Nook

I downloaded the nook asp from the market earlier on today. I haven't started it yet though.
Tonight I went to check it out but it wasn't on my nexus one so I went to market to check if it had been installed but it no longer exists in the market. I'm sure that it was installed though.
I'm based in the uk by the way if that's a factor. Was it remotely installed or something else? Thanks in advance.

i installed then uninstalled it so we definitely did have it at some point but now its gone, guess it must have been for USA only.

I'm in the US, and Nook app shows here on AT&T.

The only requirement I can find on their webpage is that you have Android 1.6 or higher. I feel like they should have mentioned if it was for USA only.
It's still installed and showing up in the market for me on Verizon.

Doesn't show up anymore on European markets but using Market Enabler and US setting, it shows up.
I installed this few days ago when it was available also without Market Enabler. Cool app, but I prefer real books.

Hi Guys,
I live outside the US but have a Nook and many B&N ebooks that I've bought. I don't want to root my Desire (to get around the market place regional issues) so would be grateful if someone can post the Nook APK.

Doesn't show in the market in Sweden, but some MarketEnabler magic remedied that!

Download it from Barnes and Noble, thats where i got it from.

Amazon just launched its app store today and is giving out Angry Birds Rio for free today, it is awesome.

PS: You need the ability to enable unknown sources, hence is not available for AT&T . Since most of the custom roms have it so it works for us.

Laggy in what ? I found it pretty smooth.
Has this issue where it asks you to enable one click purchase option and I could not get past that.. but if you purchase it online, and then open the app store on the phone it downloads the apps instantly. I actually found it faster than the market.

+1...and i heard they have this offer to give one paid app for free per day or something....worth trying....
Dont make a mistake of installing Angry bird Rio...u might get addicted ...playing it since i installed it....3 hrs straight ...

At worst they might have to change the name... I don't think they will have to close the store unless google or the carriers decide against it.

Actually better than android market...both amazon web and app version
What is the critique process and security?
Do they check apps like itunes, no check or maybe check like goggle market
Edit: I'm still sticking with android market...I think multiple markets will get confusing....I can imagine the "with amazon app store" phones already ):

i think is the wrong path to go with Android. Its good to have all the same OS but what if BB comes out with their own market (which they will) but then you have a Samsung?
Google should put a stop to this.
FYI: Some of the apps on the Amazon AppStore cost more than they do in the Market.

Sideload Wonder Machine will work on Stock Rooted ROM (Froyo). Use it to install the Amazon App MArket. Then download Rio...it won't install, but you can again use SWM to install the downloaded Rio apk.

It NEEDS credit card info even to download FREE apps..!!!!

So please let me know what do i need to do if i want to install amazon appstore on my captivate, and how can i do it

Just set it to use your normal Amazon Store CC. thats all i did.

Installed without issue on my stock AT&T 2.2. Used AIO Toolbox to enable side loading and I just downloaded using the link and installed. Linked it with my Amazon account (which already has 1-click setup) and downloaded Angry Birds Rio and installed without issue.

Same here. Already blew through the first 15 levels of Angry Birds Rio.
It is much easier if you already have an Amazon account established prior to installing their App Store.

How about for yuppies like me who does not have any credit card yet?

Use a test card, Mailinator for an address, and make yourself an account with no real info other than your tn. I didn't try to fake that out, it might work, it might not.
Of course their app store runs on startup, and is required to run the program, meaning I'll finish off Angry Birds Rio in airplane mode then uninstall it all.
And Amazon's interface is pretty bad, especially when you are in catagories. Didn't they test?

Interesting...I was able to install on stock 2.2. I guess since I've rooted and enabled non market apps it was able to do that. Not sure why an Amazon appstore tho..what does it have over the market?

Its great that we can finally have an app store that filters out all the crap in the android market. The one thing I miss the most from iOS is a decent app store with (at the very least) pretty apps. Unfortunately there is just too much low quality stuff meant phones with low res displays.

Dead Space on Amazon Marketplace - For the Kindle

If you haven't seen this game, you probably should.
The (best?) game I have seen so far for an Android device and this one has been (modified?) for the Kindle Fire.

They incorrectly state that its a ipad version running (that version has been out for a while), the actual game is on the Amazon marketplace for $6.99

Funny - in Amazon's App store, when you bring up the page for "Dead Space (Kindle Fire Edition)", it says it's not compatible with my Kindle Fire.

Strange, I was able to purchase, install and play it without any issues last night.

What is everyone's take on the game? It looked good, but I'm skeptical. I also have played both games on 360 already.

Sad stuff, being from EU I can't access the Amazon AppStore and can't purchase it.

I think, you only need to give an address in the US to be able to access the amazon appstore.

Issues
I've had many issues with this game since I purchased it, just won't open, takes many many times trying to open it to finally get it to play, and sometimes it will open, but get to the EA screen and Force Close. Once it finally opens all the way thou, it plays perfectly, never force closes or waffles. If it's been pulled, it was prolly pulled for these issues, many reviewers of the game in the Amazon App Store where having the same problems.
Although when it does play, it's very good. The gameplay is is perfect for a tablet, I was surprised at how well it really played, and the graphics look amazing.

super fun, pref shadowgun more though.

Even though its a paid app if someone would upload it that would be great. Ill buy it when it comes back to the store I'm just excited.

Your willingness to pay for it in the future, no matter how honorable, is not reason enough for anyone to upload this file. If you find it via other sources, good for you, but please don't ask people to do that on this forum.

'This app is not compatible with your device' problem

HI guys, I have 'This app is not compatible with your device' message on 80% of apps on Market.... I didn't use my tablet for 3 month... it was properly working before
Now market looks different and i cannot download most of the apps.
I've tried to clean Market data, but it hangs, and when I reboot i works but issue still there.
I use Vanilla AOSP
What will be recommended action? Thank you

What worker is to update to 1.2, then I flashed GTabCombOver 3.4.2, now market works!

Good to see you sorted your problem. I get this error with the game loft data down loaders, the market let's me install them but the game downloaded gives the the incompatibility BS.

I solved this problem by getting a build.prop editor from the marketplace (should be available to most devices) and copied the settings from my HTC Glacier (MyTouch 4g). I can now download everything my MyTouch can. Some apps have minor problems, but most everything works fine. The only thing I can't d/l is the nvidia games, but I would submit that copying the build.prop settings from a phone that has the nvidia tegra would fix that problem.

I'm running the DRH ICS BETA and it has a built in build.prop editor with various selections to try but none have been successful for me, I even tried using the build.prop from my galaxy nexus but it wouldn't even boot.

Which settings do I change? I have the same problem. Apps that work on my Razr, don't work on here. Both are newspaper/magazine subscriptions.
Also, could the same thing be done to fool the Amazon market to think this is one of their tablets?

That doesn't really make sense. Amazon sold a ton of g-Tablets both via Woot! and Amazon itself. The g-Tablet is well-supported on the Amazon app market.

I meant specifically Kindle Fire Apps. This applies to a couple of news subscriptions that are available for I Pad, Kindle fire, but not generic Android tablets.

I found an answer to this problem. I downloaded what I needed on my Razr, did a complete backup with Titanium pro, copied the appropriate app onto SD card, put into G Tablet and install using Titanium pro. Worked great, that way the Market doesn't have to know what device I am installing this onto. The only problem was a notice that the resolution might be off. however, this was no problem.

I am using Cyanogenmod 7.2.0 (stable mod) and haven't found anything in the play store that I can't install. The only problem is using an older version of Google maps is necessary if you want to use maps. CM7 is fast and sips the battery.

Ouch, if I went to download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.meg&hl=en from the Play store, it refuses as "This app is incompatible with all of your devices. Airtel Motorola MB865: This item cannot be installed in your device's country. Motorola XT720: This item cannot be installed in your device's country." I am not thru VPN, so my IP addr should clearly show I am from India. So if anyone post the APK I'll give it a shot. However, I got NFS Hot Pursuit pre-installed in my phone.

I'm in the US, I didn't know the promo was only for india (IIRC Motorola has it on their US site)
I got it from Amazon Wireless as an upgrade for ATT (1 penny)
That's stupid, well if anyone has a APK it would still be worth trying.

So, try this, I am sure there are enough checks built in the app to verify if your country/scheme/whatever is eligible for the offer.

Hey, just so you guys know, Real Racing 2 and Hot Pursuit seem to be on the Redemption Program now, RR2 wasn't yesterday but is now.

I've got my Atrix 2 in US at AT&T in January. I've never knew about those 10 free games, but I downloaded the app posted earlier in this thread and it let me download 9 apps with no issues. I'm currently in Europe, so I don't know if it has anything to do with it

And it doesn't end there.. i have downloaded more than 10 games. And the redemption app says i got '-3' games left! Love ya moto..

Works on my wife's AT&T Atrix 2 running latest ICS leak (after you manually install the APK). Nice!

Just to share a small experience, When was on unrooted stock GB had done a factory reset and had saved the earlier 10 redeemed apks & then when checked the EA redemption app got later, got 10 more games additionally like BFBC2, Madden NFL 12, Tiger Woods 12 etc. Also yet showed in minus (-) games for additional downloads & now after updating to ICS the EA app exists but get message "your device is not supported by this app" which is fine as got more than bargained for.

One question..i download and install these games..after that if i do a factory reset then do i have download all the data again??

If you have NOT formatted the memory card then you don't need to download the game data.. you still need to download the games though.
