Amazon Appstore Not Allowing To Approve Permissions - G3 Themes and Apps

Amazon Appstore appears to be working differently than on my Galaxy S3.
Both with the built in system version and the upgraded version, when I download say, the free app of the day, it automatically installs it. Previously, It would purchase it, then download it, then once it's downloaded, I got a permissions page where I could then cancel the install.
I frequently "purchase" the free app of the day to get it on my account, but then don't install it.
Is this change something different with the way GS3 works or did Amazon appstore change something. I think it's the GS3 because it happens on both version 9 pre-installed and version 10 updated.

Can anyone confirm how this works for them on the G3

Installs without permission check. Dislike.

Ok, so I'm not the only one. So is this something unique to the G3 then and why?

Is your samsung rooted? Because I have a samsung gs3 and a Lg G pad both rooted and amazon asks for permission but it does not ask for permission on my LG G3 which is not rooted

Yes, both the GS3 and G3 are rooted I don't know why it works differently in the G3.
Edit: I also just looked at an HTC One S running Jellybean/rooted and it definitely does ask to approve permissions before installing. But, what's interesting, is that, the Amazon Appstore on the One S doesn't have a setting for automatic updates. My Galaxy S3 running Kitkat also doesn't have an update for automatic updates. Both have the same Amazon Appstore version as the LG G3.
This is very strange. Why/How does LG G3 have an extra option?
Even if I disable automatic updates on the G3 Amazon Appstore, it still doesn't ask for permissions,.

Amazon actually has phone support for the appstore and I called and spoke to someone who understood the issue and opened a ticket with engineering.
Will post if I hear back.
I bet this is just some sort of bug in how the appstore works with the G3 and that they can fix this with an update.

I just tried with my rooted D855, and got the permissions screen as per normal. I'm pretty sure I've had it every time I've used appstore. I suspect a carrier specific issue.

Amazon app store does not have all apps. I recently looked for dice player and chromemarks since I had extra cash on my gift card and could not find them. Hopefully that changes in Nov when it releases.

Amazon App store
I installed the Amazon App store on my tablet but when I tried to download a free app I was informed I was in an unsupported market: Canada.
I beleive (assuming) this has to do with copyright laws. A lot of their kindle devices aren't available in Canada due our different copyright laws.
Something to look into if you are counting on the app store.

Paid apps
I just got the Fire today. I went to install Ultimate Tabs, which I had purchased on the Android Market and had previously installed on my HTC Eris and then my HTC Incredible 2.
With the Fire, you have to use Amazon's App Market, so I went looking for Ultimate Tabs there and found it. But now they want me to pay for it again!
Now, I can see if I had it installed on an iphone previously, but this is supposed to be another Android device. Why should I have to pay for it twice? Anyone know of a way around this (besides sideloading the apk) that's legitimate?

I saw a thread telling me how to root it and install the Android Market. But then I saw another thread saying that rooting kills the Fire's ability to stream Amazon Prime videos. I don't know whether it's worth it. Maybe I should just shut up and pay the 2.99, but it's the principle of the thing lol.
if you already have it on another android device, u can extract the apk from there and side load it to Fire

Promo for G Pad 7.0

Just as an FYI. I got my G3 the day it came out and I was able to talk the AT&T store near my office to honor the .99 cent promotional deal for the G Pad 7.0.
Essentially the deal is buy any new LG phone (G2, G3 or Flex) and you get a G Pad 7.0 LTE for .99 cents. You will need to add it as a line on your plan, but that's just $10 a month for me and I got a nice LTE tablet.
YMMV.
Edit: adding link to promo post
http://blogs.att.net/consumerblog/story/a7795961
Interesting. I was thinking about this promo and my biggest concern was that I had already bought the G3. Also I bought it at best buy. I know best buy does price matching. I'm just trying to get a deal!
No matter what, I can never stay away from android for long.

Bestbuy has a 30 day return policy. If you are under that they should allow you to return it. If not bestbuy should price match for you.

I'm an AT&T employee, can confirm this offer is valid.
Details:
LG G Pad 7.0 tablet
Upfront: $1
2 year contract required: Yes
Activation fee: Yes, $40 on next bill
Monthly increase: $10/month for Mobile Share Value plans (shared existing bucket of data), $20-$50/month for old-school nationwide talk plans depending on how much data you want for the tablet.
Regular retail price: $250

Update: I stopped by an at store today to see if they had the folio case for the G3 in stock and the rep walked me over to the LG section. He started telling me about the promo for 50% off of the watch as well as the G Pad. He asked me how long ago I got my phone and I told him not too long ago and he said that I would be able to qualify for the 99 cent promo. He asked me if I had gotten the phone at an att store and I told him the truth. I told him I bought it at best buy. He said he believed I would still qualify but asked his manager. His manager said he would honor the price for me!!! I was able to walk out of the store with the G Pad 7.0 for 99cents plus tax! #winning
I noticed there aren't any forums yet for the 7.0 though. Im itching to root too! Lol
Just bought a LG 3. I got the tablet for 99 cents! Stone cold deal.
I would have done this, but I really don't want to add another $10 a month to my bill...plus I have a great tab..Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 EDITION......but for a buck it's worth that lol

You can actually install G3 tweaks box and I've found a lot of it works for our gpad. I also installed LG emojis changer and that worked without a hitch. I tried changing the colors of the nav buttons on the bottom didn't work but I was able to change the battery. Center clock, custom carrier. Check out it. I think a lot of the stuff made for the G3 will work on the gpad.

Isis Wallet/Softcard On Rooted Phones

Is there a problem with using Softcard/Isis Wallet on a rooted phone since they changed their name to Softcard? I never tried it under the Isis Wallet name so I don't know if it worked then or not. I am unable to run Softcard now because it detects that I am rooted. I have Xposed Framework. I have tried Root Cloak and Isis Root Bypass. Neither one seems to work. Any ideas?

It will only work on T-Mobile,att or Verizon phones. They have a special file that reads the enhanced sim card. Maybe they will allow it now that Apple pay is competing, this way they can get it on more phones.

Updates
My app updated yesterday (automatically because of the local wifi) as I was at the store and ready to pay and all of a sudden my phone was freezing because it was updating all the settings..
Well after I got my phone to work and the app to reopen, it said it couldnt open because it was rooted. I had already used a different method of cloaking my root but it seemed to have not worked with the newer version.
My question is...
Will this keep working even if the app updates again?
That way I dont have to go through the same trouble of having to look online for another solution
Root cloak doesn't work anymore. The Softcard app was recently updated and it is back to giving me the error about not working with rooted phones. Are there any other cloaking programs that work?

LG G4 AT&T

I just walked out of my local att store. The theme settings are there unlike on Verizon but the usual flood of bloat apps are all there. It's as bad as a go phone. None would let me Uninstall and several are also unable to be disabled such as the stock Twitter app. I looked at the storage setting and a fresh G4 has over 1.2GB of apps installed with only 21GB free space.
Wait for root. And just kick them out.
Root will do it sure, but for now I'm holding off getting it. If the att model gets root that will be enough for me. Having Google play edition m7 and m8 had just spoiled me to much I guess..
Here is hoping for a root very shortly. I am due for an upgrade and it is either the G4 with root 8 wait for the new Nexus phones. Currently nothing else on the market meets my requirements, that could change of course.

Strange you can't disable twitter. I was able to.
I think the only things I couldn't disable were a couple LG apps. Overall, bloat isn't a big deal for me as long as it isn't using resources or draining battery.

So why did you buy the AT&T version instead of the unlocked version if you hate bloat so much?
I didnt end up getting it, still debating on it. I only tried the demo at the AT%T store, but would think its the same as a retail one. Strange that Twitter gives an error when you select to disable it. Glad thats not the case on a retail model though.
I hate bloat and branding but settled for the ATT version because it was easier to come but and ultimately, more compatible with their network.
Every ATT app can be disabled except for their Address Book and Remote support. Really not that big of a deal.
I do hate that apps like Twitter, Uber, and Amazon get bundled in. I've never used Twitter or Uber and prefer to use Amazon's site.

The international version supports AT&T's LTE bands (2, 4, 5, 17). You will probably lose VoLTE support though.
It also doesn't support band 30, AT&T's new upcoming band. AT&T version does.
Ultimately, I went for what was readily available to me.

Them letting Sprint gimpo the phone by removing the email app and galery app is rediculous. There are a lot of people like me coming from note 7 who were on the fence between the larger size of the LG v20 and the familiar samsung experience of the s7 edge. Realizing the email and gallery app and god knows what else is removed by sprint might just be the straw that breaks the camels back to get me to return this for an s7 edge plus, or just run my note 4 till the s8 comes out. rediculous!

All the threads are explaining that the apps cant be sideloaded onsprint version. If you have a workaround please share.
I sideloaded the gallery app just fine. I didn't sideload any email apps cause I using Inbox and Gmail app. Don't know who is having issues but as long as the apk file is pulled out and you install the apk (not some flashable zip which won't work on any unrooted phone) should work just fine. Let me find my post where I posted the gallery apk file.

Thank you! The gallery app worked. The email one would make my day if anyone can find a working apk the ones ive tried say they are corrupt and cant be installed
Once people start rooting the Tmobile version I assume we can get the apk files from them. I also assume at some point LG and Sprint will push an update giving us these apps as well.

I uploaded the music apk and the email apk , using several methods, yet people said the devices showed the file as corrupted as if Tmobile did something to the apps, or Sprint probably has different signatures for the apps. i checked the files for corruption and it came out clean.
I don't think it is possible to simply pull an apk out of a flashable zip and get it to install correctly. It has been my experience in the past with other phones that never worked for me. We need a true apk file maybe saved by TB or some other backup type program.
The bigger issue is that messaging app and email app are probably system apps and without root we will never be able to get those to be that sideloading them.

I'm surprised you guys are that worried about it, I haven't used stock email apps in years and for a gallery app, took all of 5 seconds to look on the play store for a decent one
If you have that new ad blocker, turn it off then try to install apks.
Ad blocker requires root right? So none of us have that.
I don't care about stock email or messaging, but rather was just trying to dissuade people from returning their phone just because of that small (IMHO) oversight.
Coming from the Note 7 this phone, the V20 is disappointing, but there isn't a phone out there like the Note 7, so I'll wait it out a year or two with this one and hope Samsung has their act together then.

The new ad blocker doesn't require root. Search the v20 threads. Plus I've been notified that the bug I mentioned had been reported.
Welp. I've jumped ship. Went to tmobile due to hotspot. After those 5 gb Sprint gives, its too slow to even run Chromecast.
