[Q] Battery Saver option - AT&T LG G3

Well, I thought that I know how it works, but after reaching 20% I have got that fancy message under the main widget that I need to enable Battery Saver option, when I have enabled it right the way during phone setup.
My questions are:
- what exactly is done after switching Battery Saver to "ON"? I don't see any additional options for ON statement
- when is OFF and battery will reach 20% does it will trigger manual battery saving options?
Thanks

After you turn it in, just touch right next to the switch that says "battery saver". That will open up the options that you can select.
If you have the battery saving option turned off...well the it won't do anything for your battery

When I have turned off I'm able to choose what can be turned off when battery will reach 20%. When is ON I'm not able. For me it looks like:
- Battery Saver ON - it makes automatic decisions by the system what must be reduced when reached 20%
- Battery Saver OFF - it will use your set rules what must be turned off when reached 20%
or I have a bug in my system which allows to choose options when Battery Saver is set to OFF statement

I see what your saying. Just looked at mine. Yeah it does let you select and make changes when its set to OFF but don't think anything would kick in unless you have it set to on. You can also change the percentage that the battery saver will kick on at if you didn't want it on at 20%.
Can test it out if you wanted. Just see what percentage your battery is on and change the saver to kick on at a percent your almost at. Then see if it goes on. If it does then turn saver off and see if the notification goes away. Not sure if I wrote that in a way that's understandable lol.

No problem. Let me know what you find out.

So I have done few tests and it comes that if the function is ON then it executes set rules. No clue why rules can be set when the function is OFF.
Also I have no clue what I have triggered there but now I have 57% batter with usage of 42 hours and estimated remaining 113h

Orientation App that's NOT a battery drain

I had to stop using Locale because it was using 92% of my battery....tried to use Auto Settings (love the idea of it) but that was using 85% of it....is there any out there that will not drain my battery?
BTW when I say Orientation I mean face down will be vibrate and face up normal or something like that.
Thanks guys
Use a toggle widget? They take half a second to switch from vibrate to normal.

That's not a bad idea. I suppose any app that will have to use the Acc. will cause a serious battery drain. That's unfortunate because Auto Settings is very useful.
I think that settings profile advertised that it has a widget that goes along with it?

If you are going by battery statistics from system settings menu under "about phone", then those percents are not necessarily accurate. You need to look at the actual usage of those apps from something like System Monitor. The problem with the built in battery stats is that while it reports a high percent, the app actually only pings usage very minimally for a short burst. It uses little to none overhead, yet the battery screen reports it as constantly running.
I had this issue with Screebl, but System Monitor show that it uses very little of anything.

[HOW TO] Decrease battery consumption(MOST EFFECTIVE WAY)

Hello everyone,
when i was looking for roms kernels and etc i see that the biggest problem is battery consumption. maybe there are some threads here about this but mine is little different. Before setting everything lets calibrate our battery,
Download this app and wait till your battery show 100% (please DO NOT CALIBRATE BEFORE 100%) and open app click "calibrate battery" and unplug the phone. Now you have a calibrated battery.
firstly, we need ROOTED PHONE some apps;
1-ROM TOOLBOX(THE MOST IMPORTANT APP,for market click)
2-GO POWER MASTER (for market click)
3-EASY TASK KİLLER ADVANCED (for market click)
If we had these apps and phone, then LET'S START
As we know the most consumption is done by kernel and the apps that working in background, and the connection units(wifi,3g etc.).
Starting with killing app in background
*Open easy task killer
*From setting >under auto optimize(title) > check the auto optimize.
*Set the auto optimize percent to 60% (this means that when your free memory goes below 60% the app kills all of them ).
*Set the auto optimize frequency to 5 minutes or half hour (5 is best) (this option shows the interval)
*And from the filter setting choose "low security". Now the setting of this app finished let's go on with next app.
We now use rom toolbox for setting our kernel,
*Open app and under permonce setting choose "cpu control" here u will see cpu sliders and profiles
*From the profiles( i attached #5 my profiles photo). you must set the profiles as i set but just the priority beause my kernel and your kernel is not the same and the profiles are depends on you.
(HEY I9003 USERS YOU CAN JUST COPY IT, BECAUSE OUR KERNEL IS THE SAME MAYBE PARTIALLY)
My advice is choosing scren of profile to the lowest value.
And now the last app "go power master" for screen, radio, wifi and all the others.
*Open app and go setings >check "auto start when boots up".
*Go mode and choose "general save" profile(you can see what the profile include from the attachment #7 and #8)
*Then go "smart" > "switch mode by power" > set it "on" 20. save and go back.
*And again "smart" > "switch mode by time" >time is depends on you but you must choose the profile as "long standby" (which turns of all connection and put the phone in flight mode).this mode will return your previous profile after your interval.
YES, AND NOW WE FINISHED THE SETTING OUR BATTERY TO THE BEST CONDITION.
ENJOY WİTH YOUR BATTERY
My battery usually lasts a day and a half. And maybe less than a day with heavy internet surfing and games.
Imma try out your steps and see if it makes a difference

İt is coming with my custom rom mean i didnt do anything but if you use "icon changer" in "rom toolbox" you can change the battery icon but be careful and back up your original now you will ask how? Dont wory icon changer will ask your whether you want or not. This may not work with all devices. BE CAREFUL

Battery tips on the surface pro

Hey guys so I know there are a few things that can improve battery life and some things that are supposed to help but may be a mith? Things as only draining battery to 10% and charging to 90% or something like this. What are tips that help? Also if you guys have changed your cpu settings that really improved the battery life let us know!
I drained my battery down to 0% after the second time I used it and it pushed my battery up from 3:30 to 5:30. I also use batterybar to see the stats and whatnot. Another thing you can do is go into power options in the Control Panel and change the plan settings > advance power settings. I usually change the Processor power management settings and the Intel Graphics Settings.

do you ever charge it to 100%
Does leaving it on the charger like when playing a game or something matter? Does it stop charging once it reaches 100
AFAIK, leaving it on the charger shouldn't matter. It's a smart charger. I always charge it to 100%, but never go lower than 10%. I try to recharge around 15%.
Best thing I've done is disable my bluetooth since I have no devices that use it.
Second is lower the brightness while on battery.
I'm getting around 5:30 of battery life doing things like browsing, email, news reading, and using Autodesk Sketchbook Design.
Disable automatic brightness. Change the screen timeout to the lowest value that works for you. Turn off BT. Turn off live tiles and notifications for apps you don't need to update on your main screen and lock screen. Run the troubleshooter for power and see if you can deal with what it changes.

Power saving mode - automatically turn on?

Is there a way to have Power saving mode automatically turn on when battery level reaches a certain %?
Or, have a shortcut created on notification tray instead of the Ultra Battery mode?
Guess there is no way?
Automatically I don't think so. Maybe if you're rooted and using something like Tasker or Trigger.

Add Widget - Settings Shortcut - Battery Saver - Open Widget and Set - Delete Widget.
Available Settings: Never; 5%; 15%.
They seem to have forgotten to put this in settings. Couldn't find it anywhere else.

Superb find!
Yeah, was using the z launcher from Nokia. So there were no setting shortcuts.
Found it in default launcher.
Thanks
This seems to be separate from the battery saving in Phone Manager. When it auto activates, the one in Phone Manager is still not activated.
No way to turn this off without the widget either once the battery is below the set %
Sorry but with stock launcher I don't find that widget. I am a bit confused
Short howto for stock launcher

Hi, I've enable battery saver with widget shotrcutut but apparently when battery reaches 15 precent saver doesn't start.
Any clue how it works on the P10? Because Battery Saver is not an option within the widget.
Yes unfortunately this widget is not present on the P10
Even with the latestest B162 firmware.... I am also looking for such a way to enable battery Saver
In the quick shortcut menu, there is one but for the Ultra Economy mode which is so pointless.....
There definitely is some sort of automatic power saver as when I bought my p10 it used to automatically turn on power saver when the battery dropped below 50%. The main bar at the top would turn orange to indicate that power saver mode was on. At the time it drove me crazy and I spent ages trying to figure out how to turn it off. Now I can't remember how I did it or how to turn that function back on. It was on Android 7.0 though and now I'm on 8.0a so perhaps it was a Google OS setting somewhere....
I installed QuickShortcutMaker (it's all one word, I think) and then went to add a shortcut.
On my Mate 10 Pro I searched for saver, and it offered the screen where auto battery saving would kick in at 15%, or 5% or never.
Battery's not low enough yet to test if it actually works, though.
That app is really good for revealing hard to find settings.

Question Always on display battery drain

Hi, haven't had a Pixel for a long time (last one was a 4 XL) so pardon my Aly question
Brand new Pixel 7 Pro, charged at 100% and went to bed with AOD on, woke up after 7h with 92% battery: is this normal?
PS: I'm used to Xiaomi 13 Pro with AOD off using almost 0% overnight.
Thx
I'd be very surprised if a phone really consumed 0% over 7 hours, WITH AOD on. Infinite battery life?
That said, sounds about normal, especially until the system sets.
I believe Xiaomi is sort of cheating with batt %, since in the morning stays at 100% even after 15 mins of usage
By the way, I disabled AOD and will test tonight.
Happy to be back to a Pixel though
Also note that if you put it face down on a flat surface it will activate DND, and do try the bedtime mode since it reduces battery consumption.
How do you enable bedtime mode?
Look in settings, it's under Digital Wellbeing
Thx
Battery will adjust with use, it consumes quite a bit more than normal the first few days.
Once it adjusted, for me it went down to 0.6-0.7%/hr. That was before I started installing apps though!
What about charging speed?
Is there a switch to turn on/off adaptive charging to have quicker charging during the day?
Nope, you have to settle for it. For me, it's fast enough to be honest...

Great for long term battery life.
Xiaomi gives me a new phone for free every quarter, who cares

It's not cheating really. Just their charging "design". If you keep a Xiaomi phone on a charger even after it charges 100%, it actually charges a bit more than 100% you just can't see it. So, from 100% to 99% is like not actually 1% of battery capacity but like 3-4-5%.

Disable global power management; it never did work right. Find the power hogs and deal with each on a case by case basis.
If you find the source(s) of the excessive drain and correct them, the excess battery usage disappears immediately. Close apps before you put the device in sleep mode.
Developer options > standby apps, if all buckets show as active global power management is disable. If various bucket states exist and/or those states can be altered, it is active. It can't be disable here; power management settings. Altering background battery usage in the individual app settings doesn't invoke global power management...
