[Q] why can't i use internal storage for photos, music and videos - HTC Sensation

Hello everyone
I have an HTC Sensation XE running on viper's 5.2.1
My phone got smashed, throwed at wall, floor, and everyplace u could think of and dropped in water
But it's still alive(even though there are no volume button, screen cracked but functional and most of all
I'm unable to insert my microsd card in(i can INSERT it,but nothing shows up on phone)
So i've been searching on google, forums and everywhere else to look
But found NOTHING.
So, can anyone please tell me how to use my INTERNAL memory space(about 1gb) for photos, videos and music
Instead of just apps(can't even download pictures on whatsapp)
P.S. i'm very poor T-T so anyone who says buy a new phone or repair the current one
I will *******************************************(i've put stars here,'cause i'm pretty sure i'll get banned if i actually curse >^-^< )

The bottom line is you can't. If your USB port still works you could look into having a non-powered USB otg cable connected to a USB thumb stick, but even then your ROM would need to be configured to think that the storage was an sdcard.
Sorry bud.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk

found a solution... well sort of
After some time playing around with my phone i finally found out how to do it...
But unfortunately NOT COMPLETELY do it
Now i can download media except that i have to use only one app for everthing
Even for playing those media files(to play a photo, music or video, have to go play them in ES)
ES File explorer(maybe other file explorers work, but i didn't try them)
Needs root access(of course since i'm forcing it to do something it's not supposed to do)
All i had to is make a folder in the data folder(maybe somewhere else works)
/data/download
changed the folder properties (check all boxes read&write...etc)
And go to directory settings to change download path to /data/download
And the go to download manager setting and enable multi thread
Now i can download anything through the web
But can't make apps download media(whatsapp...etc) to the internal storage(will try to figure this out)

audio manager problem

hello all...ive got a problem and im hoping sum1 can tell me how to resolve this...whenever i go to the audio manager tab in tf3d i get a message that says "an error has occurred with audio manager eng.exe"...then, after i close therror message nothing will play or select ina audio manager...i can still slide to other tabs so its not making my phone freeze up but its still a pain n the butt...also, i had the same problem on my touch pro1 and im still having it on my touch pro 2...the weird thing is that i didnt have ne problem playing songs on my XV6800 (they are all verizon)...please help!!!
I'll give you the same advice I give my dad when he has this type of issue...
What software do you have installed?
What software did you install before this issue poped up?
Just try uninstalling it one at a time until the function you have lost works again... then complain to the manufacturer...
If you have not installed any software... it gets trickier...
it happens regardless of whether i have any programs installed...ive tried it str8 out of the box n it still does it...the only thing that i cant think of is maybe im puttin them n the wrong folder on my memory card...ive tried \storage card...\storage card\my documents...\storage card\my music...\storage card\my ringtones....they are mp3 files so idk y they keep causing the audio manager to crash...can u tell me where u keep ur mp3s at and maybe that will help me...maybe this will help too (when i take my memory card out n do a hard reset the songs that come stock on the phone work fine, but when i put the memory card back in NOTHING will work without crashing the audio manager)...ive even tried calling HTC and they couldnt figure it out...and i know its not just this phone bc i had like 4 original touch pros and they all did it and now my TP2 is doing it too what folder does every1 else put their songs in?
well darn, still no useful replies...im sure someone else has had this problem in the past...if so, please take 2 minutes to help...thanks again
Just got mine today, (upgraded from 8525) and STOCK rom has the same error. I installed my SD card and when it tried to load the music, the error occurred. I'm thinking it could be data on the card itself. I'll try wiping it and starting again...
hi, sorry my bad english, i changed the rom for a Spanish rom from Movilnet,it`s a company cellphone in Venezuela and the issue desapapeared,i love the Sprint rom but it`s problem makes me crazy.i tested same sd memory in another Sprint CDMA phone(same custom rom)and it`s did the same thing, but i took out and back to my cellphone and play all the songs without problems.I hope this help.
My data:
PRO2 FROM SPRINT CDMA
win 6.5
rom version: 1.0
date rom:04/19/2010
radio:2.32.00WF
ANY OTHER DATA YOU NEED PLS LET ME KNOW IF I COULD HELP.

[Q] BRICKED my ROADMATE 1700, can it be fixed?

I have looked high and low for answer, but I haven't found one yet.
I'm not new to all this GPS software stuff, I used to have a Tom Tom and very little problems, that said my almost two year old recondtitioned Roadmate 1700 started to act up the other day, when i went to the previous destination and they were all gone, I tried to reset no luck, then when I reset the dreaded USB screen came up, so I came home got the content manager, used the first USB cable I could find, the roadmate did not ship with a cable, and tried to update but it just kept saying error, then I went to the download for the update itself and tried to exercute it but it kept saying it couldn't write, so now I'm thinking the flash drive is damaged or corrupt, the files on the HDD root did not appear to all be there and I couldn't find anywhere online to replace them manually as some I have done, so I pop in a SD card and try to install MioPocket 4, but I don't know what the heck I'm doing and it doesn't work and then I download Unlock and like a dummy I copy Iboot.exe to the HDD, so now it just hangs at the Magellan Screen, and will not connect to the computer via USB I copied Unlock files to the SD card and was able to access a Menu and tried to delete Iboot.exe, but it kept saying could not create file, but I successfully deleted Iboot.mscr, from the HDD and after that I can't get the boot menu anymore, so it's bricked for now, I tried renaming as is suggested in MioPocket Readme and some other boards, apparently I'm not the only one to do this and every time I find a post related to it, there is no other answer except to rename files on the HDD, but like everyone else I can't access the HDD anymore, after all is said and done can this be fixed or should I just cut my losses? Can the HDD be swapped if I can find one for parts?
Thanks for any help.
The only thing you can do is go to you service center i have visited many blogs for this info but not got any info about bricking of roadmate...My advice is go to your service center ...click thanks if i helped you

[Q] Deleted photo recovery from internal memory

I have a Droid Razr HD Android Version 4.1.2 Build number 9.8.1q-79
Is there anyway to recover my deleted photos from my internal memory?
I lost 5 months worth of pics. This pics are very important to me.
I have tried various recovery programs using my PC but I can't get these programs to recognize my phone through a USB port.
It appears that I have to use my phone instead of my PC to recover my pics but when I try to open any recovery program that I download my phone will not open the program.
I have at least 100 pics or more that I accidentally deleted. The majority of these pics where taken at my job which I use for reference. I should have had these pics on my external card but I just plain screwed up on that move. I have been told that I should switch phone to "mass storage" but I can't get my phone to do that. Rooting my phone has been suggested also but I think that option is above my pay grade. I know just enough about computers and smart phones to get me in trouble.
If the was no way to recover pics and files I would just accept my loses and move on but recovery is possible from what I understand. I just don't know why it has to be so difficult.
Thanks in advance for any help I can get.------------------------------------------------------Joe

sorry i cant help with recovering the pics, but as far as your pc recognizing the phone, you have the latest moto drivers installed? (google search them), and you have usb debugging enabled in the developer menu?
both of those would cause your pc to not see the phone if not installed/enabled.
also there are 2 settings in the pull down menu for usb debugging when connected, if one doesnt work, try the other one.

as deeje00 so politely put it :silly: not all problems are fixable, and some that are still cant be fixed. we advise as best we can, the best advice at this point is to use something like g+ going forward so this doesn't happen again.

The only person I am frustrated at is myself for not being perfect like some other people.

I understand that not everything can be repaired. Contrary to what some people may think I am not frustrated at the help I have received from this site and the many others I have used. I just find it hard to believe that I am the only person who owns one of these phones that ended up with this problem. I am amazed at what this phone can do and I still am learning about all of it's capabilities. That is why I find it hard to believe that I can't access what is setting right there in my hand.
Although I am not a builder of phones by any means it seems to me that a simple recycle bin would give people a second chance after making a mistake.
Thanks for everybody's help so far. I am going to continue looking for a solution and if it is out there and I can find it I will post what I find here so others will not have to search so hard.
You may follow this step by step guide: android photo recovery
hope this helps.

I hope you havent gived up just yet, try this,

inside this video there is a link to an app you install on your Windows PC,
It helped me get a lot of info from my phone internal memory (which I didn't deleted by the way, it was a corruption caused by my PC )
Let me know if this helped you a bit.
search Android data recovery on Google
Some Android data recovery software can restore lost pictures from internal memory of Android phone. Here are my suggestions:
(1) Carefully check the "user manual", make sure it can support your Android phone model.
(2) Do not pay for any data recovery software unless it has found the lost photos.
Good luck!

If you use Google, you might have your pictures backed up for you. Not a lot of people put a lot of credibility in this but it's saved my butt when I wiped my phone to try the latest greatest ROM (wiped everything, including SD) forgetting I had my Korean vacation pictures on the phone. Fortunately, I allow Google to back up my pictures.
Trust me, disaster averted. Wife would have killed me dead.
That data recovery thing looks kind of fake to me, but the previous advice is good, don't pay for anything unless it can actually recover your data.

broken android screen, some limited remote access, need data backup

Hi guys
Due to unforeseen consequences during a holiday, a beer bottle got dropped on my phone and it cracked the screen. Now I want to take a backup of my photos before I send for repairs and I will appreciate any help I can get! Here are the details:
Phone: Sony Xperia Z3 Compact
Firmware: Stock Sony Kitkat, non rooted
Screen: Cracked, funny colours cannot see anything on the screen and touch does not work
USB Debugging Mode: Off
Wifi: On
Resources Available: OTG cable, AndroidLost is installed (its for finding your lost phone with a multitude of other useful features as well - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androidlost), MHL cable ordered online and on the way...
So firstly, I plugged in the phone to my laptop and could not open the Internal Storage as I had a pattern lock set up. But thankfully, using Androidlost I could unlock the phone remotely (it resets and disables the lock). Once it opened I could see that my internal storage was full (around 11 gigs) and I could browse all my files. I didn't have the time to transfer my files at the time so I thought I will do it later and switched everything off. This happened once more when I accessed it from another laptop but again got interrupted and decided to back it up later.
Now strangely, the third time I tried this (and on multiple laptops now), the Internal Storage is only showing 7.5gb of 11gb used, and when I open it most folders are missing and most files are missing from the folders which are present. It may be some weird issue of MTP or MSC mode or something, not sure.
I've ordered an MHL cable so I can plug in to my TV and see if the files are present if I browse through the phone. Its really weird though, wonder how the files disappeared if they have.
I also tried to access my phone through an Ubuntu machine but was not successful in mounting it.
And I also tried to put in an SD card and browse that through a laptop, and I could do that but the internal storage remained the same.
One path I was following - using Android Lost I can open any app on my phone remotely. I can install any app using Google Play store on a browser. I can figure out the LAN IP address through my router/netscan. Is there any app you think I can install to remotely make my phone an FTP server or something so I can browse my files that way? The only problem is I cannot click 'Start' or anything which most such apps require so once the app is launched everything else must be remote-doable.
Thanks for taking out the time to read this!

Very lengthy question.
So you want to make your phone an FTP server. I have a great solution for that
Install the legendary ES File Explorer from the Play Store
Select Remote Manager from the option, it will turn on WIFI hotspot and also give a FTP address. Just connect your PC with wifi and enter the addresss in any web browser you want
That's all
Hit thanks if helped

Hi Sushant,
thanks for reading the whole thing and for your suggestion.
I can install ES File Explorer. I can start the app remotely using Android Lost. Problem is, I cannot use my screen so I cannot go to the options and select remote manager.

i really really want to help OP but i cant think of the name of the app. its something like vlc, vhc, vcl, the point is. you can control the screen remotly over the same wifi network. i think if you could install the app remotly and install it on your computer, you would be able to unclock it remotly because you can see the screen on your computer.
if i remember the name i will post it for you. good luck OP!
Thank you Phurkus! I think you may be referring to VNC.
I found an app called 'VNC Server' that you can connect to using Real VNC on your computer. But after launching this app, it needs me to tap 'On' before it starts so again, no-go.
I'll search around for an app that uses VNC that doesn't require any set up on the android side besides just being installed and launched. Thanks again!

LG K120 / K4 4G OTG

Hi everyone! Total noob here so please be patient
I have this weird username bcs whatever I put was already taken so I monkeytyped.. and this came out xD
So it's about a week now that I'm struggling to activate OTG on this phone (that from what I can see is not noob friendly)
If I don't solve this issue (reading a microSD without having to open the cover all the time) I'll have to use a laptop (bcs it's the only way to transfer files from my camcorder to Kinemaster (app for editing videos) I can't do any other way bcs I'll be off the grid for long time and I can't use my desktop computer to transfer files to my phone.
I've rooted my phone and the OTG checker app tells me OTG is active now.. yet whan I try, it doesn't read any USB stick or sd reader.
I've also bought different adapters thinking it's that the problem.. but nothing external gets detected.
Then today I discovered that this phone is particularly hard to tweak aswell bcs I wanted to get rid of the annoying vibration it does all the time I connect it to my computer or when I charge it.. and it was impossible for me to understand how to install the frameworks and app needed and make them work.
So If you'll tell me something that I can do, I'll try.. but if you'll tell me change your phone bcs it's hard and dangerous to fix this issues.. then I'll consider to get a new one.
Sorry for being so long.
Thanks for your time guys.
thanks
