Hi all,
I tried to install DlnaService.apk from Acer Liquid. All went fine but the moment I tried to share content with my Plasma Samsung 8, even if it recognized my Nexus, it wasn't able to share content.
Anyone had a similar experience?
Wow I didn't even know you can do that with the Nexus, I'm also very interested now.
twonky server works with my samsung only tried pics and music so far, I expect it will be fussy with vids though due to codec support in my tv.
might also work with ps3 dlna too, probably better codec support on that
just fire up the app and press the source/input on your tv remote and it shows up in the menu.
instant android media server
obviously you need both devices on the same network
very cool - no config
Works with the PS3! Wow this is awesome, I'm streaming my mp3s from my Nexus One as I type this =]
Edit: Also works with pictures on the PS3, I don't have any vids on my Nexus or I'd try that also.

Which one? The Acer one or twonky server?
The Acer one you posted above "DlnaService.apk" it plays a bit choppy on the music, but I think that's only because I have them both on wireless.
@irajames1176
Ok...I have to try. With Samsung TV I have probs...
I tried out Twonky Mobile going to a WD TV Live and audio, video and music all worked just fine. Pretty nice little app, actually. Quick and easy way to show some pics you've snapped on your phone.
I know this is an old thread... but now that the Droid X is coming out and has a new DLNA app, has anyone heard of anyone locating it?
Hi,
I'm wondering if the opposite is OK. I mean I want to use my Nexus One to access my DLNA server (Buffalo LinkStation NAS) to pull contents from there and play on N1. Is there any workable solution? Thank you.
That would be good.

I'm looking for something like this too. I have a ****load of stuff on my nas with a dlna server on it, I'd like to be able to connect to it from my phone to listen to my vast music collection.
I am also interested in some kind of a dlna player app, which plays music and videos out of my buffalo NAS (now it is trying to download instead of streaming).

Andromote has a local player built in. It sees my Xtreamer Mk1 set top box but I can't play anything from it.
Also, this DNLA client above isn't seen by my Xtreamer. I blame the crappy UPNP implementation of the Xtreamer. Seems to work right on the Nexus one with my PC though.
Back to running a Samba server on the Nexus for accessing my things from the Xtreamer. Atleast that works great!

I've tested it on my nexus one and my ps3. Mp3 and Pictures were good but videos not . I couldn't manage to run videos larger than 5 mb .
Some large Mp3s were also crappy .
Can anybody provide Galaxy S DLNA apk ???

I have this app running but it works only as long as the screen is on. When the phone goes to sleep the app cuts out as well though I have my WIFI settings to be Always ON. Is there a way to have the app running though the phone goes to sleep?
Thats the sickest problem with nexus one. I hate it...
Hello,
is there an app that allow me to stream the sound output form android to my pc or feed a icecast server?
galaxy 3, 2.1

I use Twonky Media Mobile. It will stream music to any DLNA compatible device. I am using it to stream the music from my Vibrant to my LG Blu-ray player (which outputs to my receiver) as we speak. It's a free app and it works well.
Just do a search for Twonky in the Android Market.
Something else you can do is use "Remote for iTunes". You can play your music on your iTunes from your phone. I literally just DJ'ed a party 2 days ago the entire night using this. I had my laptop hidden away and it worked awesomely.
So I'm about to get a new TV. And the Logitech box to convert the new TV to a Google TV. I have some movies I downloaded on my phone. there AVI format. I watch some on my phone. And it plays it probably because I downloaded a player app from the market that supports the file. Anyway. I wanna kno, can I stream those files to my TV to watch them. Somehow?

DLNA (AllShare)
Or if you're on a Froyo release or an AT&T Gingerbread leak, the MHL adapter included with the Infuse.
Skifta has been an awesome and free DLNA client in the time I've used it. Highly recommend it.
samsung needs to do a better job advertising the things unique to their phones. samsung phones play almost any codec you can think of and has a dlna. for a while when the captivate came out that was an actual advantage. now there are market apps that are better but try all share. if it doesnt work then download one from the market.
File Expert from the market has built in wifi streaming to your local network that you can use to streaming stuff to another wifi enabled device.

So when I use the Logitech box with this new TV. File expert can stream the avi formatted files over to my TV. With of course the help of box. How exactly does the box convert the TV into Google?
I am able to airplay music from my android to apple tv using doublethink, bit I am interested in going the otherway and playing video on my android from iTunes.
This app....
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.waxrain.airplayer
...Seems to work, as far as getting my android to appear in iTunes as a device to play to, but crashes once I select it.
Are there other options? What I find are only audio or do what doubletwist does...
Thanks

Have a Moto E (1st gen), have showbox on and have allcast premium to airplay to an Apple TV 3.
However, it's playing on the Moto A fine, goto options, share, allcast, AppleTV and I just get a spinning wheel on the Apple TV, sometimes the icon of Allcast is on the TV.
WiFi is fine, Apple TV works for other stuff, Moto E works on WiFi to, both on same WiFi network.
Anyone help? Is it me? The app? Showbox? My phone? Any other apps that are good for airplay to an Apple TV?
Thanks
