovo Smart Tab M10 (TB-X605F)
CPU: Qualcom Snapdragon 450
RAM: 3GB
Storage: 32 GB
ROM: Stock 9.0 latest (Jan 2020) - TB-X605F_S210152_200120_ROW
I was able to root the device with Magisk through OEM Unlocking and Magisk Patched boot.img. Everything worked well and booted into the OS just fine. I was also able to install TWRP 3.3.1.
When trying to make a full backup through TWRP i noticed several "/data mounting errors". I then proceeded to follow these instructions on XDA to resolve this.
After performing the above the LENOVO logo is seen but after 10 secs the screen goes blank. As far as i can tell the tablet turns itself off.
I've tried all the following key combos but nothing works:
x Power key
x Power Key + Volume Down
x Power Key + Volume Up
x Power Key + Volume Up + Volume Down
** Release of keys is done once Lenovo logo appears
Through the hardware keys i'm unable to get into Fastboot Loader (Power + Volume Down) and unable to get into Recovery (Power + Vol Up & Dwn). These key combos used to work.
My question is, is the tablet permanently bricked and can be dumped or is there anything i can do get back into the OS? All data on the device can be erased if necessary.
I've tried following instructions to flash stock using QPST and QFil but both apps wouldnt comply -- QPST refused to run on Windows 10 always complained it was interrupted during installation and QFil always reports failure at the end of the flashing.
did you ever get it sorted? im having a weird boot looping issue with mine after installing magisk
+1 having the bootloop, did you ever solved it?
