Simple Question, need a clear answer - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Hello All vzw users
i have a verizon HTC ONE M8
IS IT POSSIBLE TO RUN THE REGULAR ROM WHICH CAM ON THE HTC ONE M8 (that you buy from htc not any carrier ) ON VERIZON HTC ONE M8
I know everything bout rooting, unlocking , s-off , super CID and most steps
just need a clear answer and if if any on succeeded on it yet or no and i mean Stock original HTC ONE M8 , no customs or any other
thx

I'm imagining the international version is what you're wanting?

I'm not sure why you would want to.. therefore I doubt anyone has ported it to the VZW M8. So unless you do that yourself, I'm guessing the answer is no.
If you want a stock rom without the VZW bloat, CleanRom would make the most sense (hehe). This is Cleanrom. Its pretty much stock Sense 6. As stated in the OP of the CleanRom thread,
Extreme Debloat: All Verizon and Amazon bloat is gone except Visual Voicemail

Although if the reason you want this is to use the phone on other carriers, you need to unlock it (not root/bootloader unlock) which is still illegal, although the bill is well on it's way (should be legal to do again soon).

I don't like all Verizon apps and setting
And I don't like to use custom roms
Plus Verizon comes SIM unlocked for worldwide use so I don't have a problem with that

Most of the Verizon apps removed. Also other crap you don't want and use.
You need to root and s-off to run ANYTHING other than the stock firmware the phone came with.

Thats great berndblb
Thanks

Yes he is all for it. Now they need to put an end to bootloader locking yeah VERIZON you heard me STOP locking our bootloaders, at&t, sprint & tmobile all allow htc dev to unlock their bootloaders, VERIZON stop being such pricks and allow htc dev bootloader unlocking. Then next step pass legislation requiring all new cellular phones to be capable of working all bands for any carrier so any phone can be used on any USA network and have full data band usage.

I'd still recommend calling T-Mobile or even going into one of their stores nearby. They will help you troubleshoot and may just confirm that you need a new sim card. I had this issue and needed a new sim card when converting from my Nexus One to my MyTouch 4G for some reason so it is a possibility.

Well I went to the store put in the sim card and nothing happened, I wonder if maybe the previous owner messed the phone up trying to unlock it and if he did I don't know if it can be fixed.
Bummer, $350.00 right on jeopardy.
I turn it off and will give it 10mins hopefully it works now.
Fingers cross and drum droll going on!
Id call that dude back up and get my money back if a Tmobile store couldnt connect it either. Didnt you see it work in person before handing the guy money?
Matt
It's not working and says no data, I didn't try it because there was no sim card available then.
So I ask is there a possibility that by unlocking the phone it maybe damaged?
you didn't test the phone before paying the guy? you might of purchased a stolen phone try doing the super cid and installing a usa based rom like beast rom or stock tmo rom the other rom might have the apn messed up....install the latest tmo usa radio

Start fresh and install the latest T mobile US ruu, then install the 2.3.4 OTA update, that should get you going. Sounds like there's a setting, radio, and or RIL that is incorrect. I am assuming you checked the apn settings.

Right now I am at the Stryper concert at HOB, when I get home I will try the RUU.
Don't think it's a bad APN because I did a full wipe in recovery and reinstalled the coredroid latest ROM and still can't get service.
Also the tech support at T-Mo check if the phone was blacklisted and no it wasn't so that's good.
It should work on their network.
Which radio are you using? Menu>settings>about phone also is it a T-Mobile branded phone or EU version ?

Definitely try flashing the RUU for T Mous, I have read a number of posts in the development section about it. From what I've read some key software components may not be flashing properly or something to that affect so some recommend flashing the Official RUU and then flashing the custom ROM when a problem such as yours presents itself.
Enjoy the concert.
Report back how it goes.

And it recognizes the phone and it says it is on version 1.45.531.1 then I press the Update buttom to update the current ROM and then the RUU says it will update the phone to 1.29.531.2 and I click nextthe the RUU says it's checking then waiting for boot loader then the phone goes to a screes that is black and says in the center htc and stays there with no progress and the RUU then gives me an error # 171 USB Connection ERROR.
Am I missing something here? Maybe it's the USB driver for the Sensation that is wrong?
Thanks for all the support

Downgrade HTC One X?

Does anyone know a method of downgrading the HTC One X to 1.85? I looked around hoping for an answer but nothing. Then I thought to myself (after having to download an ruu for my old vivid countless times) that I could just download the 1.85 RUU for the One X and run that. Unfortunatly that had failed. I'm wanting to root my One X but with it being 2.20, root capabilities have been eliminated. So, does anyone have a way of downgrading the phone? Results or not, Thanks.

i just got out of an IRC chat with mike1986 (the creator of the rom you would be running if you have a tegra phone) and he said that nobody has this one xL phone. it's just us guys. the rest of the world got the quad core tegra that is unlocked to begin with. we would have to be lucky that of the few one xL users, one of them has the competency to hack the new OTA.. and i asked beaups if he could do it, and he hasn't found a way yet (he hacked the 1.85)
Hmm...that does sound kind of depressing. I'm kind of wondering if there is still anything we can do if we have unlocked bootloaders but no root. I really want to know more about how exploits are found and how the other hacks were discovered.
If you're bootloader is unlocked then you're ok. You can always push root via recovery.

Did you have to install the boot.img separately?
No. I started with a relocked bootloader. I unlocked the bootloader again with my unlock token, flashed the twrp img using fastboot and then just flashed the odexed stock rooted updated rom. Worked like a charm.
Ok thanks.
They put the system update on me before I left the store and I didn't notice until it was too late. I tried to exchange and they wouldn't do it, not even for a re-stocking fee. Hopefully I can find a store that will be more cooperative.

Many threads on this process but in order to downgrade hboot you need either s off or you need to use jet tool to downgrade. S off is alot easier process and there is a thread with step by step, if your hboot was recently updated ota it can't be downgraded at this time

People say you can unlock bootloader without being rooted.
But all unlocking how to, state that phone must be rooted.

Not entirely true. You need to be rooted on AT&T, since BL unlock is not officially offered for us and we need to change the SuperCID.
Not sure if this is the case with SingTel. Most carriers are allowed to unlock their BL officially. If HTC offers the bootloader unlock for that carrier CID, you do not need root. And root is easily achieved after BL unlock (just install a custom recovery and flash SU).

Sorry. Unfamiliar with other carriers. Plus, I never saw the One X in the list on the dev site at all. Has it changed? Or, are you saying that some carriers don't lock the bootloader at all? I wonder why AT&T even cares about locking it down.
If your phone is NOT on AT&T, you can unlock the bootloader with HTCDev.com
That means you do NOT i repeat NOT need root.

Where is your info coming from that the phone isnt a S4??
To add facts:
Singtel previously offers both: HTC one X and HTC one XL (LTE).
Now, I think Singtel only offers One XL.

According to this it should work on GSM (voice, SMS, EDGE data) as well as HSPA (3G) data. Based on the link, Israel uses 850 and 1900 MHz for 3G, both bands are compatible with the AT&T One X.
But as area51avenger suggests, verify with your carrier that these are in fact the 3G bands which they use.
As long as the band compatibility is correct, and the phone is SIM unlocked, it will work.
