Disabling LTE - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I'd like to disable LTE while I'm at work because we don't get reception for it here. It then believe it kills the battery because it's constantly trying to find a signal and flips from 4g to 3g, etc.
I'm running CleanROM 8.2, which is Android 4.3. I've seen other posts that say use Phone Info, but the app crashes. I've also seen to dial a special number, but that number doesn't do anything.
Is there an easy way to disable 4g LTE with later versions of Android?
Thanks!

What's to prevent you from just disabling mobile data altogether?

You should still be able to receive calls and texts because I do that all the time on my phone and those things still work. If it does't then I don't know what to tell you.

If you disable data you can't receive texts, being on wifi enables Internet access but not texts or phone calls when data is shut off

Uhm, I don't think that's the case. Mobile data is solely Internet and multimedia messages. Phone calls and texts still work without data.

Yes call verizon yell at them.
Messaging app on my phone is completely dead. I have tried everything under the sun to get it back up and running.
Problem is now solved after calling Verizon. They had to refresh the SIM card and now everything works great.
Thanks

Wifi calling for ATT?

Just recently moved and I have no service with T Mobile so I might be switching to ATT. Is there any ROMs or a way to make wifi calls with ATT without using Skype or another app?

Why don't you wanna use an external app? Wouldn't that save a bunch of time?

You can also get a microcell, they are a life saver in low signal areas. Sometimes you can get at&t to comp you one to get you to sign up.

Doesn't the other person have to have the same app in order to use it? That's what it seems like anyways but I could be wrong

Google voice doesn't support wifi only calling. SMS texts yes.
ATT Galaxy SkyRocket CM9 stable..sent using XDA premium
Setup google voice and use an app called GrooveIP (http://goo.gl/zDVm8).
That's what I use when I'm outside the coutry to call fro free.
You can receive calls and make calls with just wifi (even hotel room). It's one of the best app I found
if you flash cm/aokp you should be able to use "internet calling" aka sip. There are a few other sip based apps out there that will let you make calls but not with the normal dialer.

I have a microcell as well. I am running Embyro 5.3 with the UCLF6 baseband and the 3.0.42 Cymbaline- RD04-2.7 kernel. I think the microcell is $20 a month for unlimited phone calls. It's running at 3G. I got it before I* switched to cable for my internet access. Works like a charm and I never get close to using up my data plan. I usually run about a 7400 on the AnTuTu benchmark also.

There are a couple "plans" for the microcell. One is free and uses your existing plan's minutes. The other is the one you mentioned. And it is only 3G, but 4.5mbps is still decent just for a phone.

Yes, but they now use Ringto, another free voip provider, which works just about as well as Google Voice.

Does 4GLTE have any effects on call/text services?

Obviously it can give us great data speed. Was wondering if we were on LTE like does it help call quality/service?

I believe eventually LTE will be used to transmit calls over data but as of now, No, I don't think so.
I think calls and text are still over Cellular (1x), thats why MMS still go slow I think, but they're working on VoIP. I think it's a matter of time.
Thank you for the responses, appreciate it The more I learn about this phone stuff the better.

Hangouts app

Is anyone else having trouble with this app? It was working well for a little bit but now it someone sends me a message I won't receive it till like the next day. I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem.

No problems on my end. It's my primary way of messaging people.

Hmm. Like it'll show me when the other person has seen the message, so I'll be expecting a reply back and it will show them typing and I'll get the message, but other times I won't receive the message for a while, or I have to sign out and then sign back in and it'll be there

I'm using hangouts as my primary and the same thing happens to me. I believe that it may have something to do with my extreme fluctuations in signal type/strength. I go from 4G to edge on a consistent basis b/c I work on a cell restricted location.
I use Hangouts as my primary communication method with my work and I've not had any issues with delayed or undelivered messages on this phone yet. I am on wifi for a majority of the day, but I get my messages when I'm away from wifi as well. I am in an area with pretty strong 4G signal, so perhaps arich2day is correct about there being an issue with jumping from no signal to good signal.
Well, most of the time I'm on Wifi and it still doesn't work right

Since it's a system app I actually haven't tried uninstalling it completely with Titanium Backup or anything. Maybe I'll give that a try

Same issue.... I posted in the pacman rom section. I was in the middle of a convo when texts started to slow down, now not getting any at all, can't send, nothing. Tried setting my limit to 500, unfroze stock app (does it with it also), I'm just lost.

PACman 11/2
Kt747 kernel 10/28 (I think that's the lastest, if not I am on the latest unless one was released since this morning)
If you need more info or have an idea, quote me or @ me. Thanks!
~~~EDIT~~~
I just checked, I receive texts fine, sending is another story.
Messaging is usually tied into framework, reflashing the rom would most likely solve the problem but might not make it work properly. Using a touchwiz messaging app would probably fix it because it uses a stock framework for the app, but I'm assuming you want to stay on AOSP.
I would post that question in the pacman thread and see if anyone running that rom has any better suggestions.
If you're having call issues too that's different, could be bad efs data, but I'm not really an AOSP guy so it's hard for me to pinpoint exactly what's going on. Could be rom related or not, so it's better to scour those forums to see if you can find an answer.
