anyone know how to fix it? i tried some way, which is from the windowsXP help and support center. i've done everything but still the same. i took it to some stalls and asked if they can fix it,and they have no clue D:
HELP HELP T_T
Ummm, I guess you tried soft reset?
And / or hard reset?
So its not recoginised at all then. Um try going to device manager and then uninstalling the driver and then press scan for new hardware and see it will reinstall correctly.
Before this reboot the computer and phone and try again as Bodisson said, that normally does it tbh
Ummmm.... maybe you could also try reinstalling ActiveSync on PC.... before SR/HR...
I have the exact same problem. I can charge but no data connection.
Tried on different computers and OSes. No luck.
I'll try to check if any pin got damaged.
where can i get the drivers for it?
If problem is only on your PC, try following:
Uninstall ActiveSync. Reboot PC. Reinstall ActiveSync (ver 4.5 - do NOT keep any previous settings for it).
That should normally be enough.
Also be careful: Similar thing can occur if you're syncing with more than one PC!
Device is sometimes recognized, but you can't sync at any time.
If problem occurs on other PCs too, then I'm afraid you have to go trough hard reset procedure.
If even that does not help, I'm afraid it's repair center time...
I had this problem, the only way for me to solve it was to have it sent to the repair centre, they changed the mainboard, and since you say that you have flashed it you havn't got any Warranty left.
I have an official Windows 7 PRO, and I use it since july with Win 7 RC and I don't know why but I have the exact same problem for 2 days now !!!
It worked fine and then, out of nowhere, now i got usb connection problem !!!
I did at least 10 hard reset, and it's the same problem on the lab top of my wife!!
Ok, so I have been having a very annoying issue(s) recently with my SGH-I997R, ( Firmware version 2.3.3, Baseband version I997RUXKG3, Kernel Ver: 2.6.32.7-I997RUXKG3-CL366622)
This all started out of the blue about a month ago, I used to connect my phone to my PC all the time for transferring items via Mass Storage, and then on day when I went to connect it to my same PC, I got " USB Device Not Recognized". It will charge the phone but will not connect or show any option on the phone to connect. I have tried 2 Samsung cables and a generic Micro USB cable, No change. I tried connecting to my laptop, same issue. I re-downloaded the drivers from Samsung onto both my usual PC and Laptop, no change. Very very frustrating.
Other issues, I don't know if their related in any way but they all started at the same time.
a) if I place my phone in airplane mode i cannot get it out of that mode without rebooting my phone
b) if i shut my phone down (doesn't matter if battery shows 100% or 25%) I cannot get the phone to turn on without plugging in the USB cable.
c) When I leave my phone charging overnight and look at it in the morning, battery shows 100% but also shows "NO SERVICE" , I reboot the phone with the cable still connected, service restored.
IF anyone has had these issues Especially the connecting to PC issue, Please PLEASE help. I am going nuts. And of course this all happened 3 months after the warranty expired, so both Rogers and Samsung will not help without $$$$$.
have you tried to back up your data, take out any micro sd card and perform a factory reset under /settings/privacy/reset ?
or open it up and look inside for any problems like corrosion?

I have done a factory reset numerous times from both the /settings/privacy/reset, and from booting it up holding the volume keys and doing a reset that way.
And I have had my phone since day one in a Ballistic Hard Core Series case, I take it out once a week to ensure its clean and free of dust/moisture (I work in construction so I try to keep it a clean as possible.) and my phone still looks like its brand new.
Thanks for the response though,
Update:
So just as an update for anyone out there who may be able to assist me with this very annoying issue, the Phone is still doing the same things, and since the last post i've also replaced the battery to see if for some strange reason it might help.
But to no avail.
As well I dont think i mentioned that this phone is rooted. I want to try unrooting it to see if that will correct the issue, but with not being able to connect the phone via usb to the computer, I have NO IDEA on how I can accomplish this. Any help???
Hi all!
Does anyone know how to deal with a strange bug I'm experiencing after the 4.4 update?
Basically, if my device (Galaxy Note GT-N8010) is on and I try to charge it via the PC, nothing happens and I cannot charge it, but when I switch off the device I can easily charge it.
I also tried full reset and reflash, but the problem is still there.
Transfers, sync, Kies work fine, so I think I can exclude a PC related issue.
Any help is appreciated.
I was watching a video on my phone when all my apps made a pop-up saying "Unfortunately *app* has stopped working". This happened for every app, I tried to factory reset from recovery mode because I couldn't access Settings, but when I did the factory reset nothing changed and the problem persisted. I decided to just leave the phone and the next day it wouldn't turn on at all no matter what and when I tried to charge it and left it for two hours it seemed as if it wasn't charging because the temperature of the phone or the charger didn't change so I came to the conclusion that my phone is bricked. When I plug the phone in by USB to a computer, the computer makes the connected sound.

Any Updates on what happened with your phone?
Hello. Your phone uses MTK Cpu? (You can see in gsmarena and if ur cpu for example is MTxxxx)
If yes then install VCOM drivers for your phone on pc (works well on windows xp) after that see if pc finds your device or not (in device manager u can see that) if the pc finds it and there are no problems u can flash it with SP-Flashtool .
and if no, it means there is an hardwere problem (it happens when phone falls on ground and etc...)
You can find a guid on internet for flashing your phone
Sorry i didnt explaind everything and sorry for my bad english

Hello everyone!!
I have got a P20 and everything was working right until yesterday that I realised I coundn't transfer files via MTP. Suddenly, no message about changing mode from charging to transfer when connecting the cable. I hard reseted the phone and it was working. Today, I reconnected it and the same strange behaviour occurs. The phone charges normally, though. Has anyone else this problem? It began to happen after some application updates I think.
Thank you alot!
Hi, I'm having the same issue, file transfer is VERY difficult.
Alternatively, I would have these issues:
- Phone doesn't even show in My Computer
- Phone will show but I can't browse its content
- Phone allows me to browse, I strat copying a file, then is stops randomly in the middle of the transfer. I have to unplug/replug several times for it to work poorly again.
I haven't managed to transfer several big files in a row with issues (like a full season of a show for example).
After trying with a different cable, it may be the source of the issue.
I was using a non-branded cable.
Hello, the same issue here.
P20 lite is in File transfer mode and randomly changes to Charging via USB.
I even switched off the display sleep, but without any success...
Please help.
Hi guys! I had the same problem and could not find a solution ... You will not believe me:
I searched different forums and videos on YouTube and tried everything without success (as it happened to you), I even communicated to HiCare via chat to inform them my problem and they made me do a factory reset, which didn't work either. Desperate, I contacted HiCare again and they asked me to give them my device and they would return it to me within 3 or 4 weeks!
I almost cried, in a last video of a old Peruvian man, talked about the static and how it prevents the electric charges of the phones, and can even get to charge (slow), but without file transfer. The solution: remove the battery ... obviously we cannot do that without going to the technical service and that gave me the last reason to send my device to technical support.
Buuuuuuut ... in another video a guy removes fluff from his cell phone with a clip or a pin to remove the static from his Motorola XPlay, I tried it on my P20 and I almost got a kilogram of fluff and dirt. Now you see the metal connectors (they were black) and when connected, almost magically, it worked! THAT WORKED!
