I doubt he wants AT&T in Israel.

According to this it should work on GSM (voice, SMS, EDGE data) as well as HSPA (3G) data. Based on the link, Israel uses 850 and 1900 MHz for 3G, both bands are compatible with the AT&T One X.
But as area51avenger suggests, verify with your carrier that these are in fact the 3G bands which they use.
As long as the band compatibility is correct, and the phone is SIM unlocked, it will work.

I have a at&t one x I bought last night that is unlocked and I am using on telus. The phone isn't rooted and is running on android 4.0.3 and HTC sence 4.0 When I try to update it nothing happens. My brother has the same phone thro telus and has received updates for jb and HTC sence. I have went to settings about phone at&t updates but when I search it does not do nothing. Can anyone help me out with this? Will I have to root the phone, and if so does anyone got any tips to a easy safe root as I am new to this. If anyone has any ideas for me or could point ne in the right direction that would be great

Just download the ruu and run it. It will update.
You can get it from this forum or at&t's site or HTCs site

This has nothing to do with the OP of this thread. Start a new thread (or find one that is relevant - there is already a thread about updating the AT&T One X outside the US) instead of hijacking somebody else's thread.

Keep in mind if the person RUUs to 3.18, they will not be able to root with any current methods. If they want to root, they need to do it before updating to JB. For details: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2181929

He did start a new thread after posting here but I had already answered here. He didn't mention anything about root/unlocking so I assumed he wanted to stay stock.

Wrong section.
I also have the Telus variant of the HOX and would love to see a root come out for 1.91. If any devs see this, I would be more than willing to help in any way.

New One X owner, best root method currently?

Hi guys, I know there are a lot of posts surrounding this topic, I did search but found many outdated methods so I am curious about the most up to date method.
I am using a one X that is one HTC SDK 4.11 build number 1.85 and software 1.85
Being an iphone jailbrake guy Im not sure which one matters most. Also, Im not sure about changing the bootloader as opposed to just rooting. If I change the bootlaoder am i essentialy unocking the carrier of the phone also?
So what is the currently method to rooting the One X, thank you so much, this is a very helpful forum.
Duck
Either the manual method or the 1.85 One Click by Beups and designgears
I'd imagine the STICKIED thread in development would be your best bet. You know, the one that says it's for 1.85.

Ahh sorry, didnt get to that forum yet, thanks! Question though, is the exploit for bootloader still up and running or should I just stick with rooting for now?

Hi guys,
Ok, being new cant post in the devs forum yet so have to post this follow-up here. So I wasn't paying attention and accidentally updated before reading the news about 2.20 here. I know I cant root now however here is my question:
If I exchange One X for replacement tomorrow that is on 1.85 is it still going to work as long as i avoid any OTA updates OR will it require an update during the process like ive read. I think Ive read that it can be interrupted but am not sure.
Thank You

As long as the phone is on 1.85 you can still use the method to gain root and unlock the bootloader.

You could try running ruu from website but it will lock your bootloader. Or you could just flash one from the inspire dev thread. There are a few different ones with this base.

They also have a link to download it on the AT&T Inspire support forum. It may break the root on your phone though and there are problems with the update on rooted phones in other posts on XDA. I would just look at another ROM that has whatever improvements you want. I updated my stock Inspire and I am not overwhelmed with the upgrade. I will be looking at rooting and a different ROM for mine this weekend. I can not post the AT&T link, not enough posts yet, but as I said, I would not advise you to upgrade the result is marginal at best and has slowed my Inspire and reduced the call volume.

Thanks to ALL!
I have updated by manual method even before I read your post and took a chance. Rightly said by you It has marginal improvement. More over my RAM is almost full. Speed got reduced. Even though these are my first impressions I hope they may subside in future.
Can you guide me how to release my RAM memory. Most of times it is 500 full and 100 free. If problem persists can we roll back to our previous version of HTC sense. If it is possible please let me know.

Root 2.20

I'm still a noob when it comes to the HTC one x. Is there a root exploit that I have missed for 2.20 possibly or is it like the bootloader, still waiting on the release from HTC?

There's about a thousand threads already on this subject. Search function is your friend.
And no, no root for 2.2 has been made available........ yet.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe we're still out of luck on that. Unless you updated to 2.20 from 1.85 with superCID. Thats the only work around to my knowledge.
Doesnt HTC have to let us root within 90-120 days from release?
---------- Post added at 01:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:27 PM ----------
Ahulab- yes you are correct there or if you were previously unlocked(supercid hand in hand obviously) you could unlock using your original token instead of having to regenerate another

[Q] NEW!

Hello everyone I just got my htc one x plus a few days ago. switching from the iphone 5. basically my question is and im sure everyone has seen this, is can i root my AT&T htc one x plus? can i do it with Windows 8? and what is the best way of doing this? thanks again everybody!
Two things
For rooting the one x plus just go to HTC dev. Com and unlock your bootloader flash a recovery than root or a Rom you have to flash boot img BUT you're in the wrong forum this is the regular one x forum

Before you go all crazy and root and unlock your bootloader, take a second to ask yourself "Do I know what having root does?" "What is a bootloader?" I'm still relatively new so I was in your spot a couple of months ago, but please take the time to read. If you are ready to flash a ROM make sure you got it from AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL forum, because even though the name is the same, the phones run differently, and flashing a wrong ROM, lets just say don't do it. (COUGH). Just be careful.
