Hi.
I want to apply an OTA upgrade to my Moto G, it has the stock firmware and is rooted with the bootloader unlocked too. I read that there shouldn't be any problem updating it, but i have deleted some google apps, like book, games, and movies. Will i been able to do the upgrade without this apps or do i have to intall them again?

The phone will not let you upgrade to 4.4.4 if you have deleted some apps. I tried doing it and it failed thrice. So I reverted to stock 4.4.2, upgraded to 4.4.4 and then rooted my phone again. I tried renaming the OTA and updating it manually as suggested in a few other posts here but it didn't work for me..

i have recently unlocked my boot loader and installed xposed followed by some useful tweaks. after hearing the announcement of andriod lollipop i was awestruck and now i feel guilty about rooting my mobile. can i get OTA update for andriod 5.0??? if yes what am i supposed to do before installing the update??? (i know it's too early to talk about it, but i can't handle my anxiety)
Find and flash a stock ROM... When the roll out starts just "un-root" using SuperSu's built in "un-root" option.

You will need to flash stock ROM, stock recovery and unroot your device in order to update to lollipop safely
i received OTA Update yesterday. i downloaded the data. In installing process my phone was rebooted and installed the 5.0 data in few seconds and displayed like this "error"
after my phone normally switch on and show your update is unsuccessful.
Have you unlocked bootloader? Or rooted your phone? The sysyem needs to be in PURE stock form. However if you haven't altered your sysyem, do this by stock flashable zips available for your region.....or if your phone is still in warranty, go to moto service centre. They will update it for you for free.
Hello Android gurus
I tried to find the answer to my problem in the other threads, but I'm still not 100% sure if I should proceed.
. I had rooted xt1032 moto g prior to 5.0.2 OTA that came out yesterday.
I used full unroot with supersu prior to applying the OTA thinking it would be ok. I guess I screwed up, my phone is soft bricked.
I can get in stock recovery but otherwise it is on boot loop and ends up with 'no command'.
I have the moving line problem on the bootloader white screen which seems to imply a diferent version of kernel and bootloader, (which I do not full understand)
.. Which makes we wonder if it is unsafe to flash the stock rom 4.4.4 image of my phone.
And if it is safe, will I be able to update via OTA after that?
What are my options? Thanks in advance!
The moving line issue is probably due to the fact that you have the 41.18 bootloader on your phone.
I also have a Koodo xt1032 with the 41.18 bootloader and was able to flash back to stock Telus 4.4.4. Do not flash stock 4.4.2 as other XDA members have said that flashing 4.4.2 would brick your phone.
I'm checking for OTA updates but I keep getting the message that my phone's software is up to date.

My LG G Flex 2 keeps downloading an OTA update. When I opt for installing it, the phone reboots, but I get an error with fallen robot on the screen. Then the phone boots normally.
But then downloads LS996ZV9 (?) via cellular network eating my traffic and I get the same problem.
Is there any way to switch to downloading OTA updates via Wi-Fi only? And how can I install the downloaded update? Is there any way to avoid downloading updates from unknown sources?
Are you rooted? Have you altered/frozen/deleted any system apps? If so, the OTA update will fail.

What version do you currently have? ZV8=?
Maybe your phone has some altered system files and thats why you cant update.
You should download the correspondant STOCK system image and flash it.
That way you can OTA update to ZV9 and that will make your problem stop.

I have ZV6. May be some files are altered indeed. Will try to factory reset the phone first.
Is the stock ROM available on lg or sprint websites?

No. Theres no rom anywhere. Do not factory reset first... If you do that you'll have to send it back to LG if the phone stays in bootloop or security boot error...
Anyones has figured this out, I'm on the same boat. Everytime I tried to update, an error occurs.
Yours probably came rooted from the seller. LS996 is Sprint variant. If you are not on Sprint network and your LS996 works with your network, that means your system files were already modified when you purchased the device. OTA updates wont work on rooted devices. If you really want to take the OTA updates, you will have to unroot first, by flashing stock system.img. You can download the ZV6 stock system.img here. You can flash it using this guide.
