We have worked a new base, now completely NE6 based with NG3 based apps. Search search search, that's the first rule of posting here, if your issue has been posted, don't bother posting the same issue again. If you post any issues previously stated (which means you did not do a search or read the whole thread) it will be ignored. So, what's all this about?:
After more than 3 weeks of hard work we're finally ready to present you the brand new v17 version. Now with an amazing Aroma installer that, based on your device model, installs the right fixes to make it fully working with your particular Note 3. You can also, if you're using the international Note 3, select from many of the leading kernels out there and much much more. We've also managed to get it even a little bit ram friendlier and have removed many UI errors and annoyances.
But no, we aren't finished yet my friends. We have also included a fully integrated OTA update system that will notify you in case there are some updates (to be found in Settings). Also in Settings there is now - assuming you've installed Xposed Framework- an Xposed button integrated into settings. And right now you're about to ask: "Well, what about Appops?". Well that's there too!
We've tested it for a long time now but if you manage to find some bugs don't even bother to post them here before you have:
A.Used the provided logcat app to gather the log.
B. Searched if someone else already has mentioned it.
ALSO:Please state if you have performed a full-wipe aswell every time you report a problem. And for ota flashing issues use TWRP.
What variants does this rom work on?
N9005, N900T and N900W8
What's missing/Not working?
Bluetooth tethering (?)
Video calling (probably will get fixed, can't promise it)
Display mirroring (update: Well it seems that our provided fix didn't fix it... We'll work on it)
Direct pen input/Writingbuddy (needs major smali editing, would be easier once a new note device comes out)
Wifi-timer(coming soon with ota)
Multilanguage (will also be available as a separate post-installer really soon)
Fully functional S5 themed google keyboard (coming soon)
Download booster/Wificalling toggle (coming soon)
Private mode (won't work because it's deodexed)
ART (same)
S5 camera. It works but it it will forceclose when trying to launch it with a sview cover. Some other functions are missing to, but most of it is trivial. Waiting for @fahadali to fix it.
MHL/HDMI (maybe tyre will be able to fix it)
Possible future additions:
Optional battery themes
Autocallrecording
Aroma installer that remembers your last choices
More air-command themes
Rebase on the newest International firmware
Optional multidpi setting app integrated in settings with respective modded TW apps to fully support true multiDPI
Torch settings
RC-ELITE app with all customisation settings in one place
So with that being said, here we proudly present:
READ THE IMPORTANT NOTES FIRST(below), before downloading!
DOWNLOAD LINK HERE!
MD5: 470d0a60e0a3f5131292462f8a60a3bb
Please take an extra note: Although this IS STATED in the aroma installer. Some users simply do not want to follow it. You have so perform a fullwipe (included in aroma) to make this ROM fully work. Please do not, as some users already have, waste our time with errors that could have been avoided by following our instructions. A fullwipe is only needed once, and won't be needed with the coming OTA updates.
And one more thing: It is strictly forbidden to post any reuploads or direct-links of our rom or ota updates. Anyone doing so will be reported. Please respect this. We have our reasons.
We also strongly recommend to download and install the latest GAPPS (Full modular package) after installing the ROM

UPCOMING OTA Update:
New settings base app with Wifitimer in advanced wifi settings.
Multilang - which will be offered as a separate optional installation.
17.x.x updates will all be small OTA updates!
Important notes:
IMPORTANT:
Although this should be obvious, you need to be on a 4.4.x firmware first. So update to a new samsung note 3 firmware based on 4.4.x before flashing our ROM. Don't even try to experiment with this. You'll just waste your/our time.
Regarding ROM reflashing:
If you want flash any other kernels or apps since your first install. Just flash the main v17.0 again without performing a full-wipe. You will have to reflash the latest OTA update aswell.
Regarding gps problems when returning to normal rom:
tyre777 said:
(...) MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GPS in DEVICE ONLY or HIGH ACCURACY before flashing any note 3 rom so that the GPS bug/ problem won't happen
Click to collapse
Regarding the THEMED Google Keyboard:
Fixed in 17.1.2.
About Xposed Framework:
Please DO NOT recover Xposed from a backup OR install it in any other way! It's already included in Aroma. IF you install it you will end up with two apks! This is because the provided Xposed apk is modded to not show it's icon. The icon as stated above, is now integrated in Settings.
Regarding the time sync delay:
This isn't our fault. To fix it, go to Settings>Lockscreen and set Dual-clock to OFF. That will "fix" it. For any further complaints about this. Go to Samsung.com
Regarding "wifi is not working" issues:
Update your bootloader to NF4 via ODIN. Google it if you don't know how to perform this task. (Of course I'm talking about the one for note 3, NOT the S5)
Regarding the themes app forceclosing:
If you HAVE NOT selected any themes at all in aroma. It will forceclose. In the new aroma I will make sure that "themes" doesn't even get installed if don't select any.
Regarding random reboots:
This isn't really our fault either. It's a kernel issue. Flash the stock kernel. Most people like @kevin_1351 don't have this issue at all with any kernel whatsoever. But some may have them. Now you know.
Regarding lockscreen related problems like pinlock issues:
We've encountered more than 3 users with this problem. In all cases the solution was to use a pit file to completely repartition the Note 3 (internal SD will also be wiped). Don't be mad if it doesn't work, but we have more and more evidence that it works.
One important thing though is that securelock time only comes up when you have a pin selected and not just set it on swipe. @kevin_1351 fist believed this was a bug due to other v6 ports having it enabled on swipe aswell. After further research though it became clear that it's actually behaving as is should. Also, it is normal in android for the screen to not lock directly after it shuts off. It's made in order to lessen the frustration when you're reading for instance. If you want instant locking you'll have to use a pin and set the proper settings. It's actually not our business to specify this but we taught it might come in handy to know.
OTA updates:
Yes, this ROM provides you with OTA updates, you'll find it in Settings. We initially had problems with this because we were using DropBox. Now @cdmvirt has provided dedicated servers to fix it once and for all. He has payed for this out of his own pocket's (for the most part) so please show him some appreciation.
Also, you don't need to keep the old OTA updates. Just keep the latest one in case you want to reflash some options.
For all issues regarding flashing OTA updates, be sure that you're using the TWRP recovery (v2.7.2.1 or newer). We will not provide support for the other recoveries (although in the most cases you can manually flash it by navigating to OTA folder).
Here is the N9005 TWRP Recovery page btw: CLICK ME!
For issues regarding the OTA download: please delete the OTA folder first and try again.
BETA channel:
With 17.1.2 you will be asked to select if you want to take part of the BETA program. If you choose that you will get faster OTA updates with the downside of them being unfinished, without aroma and may contain some bugs. This is only for the more advanced user. With other words you will have to know how to handle adb, root explorers, being actually mentally able to READ; that sort of stuff. Nothing major but still more than the average joe knows about.
Taking part of the beta program also comes with responsabilites. You'll have to report whether or not the new features and fixes work and be quite specific about the outcomes. The beta versions will contain a "b" at the end of the version number. If you choose to take part, don't complain about stuff not working but instead try to be productive.
Live-support:
Sadly XDA doesn't provide us with any chat system, which we really would love to see in the future btw. Therefore @cdmvirt has integrated a chat system in order for you to get live support from either us or other users. Follow the download link to get there.

And many more (will update the credits soon).
Donations:
None of us are into this for the money. But we've got server costs (for the OTA dedicated server) to pay for and we really have spent countless hours on this. This simply is a fact. It's not a simple task to do what Samsung should have done at our place. It requires weeks of studying, trial and error and lots of coffee. We do this for fun and for the challenge that comes with it. But it goes without saying that we also would like some appreciation for our work. Either by just a thanks or by a small donation. As for everyone saying that they're too poor and/or are students. Well 1$ is nothing and if you own a Note in the first place you should be able to spend 1$ more dollar on this aswell. Some of us are students too, so we know what we're talking about. But hey, this is XDA. You're free to use it without paying a cent, but at least try to show some appreciation for it.

Personal (Kevin_1351) related stuff:
- here I'll add stuff that doesn't belong in the official post -
Extra Credits:
Thanks @Shaftamle for helping me with my themed keyboard (He told me how to fix it). Go and check out his keyboard themes btw!
Many thanks to @fahadali2315 for the "Hell NO!" vote. lol and for initially helping me getting up on my own legs.
N9005 Specific downloads:
I've added the NF4 bootloader for wifi in this post.
I've also added a PIT file if you want to COMPLETELY format your phone. Use this with odin aswell. Be careful though, and read up on what it does. This is only to be used with a stock Note 3 .tar.md5 firmware. If you have pinlock issues with our ROM for example: this is needed.
The pit file is going to create a >50kb partition. With other words, is gonna make room for all types of csc. As I said though, read up on this.
Please keep one more thing in mind: The PIT will erase the internal SDCARD as well.
About the next OTA update:
Probably, v17.1.2 -or whatever version number it will have- will be my personally last update(I'll be around and help my team but I won't be this active anymore). Until now tyre and I have been the ones working the most on v17, while cdmvirt has been the one who together with stash made v16, the very foundation of v17. Lately his dedication has partially shifted to his webportal instead, and to the dedicated servers we use for the OTA and for his portal. Now when spending that much time on the rom, it hurts to see how cdm is still struggling with serverside issues and has to pay out of his own pockets in order to maintain it. Especially considering the enormous user base we've gathered in only a week. It seriously disappoints me to see people being ungrateful and complaining about something, but on the other hand don't offer the help in order maintain their desired quality.
This isn't the only thing though, I've received over at least 50 pm complaining about stuff that we don't have anything to do with. User errors or even worse, the fact that people can't even spend 10 min of their time on reading the main post through. This considering the 7 weeks we've spent on this. I've been really active in the iOS scene once and I can tell you, THIS was a totally different story. Night and day. I've heard that XDA has changed, that it has once been the place I'm speaking about. Idk. This is not meant to be offensive in any way. There are a lot of grateful and helpful people too. But they are as rare as truffle. And another factor is that I simply don't have this much time to spend on it either.
I won't leave as I said. And I will really try to help my team further, if they feel like they want to continue. But I won't put this much effort into it anymore. Because it's not being answered back.
I hope you'll understand my frustration. I'm surprised that the ones directly involved like cdm himself just take it, and thinks it's ok. For me at least this is NOT ok.
Due to time constraints and the fact that we want to obtain a bugfree experience, there still are some things I need to figure out in order to flash this OTA in the correct way. Therefore it will be slightly delayed. Maybe 24-48h.

Also it's strictly forbidden to post any direct links to our rom here. Or to make any modifications to it without our permission. Thank you.

What I'm doing right now:
-Packing the next OTA
-Kitesufing

If the fix works it should also be working I think. But maybe it still isn't fully working. We're close though.

Well it's the stock note 3 one. Of course some unofficial kernels will give you better battery life since they're downvolting/clocking. Still I wouldn't worry to much about it.

Bugs:
Groups messaging non-functional.

? Tell me if you find something.
Flaws:
1 - Hardware Video Decoding.
The doubleshot is flawed on hardware video decoding. It works mostly fine on the device itself, however when outputting to a TV it skips, lags, and generally does not work well.
I have included Mobo Player in the ROM, which has an option to enable "Soft Decoding" by default in the app settings. Enabling this will solve all problems when playing video on a TV.
The Doubleshot is more then machine enough to soft-decode video and multi-task other operations at the same time. Use it's abilities to enjoy your experience.
See Post 89 for more info.
Caution:
1 - Titanium Backup:
Removed from ROM. It was causing problems with users restoring data from prior Bulletproof installs. Please do not restore backups from previous Bulletproof installs. Start fresh here & now.
2 - Flashing a custom ROM, or rooting your phone in general means denying any official manufacturer updates from that point forward.
* - Please do not try to install any OTA (Over The Air) updates after flashing this (or any other) ROM.
3 - Please refrain from flashing any ROMs while in a moving vehicle, and try not to handle the device while flashing/booting/loading the first time. Causing the accelerometer and other sensors to activate could lead to a buggy install.
RAM
Romanbb:
I've seen lots of users complain about how little RAM some ROMs have. RAM does not mean speed. It does not determine how fast a ROM is. It simply means how many apps you can have open at once without Android having to close another one. Have you ever filled up the amount of RAM your device allows?
Android is built to use RAM efficiently. Let it handle it. Don't worry about RAM. This ROM has about 190mb free running the Sense launcher out of the box. The more apps you have installed the less that number becomes over time. Don't pay so much attention to it and just enjoy your phone.
Blue6IX:
Task killers. Don't use them. If you use a task killer, please do not report bugs in the ROMs function.
If Android needs more RAM, it will free up RAM. Using a task killer prevents apps from closing properly and saving their data. This leads to corruption of data, and eventually force closes and other issues.
Friends don't let friends use task killers.

Install Instructions
Make sure you are using Official Clockworkmod 5.0.2.7
Make a nandroid backup. Losing 10 minutes of your life is easier to cope with than losing a phone
Download, copy to SD card.
Reboot into recovery.
Install ROM from zip.
Reboot, wait 10 minutes (NOT a suggestion).
Perform on-screen setup.
Wait another 5 minutes, reboot, Enjoy!
Install Notes:
1 - I have handled all cleanup of any prior ROM install, simply flash and go over any prior ROM install with no extra steps necessary for a clean install every time.
2 - You must wait 10 minutes after first install for the ROM to finish installing itself in the background once it fully boots. Android is built to serve you, the user, ahead of itself. If you tell it to do something, it will break itself trying to serve you. Allow it to finish installing itself, even though you can't see it working. If you choose not to you will have a buggy install.
3 - Install will take some time, your phone did not freeze. First boot will also take longer, please have patience.
4 - Please review my Backup Guide to learn about making backups.
5 - After completing on-screen setup of your device, I recommend giving it another few minutes to settle and then rebooting into recovery to make a nandroid backup of your new, fresh Bulletproof installation.
6 - Market Problems:
**If you get the "insiffucient space" error when trying to download an app, reboot to recovery and wipe cache through Clockworkmod. Should get you all squared away.

If anyone would like to start playing with custom kernels for Bulletproof 1.1, please see this link below:
doubleshot kernel project OC/UV
You will find Bulletproof compatible stock HTC, undervolt and overclock kernels.
Custom kernel management:
Installing custom kernels:
[1] - Download the kernel zip file to your sdcard.
[2] - Flash through clockworkmod recovery just like a ROM.
- If you do not know how to do this, you should learn how to flash ROMs before moving on to kernels.
SetCPU
- SetCPU is an app that lets you regulate the clock speed of your device. ( and more! )
- Check out the app in the XDA News page, and then check out the Dev thread.
- Consider donating and buying the market app to support the developer if you really use the app.
WARNING:
Installing an Overclock kernel on your device could have negative physical consequences (Read: broken hardware) if misused/abused.
Please educate yourself on what overclocking does and how you can melt your processor.
You proceed at your own risk and any damage that may result is the sole responsibility of the end user.

Groups messaging:
The app DoubleshotAndroidZipgroups_06-15_V1.0b13935.apk, as per this thread: Shocker on my last phone bill, malware in rom? has been determined to be the problem that *some* people were having with getting billed for international texts they never sent nor received.
For the benefit of all, and to err on the side of caution, this app has been removed from the ROM. There was not time before the release to remove the user interface option from the ROM, or figure out how to enable it safely.
For the time being, please accept this concession of incompleteness in order to get the rest of the ROM in people's hands to play with.
Bulletproof 1.0:
Bulletproof is a ROM that is the brainchild of Romanbb. I would like to single out this developer as a shining example of what a developer at XDA should be. He releases code that isn't just slapped together and thrown out there, but rather takes his time to get things right, and labors for long hours on small things, those details that are so important and oft ignored in general.
He displays a level of patience, helpfulness and contributes much more to XDA then the code he writes. I should hope to live up to the example he sets for us all.
He has moved on to new projects beyond the doubleshot (MT4GS) and i'm sure we all wish him well in his endeavors, I know I do. I thank him for allowing me to pick up where he left off, and appreciate the solid ground he gave me to stand on - both with the code left behind and direction to start working with it.
I also thank him for not spoon-feeding me every answer, and forcing me to exercise my brain by pointing me in a direction, but leaving me to find the answers on my own. The hardest part of being a teacher is NOT giving your student the answer, and instead teaching them how to arrive at the answer on their own.
Link to original Bulletproof release thread.
--------
Bulletproof to me is first and foremost a ROM to use as a basis for my next project, which is delving into kernel modification for the doubleshot. Incidentally, this is also another project Romanbb started us on over here in the MT4GS forums.
I need a solid, stable platform to test my kernel work in. I don't want to waste time guessing if a problem was from a kernel, or from the ROM itself. I have learned quite a bit about Bulletproof, and while it still holds a few surprises for me, there aren't many left to uncover.
As a tangential bonus to users of the doubleshot, this should be a solid daily-driver ROM to use on your phone, when you just want a Sense-based ROM to work and not have to deal with broken things as you use the phone in your daily life.
This is no slight against any other developers, and I could not have put this out without a monumental amount of help from Romanbb, the XDA community at large, and many members here in the MT4GS forums (and some not) who may or may not realize how they have helped me. This really is a community achievement, and the credit rests not on any one persons shoulders.
As with most software, it could always be better - and there are still issues to be resolved, though none that will inhibit stable usage of the device or ROM (to my knowledge). Please stay tuned for future improvements.
Support:
I will support this ROM to the fullest extent of my capabilites.
That being said, please understand something about my life. I work a very random schedule. Sometimes I have a week or more off at a time, other times I put in a 90+ hour work week between two jobs.
Some of you may have noticed by now that when I am here, I go into great depth with my postings and spend a significant amount of time writing up guides, answers and questions.
The trade-off is that when i'm not able to be here, I am like a ghost.
Please do not ever think I have left the community. XDA is my home on the internet, and rarely do I go elsewhere in my free time anymore - unless it is to look something up to use here. I have been very passionately involved with computers for most of my life, and there is no other place like XDA on the internet anywhere.
I really need people's patience if I am in a period where I cannot spend much time on the forums. Believe me, I would rather be here then anywhere else if given the choice. I have a wonderful Lady in my life, and am trying to start a family - so please understand that I will give any and all time I can.
Where we go from here:
1 - Overclock kernel. Incremental kernel CPU clock speed increase until we reach 1.5 stable.
2 - Undervolt kernel. Incrementel voltage decrease until lowest stable voltage achieved from 1.5 CPU clock speed.
3 - Careful, cautious incrementation of CPU clock speed above the manufacturers rated 1.5, emphasis on stability.
The kernel work is honestly the primary drive behind what Bulletproof 1.0 is. I intend to lay out a very in-depth explanation of how and what was done for a majority of the kernel work I do after I get it working. I feel the discovery and sharing of this information will be a great service to the XDA community.
It also has the benefit of being able to teach others who have a doubleshot how to work on kernels, and then team kernel projects become a reality. I hope that some of you out there are interested in working with me in the future, because CPU speed and voltage are but a tiny fraction of what the kernel is about.

This depends entirely on what battery you are using, whether you calibrate it correctly with the ROM, if you have broken it in correctly, and how you use the device.
siani_8 has the absolute most incredible battery life, using a Mugen obscene capacity battery.
I use the Anker battery with a 1900 capacity. I think it gets good battery life.
Someone using the stock HTC battery should immediately purchase an Anker or Mugen battery, for reasons beyond capacity.
I will update this posting with all the battery information and tutorials on how to do everything I just said when time allows.

Thanks, blue. Downloading now, looking forward to rocking this

Very nice. I'll be testing this out later today (perhaps at dinner lol).
Does this have Kidzone and the "Groups" tab completely removed?
Groups tab is still in the ROM, though non functional.
Kidzone is also still in.
Both of these items are on my hit list for future updates.
I felt that they were both bigger projects then delaying the ROM was worth.
I would like to try to enable the groups tab, as I understand that people do use it - so if I can figure out how to eliminate the security flaw while keeping the groups tab, that is preferred.
I hate kidzone as much as everyone else who has ever handled this device, and it will be terminated with extreme prejudice when time allows.
Removing T-Mo pink coloring everywhere is a bit higher on my list then kidzone, as it will provide a larger immediate effect on user experience.
Edit:
OP updated.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to trying this out!
It seems as though lately all the devs are requiring/building-in full wipes for every update. Is there a possiblity of doing updates that we just flash over top, from time to time, to make the whole backup and restore thing simpler?

I am not sure I understand you here.
Please do not restore any data from any other ROM or previous Bulletproof install to your device.
You start fresh with this ROM, as if it was day 1 with your phone.
If you choose to restore data from any other install or ROM into this new ROM, you will probably have problems at some point. I will be completely confused by your problems, being unable to duplicate them myself.
Any posts describing problems from people who have restored data from any other install or ROM will confuse other users about problems that are unique to one specific user.
This is the reason I removed Titanium Backup from the Bulletproof lineage.
Please start fresh for a solid experience.
Edit:
OP updated to add recommendation number 5 under install notes.
Please perform a fresh nandroid backup of your new Bulletproof installation after it is fully installed and loaded.
Thank you.

I think what's he's asking is, from this point on (after the fresh start). Will you be pushing updates as a "flash-able patch", rather then a "complete wipe"? I'm curious too... cause I hate having to start fresh... One reason I avoid updates sometimes...

Yes, that's exactly what I was trying to ask!
Ah okay - I understand, forgive me, I still haven't slept yet.
The answer is - unclear.
In most cases I would try to simply update as opposed to start fresh.
I am more interested in writing my install scripts for updates to just wipe /cache and /data/dalvik-cache as opposed to the entirety of the /data partition.
I would like to see people lose as little data as possible, and am interested in having as little impact on the user experience as possible moving forward.
The big one was the start fresh now, hopefully as we progress we can build on that.
I am leaving the door open for the need to do a complete fresh install in the future, but hopefully that will be un-necessary.
Great, thanks for that reply.
I don't know, I don't find any issues in the data thing. All my contacts are on my Google accounts, my apps backed up to my SD along with the App data (non system apps only). If your gonna flash an ROM, you should have the 5 minutes to install your apps. I don't use titanium, it screws up the phone. I've never had a text message so important I needed to save it. Or been so far in a game I couldn't redo it. That's me personally, I just let the dev do what they needa do. If they do want to wipe cache and data, just let them. It's going to allow them to have the same install grounds as all of use. That being said it helps the dev find out bugs, because in a sense. Where all using the same set up. As a Dev I understand it fully.

[ROM][UCLA3]Buoyancy v1.4.0||Rogers/AT&T||[3/7/12]

First things first, this is a work-in-progress guys. I know there are multiple things that need to be modified, improved, added, or fixed, and I'm hard at work trying to get to all of them.
Buoyancy is based off the latest UCLA3 update, which seems to be performing faster than the previous firmware in terms of both data and regular speed.

How The Release System Will Work
As of right now I've decided to go with the 3 digit release system. This is how it will work. The first digit of the release, e.g. the 1 in buoyancy 1.0.0, represents the overall version of Buoyancy. Any changes made to this will be very major. The second digit represents the stable build number of that version. Any changes made to this will be made carefully, but will probably not be earth-shattering. Finally, the third digit is for builds that may be unstable but have new features I may add to the next stable release. I'll try to update the third digit every 3-4 days. The other digits will be updated when I feel the stability of the rom has increased.
Theming
Want to theme Buoyancy? Go here to edit the ROM options to your liking. Remember, if you create a super-awesome theme, be sure to send it my way so I can post it and take all the cred-- I mean let the community use it.
Porting
The following is my current progress on porting the Buoyancy to this Potato. I'm expecting great success; I'm fairly certain Potatoes float.
Code:
Variants: Mashed, Sweet, Russet, Mr. Potato Head.
Radio: If you stick some antennas into it that might work.
Power Source: Self-Sustainable
Storage: 2 bits: One peel, one inside.
Multitouch: Two fingers needed for proper peeling.
Drivers: As far as I know, potatoes make terrible drivers. Mostly due to the lack of current arm/hand/finger hierarchy support.
GPU: General Potato Unit. Capable of recreating images of Jesus on the skin.
Some Comments/Disclaimers/FAQ's/Important Things (Please Read)
Personal Thoughts: This is only my second rom I've published (the first on the cappy), but I must say that I'm pretty happy with the way it's turning out.
AT&T vs. Rogers: For 1.1.0+ I have decided to merge the two builds into one. If anyone on Roger's experiences problems with the new builds, please let me know.
Bravia Engine: While I did include the Bravia Engine port into this mod, it's difficult to test whether or not it is actually there besides just subjective screen observation. However, you need to trust me on this, it does help with video playback and picture quality.
Extended Power Menu: Added.
Swype: Woot, woot, working Swype!.
SOD: Not an issue! Plus, OC has returned!
Throttling: If you do end up getting throttled, I have confirmed that this method does in fact work with both versions of Buoyancy.
GPS Fix: I Would include the GPS fix, but it always seems to tell me I'm in Nevada. This would be okay if I was a resident of the Silver State, but unfortunately I'm not.
Kernels: As of right now I feel that Faux's kernel provides a good balance of speed and stability, and I'll probably be sticking to it for builds in the near future. However, if Da_g does in fact come out with an update to fix the SOD, then I'll return back to his, simply because it is wicked-fast.
OMG VIRUS WHEN DOWNLOAD HAXXXXXXX: Not to worry, I'm not actually trying to give you a trojan, I promise. The same notification people have been having when they attempt to download Buoyancy has happened to a lot of friends of mine when they try to download rooty things like SuperOneClick or a ROM. My best guess is that it has to do with Superuser privileges+an overactive anti-virus system. If you want to read more, go here
Yahoo Finance Force Closings: If you perform the "fix permissions" option in cwm this issue should resolve.
BLN For MMS: Alright, alright, I know that BLN is not currently working with the stock MMS.apk right now, but the problem is, the MMS.apk that BLN does work for FC's upon entering its settings. So please be patient while I try to work out one of these kinks.
Announcements (Also In Red Because It's Important)
Currently testing PDroid.
May try the new ICS Camera.apk that's been floating around recently.
Still working on that BLN Text Messaging
Current ICS Launcher is a Lil' Glitchy. You have been warned.
Yes, I'm sorry, 1.3.1 is a full-wipe version. But I have my reasons. For one, this is going to be the last build of Buoyancy for a little while since I'm going to try and focus my attention on ICS. The other is that I kept getting bootloops with a non-wipe version, which angered me into submission.
Updating to UCLA base in 1.4.0.

First things first, this is a beta guys. I know there are multiple things that need to be modified, improved, added, or fixed, and I'm hard at work trying to get to all of them.
Buoyancy is based off Bonestocketeer, created by playin4sheezy. Major thanks to him and all his hard work. Note:This ROM will wipe your data automatically, so no need to do it through cwm. However, it won't hurt if you do. Future non-major releases of Buoyancy will be updates and not require a data wipe.

Some Comments/Disclaimers
Personal Thoughts: This is my second rom I've created (the first on the cappy), and I've only actually had the Skyrocket for about two weeks, but I must say that I'm pretty happy with the way this first build turned out.
AT&T vs. Rogers: The only real differences between the two builds is the kernel and the radio... I'm fairly sure the AT&T version can run on Roger's and vice versa.
CRT Animation: There is a CRT Animation Mod out there in the forums right now, but for some reason it does not play well with the BoneStock base. If anyone could isolate the files in the framework-res.apk that are modified so I wouldn't have to tear through every inch of it, I'd be much obliged.
Extended Power Menu: I thought about adding this, but I figured with the 14-toggle mod, it wasn't really needed. As a side-note, with the 14-toggle mod, if you hit reboot it will give you options to reboot into recovery and download as well.
Please note that you are flashing this at your own risk, and I am in no way responsible for bricked phones, bricked cats, bricked bricks, or anything in between that may result from the flashing of this rom. This is a beta. Please be careful, but do enjoy.

Dear OP - Here is the Stock BoneSTOCKeteer framework-res.apk with nothing modified to it besides an XML to activate CRT off. I plan to use this for when i switch to the BoneSTOCK base for my ROM. Hope it is some use to you.

Ah thank god, I've been tearing through the framework-res.apk for the past 2 hours or so trying to find the modified file. You sir, are a great person, and I'll be sure to credit you when Buoyancy 1.0b2 rolls around.
NP , for future reference, the file you need to modify is (must decompile first, apktool) res/values/bools.xml and with notepad++ find "animatescreenlights" and change true to false than save and close and compile, glad to know i helped

Lol, you just helped me, now I know how I can mess with the framework-res.apk and not bork my phone like I did last time!
Some Ideas for this ROM.

When it comes to the Launcher, I like HTC Sense, when it comes to Touch wiz, I don't like the Dock. I like the app drawer in the middle...I love Google's stock.
There's launcher2.apk for you from my CM7 source (stock GB launcher). It has speed tweaks to make the app drawer open quicker. push to system/app with root explorer, than make permissions match other apks, oh and OP feel free to use this in your ROM

To be included in 1.0b3, although maybe minus the speed tweak .
Thanks for the update! Much appreciated work, my friend. More people need to know about this ROM

Great ROM! I like the battery icon very much. And the launcher, but over all a great ROM. But i did see one weird thing, and I think you just forgot but the build.prop still says 1.0.0 when it's 1.1.0 xD I just installed and very nice! Just gotta test battery life. But I love it.
The absolute one thing that could make this ROM the best would be a nice theme, and as I read your working on that as we speak. It's just amazing what you dev's can come up with. So, from me and everyone else using dev ROM's, Thanks.
Also, a special thanks to M0D1441, he has helped me personally a lot and he really is a great guy. So hit that Thanks button for both of them! And check out M0D's ROM too, great also. I just prefer a more theme'd look and anti-stock as possible, but I love M0D's black/trans drop down bar.
Two great dev's. That's all I have to say for now. Just keep doing what your doing
P.S. If anyone needs a tester, I'm here. It's the least I can do for all the hard work you guys put into these ROM's.

Yeah, this was my bad, I was pretty tired when I finally finished building 1.1.0, and I figured that 1.1.1 would be arriving shortly (which it is), so I just left it as is. Thanks for the great reply though, it was very nice.
cool looking boot screen, so booting as I type, will report back later after a day or so
after just a few minutes, I find I neede to insall MoreLocale2, so I could get English U.S
after first boot it was a little choppy, but it seems is getting faster and faster
So, for now seems solid and stable for day to day usage
I have a question I'd like to pose... What do you guys think of the addition of Apps2SD in the next build? Good idea, bad idea, and maybe some reasons why. I could really use some feedback on this one.
First off nice theme I've been trying a few out seeing which one will help my battery as I've had some issues, since this is a Rogers theme hopefully it will help me out. One thing I've noticed and I don't know if you did this on purpose but on my lockscreen my battery is all random letters. Doesn't really bother me but just throwing it out there. Looking forward to your update, I'd really like to see the 14 notification toggle and volume keys to wake and I also like the battery

Hmmm... I'm not sure if these things are a Roger's issue because I have 14-toggle mod working fine on my AT&T variant. However, a new version will be out today that includes Faux's new kernel, so perhaps that will fix some of the issues.

[ROM][FC09][TW-MTD] Legacy ROM; new LegacyBlackDogROM1.04_MTD.zip [Updated 9/26/2013]

New ROM with integrated BlackDog V6_SuperCharger script; BlackDog script
LegacyBlackDogROM1.04_MTD.zip
mirror server
MD5 Sum: f2de1fee666b90ce9064e51e0525c48f
Change log: thanks to J2k3, SB03 and cerchiara for suggestions and feedback!
removed custom gallery and added stock 3D gallery due to MMS pics not displaying
added Flash Player from FC09 stock- seems to improve web browsing
added stock Swype- seems to play nice even when paid or trial versions from Play co-exist with stock Swype (Face it; when you upgrade to another flagship phone, you'll need to practice sweeping a keyboard sometime; beats tapping on a tiny virtual kb and missing mostly all the time! Start practicing in landscape mode.)
re-themed Mms.apk (no more transparency wallpaper but chat bubbles are reformed)
re-themed contacts and dialer backgrounds- darker bg image courtesy of MWBehr @ xda from contributed work on transparent contacts on Cut & Paste ROM
re-themed the pull-downs again; sharpened corners & now 10% darker (I may go to 94% opacity like the pull-down transparency; let me know)
re-based the main system apps with a more recent apktool in hopes of increasing compatibility with newer 3rd party apps
note: this was to be a final ROM pending findings and suggestions; suggestions and feedback lead to some of the changes. Thanks for the input and encouragement. This still remains a daily ROM for me but may not be much longer since I'm due an upgrade and looking into new phone releases with 4G-LTE. I think Sprint and Samsung missed opportunities with the S4 and Note 3; I'm still looking for a good tri-band LTE flagship phone! But still hoping to get this ROM to a lesser need to update frequently and still supporting as a user.
Optional:
V6 SuperCharger Options: to add a quick widget for PowerShift on the fly:
1) open ScriptManager and navigate to location of script (V6 uses /data/V6_SuperCharger/PowerShift_Scripts... "Calculator-(8,12, 39,46,53,60)" is default but try as many as you like, use the one you like best), press and ensure Su is highlighted and "Save"d (You can mark as many as you like for quick widgets but do not set as boot; change as needed).
2) find open space on preferred home-screen, press/hold empty space (1x1 is the widget size), scroll left and select "Widgets", scroll to SMWidgets (available from google play if missing; should be in flash included /data/app), click "Add one script widget" and select your desired widget previously marked in first step.
Note: scheduled Flush-O-matic acts as a cache drop for freeing unneeded RAM cache left when exiting an app that may be using a lot of RAM every 4 hours. If you wish to adjust this, you'll need to download the script to adjust options; option 30.

LegacyBlackDogROM1.01_MTD.zip for TouchWiz FC09! Flashing instructions below...
changelog:
Updated /system apps (ADW and SuperSU) just updated
LegacyBlackDogROM1.00_MTD.zip
change log:
integrated BlackDog script with PowerShift scripts; set via SMWidgets (app free versions included in flash as tools/removable bloat)
restored Flush-O-Matic scheduled 4 hour cache' drop; now it will not flush until android sleeps so you're activity is not interrupted or slowed
updated ADW Launcher, Titanium Backup, SuperSU, Google Play (Black Market) & Gallery (now customizable, somewhat but it can be updated in Market or uninstalled for another app, if needed)
rolled back kernel due some concerns of FC09 kernel increasing battery drain after a notification (although my problem was mostly media scan bug due to suspect media, I wasn't the only user suspecting the kernel so I rolled it back)
swapped Talk and Google Search box to blacked-out versions; thanks to RUJELUS22 Themes for blacked out Gmail, Black Market, Talk, & Google Search Box. I've not been finding full functionality of blacked-out apps, recently. But RUJELUS22 blacked apps seem to retain better GB compatibility ATM.

Instructions and warnings:
How do I flash this?
Download, verify md5, back-up in CWM to be safe. If you are already on a TW ROM with MTD/yaffs partitioning, you can keep your data and just wipe cache and dalvik and flash (don't forget to backup, first). If you are on any other type of ROM, you should backup and wipe data first. I have heard from one source that ODIN is not required, if coming from CM but I have not tested that, myself. If trying, remember to flash the ROM twice or flash, reboot recovery and flash again. Note: Large TW kernels do not support TWRP; to be safe, do not inject TWRP recovery. (for CM to TW, personally, I'd recommend back-up, ODIN, root and then flash this). If unsure, read; clean install is the recommended method if having problems. If something does not appear to be working, let me know. This is MTD; if you are coming from ODIN or or currently using BML, this flash will auto-convert to MTD. Note: to get back to BML, you would need to ODIN with victory PIT file and repartion option selected.
To be safe: Be aware that is a development ROM. Although I've flashed and tested this in many different ways, some things still need to be tested. If anything should go wrong, you should be familiar and comfortable with the use of ODIN to recover a semi-bricked device: here.
Description and Credits:
Legacy ROM: an honorary gift from previous and current developers on a now outdated device (yeah, but I hope to get a Galaxy S4 LTE-A or Note 3, soon). As well as the implied: use at your own risk...I am not responsible for anything that could go wrong... please read before asking questions...older download links are at bottom of this post.
What is this? updated 8/1/2013
As the description states: This is a new ROM built from kennyglass123's deodexed from stock FC09 to include all modifications from the gingerbread gits still maintained by SenseiSimple and toadlife. Other mods have been added and available in XDA and elsewhere. Briefly, it includes the mods included in TPR (The People's ROM by kennyglass123) with exception of the flying-in transitions. Legacy ROM uses the ICS transitions found in SenseiSimple's git along with all those found there for TouchWiz FC09 ROMs. I've also added Zeppelinrox's V6 SuperCharger script and Chainfire's latest SuperSU (reverted to Superuser by ChainsDD 9/3/2013). It is rooted but you need to be rooted in order to flash. I've also included Center-Clock-Mod and a smooth scrolling mod. Mms.apk has search and suggestive search fixes that were introduced by modding the AndroidManifest.xml for transparency to wallpaper.
Some images and animations borrowed from ROM Toolbox with jrummy16's explicit permission. There are many others that will be recognized and hopefully, all thanked for their contributions. Additionally, I'd like to thank Travmofosho, kennyglass123 and Nash for porting much of the original theme works to gingerbread. I've also used some theme work from Tha_Dynasty2049, Thomasskull666 and Paul Diddy. If you know of someone I missed, even yourself, please help to credit those that gave freely. As a courtesy, thank them if you like their reproduced work and see them check-in on this thread.
Additional Credits: Thanks all and please help me keep this credit list accurate. Thanks TexasEpic4G for the scenic banner!
"Big thanks to all previous and current developers of the Epic that made this effort simplistically as possible.
Source: FC09 Deodexed with lots of [mod]s- Thanks to kennyglass123 for source deodexed FC09, permission to use the EB/TPR kernel, and for encouraging me to release this. Thanks also to SenseiSimple and toadlife for keeping the GB development git updated.
My mentors (This list is reserved for those that gave direct feedback that helped me in some way. Thanks!): MWBehr, Travmofosho, ÜBER™, Nashdogg, kennyglass123, darkierawr, RandomKing, Ca1ne, flastnoles11, jrummy16, lilajrestnom, gooch1025, SenseiSimple and toadlife. Gosh, what would I know about android without these guys and more, I'm sure there are many more that I've used their work in one way or another, including the credits below.
Features:
Zeppelinrox's V6 SuperCharger script integrated into ROM. You can flash, and perform an extra boot to start service. EarthBound's zipalign included on boot, including initial flash 'n boot. Other V6 options available in Terminal Emulator are sclean, fixfc, vac and flush. Please read his tread. Zeppelinrox links xda updates via tweets.
SuperSU (root)- Read about the SuperSU in XDA, here, and thank Chainfire. Root is now secured by SuperSU.
Sprint Connections Optimizer
Most Bloat removed; see kennyglass123's TPR thread for extra bloat flashable
Samurai custom FC09 kernel
- Voodoo sound
- Voodoo color
- Overclocking (enable higher frequencies in included Control Freak app)
- Undervolting (Stock voltages default; default I/O Scheduler and CPU Governor: vr/Samurai are a good setup for this ROM; alternate could be sio/wheatley)
Logsprovider fix...no texts in log (found in git)
swipe notification mod- thanks Ca1ne
GPS Fix - Thanks Heinkhieu
Hotspot Hack - Thanks Necrosan (found in git)
Modified Power Menu - Thanks to untermensch (found in git)
Scrollable status bar toggles - Thanks SenseiSimple (found in git)
ICS Transitions (found in git)
CRT Off animation (found in git)
CRT-On animation -there are sources for this but I cannot recall the contributor that simplified this mod; help please!
Smooth scroll- thanks AndroidOn (This feature removed in releases, after 7/20/2013)
Volume rocker mod (sound on to vibrate to silent) thanks mkasick (found in git)
Screen stays off when unplugged
No battery full popup (I use a visual "full" icon at the 1% battery because the icon is more accurate than blue light for bump charge users)
Removed audible low battery warning when screen is ON as well as that fake shutdown screech; it's now a silent pop-up at 5%. There are no interruptions of service or impact to performance.
Low Battery audio warning tone still sounds on boot or Screen-Off when battery is less than 5%; powers-down at 0%.
Included visual battery low warnings starting at 14% (battery % changes from white% to Red%) At 4% it starts animating with battery "!" icon.
Charge animation has been simplified; no wasted resources and bulk to animate a charge from current% to 100%; the UOT Decimal animates with charging icon to accomplish a reasonable charge animation. credit or criticism to me on those mods. Other mentionables: UOT Kitchen and LeoMar75 for in-depth GB mod
Center Clock Mod with no notification overlap- thanks to Ticklefish and sdojoin
Modified stock Lockscreen slider and ring- Sorry, I forgot the source of my original png but I modded it.
Some different sounds - thanks to Nash, SenseiSimple and others I'm sure
Blue Gingerbread Keyboard - disable other keyboards to use -thanks GregTard (and Orlzzt for finding it)
Transparent Mms.apk with tinted chat bubbles and fixes for text search and suggested search- by myself and MWBehr
Transparent Contacts- thanks MWBehr
Semi-transparent-curved dialer ported (by samep) from an original work kept alive by Paul Diddy's archive; sorry, I've forgotten the original author's id
Simple In-call dialer theme thanks to Paul Diddy for those buttons, too; backgound by me (samep)
Theme port by me, samep, thanks to the many sources here: Paul Diddy, Travmofosho, Nash, Tha_Dynasty2049, & Thomasskull666. Special thanks to jrummy16 for permission to use images and OG Droid bootanimation from ROM Toolbox; see pull-down animation and hidden GB Easter-egg.
Pull-down-animation with non-transparent background runs once and clears out of view, leaving semi-transparent notification background. All individual dividers removed to allow better view of animation.
TW Launcher (not present in later releases)
Removable apps: Titanium Backup, LBE Privacy, Control Freak, Script Manager and widgets, Voice Serach, and Customizable Gallery.
Intent:
To bring a well-equipped ROM and tool to end-users that is both pleasing to the eye and succeed with minimal flashing and tuning. You may recognize the kernel splash screen; kenny gave permission to use that. (it's the only version of the EB FC09 kernel with notification LED fixed). It's also EarthBound's best kernel for FC09 and needs no special tweaking; defaults are a very good starting point. Voltage Control is included in the flash as well as Titanium Backup, if needed for your paid apps restoration. SuperSU helps to avoid an issue loading wrong su binary from market, if updating to newest superuser but, so far, I've had no issue updating SuperSU and using the suggested su binary it asks the user to upgrade to. The included busy box is the one from SuperCharger Starter Kit and the V6 SuperCharger script is setup to launch at flash but doesn't go continuous service until rebooted once after the initial flash and boot. There is also a programmed 8-hour flush to free up RAM to hopefully reduce lag without inducing lag. You can test and adjust all these scripts to suit yourself but at least you can gain from from not having to set this up, initially. For updates and useful hints; read Zeppelinrox's OP and read some more. The added feature is only the beginning; V6 changes frequently and discussion is both educational and lively. No need to discuss much about V6-SC, here. Start here, if needed. Don't forget to thank him while you're there, if you haven't before. His work is also linked in his signature.
I've also included Black Market and YouTube by B-boy™ among the free apps that may frequently have to be loaded or restored when flashing a new ROM. His blacked-out/inverted and transparent apps are here. Thank him here.
Testing, notes & suggestions:
Testing
As far as I know, Legacy ROM versions are stable. I had asked volunteers to test 4G Wimaxx and hotspot tethering; no 4G here for me. One user of Legacy ROM v1.03 confirms 4G is working... not much complaints but requests were made for changes. I was maintaining more than one version to accommodate some users' requests but some have PM'd farewell wishes as they moved to other forums after phone upgrade so the multiple versions' support has ceased pending further requests which I do consider.
You've tested, now what?
Post your feedback. Request proposed changes. Test and share feedback. Like it? Use it. Wanna change something and share it? Fine but don't forget to credit the sources, including myself (some of my work is in there, too.)
Some V6_SuperCharger notes are here.
Color issues? see this post for voodoo app settings. thanks to Marcusant, lilajrestnom, and elevans for options, testing and searching.
Force Close or black screen with or without shutdown Issues? You need a good Superuser application that updates the su binary correctly on this phone, Superuser by ChainsDD and Superuser by ClockworkMod have been tested. ChainsDD su binary 3.0.3.2 can be found in BlackDogROM1.03 seems best suited to quickly and correctly declare a Force Close and allow you to Force a Close of app and continue without hanging up or rebooting. Sadly, there are third-party apps that can be tested but the developers have been notified of the issues. Android 2.3 is not fully supported by third-party apps but mostly functional. And I found that newer su binaries don't seem to be expecting these issues and SuperSU and some others were not correctly updating the su after install or upgrade. I was manually updating SuperSU and releasing new ROMs until I realized the Force Close issues were not properly declared and hanging the UI for prolonged periods. No disrespect intended to developers; I think we all share the burden for the unanticipated actions that lead to Force Closes so I'm not pointing any fingers. The Superuser apps are probably best suited for rooting and maintaining root newer devices, anyway.
Screenies and quick note: battery used for capacity testing is a 2000 mAh third-party product with GT18 months of use; on average, it provides about an extra hour of display time compared to the 1500 mAh OEM battery which still performs well. Some third-party batteries may actually be smaller in size, requiring extra backing to keep secure contact with terminals; my OEM battery fits tighter than any battery I've purchased. (I use a strand of electrical tape running along bottom, back and top of battery to fill the void.)

Legacy ROM...as I interpret the term, legacy, an honorary gift from previous and current developers on a now outdated device (yeah, but I hope to get a Galaxy S4, soon). As well as the implied: use at your own risk...I am not responsible for anything that could go wrong... please read before asking questions...Download link is at bottom of this post.
What is this?
As the description states: This is a new ROM built from kennyglass123's deodexed from stock FC09 to include all modifications from the gingerbread gits still maintained by SenseiSimple and toadlife. Other mods have been added and available in XDA and elsewhere. Briefly, it includes the mods included in TPR (The People's ROM by kennyglass123) with exception of the flying-in transitions. Legacy ROM uses the ICS transitions found in SenseiSimple's git along with all those found there for TouchWiz FC09 ROMs. I've also added Zeppelinrox's V6 SuperCharger script and Chainfire's latest SuperSU.
After the source and credits get updated, I hope to move this thread to the development thread. Suggested source code or theme will be will be considered to make this a fun collaborative effort, if it doesn't lose support due to its predictable short-life-expectancy.
I have heard from one source that ODIN is not required, if coming from CM but I have not tested that, myself (for CM to TW, personally, I'd recommend back-up, ODIN, root and then flash this).
Why post this in the general forum?
I have yet to compile an accurate list of included features and credits. My notes on file at home were lost due to a local issue and I'm gathering that data again to post in the development thread at a later time. Meanwhile, this is ready for testing. I need volunteers to test 4G Wimaxx and hotspot tethering; no 4G here for me.
You've tested, now what?
Post your feedback. Request proposed changes. Offer to help with screenshots and decorative forum splashes, if inclined to share something useful to others considering a test run of their own. Like it? Use it. Wanna change something and share it? Fine but don't forget to credit the sources, including myself (some of my work is in there, too.)
Suggestions:
Other than just going back to your favorite launcher, the Lightning Launcher can be easily setup to suit your own use. I recommend adding to each home-screen before removing all that is there to preserve that screen's programmed stops. Otherwise, the setup becomes a little more complicated. The tutorials are linked on home-screen. The initial setup is very good if you only need three home-screens. You can add many more and even scroll up, down, left, right for multiple home-screens if you like. The dated thread on LL suggests that you have to buy a widget to use your app widgets; no longer the case, you can setup app widgets. Live wallpaper is supported but AFAIK, you have to set a shortcut in gestures to do that: I used "Two Fingers Down" swipe gesture and selected "wallpaper" function from the drop-down list to get LWP supported. I also programmed the Home key to get notifications from pull-down; interestingly, now the Back key finds my home screen like the former Home key when viewing the home-screens.
Read about the SuperSU in XDA, here, and thank Chainfire. Root is now secured by SuperSU.
Nice job samep. Good to see you still continuing on with the work we once started. Sorry that I haven't been around much to help. Been trying to learn new things from the pros and family and personal life has taken much of my time. Luckily there are other talented minds out there in effsi and dropple and bthorne79 and saramon to help keep us Rollin on the good ol OG epic. This is the best group of guys I've ever worked with. Gonna test this as soon as I get to my PC. Thanks bro.

Working on it but it's not really in my skill set. Anyone willing to make some; please do.
If you saw Cut & Paste Extra Crispy version, the differences would be most noted in theme, animated pull-down, boot animation, charge animation and lock screen. The large UOT Decimal 0-100% battery remains but I centered the clock and moved the low battery warning from wherever it was to 5%. The bonus on the warning is that if your screen is on, no audible warning; just a visual pop-up. I was able to remove that fake shutdown that would interrupt services like hang-up a phone call in-progress. No more startling warning tones while your holding the phone but if the screen is off or you boot with battery 5% or less, you will get the audible warning of low battery.
So to characterize low battery warnings while display remains on:
LT 15% battery % indicator turns from white to red (as in Cut & Paste Extra-Crispy)
5% you get a pop-up warning to plug-in.
LT 5% an animation starts to cycle between battery % (red) to !battery symbol.
0%-phone turns off
Use responsibly; you have been warned; lol! I did this for my own liking; what do you think? Keep it or go back to 15% or 20% screeeeech-fake-shutdown? Personally, that annoyed me. The best way to get 100% out of our battery is to wipe the battery stats when flashing new ROM or less than 50% on a reboot. If you needed until it shut down; you'd have it without it interrupting service. No risk to battery life AFAIK.
Actually, the differences are mostly in animation and function that screen shots may miss. IDK how in-depth screenshots can go; a video review may reveal more about this ROM than screenshots(?) I didn't give it wallpaper but I am open to suggestions.

Sorry, I've been slacking on the screenies. I just added 3 to the OP.
The wallpaper is not default (yet); let me know if this one is wanted or not. I'm taking requests for wallpaper but I do want to keep it dark and natural looking. This one is time lapsed.
Working on an update due to some market apps updating and minor appearance changes.
Possible revision upcoming and V6_SuperCharger Notes
I'm now holding off on an update I had uploaded & posted in OP; sorry to say that it looks like one of the build.prop may be breaking bluetooth. If you installed v1.02, test Bluetooth ( I couldn't get mine to turn on until I backed the build.prop out and went back to to a revised one). I'll see if I can add some battery savers in and leave out whatever is impacting Bluetooth enable). Removing the link until I sort this out. I would delete the post but the notes about V6_SuperCharger may still be of some use.
upcoming change log
update market apps
minor theme change (most of them in extended power menu and alternate AOSP lockscreen)
possibly add more battery saving tweaks to build.prop to test; from here.
Now may be a good time to review (for those not familiar) the script commands found in Zeppelinrox's thread.
To Test:
Open a Terminal Emulator session and type "cat /proc/*/cmdline | grep Super" (only what is inside the quotes)
If you get only "Super", the service is not running.
If running, the return also returns /system/etc/init.d/99SuperCharger & /data/99SuperCharger.sh
Things to look for:
browse to sdcard and see if a file something like "!SuperCharger.html" exists. If so, the text inside has a link to a help file from Zeppelinrox to help you. As a troubleshooting help, the file copies to your sdcard when running the script. You can also delete this file after running the script successfully to know that if it appears again, there may be an issue running a service a boot. Just remember, it may have appeared again because you ran the script but did not delete it.
You can also check your logs found at /data (use a root browser to navigate and check) for the various services ran at boot; they may give clues to problems encountered. You can also read the script for your setup. Note: I used thses while troubleshooting the integration of V6_SuperCharger into the ROM. I don't anticipate problems unless you've made changes.
How to make changes:
You'll need to download the latest Zeppelinrox script. see the OP for link; you also need this for updates to V6_SuperCharger services. Outside of flashing this ROM, your support for V6_SuperCharger service should come from searching and reading his thread.
Sorry, but to uninstall V6-SuperCharger, you'll need to download the script.
If you have no previous settings but want to make changes, run the script and select "Driver Options" to make those changes.
Already have V6_SuperCharger and don't want my setup?
I have not tested this theory but I think if you run the script and charge from sdcard (default) on your initial boot, you will overwrite all my settings. Also, I think as long as the script is not run, your SDcard settings remain unchanged. No guarantees; I have not tested this.
Terminal Emulator Options:
type "su" then V6_SuperCharger command as follows, below
"fixalign"- Two operations in one- fix permissions and zipalign
"vac"- cleans the Database
"sclean"- superclean and restart (really not necessary as service is setup to continually run)
"flush"- delete some cache to make more RAM available
Note: want to do all the above? Just reboot; done!
Note: There is a delay in starting the SuperCharger Service after a boot. Due to startup programs and other services trying to start, you cannot expect initial speediness after a boot. I've tried to keep the phone on a flush schedule of 8 hours. It's also untested but there could be times that an timely flush could cause lag. Please let me know if this becomes an issue and any steps you may have tried or are familiar with to avoid this possibility. It's possible that a ScriptManager Widget for "vac" may work better on demand. Thanks!
Running this now--extremely awesome ROM! It is fast, smooth, and stable for me. I'll test 4g tomorrow when I go out (dont have it at home).
Request: Can you give an option to disable the android drawing when the notification bar is pulled down? It's cool, but pretty distracting when it does it every time.
Thanks for your hard work
Re: [ROM][FC09][TW-MTD] Legacy ROMv1.01
Well, I can remove it altogether and post an alternate download.
Do you like the aosp lock screen better than TouchWiz? I was gonna post a link for one, later. If so, I'll make them in one flash. No pulldown animation with aosp lock screen included.

My vote definitely goes for AOSP lockscreen, it always seemed easier on the thumb. Also I'm for a no animation version
v1.03 with AOSP lock-screen, no animated pull-down and updates
Download: FC09.LegacyROMv1.03_MTD.zip (linked in OP); Please read updated flash instructions just below...
Flash Instructions:
Backup data or nandroid
Wipe data, cache and dalvik
Flash ROM
Restore Data or advanced restore data from nandroid
Reboot once more
Note: This version has been removed; discovered why it can only be clean installed. New version to be released, soon.
change log:
improved V6_Supercharger integration
improved some .png's for AOSP lock-screen and extended power-menu
added a few more battery saver tweaks to build.prop- thanks omair2005
removed pull-down animation
removed Lightning Launcher and installed ADW Launcher
updated market apps

Ok got a chance to test 4g. It activates but cant connect in the area where I used to get 4g. It's possible though that there is a network issue in my area
Edit: do i need a full wipe to go 1.02>1.03?

Basic BLN support in the kernel. Enable/disable it in Settings > Sound & notification > Notification > Notification light
Should be a noticeable improvement in the occasional lag, but there seems to be a general bug related to this that affects many devices. With our device, it's more noticeable due to lower resources in general than newer devices have.
Default DPI is now set to the native device default of 240, but you can change this to several preset values in Settings > Display > LCD density.

Special thanks to @RobbieL811 for temporarily hosting some of these builds! If you see him around, be sure to thank him!
GApps:
Use TK PIco GApps from AndroidFileHost | BasketBuild
(Main TK GApps thread on XDA)
TWRP Recovery:
TWRP 2.8.7.0 with F2FS support in IMG, TAR and ZIP formats. Thanks to @javelinanddart for compiling these.
Instructions:
Reboot to recovery.
Make a nandroid backup.
Boot into recovery. You need a newer version for lollipop. Tested with TWRP 2.8.7.0 recovery linked above.
Make a nandroid backup.
Make sure you're on one of these radios or newer for now: I727:UCMC1|I727R:UXUMA7
FULL WIPE/Format: /system, /data, /cache and /dalvik.
Flash the ROM.
Flash GApps(use Slim Mini or Zero GApps).
If you want ROOT, you have to unlock Developer Options by going to Settings > About phone and clicking on the Build number field 7 times. Then you can enable Root in Settings > Developer Options > Root access.
Reboot when finished
Boot animation is delayed 10-20 seconds, and takes about 10 minutes to boot up on a clean flash, so be patient and give it time.
Enjoy!
Note: You may not see all the ringtones, notification sounds, etc. until the phone goes to sleep, or the Media Scanner finds them. Also, check the Settings > Sound & notification > Interruptions menu to make sure these aren't disabled, as in "No interruptions". This disables the sounds.
Issues? Post a logcat on Pastebin, link to it here, and provide as many details as possible, such as ROM version, GApps used, radio/modem, cell provider, or anything relevant to the problem or how to duplicate the issue.
Enjoy!
Screen shots and stuff:
NOTE: RRO is no longer part of the Slim sources. Basic layer support is included (v1). I am not sure where this is going with Slim but feel we need a theme engine of some kind. I've left these images here for fun. If I find I can pick the RRO commits back into my builds I will try, but if we go weekly, it will have to come from the bosses...
Some screen shots using RRO Layer Theme Synergy_v4 by Brian Gill are attached.
Note you need the Bitsyko RRO Themes app, which you can get by signing up for beta testing, and then you can use Google to find other themes. Full instructions are in the link.
Note there is some Teal mixed in with the Blue, but you get the idea...

Yes sir, it's what I primarily use. It still works well, even though it's discontinued.
My computer likes to connect to the phone's USB storage with PhilZ, whereas with TWRP it has trouble sometimes.
Both should work (for now)... [emoji14]

New build in OP with WORKING AUDIO ! Huge thanks to @gimmeitorilltell for collaborating on this! GPS locks fast... The source needs to be sorted out and pushed to Slim still, so if you're looking to build, you'll have to wait a bit. Still a WIP...
I need some people to test phone calls and SMS/MMS functionality since my Skyrocket has no SIM card. Share a link to your logcat on Pastebin if possible please.
Let's get this thing all prettied up!

OK, thanks so MMS pics aren't working? Did you set your default data type and APN correctly? If you can try other ones, it might be useful.
You can share your log using pastebin.com and providing a link here to it. If you can't post links, just spell out the url with words or PM me (if you can).
New build is up in the OP. Not a lot changed, except some source moved around on Slim since msm8660 got it's own CAF branches.
Beware if you try the torch tile, you will have to reboot to use the camera. This is an issue with the Nexus phones too and I hope to see it fixed soon.
Here's a direct link to the ROM (instructions are in the OP):

Use the latest Slim normal GApps v467 or Slim mini GApps v467. The full GApps package is very large and might not fit into the system. I had issues with apps disappearing like Play Store and Play Services issues. You don't want that deal...
Just put this on my skyrocket. Wow! Its like a new phone . So fast and smooth. I had to order a new battery though. It will be interesting to see what the battery life is really like as the one I have dies pretty quickly considering it the original. Wish I could access all 16gb of the internal memory for apps though.

[R&D] oZoP support and compatibility

I am creating this R&D thread for a project I've been working on for most of this year.
The project named "oZoP" is an All-in-One mods/themes/tweaks for the phone.
The plan for the project is to make it a universally compatible for ALL stock based rom (AOSP is not and never will be supported or compatible)
I will probably release oZoP ConTroL as a stand alone zip mod that will do most of the work and include most or the options.
Eventually I will release the full Aroma oZoP (One Zip One Place) that will include a full rom with all bloat files (all optional of course), along with various other tools needed to build you phones setup the way you like it.
The reason for this thread is to receive valuable and needed user feedback, recommendations and requests.
The feedback will be used to build "OUR" project into a bug free, totally stable experience that will have something for everyone!!
We will get into more detail about what info is needed and how we can get it all put together.
I will add more details as I update this thread. There are A LOT of mods and a lot of info so this will take time.
If you are really that interested and just need to know more, you can always take a glance at some of my other projects,
Most of these projects are simply just sections of oZoP that have been pulled out as a stand alone mod.
Here are a few samples of the mods during the build phase (some features may or may not appear the same or make it to the initial public release)

As you can see from what I have in the previews above There are a lot of options and configurations possibility and that's only about 1/5th of what is actually available at this point today.
With all those options come lots of possible conflicts with the various devices and variants that are planned to be on the list of compatible devices.
That brings me to the reason for this thread... I have the H918 Tmobile and may or may not need several users with other devices to be the support section to check compatibility!
To be clear, I have been building this project since March and have recently finished running clean install testing for the past 10 days to ensure all the defaults are set properly and that there are zero bugs that I can detect with my setup.
Again, just because everything works as it is intended for me with my model phone, carrier variant and app and setting setup, doesn't mean it will be the same for everyone.
This thread will hopefully eliminate any possibilities of this not working for everyone and ensures a wonderful experience
You may or may not have seen the following projects. They are in fact sections of oZoP pulled out as stand alone mods.
They have been sort of "silent" compatibility tests that have passed with flying colors. There has been no reports of things not working.
oZoP Modz - Full-screen Caller ID
oZoP MoDz - System Animations
BOOT/SHUTDOWN ANIMATION CHANGER
The next test is being announce as such and is starting taking place right here right now.
This has been tested privately for the last few days and the confirmed Roms and devices include Weta (all US carriers), NATF and one I can't remember right now

2. Stock based deodex rom

Report bug properly to get my support
Of course there are many way to properly report bugs and ALL of these ways have one thing in common, THEY ALL REQUIRE VERY DETAILED NOTES of the issue!
I'm moy goimg to go deep into how detailed you could get because lets face it, most people that report improperly are the ones who don't read and probably are going to read this! HaHaHa...
To get support from me I only ask for some simple things
1. What device, and rom you are running
2. What is the issue (no boot, fc everywhere, fc only certain app etc...)
3. Which option did you select
4. Did you get the install log
5. Did you use the restore.zip option to get back running
6. Do other choices share the same effect
That looks like a lot, but it really is the minimum amout of info need to troubleshoot!
Provide me that and I'll do my best to fix things and make this fun for everyone.
If you post things like
"Doesn't work", "bootloop" or anyone other similar post that have no value and help development is no way, actually these kinds of post only put development behind amd slow progress die the fact that anyone who cam help has to waste their time reading it!
If these kind of post ever come up, its best to ignore the lazy person and not clog the thread with flaming replies as that too slows development!

Just curious I could have missed it but will the ability to turn off the annoying battery full notification be included in the mods? And any chance the ROM could include WETA like abilities to modify what is on the second screen (ie: 3min clock)?
Thanks for sharing all this by the way. Exciting times for our V20!
I noticed today that if I do a bulk execute on the second screen mods work on weta. But if I try to just modify them under ui mods individual it causes the system ui to crash. I'm on Verizon weta 5.1 #2

For the clock I have mod native built with control of many thing which do include layout position. I also have native build battery controls including the option to switch between stock modded or 3 minit batteries.
I have stock battery position left/right, but so far it doesn't work right for second screen so the battery will be in the stock position on the right for now.
The reason for this thread is for suggestion, recommendations.
That being said, i currently do not have a switch for the full battery notification.... Currently... I will be adding that and you can expect to see it in the official release!
Thank you

For the 3 replies about having compatibility issues, I want to say this does not come to a surprise and I can assure you that this will not be the case with the official release.
I suspect the reason for this fc issue is because WETA is a very customized rom and some of the mods are probably pushing files the the sysui which I modded and the old files are conflicting because they do not include the referances to the edits I made for the animated home button etc.
This will not be an issue when all the oZoP files are in place.
So i also want to clear this up...
Once the official oZoP is ready and gets installed on to your rom, it will override ALL current mods of your rom. The mod includes most core system files that devs mod.
Don't worry though, i am pretty sure that ANY mods you currently have will be available with oZoP.
If we find out that there is a mod which I haven't included, just let me know and i will definitely do what i can to add the feature.
Sorry for the inconvenience. I will make things more clear for the future as well as add a restore failsafe to the zips.

I think it would be cool to have a working color coded battery bar for the second screen especially for the AOD part as it's easier to read than a small white battery icon and even the 3minit battery is still pretty tiny when trying to see it at a glance. Not sure if it is do-able
2nd screen is awesome on this phone just wish there was more ways to customize it. Be nice to force it to max brightness as well as being able to increase the time it displays notifications like text messages and stuff.

Again, thank you and this is what this thread is about, getting things we all want in one mod!
So for battery bar in SS, i already have the options for top/bottom placement, regular (left to right) or centered style, charging animation on/off, size and colorpicker for any color. I do not have it color coded, I assume you mean by percentage of battery remaining?
I can definitely look at adding to my code, but that may come in future updates...
As for the other battery options, stock battery is only white if you choose to leave it that way. The battery icon has color optiins for background, foreground and in-battery precentage colors. The icon has several styles including hide, circle and dotted cirlces. 3minit is 3minit, no need to go into that one.
As you can see, there are currently options that could hopefully satisfy your battery needs.
I totally aggree about needing more controls for SS options like brightness and screen notification timeouts.
@Zacharee1 and I have been looking deeper to add options for pulse and text color controls, but again this one may have to be for future updates as well...
Thank you for your interest and participation here.
Thanks for taking time to clear up as to why we're having issues. Your mods are awesome. And I commend you for putting the time in to do this for this phone. ?? ?? Im sure everyone in this forum with this phone is extremely grateful to you for doing this, as we don't have many choices for roms and such for a phone that is a year old. It amazes me, my old old HTC desire and galaxy s4 are still getting roms released yet this phone is all but abandoned. Lol anyway thank you immensely and I look forward to the finished product. (I will also beta test any releases you push if needed)

I need to write them down because I can never think of stuff on the spot but it's always whenever the problem arises.
Most of my suggestions pretty much center around the 2nd screen as there is just a disappointing lack of customization for it considering that is the biggest defining feature about the V20.
I was hoping LG would add more stuff to it after they talked big about focusing on the 'V' series as their main contender with the G series taking a backseat compared to it but with the V30 coming out sans a 2nd screen I have a bad feeling that if anything they are going to abandon any 2nd screen updates completely or just streamline it (i.e. neuter it with less features but make it look prettier) for the Oreo update if this phone ever gets it.
I also have a bad feeling that Oreo is going to be a long ways out for this phone so your timing with the mods and ROM are perfect ?
I'm extremely interested in this ozop rom. Thanks for puting all you time and effort into this. Will this work for the sprint ls997 model? If so which rom will we need to be running?
