[Q] Voice Recognition Commands - General Questions and Answers

Hi guys,
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
I'm having a ball with the voice recognition on Android from google, it really is very impressive, however there is one command I desperately want and cannot find any information on it anywhere.
I dictate my message, and all is well. What do I then say to make it send the message?
It's great to be able to dictate, but to then have to press a button to make it send seems somewhat weird, surely there is a voice command to make it send, does anyone know what it is?
Many thanks!

Speech-to-Text- Voice Recognition

Is there any ppc software out there that can do this?
I would love to use this for texting and emails?
plenty
http://www.google.dk/search?hl=da&q=Speech-to-Text+pocketpc&btnG=Søg&meta=
There are services as well
Jott was the best known, but is now a pay service. You can get the voice to email/text message functionality from Dial2Do. I use it often when driving.

Thanks for the links...I'm also looking for SPEECH to text (not the reverse) solutions for WM...specifically like vlingo for Blackberry. Doesn't seem to be anything that competes with vlingo...anyone know of one?
Well I could not find one
so have put my email here http://www.vlingo.com/vlingo/vv_unsupported.jsp
for the vlingo version when its comes out
the more people to sign up the better
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that this Speech to Text conversion doesn't take place on the device, but rather the voice data is sent to a web server that decodes it and send back the text?
Is this true?

Yes. All the options till this date use a server for it as the database would be too big to be housed inside a smartphone.

Ive signed up tooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! Vlingo do something......hard to type sms on my omnia while driving!!!!!
I signed up too. Currently using Voice Command, but need this next step.
I this not the company that make the software you posted a video of http://www.nuance.com/nvc/ guess you could send them an email and get a trial.
Also the last post links to a cab that seems to do what but it is a 3 day trial
Sully
Vlingo
I too used Vlingo with my Blackberry during the painful months that I had to use the Curve. It is the only thing that I miss about that device, and I too have been looking for this software. Vlingo was very smooth, and it processed everything on the device itself. Telus offers a Voice Command service, but even their proprietary version takes much longer to convert than Vlingo did.

Perhaps Voice on the Go, I use it on my HD2 and it works well
Here's the link: http://consumer.voiceonthego.com/VOGOPortal/
Youd more than likely have to pay for a service like Voice To Go for something like that. It's just that there aren't any good enough programs out right now that can do this for you. Some have better luck than others, but it's all up to you. Look up Microsoft TellMe because it does have that feature, but try it yourself and see how it works for you. Beyond that I can't really suggest anything else.

[huawey u8150] [zip update] voice commands offline

I managed a fully working voice commands for my huawei ideos. Thanks goes to 89luca89 from androidiani.com his version of the zip doesn't work on every device due to the lack of gscript.
so here's my version, I think it should work an any froyo device, just flash it and try it.
http://senotones.blogspot.com/2011/02/voice-commands-offline-on-froyo.html
If I flash and I want to revert for whatever reason, do I need to revert to a backup image, reflash my rom or is there some other way to uninstall?
you should be able to remove it by deleting the VsuiteApp.apk and GScript.apk in /system/app well I'm not sure because I use it often and I don't need to remove it.
I can try later
Thanks, just want to gather up the basics before I do an article (here) on this as this sounds pretty good.
What would make it golden (other than not needing root etc) to me at least is if you could somehow map the thing to be triggered by the wired headset buttons of most/all phones/nexuses and/or bluetooth.
Guess I should test it out before I start making suggestions. Thanks man. I tossed it on my server for you, let me know if you want me to take it down or if you've got another version: mirror.batteryboss.org/signed-Voice.zip
That would be FANTASTIC !!! What about a short video on youtube to demo what you achieved ?
I can try to make an apk with bt trigger next week. this zip is a leak that 89luca89 get from motorola devices.
can you explain what this app does ? I am looking for a old fashion voice dialer (which records a voice tag for each contact and then dials that number).
I am sick of crappy google voice recognition which always gets it wrong.
bump.........
this allow you to use voice commands to recall some function.
for example, once you run it, it waits your input and if you say: "calls john" it try to call john if john has only one number, if john has mobile and home, voice commands ask you wich number you want to call.
You can say so "calls John mobile" or "call 03236548"
or you can invoice some app "run gmail" and it opens gmail
the voice recognition is pretty good, you can also teach voice command to recognize your own voice
gave you some press.. mobilitydigest.com/offline-voice-commanding-for-android
thanks man

Please post alternative link, as some of the area don't support.
thanks very much..but not work for me..
i flash it using ultrakiller recovery but fails flashing process due to gscript.apk problem..

@zicoxx can you tell exactly what's the error log?
nitro-ale, does this app works (recognise the command) even using a language other than English ?
I'm using it in italian
any way to get it to work like old cell phone voice dialing ? i.e. you save a voice name for a phone number and then it dials that number when you speak it in bluetooth.
I really hate android's voice recognition, that never gets to recognize my accented voice. not to mention that it requires data.
I really think it's a good app, it recognizes 80% of my portuguese language. But in order to recognise 100% we must enter "adaptation" menu and repeat sereral words and phrases. Here, i cannot pass the "say 237354483" (number not the same...lol). App says to repeat the numbers and then it says that time expired....sadly...anything that you could do?? Say, record same things in the computer and then export into the folder?
Seems strange I Will take a look sorry I have no time at all in these days

It's basically Samsung's answer to Apple's Siri. Though I don't think it is as advanced, but not really sure. I only messed around with it briefly on SkyICS.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S_Voice
Little comparison between the 2 - http://phandroid.com/2012/06/13/face-off-samsung-galaxy-s3s-s-voice-vs-iphone-4ss-siri-video/
Played around with it for a few minutes.
-Made a call
-Sent a text
-Set an alarm
All 3 without a single issue, voice recognition was great and I was mumbling quietly for the majority of commands including the actual text.
You can also use "Navigate to x" and "What is the weather".
If anyone find a comprehensive list of commands could you please post a link?
Thank you

i have used command's like "How is weather today?" "Where can I get pizza or gas?" "How does my day look?" and I got right answers.
The only issue I had was with Voice command integration. I have a Blueant Q2 and "Phone Command" should automatically invoke S-Voice. 8 out of 10 times it did not work and that's probably because it has not been properly integrated in S2. I am sure it works well in S3.

[Q] Voice respond app

So I have been searching for hours trying to find a app that basically does the following.
When I receive a text message I would like for my phone to speak "you have a new text message from ...contact name... Would you like to hear the message?"
Then I could say yes or no depending on the location and the contact the message was from. Then be able to respond or not.
I have seen many apps that can read texts and respond with no problem but sadly none ask before reading the entire message.
Surely I can't be the only one that would like this functionality on their nexus 5.

I'm surprised that AVX and utter! don't have that functionality.
Thanks actually AVX can do it it's just not very easy to figure out the settings to set it up. Still sounds very crude and old school but it works.
