Hey ..
So I damaged the golden pins, and now my OPO is as good as an iPod touch
it can't read any SIM I insert.. a received the phone 4 days ago, i live in Saudi Arabia.
any hope of fixing it ? where can i find the OPO 64GB SIM tray ? replacement? anything :"(
Thanks
I think your only hope is to send it OnePlus to repair. How on earth did you manage to damage the pins?

Bet you used an adapter didn't you? That's the only way I think you might have damaged it.
This is embarrassing.
I was trying to take the back cover off.
I am not a smart man :|
Oh that's a real bummer. You might be able to get your hands on a SIM module and replace it, otherwise you'll have to send it to OnePlus.

after researching i think we damaged the motherboard from doing this... but i cant find any replacement parts anywhere can anyone help us find replacement parts for the oneplus one?
Getting replacement parts for this phone right now is going to be virtually impossible. Your only real hope is to buy one with a damaged screen or something from eBay, and switch the main board over.

This is frustrating..
I searched everywhere.
I contacted them about the problem but no answer :\
How about we send them a ticket that says:
"send us the SIM reader if you are not going to fix our phones"
Or the intire motherboard :\
I highly doubt they'd send parts to you. You basically have three options: send to OnePlus to repair, find one that's been dropped and swap the board, or use it as a WiFi device.

Well what? That isn't blaming OnePlus for what happened to his phone. That's expressing frustration that he can't get parts for the device, and frustration that OnePlus have a sub-standard customer relations system. If you read the whole thread he clearly admits fault for what happened to his device.

fixing questions
Okay, would I have to replace ENTIRE motherboard for just the SIM slot pins? Is it worth waiting for OPO replacement parts becoming available and popular over time? Where can I find a good cheap "broken" OPO for the motherboard or whatever and is it worth sending it to oneplus all the way in China how much will repairs cost since it really IS my fault for being a retard and isn't covered by warranty? Also any other place I could send it other than one plus?
Why don't you just take the phone to a normal local mobile phone repair shop, where they can take it apart and evaluate the damage. If you have just broken the SIM pins, I'm sure they can replace those with some universal parts or leftovers from other phones.

I already did this, they said they can't replace it with anthor phon's SIM reader. So i have to get my hands on OPO's SIM reader, other wise it won't work.

Ugh this sucks but we should really help each other out by figuring this out together bro. it would help if oneolus one spare parts were readily available, its as if one plus had a monopoly on repairing this phone right now
Not sure how you guys may think there will be repair parts when there are barely enough phones for the people that want them. I believe your options are truly what were listed previously. It will be a while before there are spare anything for 1+1 I believe. Sorry to hear about your issues but it is what it is for right now

So I just got back from the tmobile store, after sending in my g1 I bricked attempting to install the danger spl, claiming I had no idea what happened. Then I received a call from the person at the store that was helping me informing me that HTC would do a 'check' to see if it had been rooted, and fine me $400 if they discovered any unofficial roms on it. I told this man nothing.
Is this bs, or what?!
Either security has been upped in the recent past, and I'm going to have to pay $400, or he just tells that to everyone to scare them, I have no clue.
Any additional information would be appreciated very much.
TC,
No worries mate. It's BS, he's just looking to spook you, or he/she is a complete idiot of a rep. They can't fine you for it. You own the phone, not them (unless you're on some sort of a lease agreement contract I'm not aware of).
The most they'd do is just return the phone to you or something.
Cheers.

By not following directions, mostly.
Mine was taken by haykuro's death bringer.

This person called me back, and claims that HTC can and will check every phone sent in for unofficial roms. I'm not sure what gave me away, but he said if I rooted my phone, then do NOT send it in, because they will not replace it, and I will need to pay $400 for a new g1. He says he knows this from experience.
I'm rather frightened now, but would much rather trust you guys. So, encouragement pl0x?

TC,
This changes things. You see, when you said a 400 USD fine...that's BS....but...you should have the option to keep your bricked G1 (assuming they can't fix it). They can't keep it and not return it you. After that point, it's really your choice if you want to buy a new one or not.

Do you have 'Accident' insurance?
Yes, they can tell if you rooted it, or flashed it with an unofficial ROM. By doing that, you invalidated your warranty so if they really DO check it, they are pretty unlikely to repair it for free, hence the $400.

It's only bricked to you, not to them. It's more likely they'd just reflash the ROM and not bother to check, but what with Google's recent actions on trying to stop custom Android ROMs containing their closed source software, they MIGHT be pressuring HTC to check for custom ROMs as well...
It's your choice whether you want to take the chance or not. The worst that can happen is that they won't honour the warranty and either send the device back to you, or require you to pay for the repair.
Good luck for you and take easy.

LMFAO! That guy needs to get his ass kicked! You can turn your device in a custom ROM server and the only thing they can do is return it to you without repairing it. Nothing more. Ha! What ...... .... that rep must be. ........ ... ...... ..... haha!
If they catch you with a custom ROM, you would have to pay for the repair yourself, but that is normal. I never, NEVER, go to official repair shops. I just go to any repair centre and pay the price for the repair. Saves me a lot of nerves lol.

It's not difficult, but you can't do it from home because it requires dedicated hardware to connect directly to the phone's main board.
How do you think they flash these things in the first place, hmm? They sure as hell don't run the same type of flashing process that we do!
I have been waiting for a me batch to do a replacement, so I called today and asked for a new batch replacement. He told me that they were sold out but I could get a new unit, everything included like the battery and box for a replacement from the manufacturer. He put in the order and it was already shipped by ups with tracking numbers. Also I have two replacements coming, so this is exciting. The rep did say that yes there were problems with the current batch and that a new one was coming,i just got lucky because I specifically asked for a new batch. Hope this helps clear up some questions. I will update once I get them to see if they are better.

I'm not sure which one to go with anymore. A fixed G2x with no lcd bleed sounds pretty enticing, but then there's the Sensation with the possibility of root on day one.. and Kal-El is on the way this winter. Android just isn't slowing down, lol.
sensation having root on day one is possible but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you
Highly doubt this! I'm not doubting that you were told this but doubting the fact you'll get a phone from a new batch. I spoke to MANY T-mobile employees over the phone when asking for a replacement and I even asked for a new one from a new batch and they told me that unfortunately I get whatever is in the warehouse and there was no way to ensure this or specify what I'd like...
I understand that what the rep told me might or might not be true. But it sounded like t-mobile put the order through lg. T-mobile them selves do not have any phones,i am aware of that, but the processing was fast and I already have a tracking number. I am hopeful but not foolish. I will let u guys know as soon as it comes what the date on it is. The rep said that it will be a new phone not a refurbished one. is there any other way of knowing how the device would be from a new batch?

Same here. One even told me there was no way to get a refurbished one since it hasn't been out that long. I told her that was a complete lie and that I know of other people who got re-ferbs. Seems like every time I get told a lie or someone tries to roll my loyalty plan into a new plan it is by a female. No I just hang up and keep calling back until I get someone who sounds like myself. Seriously, I am really not trying to be a bigot, racist or sexist. I have encountered a couple females that knew what they were talking about and I didn't mean to lump all of the females in the same boat. What I really meant to say would come off racist but here goes anyway. As soon as I here a voice from a female that sounds like she's straight out of the ghetto I will hang up and call back. If the person sounds educated I will remain on the line and give them a chance.

Sorry, but you must not have looked very closely on their site. I went directly to lg.com, saw a link that said support (on the left), clicked on that, and saw a link for mobile phone support, clicked on that, and there are options for live chat, email or telephone support, all on the page. That took me about 5 seconds. Here is the link:

I thought I killed my G2x Tuesday and ordered a replacement. It was a refurb I guess (in a white box). It had really bad screen bleed so I just mailed it back.

I was at the gym yesterday and apparently I might have left it there by mistake, I went to the htc sense site to track it down but apparently they 'renovated it' and now you can't track it! Is there any way I can track it down after its lost (or stolen I guess)?
I downloaded Plan B but apparently it didn't install correctly or something because I didnt get any email yet (probably since there isn't any wifi where the phone is)
Quite a stupid move from htc to shut down such a good feature like that :/
Sorry for your loss, that really sucks dude. HTC did warn people they were going to remove that feature a couple of months ago. I rather liked it as well. The only other thing I can think of right now is, try having your service provider track it down using the phones gps. Sometimes it works. Good luck.

You left it somewhere, someone picked it up, YOUR FAULT! It's not stolen and whoever has it would not be prosecuted for picking it up. Maybe you should pay more attention to your $500 piece of technical equipment. Only a truly entitled person would believe that the police should take time away from investigating murders, kidnappings, and assaults, to find their phone. Is your phone that important? Is this what you are telling us?

Wouldn't the phone just be locked out? I'm also curious... if it was used in a different country/provider, would it work? I would assume it'd work since the chances of your provider blocking the IMEI in the entire earth would be unlikely! If so, the answers seem pretty straightforward as to what will happen lol. Either it'll get sold or just not be usable!

Nono HTC told me they will block the phone themselves, so apparently it should be unusable worldwide I hope!
If it is in the wrong hands then it has probably been torn down and used for parts at this point. It's become a growing trend around here with lots of aftermarket repair companies getting busted for being nothing more than chop shops...
Well, here's what they said after giving them my IMEI number
"Dear sir again, we are really sorry for what happened with your device and we apologize for the inconvenience regarding HTCSense functionality. We will enter your data in our system, and we will list your device as stolen one. As soon as somebody tries to contact us with this data we will notify the authorities.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. "

I'd like to know your verdict on my latest purchase, and the likelihood of it being a feasible repair; I only want this thing for the stunning camera:
My buy ---> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161221466291?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Many thanks guys and girls - your expertise is appreciated a lot
Matt.
There's no way of telling what is working and what isn't on that device. I personally wouldn't buy it but that's just me.

I agree, based on the auction description there is no way of having any idea why its broken or what it will take to get it working. You can end up spending more money to fix it, than if you had just bought a working one.

The owner is extremely courteous and has told me that it has a few "bubbles" on the screen (likely a cheapo digitiser/lcd set), and that it just won't turn on. It's not a King's ransom - £38 - so I just took a punt. I can recover that outlay as a last resort, if it is totally beyond repair. If nothing else, it's another feather in my cap of repair expertise
Sounds like you'd already made up your mind then.

good morning, friends, I'm in trouble, my phone is in negative band, buy it on Ebay, and now I can not contact the seller, a typical scam, meeting in public place, I showed the phone, worked well, and went fast, the phone had no information, no sim card, nothing to return to the original owner, my inteciones were. To find out which company could see belonged to an operator who told me he was denounced, and its owner was reinstated with a new phone ...
Our justice system sucks. (Pardon the word)
From my side ... The phone already paid, now I have a nice shaped tablet Samsung 915G
The money was stolen from me ... The thing is that now I would like to use it, you install an original firmware, android 6.0.1 but still logically negative band.
there any way to change the imei? or remove negative band?
Look many guides, but was help me any odds.
From already thank you very much to all, I really like the forum and I think visit daily.

OK, now that you have done that, I want you to download the app at the link in the end of this post. Read the app description for directions. MAKE SURE YOU ENABLE IT IN XPOSED FIRST! The best of luck to you. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vivek.imeichanger

sir, but that will not help solve the problem of having no signal , if I remember correctly that's a " mask " , just change the numbers but the phone is still on the black list
Correct me if it is not.
Thnx

Sooo.... Basically what you're saying and getting at then is... YOU WANT A FREE WAY TO DO THIS??? Not going to happen unless you buy the equipment and software to repair blacklisted IMEI's, otherwise you're outta luck, so buy a prepaid credit card load $35 bucks on it and use it to fix your problem, or sell the phone and pay more to get one that isn't blacklisted, but a bigger more curious question is how did ya use eBay and PayPal without a credit or debit card, gift card, your fault and loss then cause you could've disputed the seller and reported it eBay and gotten a full or partial refund and keep the phone and get it reloaded on your card and used that money to pay for the imei repair?
TL;DR No there is any magic flash this software hacks that will fix this, these sellers do it by services and software like the octopus box and so on, which are A LOT MORE Expensive than $35.

Ebay did not take over , as concrete so that the payment was made in cash. Maybe get a credit card from someone who can afford it and I could use the service, thank you very much , and I see at the moment is the only solution possible.

You could still dispute the case, even if paid in cash, if ya left positive feedback it may be too late though then.
