[Q] Stream Audio from Android to PC - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hello,
is there an app that allow me to stream the sound output form android to my pc or feed a icecast server?
galaxy 3, 2.1
greetings

I use Twonky Media Mobile. It will stream music to any DLNA compatible device. I am using it to stream the music from my Vibrant to my LG Blu-ray player (which outputs to my receiver) as we speak. It's a free app and it works well.
Just do a search for Twonky in the Android Market.

Something else you can do is use "Remote for iTunes". You can play your music on your iTunes from your phone. I literally just DJ'ed a party 2 days ago the entire night using this. I had my laptop hidden away and it worked awesomely.

[Q] App to control streamed music form a NAS

Hello android fans,
I'm looking for an app for this following task:
I'm going to buy a NAS and I want to stream MP3s from the NAS to my stereo-system.
I already use a WD HD TV Live media tank which is a great device. But you can only control this device only over your TV.
So I'm looking for an app or an app in combination with a media tank to control my streamed music.
Apple's iTunes remote with air express is a nice example for such a system. But I don't want to use Apple.
If there is no other solution it would be ok if I can control a iTunes Server (i.e. a QNAP nas) with an android app.
My android devices will be a desire hd and galaxy tab. The galaxy tab is upnp and dlna ready.
Thnx for your tipps.
greetings,
stiefa00

[Q] DLNA Player?

Is there currently a DLNA / UPNP PLAYER (going from a server to the phone.... not the other way around) for Android?
I believe the Galaxy S phones were supposed to have one? If so, did anyone extract them?
I also would like to know if something like this is available. I can play back mp3 and jpg on my Desire HD, but not video files.
My GT-I9000 Galaxy has a program called AllShare. I just use Media player 12 on my WiN7 machine and it allows me to stream to AllShare. I can play divx movies, tv series, and other videos just fine off my home wifi network.
Gmote for audio works great.
I was looking for more for the video option. I have a ton of divx / xvid on my server.
When I use astro with the smb addon..... I can search the server but then I get an error when Rockplayer tries to play it.
estrongs isn't able to let me login for some reason.
But since my NAS has dlna and upnp I'm just looking for a simple player or app that can search dlna.
I've been looking for an app of this nature for over a year. Still no luck. I would guess that the developers that would be closest to being able to get this going would be one of the video player developers such as Rockplayer or Vplayer alpha. They've already got multi format playback for videos. Now if only they could playback these formats as a stream from dlna/upnp.........
Bumping. With the release of android based tablets dnla / upnp video players are going to be a huge win.
Anyone with a good answer?
Skifta?

I agree, AllShare works great with my Samsung TV and my laptop being the server with all the video files. My laptop has ubuntu with MiniDLNA as the server. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732005 has a link to dlna.apk (which is allshare) weird thing is all the permissions it asks for when installing :/ even wants access to SMS which i thought was weird
for video try http://www.appbrain.com/app/vlc-stream-convert/com.gmail.traveldevel.android.vlc.app with vlc on your pc
if you want only music http://www.appbrain.com/app/twonky-mobile-free/com.pv.twonkyremote works nicely with windows media player library shararing on local network
i've been searching for a good solution for a long time now. I have an ampache server setup now but its cumbersome, none of the ampache apps on android are that great.
Does twonky work over the internet?
no it doesn't but you can smoho get vlc stream and convert working over the internet
The best I have been able to come up with is using UPnP with an app called UPnPlay - in conjunction with VPlayer (which for me is working smoother than Rockplayer).
It's not dlna but it's something.

I have played with lots of different dlna players but by FAR.... the best app is called
iMediaShare - it works perfectly with windows 7/XP (windows media player). You can play music and videos that are on your pc on either your PC (using your phone as a remote control) or play them on your phone streaming them from your PC.
Also there are TV channels like Nasa or Youtube you can use your phone as a high tech tv remote.
Amazing!
P.S My frav before this was Twonk
P.P.S My frav phone browser/streamer is 'Browsix' (again AMAZING!)
P.P.P.S my title is not right sorry, it should say IMediaShare

[Q] Which App to stream video/music from a NAS?

Hi,
I am interested in getting a tablet with Android 3.0 on and am wanting to stream video/music via wifi from my NAS to the tablet and then connect the tablet to my TV via HDMI.
Now I have seen the Apple Ipad2 and that seems to do what I am after but I can see no such app for android. Will the soon to be released VLC media player be able to do this? If not which apps do I need as I can test them on my Xperia x10 to see if they work.
I use cifsmanager to map my smb shares on my sdcard. Once setup any media appear will play files off your smb shares as if they were local with no problem.

[Q] Wifi Music Streaming

I'm looking for an app that will let me stream music that I have saved on my computer to my TF over my home network. I have my network all set up for sharing and everything. I've been using File Expert and more recently Antek to stream videos over SMB, which is all well and good, but it kind of sucks for music when I can only stream one file at a time. I'd like something that I can designate a network location as a music library and then have access to all of my music and so on and so forth. Does such a thing exist? Even if I have to use a program on the PC in conjunction with the app, that would be super.
I cannot use Google Music here in Canada (unless that has changed recently) or else I probably would.

What you need is dlna server and client. transformer already comes with program that supports it. It's called "mynet". On pc you can use windows media player to share you music.
Ps3 media server is the best PC side app ive used for this sort of thing, never tried it with the tf101 but works great with a ps3 or wd tv live.

Maybe Audiogalaxy is what you are looking for? It is what I use to stream music from my PC to my Transformer. It's very easy to use.
I use PlugPlayer. It picks up on any DLNA servers so no additional PC services needed. I also use subsonic for remote access away from home, but it does use a PC service.

Nexus 5: any music player with network support? (e.g. NAS)

Hello, i'm going for a nexus 5 (in 2 days) and leaving my Samsung S3 mini.
Google Play Music doesn't quite do the job I need for music. I loved the Samsung and BQ stock app, and now i'm looking for a good music player, but it must have network support - for playing files from my PC or NAS media server.
I have tried rocket player, which I liked for the simplicity (and folder selection), but no network support at all.
Does anyone know any good app for my needs? Thank you in advance!

Thank you, but that doesn't work for me. It has to be one (like the stock players I wrote) that works seamlessly with several media servers like windows media server, or twonky server (NAS). My S3 mini stock player does that just fine, I tested a BQ Aquarius e5HD and also works well...
I have a NAS also for not needing the pc up and running when I want to retrieve music from a portable device.
So, still trying to find the right app...

Thanks
soumi music player, its a basic one, you can cache playlists to your phone so you can play without being connected,
the only downside is the music player wont show up on lockscreen, you need to go in the app to access controls.
it will generate a database and you can search on it
Why don't you pull the stock music player app from the Samsung?
If I'm not mistaken, Neutron should also connect to a NAS just fine.
