Today I received my new shiny Asus Transformer, everything works great except the Market itself...
I can't even download any apps, paid or free. When I try to download any apps, it start like trying to download, but there is no progress on notification bar and it just keep like that.
I reset the tablet several times, also, cleaned the cache of the Market and Framework services, shutdown (restart) several times... nothing
Is this happening to anyone? I searched this forum and performed the steps above, but still nothing...
Please, help
Have you look into My App area, you will see, not installed list of apps. I get that as well...I am not sure if it's a bug or intended. Sometimes, it would stay at download forever. I got to go out and go back into the Market and redo it all over.

Yes, sometimes the apps I am trying to download don't even appear there and sometimes it does. When it says "Installing" sometimes, 1 hour can pass and still nothing... no progress on the notification bar.
In fact, I can't install anything from there, not even using the website version, https://market.android.com/
I had/have this same issue I think its a bug in the market app. I've just flashed the new firmware and it seems to work OK now.
My solution was to press back over and over until I exited the market fully, then start a new instance of it. Works on and off.
Ill let you know if the update solves this issue.

Thanks for the info.
I tried that, still no luck I need to know if this is a widespread issue or not.
I have the EVO and tried to download apps and install them now without any problems.
Also, I have discovered that I can't log in into GTalk either, but I can browse without any issues.

Sounds like an odd issue with your account. Try to check settings, accounts an sync .. and see if anything is amiss. If not, then try to create a new gmail account, and use that to login to market/gtalk. See if there is some confusion as to your phone account and your tablet. Do you have settings>Privacy ticked off for google to back up your apps and sync them? Try disabling if so.
Had same issue and went into settings and had to delete my gmail account and then add it again, worked fine after that!
Thanks for the replies.
1. The Backup and Restore settings are turned off.
2. I have created another Google account and removed the original, still the same problem.
3. The EVO is currently off just in case.
After doing some research, I've discovered that Gtalk have something to do with the Market, if Gtalk can sign in, then the market should works for downloads. If not, then there is a problem.
ok... wtf
After adding a new Google account while replacing the original one, the issue still happened.
Then, I decided for a million times, to make another Factory Reset with my original account again... now GTalk logon and the Market download/install apps
I will keep this thread in mind and report if anything weird happens again.
Android Market hates me. I didn't really want to have to create another gmail account but I have tried every other trick posted and still can't get apps to download.
I had this same problem with my Samsung Fascinate. 3G would download fine but I couldn't get WiFi to work until just recently when I updated the radio that came with the OTA Froyo update plus a new custom rom/kernel. I'm not sure which piece all of the sudden made things work but I was certainly happy. What's so frustrating is that I set up a Droid on the same home network with absolutely no problems from day one.
Amazon App store works fine but many of the apps I want aren't available there. Grrr.

This occurred to me after rooting the TF. I was able to correct it by going into applications and force stop and clearing data on both Market and both google framework services. Then try to restart market, if you don't get a error go back to applications and do it again. Once you get the error reboot, when you try market after the reboot it will ask you to accept terms again and then all is was right again with the world.
I have the same problem. How I can do a Factory Reset?
It was working ok but now it gives an error with the server. Eventually it will download the aplication after trying several times but will fail in the instalation. I have deleted and created again my account with no results.
Welcome to my problem. Another member told me the issue lies with our google accounts and how it syncs up with the market.
I have tried the other methods deleting cache / signing in and out etc. to no avail.
Only solution is to factory reset. Sad thing is it has happened to me 3x in the past 5 days.
I only hope for a solution to this soon.
3 times, that is scary.
Something has surprised me when I upgraded my phone to the new Galaxy S 2 from HTC HD 2 running an Android rom. When I introduced the google account it automaticaly pointed me all the aplications that I had installed in the old phone (free or paid) and give me an easy option to install all quickly. They were identified as my aplications, even they were not installed.
Is this funtion present here? It will remember what aplications I had installed in the transformer before or I will need to look for all of them again?
solution to download apps
press on apps on the home screen. then press on market. this will get you started click on sign in at top right of screen. it should automatically do a sign in with your google account. then go from there
Honestly, not sure that this has to do with my transformer, but my tf101 seems to be the only device affected by the following problem:
When i go to google play, if i try to install an app that i had purchased in the past, it stays stuck on download and doesn't even start. I tried to redownload the same apps on other devices (lg 2X for example) and it works fine. My transformer did work fine until last week as well.
I've got no idea of what could be causing this, any suggestions? I tried switching back and forth from different google accounts but the problem persists. Reinstalling google play didn't work either.
Edit: it would look like redownloading certain apks works, seems like it only doesn't work with larger apk files (> 2mb, but it may be a coincidence). I'm even more confused now
Edit2: The issue is definitely related to apk dimension. Can't install from market apks larger than 20mbs. How is this possible? i'm still on honeycomb stock to avoid the ics mess, and i can remember downloading large apks fine just few months ago. Any solution?
You could try wiping your cache, force closing play, and if you're rooted wipe market stats in Titanium Backup, that should probably fix it.
Also try the install button off of a computer, and then it sends to your tf, that might get it to work.
Regarding large files... is your wifi connection decent?
Also, make sure you are able to connect and login to Talk. The Play store doesn't work properly unless you can log Talk, been there a few times. With mine, even trying to install free apps would give a purchasing error because Talk connection was getting interrupted before logging in.
it's not a big deal, as I can easily reboot to recovery and re-flash root.
however it's getting annoying, and I'm trying to figure out what could be the possible causes that might cause root to "randomly" disappears.
I've tracked down a couple of possible scenarios where root can be lost, due some failed patching of some sort, but it still doesn't explains other cases like when launching a game from the Google Play store, then hanging and after End Task, to find out that Root is gone.
I use an app called Auto Mount along with my 120GB microSD so I can keep all my apps/games running without filling up the built-in storage. I also use Titanium backup and Droid Wall, BusyBox and many other Utility Apps that needs root.
Yet all those are well known trusted apps, so I have no clue what or if anything is being send down from Google Play store to reset root
Recently Google Play have been doing weird things, and needs to often delete the cache / data, so things can be downloaded or updated properly, otherwise you'll get those typical play store error codes.
Anybody else suspect or got an idea what could be causing this issue?
so, after additional test, I noticed anytime I make a change to the blocking rules in DroidWall, it causes the problem after applying the new changes.
Another app that seems to also kills root is CSR racing update by itself, after letting it update, it also kills root.
newer version of CSR does not uses google play to update, also it ignores the blockings in DroidWall
Alot of the issue could be that the way android mounts the SD card it was never made for apps. I will bet that if you stop using auto mount and store the apps an the normal storage you will stop seeing this issue.
After many long attempts to fix this I have come up empty handed. I believe the Hardware is either corrupted or damaged but need an expert to help confirm. (it doesnt even seem worth it at this point to fix, but i want to try anyways, its my kids tablet) I will add as much detail as possible.
First the tablet would get stuck in booting (A9 screen) found that this is due to a corrupted firmware. I flashed a firmware onto the device and it was able to boot up, however still with a few issues. google play store when updated would instantly crash "google play store has stopped" the second you clicked to use it. the only fix i found for this was to uninstalled the google play store update back to factory and it would worked, with the problem of some apps had to be downloaded over and over until it decided to complete, often finishing with a package file invalid. but i managed to get a few games and whatever and gave it back to my daughter.
after about a week everything crashed at once on boot up. process.google.gapps would crash over and over and over as soon as you click ok, many other apps crashing as well and just repeating google account manager, Key chain, RS OTA, and others i cant remember at this time (the problem is currently not occurring or i would go get this information.) mostly the gapps process was crashed over and over making the tablet unusable due to constantly trying to click these errors.
Odd behaviour, during that i managed to click and quickly select settings, and went in and deleted a bunch of apps or uninstalled updates on ones that were crashing, i could uninstalled enough to stop all the errors.. then i rebooted the tablet.. and all the errors were back, and everything i uninstalled was back too, how the f**k?! lol.
i attempted such things as going into recovery and deleting all the cache and media, nothing. so i flashed it again.
the above error return after some time. and i flashed it again (my daughter wanted it working this seems to be my only quick and temporary fix, i have disabled many apps and stopped it from automatically updating, however i still found some settings after being changed, to be undone back to the way it was before i changed it after rebooting the tablet. again it always crashes when google play store updates. this time i rebooted the tablet and went to update the store, and now the app can NOT be found in the store. there does not even seen like a way to update the tablet like "here is your only buggy version, have fun"
CORRECTION: Google Play Store could not be updated because after restarting the tablet the updates were back, as if i had never uninstalled them. i didnt bother checking the first time because this is very unusual.
I am willing to root, change, hack, smash, throw out the window, put it in the hydraulic press at work...i dont care lol
i believe the hard drive has damage.
(i didnt run thru all the attempts i have made to fix things, cause i could write a novel. Thank you for reading.

Sup fellas just posting this from my phone
Basically I rooted it with CFAUTO root I found on a site that seemed trustworthy due to its credibility found on various sites.
Root works perfectly along with Xposed for awhile but eventually a week later every single app will start force closing, or immediately fail to launch on touch. From instagram to KiK to play store itself.
Rebooting is not a good solution as it resolves into a boot loop.
This has been happening consistently for a few weeks. The only solution to get my phone back up and running is to do a factory reset (which in turn means setting everything up again to my preferences. )
This pretty much led me to leave the phone as it comes plus a few common apps and just rely on my iPad more.
Does anyone have a solution? I followed the tutorial down to the T. Video and guide. I'm considering switching to stock but want to see if anyone else had this issue or was able to fix it
I would say to use this guide.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039
Havent tried CFAUTO root, and I dont think its recommended.
I had a similar issue with apps force closing, though I didn't use cfauto root.
The issues I had, after finding out from much trial and error, was that after I rooted my apps would update before Google play services. This would cause problems because the updated apps needed the updated play services to run.
Revert back to stock, then make sure that Google play services is up to date before updating any other app. After play services are up to date, make sure your play store is up to date. Then go ahead and update all of your apps. Next reroot your phone.
Like I said before I didn't use cfauto root, but I hope this helps.
