OTA update won't work when your android device rooted, you need to full unroot first to get OTA update
Hi.
I want to apply an OTA upgrade to my Moto G, it has the stock firmware and is rooted with the bootloader unlocked too. I read that there shouldn't be any problem updating it, but i have deleted some google apps, like book, games, and movies. Will i been able to do the upgrade without this apps or do i have to intall them again?

The phone will not let you upgrade to 4.4.4 if you have deleted some apps. I tried doing it and it failed thrice. So I reverted to stock 4.4.2, upgraded to 4.4.4 and then rooted my phone again. I tried renaming the OTA and updating it manually as suggested in a few other posts here but it didn't work for me..
Hi
I have had a bit of a disaster with my new Honor 6. It came with
kitkat, but I saw a link to install Lollipop for local update (ie don't
wait for OTA). (I am in the UK by the way)
Installed ok, but then the keyboard disappeared only voice commands,
and it seemed it was the Indian version. I tried to roll back using
B500 then to B396 but seemed to have intermittent problems connecting
to Google Play. I have had this before on a Chinese sourced Huawei
which I believe was because the firmware wouldn't allow authentication
with Google Play - well not more than once or twice, then would lose
it.
I have finally managed to get to build H60-L04V100R001C00B396 and it
*seems* to be happy with Play at the moment. I factory reset and oddly
it asked me to select the Vodafone type from a dropdown (including
prepay and postpay - wtf?) and couldn't get Vodafone data working until
I tinkered with the APN which I hadn't had to do with the original
install.
Bottom line : am I on the right version for the UK and should be ok
with google Play going forward - and will be able to upgrade to
Lollipop when it hits UK via OTA?
If not, what should I do?
Sorry for long post, but any help gratefully received.

Good luck!
Does anybody have the latest version of verizon's Caller Name ID app? I am currently running digital high's GPE ROM S-off, rooted, blah blah, but his latest update lost the app.
I use this app to see who is calling, it is very convenient and I do not mind the fee, but I have been unsuccessful in finding the actual app anywhere to reinstall on my phone.
Also I usually use titanium backup but recently had to get a NEW phone from verizon because the old one broke and had to use sunshine to get s-off again. Now I can not find the app anywhere.
Thanks guys if anybody can post the apk.
Stumbled upon your post. This apk is from U.S. Verizon's LG G4 (VS986) with firmware VS98610B (Android 5.1), version 3.10.0 2015-02-18. Hope this helps.
Moto G4 Amazon Ad Ed., Can I restore to stock Motorola Firmware & get OTA updates?
Title says all. I see on site that there is guide to just remove the ads, but I want to restore it to the stock Motorola firmware (fresh out of the box phone, nothing on it) and I want to make sure i will get the Official OTA updates from Motorola after that point.
Any help is appreciated.
To be clear I am worried about the current firmware will block it because it has likely been updated, so if I were to buy a new phone today. IE. the amazon firmware thats on the phones today vs when they launched months ago.
Does anyone know about this??
