You could try running ruu from website but it will lock your bootloader. Or you could just flash one from the inspire dev thread. There are a few different ones with this base.

They also have a link to download it on the AT&T Inspire support forum. It may break the root on your phone though and there are problems with the update on rooted phones in other posts on XDA. I would just look at another ROM that has whatever improvements you want. I updated my stock Inspire and I am not overwhelmed with the upgrade. I will be looking at rooting and a different ROM for mine this weekend. I can not post the AT&T link, not enough posts yet, but as I said, I would not advise you to upgrade the result is marginal at best and has slowed my Inspire and reduced the call volume.

Thanks to ALL!
I have updated by manual method even before I read your post and took a chance. Rightly said by you It has marginal improvement. More over my RAM is almost full. Speed got reduced. Even though these are my first impressions I hope they may subside in future.
Can you guide me how to release my RAM memory. Most of times it is 500 full and 100 free. If problem persists can we roll back to our previous version of HTC sense. If it is possible please let me know.

Hey all,
Before making this thread, I DID search, maybe not closely enough...
Anyways, just wondering if anyone has heard of when Bell/Virgin Mobile will be getting the 2.3.4 OTA for the Sensation? It seems like every carrier except Bell has been given this update.
They seemed pretty quick with 2.33? I'd imagine we wouldn't take much longer. How would you update if you're on Telus; do you still get the Bell OTAs by virtue of using a bell phone?

What the hell is taking them so long?
I received the ota update last week....
just check for updates..
Nothing yet
Still on stock rom, BTW what rom are you guys using in Toronto with rogers, any recommendations?
Thanks
I'm with Bell on stock 2.33 and I'm puzzled at the lack of the update too. They came out pretty quick with the last OTA and aren't we already on 2.35 or so?
For the way they're constantly advertising this phone, I'd expected more timely updates at least for now.
Checked today and still nothing

Post the file .zip
If someone already has the update, please post it, find the file in the folder called download in the memory card, should be called OTA_Pyramid_etc etc. ..

The best advice you can get is probably this: wait a little longer for OFFICIAL ICS which will be pushed via the update. Since it will be official, and via the update, it will be delivered ready to go straight from HTC.
Beware: if you start delving into these forums just to get ICS, you are in for a ride of your life. If you are not into this kind of "fun", i would recommend just waiting for official, which is just hours/days away.

Not at all. It's pretty easy:
S-Off/Root
Flash new Firmware
Flash New Rom
Each step has detailed guides and can be accomplished in 20 to 25 minutes each - the firmware only taking 3 minutes. Just make sure you follow directions, carefully. As in, really, very carefully. If you're unsure of something, don't do it.
That's reach, guys......
So many replies and none specific.... Why to bother answering at all???
To get ICS OTA you need to be stock. S-off does not matter, root also.
Has to have a stock recovery and 1.50.401.1 for original or 1.73.401.4 for XE.
Although, if you want to install custom ICS, you have to read Dev section for specific requirements of the ROM of your choice....I read a lot good reviews for almost all of the ICS ROMS.
And here is something to keep in mind:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23427200&postcount=1
Otherwise EddyOS will be really upset...LOL
Have to find a RUU for your particular phone and flush it to bring everything back to original condition (will be un-rooted, but S-off will remain).
Good luck!!!
Keep in mind eddy won't help you if you get stuck he will tell you search or use google lol

Bottom line, you can't update to ICS unless someone follows some steps on the forum to either A: Return the RUU to stock or B: Flashes an ICS Rom for you.
He sounds like a smart guy, too bad it didn't workout.
You may have someone in a circle of friends that's familiar with rooting etc. Hit them up to do the labor.

I have a question... my phone is stock the RUU as you've called it is from HTC. I downloaded an app "CID Getter" from Play/Market and it tells me my ROM is 1.45.401.2 which if I'm correct is official. My CID is orang001 then as i scroll down it says main CID HTC_001 so why has this not updated to 1.50.401.1 for example?

Add a few more nevers in there as a precautionary measure.
I know you get it now, but just to be clear to anyone who finds this thread in the future this is not something you can experiment with then go back if it doesn't work.
If you flash the radio of another device, or the firmware of another device, you will have an absolutely unrecoverable brick situation. You won't be able to flash the correct radio / firmware because you won't even be able to get into your HBoot by pressing power - volume up. You won't be able to use ADB to put the right versions on because the device will be completely powered down and your computer won't recognize that it's even there via the USB cable.
The device will be dead.
The phone literally has a better chance of survival / repairability if you smash it with a hammer.
Ok I wasn't clear enough, english is not my native language too, maybe I wrote not in a right topic, but I assure you guys that I was not so stupid to just flash HTC Amaze software right to my Senasation. lol
But what I mean was : There is HTC Amaze Camera Mod already fo Sensation GB, many users are waiting for HTC Amaze Camera Mod for Sensation ICS. There's was no hope for this mod until ICS for Amaze came out, but we still need that kernel source was released ?
Please forgive me if this has been asked but I have looked extensively but have not found a definitive answer (maybe I overlooked something or just did not quite comprehend). I know attn1 warned against downgrading DHD/Inspire 4G if it came shipped with GB (for using AAHK). However, when I got my Inspire 4G it originally had Froyo and was updated to GB via RUU from HTC website. My phone is currently rooted and S-Off which I did after the HTC update to GB. Can I run a HTC Froyo RUU safely and do I need to downgrade HBOOT first then flash? If it is possible, where can I get the stock RUU for the Inspire 4G with the H+ update? I have not found anything on the HTC website and what I have found elsewhere was for the DHD. Once again, if this has been answered I apologize in advance and would only ask for a point in the right direction (obviously Google only got me so far).

There is no ruu for that version. Just the original froyo ruu. The first update was just a small OTA. You are safe to downgrade though and don't need to change your hboot. It's only gb shipped phones that will have issues. If you want froyo with the ota you will have to do some heavy searching.

Thanks for the information. I was not sure if I was interpreting what I was reading correctly or not regarding downgrading. I figured finding the OTA update would be a big issue. Perhaps I will forestall downgrading after all since I was counting on data speed to some extent. I was actually planning to test something with froyo and it is the only reason why I was entertaining this whole idea at all.

Go to http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Ace
It should be the first "PD98IMG" link. The official ATT ROMs are labled ATT or Cingular. The rest are for DesireHD. That PD98IMG I mentioned was the first update after the original shipped Inspire.
I am trying to put a custom rom on my fiances T-Mobile HTC Sensation. Do all roms work on all carriers phones? My phone is a Galaxy S3 and I know if I put a rom from another carrier on it I will brick it.
Side question, will a custom rom fix the slow touch screen response from the sensation? She cant even answer calls because it appears to be so unresponsive when waking from lock.
Yes, all ROMs from this forum works on the HTC sensation/sensation 4g/sensation XE no matter what carrier you have. You need to unlock the bootloader first or s-off the device before installing custom ROMs.
Here's info/directions on s-off: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26280760
I can't remember the link to rooting your device, but there's hundreds of articles on the internet on how to flash roms/root and that good stuff.
After you obtain root, I suggest this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37121632
It's based on android 4.2.2 and it's crazy smooth and responsive. Just make sure you read the link carefully and follow all the instructions.
Never ever flash a ROM for a different phone than what the ROM lists (ie. Don't flash a SGSIII ROM on a sensation. It will probably hard brick the phone)
