[Completed] Note 2 not charging after flashing back to stock Rom with Odin - XDA Assist

I have been using Cyanogenmod for a while, and after installing a series of buggy nightlies, I decided to flash it back to stock. However, once I did that, I am now unable to charge my phone. Now when I open Odin and put the phone in download mode and connect the phone it recognizes the phone and let me reflash it. However, the phone is not being recognized otherwise by the computer and hence it is not charging via computer as well (It is only being recognized by Odin when in download mode)
The only time I was able to charge it post stock flashing was just after I flashed it, but that's just once. It wont let me charge again. I flashed it again, the same thing happened, it let me charge for the first time post flash, but not more than that.
It also charged a second time post flashing when I left it plugged in to the wall charger overnight. When I plugged it in, it did not show any sign of being charged or any LED indication as well, but when I woke up in the morning it showed my battery had 100% (without the thunder sign on the battery icon, I removed and plugged it back in, it did not charge again)
Sometimes, when I plug the charger in, the LED glows, but the battery icon in the notification does not show a thunder sign of charging, however when I open the battery details, it shows the battery as charging, but in reality, the battery simply drains. This too happens only sometimes not every time when I plug the charger in
Kindly reply if anyone has any solution
Edit: Not sure if this was the right place to post this, would be much obliged if anyone can show me the right place if this is not it. Thanks!!

You will get help from the right experts if you could post in

If you turn off the phone completely and then plug it into the wall then it has to charge irrespective of any software or Rom. If it still has a problem charging when powered off, then the Micro USB has gone flaky on the phone.

Thanks for the link

I have submitted it in the Note 2 forum as well. I have tried different chargers and USB cables, none seems to work

Since You have posted in the Right forum, that would be the best place for the right experts to help you.

[Q] Galaxy S Bricked-HELP!

Hi guys
First post, so please be nice
I recently received a galaxy s on the virgin 29 cap. Today I decided to upgrade to froyo 2.2.1 via odin, it worked flawlessly. Next I installed hardcore kernel with lag fix enabled. After that I decided to install Darkys custom Rom. Due to not removing the lag fix it started looping on the samsung galaxy S logo. I decided to restore it to factory settings via flashing, however halfway through the flash Odin displayed FAIL, so i disconnected my USB cable. Now whenever I turn it on the phone gets stuck on the samsung logo. If i plug in the charger/usb cable an empty battery sign comes up with a non-spinning disk.
The worst part is I cannot access the download mode or recovery mode.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Note:Im sorry if there are other threads but I am really distressed.
Give this a shot: (from this link)
Unplug your Device
Pull out the SIM, External SD Card, and Battery
Plug in the mini-USB Cable back into your phone.
While holding down BOTH Up/Down Volume Buttons re-insert the battery.
If you get the "grey battery charging" screen. Then you will need to try and re-attempt it as it didn't work. You should get the download screen and be ready to go back to stock.
Just so you know, your question really belongs here, in the Captivate Q&A section. There's lots more in all the stickies within that subforum you should study
If that doesn't work, you may need a jig.
Thanks
Unfortunately your methods did not work. I am considering making/buying a jig however i am unsure whether or not it will work- My phone will not turn on unless plugged into the charger/computer. When I plug it in an empty battery icon appears with a non-rotational disk.

Oh, dear, that does sound like a brick. Josh from Mobiltech may be able to help you. He also sells jigs, if you're not technically apt (like me )
I have purchased a jig, hopefully it works! Thanks for all your help.

[Q] S3 not turning on

I recently got a microusb to usb female cable and was playing around with it on my s3. I wanted to see if the s3 could power a laptop cooling fan (Im a curious guy) and plugged in the usb cooling pad. The pad worked to my surprise but it suddenly shut off. I look at the s3 and the s3 is off too. I try turning it back on but that didnt work. I try taking the battery out and then turning it on but that didnt work. I plugged it into a charger and tried turning it on but that didnt work either. I even tried booting it into download mode and that didnt work. It would be really nice if someone could help me because im freaking the ****s out right now. Thanks
When you put it in the charger, did you give it at least 5 minutes to get a charge? Put it back in the charger and wait a little bit.
I just plugged it in for a few minutes and the phones just seems to get hot and still refuses to turn on
I wonder if the cooling fan tried taking too much power from the S3...
You may have fried the S3 battery or something.
Just a guess

Do you know someone else with an S3 that you could borrow a battery from? I would also think you may have damaged the battery and that would be the quickest way to test for that.
Are you getting any kind of vibration feedback when trying to power it on? I had a similar issue when I used an under powered usb charger. It drained it to the point it wouldnt even boot up and got hot. however, I did have to let charge normally for quite a while. good luck
Pull the battery then put it back in. Ley it charge for an hour. Then try going into recovery. Mine wouldn't turn on one day ( I wasn't doing any experimental stuff though) but that's what fort me running. Once I was on recovery I just selected reboot system and it fired right up.

I got verizon to send me a replacement device but would they figure out the device is rooted? The phone is completely dead and does not turn on even with a different battery. Anyone ever send in a rooted device to verizon?

[Completed] ATT Galaxy Note 2 SGH-I317 charging issue after flashing custom rom

I installed TWRP 2.7 on my ATT galaxy note 2 SGH-I317 and flash with custom rom. Now I am having charging issues with my phone.
1. When my phone is off and charger is connected to the phone, phone does not charge. I can only see gray battery image with processing icon.
2. When my phone is on, my battery does not charge when connected to charger (Charge % stays the same or decreased even after hours of charging). I need to take out my battery and put back in before charging my phone (By doing this phone charges normally).
I check my charging port. It is working fine.
Help!!
Hi there!
I suggest going back to stock and seeing if its fine....here is a guide,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2275844
Or simply try another ROM.
If its the same on stock....its likely hardware. Charger or cable or something.
Hopefully another ROM or stock will fix it. ?

I followed steps given in the tutorial
It fixed one of the problem.
Now if the phone is up and running, it charges normally.
One issue is still there: When my phone is off and charger is connected to the phone, phone does not charge. I can only see gray battery image with processing icon.

Might can be 2 problems, battery or either charger.
Did you wipe data/cache? If not try it out
I'm glad one problem is solved.....as for the other one, you will have to ask in your device sections Q&A forum....here....

Yes, I wiped data and cache while installing new os
I don't think it is an issue with battery or charger, because phone charges normally when it is on.
You will need to ask about this in the thread I linked above.

[Completed] Paper weight HTC ONE (M7) (unique)

Hey guys, so I'm in quite a pinch. I was on my way back from a trip in my friends truck, he has a 12V to dual usb. Couldn't find exact amperage per port but the charger was labeled 2000 mA and it was not a fused charger. My phone is connected and charging, he connects his iPhone with a sketchy cable and the cable catches on fire (not joking, legit flames) right where it connects to the lighting port. My phone starts vibrating with a black screen until I unplug it. His phone is fine however mine will not turn on. I go into the bootloader and select fastboot and it starts normally but now it wont charge. Battery started at 5% and quickly died, the phone was incredibly warm. Every once in a while it would randomly vibrate even though it was off. I leave it plugged in for an hour or two and then start it again and its at 1% battery life and quickly dies. I figured the short in the cable caused some damage to the battery or charging port, so I ordered both and installed both. Immediately after installing them, I entered the bootloader and told it to reboot. It turns on and all is fine, battery is at 5% and I proceed to plug in the charger (1 amp htc charger) and nothing. Not charging. I tried every single combination and time of light, Volume +, Volume -, and power. I tried multiple chargers and nothing. There is no led on and the phone doesn't charge and it quickly depletes the battery to 0%. I will be upgrading phones soon to the sony Xperia z5 but I would like to get all my information off of the One. I want to say the motherboard is fried but it can't be because the phone worked perfectly for the short but glorious 5% battery. Ive unplugged the battery from the board a few times as a reset but still nothing. PC does not recognize it as anything either, no sound and ADB devices command returns an empty list. Anybody got any ideas? Is there a "charging board" that i've heard rumored about on this forum regarding HTCs. Inside the phone looks fine, a little dusty but no burn marks lol.
Not rooted, S-on, and Locked bootloader. Its completely stock.

[Completed] Strange behavior of phone because of bad battery

Hello all
I dont know the right place to ask about my problem so I apologize in advance.
I own an Leeco Le X600 phone and up until next week it was working fine.
A new marshamallow came out and I updated it gtom lollipop without an issue.
This weekend everything changed.
I wanted to copy some pictures to my computer so I plugged the USB cable and nothing happened.
The phone vibrated but didnt recognize the usb connection nor the computer recognized the phone.
I decided to reboot the phone hoping that would fix the problem when I first encountered the problem
The phone would boot to the logo screen and then reboot again in a continuous loop.
I tried to get into recovery mode thinking that I would reinstall the firmware 15s but the logo would show Recovery but it would just reboot.
I finally figured out that plugging the USB cable to either the computer or charger the phone then reboots normally (in recovery too).
I have since done factory resets, reinstalls of the firmware with no change in behaviour.
The phone was unusually warm all the time and today I charged it to 100% and basically just let it sit unplugged without using it all day and the battery was empty in about 7 hours.
So its safe to say that the battery is busted.
I can order a replacement battery, they are not very expensive but my concern is that while that should fix the battery life would it fix the other problem with the USB connection and booting issue?
When the cable is plugged the phone vibrates which indicates to me that it recognizes it but it just goes into charging mode and doesnt give the options for data like I simply plugged into the charger.
I have tried different cables and different computers.
Anyone has seem anything similar and know if a battery replacement solved the issue?
