Full hd videos (720p - 1880p) are not able to play in core but tab 2 has the power to play, Even it has poor configuration than the core [ compared via cpu-z].
However my brother's tab kicked my core.
I tried so many ways to play hd videos without mx. I hacked the tab's player, system ui, firmwares, etc.
My core became tab 2 (as much possible) but it even not to play an hd :'(
Geniuses, please help me and others. Thanks in advance.

In no possible way, or fortunate day can core play HD videos no matter what tweaks you will do, the reason is this ability of playing videos is governed not by CPU but the Video/Graphics Card of the phone. You obviously cannot change Core's hardware and play HD :3

Hi all.
I purchased this device mostly to be used as a companion for when I stream to Justin.TV. This website uses both flash video and java at the same time. I want to monitor my video stream and the chat while I play. I know I could of got a netbook for this, but I would like the tablet for doing other things.
Some streams with lower quality work good for me, but my stream does not play. The stream will freeze, but I am able to hear the audio. My stream is in flash and is 720p, 3000kbps, H.264.
I tried some other 720p flash video and received the message "Video Not Optimized For Mobile Device". (Uh, yeah, that's why I bought a tablet and not a phone). Obviously this is because of the Android OS and not the hardware?
So I am half-happy because I can see the chat, but not the video. Is there anything I can do to help this? I am running TnT 2.2.0 with the flash player linked to in the thread.
If this can't be fixed for now, does anyone think it will be resolved in the future? Perhaps a better Flash apk that supports the Tegra better? Or would I be better with the new Viewsonic Viewpad?
Thanks
A lot of this is bleeding edge. We are using a phone OS that has been modded for tablets and not supported by Google (yet). And, the Tegra itself is relatively new and has had issues because of it.
In six months, I expect that a lot of these issues with be old news. But for now, it's a problem.
Which browser are using? Have you tried Dolphin HD and changed the User Agent to desktop?
For my stream I get the same results with the default browser and Dolphin HD, but for some reason with Dolphin HD I am forced to the mobile site every time. Even with user agent set to Desktop. So I can't try the HD flash video with Dolphin.
There is no mobile version of my stream.
Based on roebeet's post, I guess i'll stick it out and hope it gets better. I am already somewhat happy because I can run Ventrilo and see the chat at the same time. That's already more than my iPad can do.
Now if I can just get the USB keyboard working.
Thanks for the replies.
I'm considering dropping my iPhone and moving over to the Infuse. That large screen is calling to me.
I have a Nook Color that I have rooted and installed Gingerbread on (thanks to this site) and I really like it. My first question is about Flash and Hulu.com. On my Nook I was able to install a cracked version of Flash that allows me to go directly to Hulu.com and play the videos there in browser. Is that possible on the Infuse?
And my other question was is this phone capable of 1080p playback. My old 3Gs just can't handle it and the Nook will chug along but playback is very slow. I have several videos that are 1080p that I would like to play without having to convert them all first. I saw another thread that the device could play them but not after it had been rooted. Which I guess I'll have to do if I want to play Hulu files.
Thank you.

Yes it has some ability to play 1080p. Actually more than some Tegra2 dual core devices.
So despite the year old processor it is still able to compete. And Samsung has been putting in multiple codec support and support for mkv sinse the original galaxy s 2 years ago. Multimedia is their area of specialty on phones. Not every 1080 p file will play but you may be able to transcode them to a lower class or bitrate or change the audio encoding which I find is most often the problem on files that don't play.
Also the browser while not the smoothest has a user agent setting accessable in the address bar by typing " about:useragent" just replace the lib for the flashplayer with one that is hex edited to look like the windows flash player and set useragent to desktop ( you can even make your own if you have issues) and clear your cookies and enjoy.
Oh. I thought Hulu had plugged that loop hole/browser trick. At least it didn't work on my Nook.

I thought so too but there are still people with hulu threads. I think when new versions of flash come out they need to work to identify the illegal users again. Also you need to make surecookies are cleared. And it may have something to do with the device as well. They may have a block list but some new devices may sneak through provided the flash player look right but I'm not sure what their servers can actually see.
Guess that puts me in a wait and see category. I was kinda hoping I could just install something like the CM7 mod and then a cracked version of flash like I did on my Nook. That works perfectly.
Thank you for the advice.
You should know that 1080p video playback only works on official AT&T or Froyo-based Infuse ROM's. The current Gingerbread ROM's don't have 1080p support (although the leaked KI3/4 supposedly do, they're not custom ROM's and may have other issues). Also, non-Samsung ROM's like CM7 won't have any of Samsung's hardware-accelerated media codecs (ie. MKV). Even so, playback is going to be affected by bitrate: if the bitrate of a file is too high, you'll either have problems seeking or it won't play at all. If the audio track is an unsupported format (ie. FLAC in an MKV container), you can use MX Video Player and set it to use S/W audio decoding.
As for Hulu, you should be able to get by with hex editing the version in your Flash libraries to the latest Windows/Chrome Flash version, and then setting your useragent in your phone's browser. I haven't tried this recently, but it was still working on my Captivate a month ago.
Well that's cool. If I can get Hulu to work without rooting then I'll be happy. I'll probably leave it stock then so I get the most out of video playback. Thank you very much for te help.

You'll need to root if you want to modify the Flash libraries within the system Flash apk. Otherwise, you'll have to reapply the modified Flash library every time you reboot the phone.
I just got my Transformer on Christmas. It was a Black Friday model, and I updated to the latest OTA since, at the last I had read, the root method asked for "the latest firmware." Oops. No root for me. Anyway, I have loaded up multiple episodes of multiple series of 720p subtitled anime MKVs. They all run terribly, stuttering and stumbling along, not keeping up in the least. I've tried using both QQPlayer (my old standby) and every other MKV compatible player on the Market. My old single-core Droid Incredible could handle these will significantly fewer stutters, and my new Rezound dominates them. Heck, even my Android-rigged HP Touchpad didn't blink. So, what's the deal? Is this normal?
EDIT: I've tried this off internal memory and the dock's SD card (class 10). No discernable difference. Tried on a fresh boot too for maximum available memory. Still no difference.

Video playback is disappointing for me too
I tried to view a video in tegra zone and couldn't even play that... Even tegra zone is making this tegra device look bad lol
Then I tried to find a game called Real Racing 2 HD and it's not compatible....
So much for one of the top Android tablets.. .
Give BSPlayer Lite a go. It has hardware decode for TF. It plays 720P mkv on my TF smoothly. It is free too.
Can you try to view the video preview for The Dark Meadow in the tegra zone game section with bsplayer and let us know how you go.
I couldn't watch it and it's an mp4 video

Cannot find the preview video. Only found a few images in there.
Note: I am using the Revolver ROM that has the Tegra Game Zone removed, I went to the Market to re-install it. Don't know if it is the reason for not seeing the video.
Did the game you selected show a black icon?
Would be good if we can find a common 720p video we can all test to confirm if it just doesn't work on any Transformer regardless of ROM, h/w version, viewer, etc.
My TF is rooted and I tried with CPU at normal level then up to 1400 and it was the same

Yeah. Black icon, coming 2012. Is it the one?
If you can upload the video to one of the file sharing service, like rapidshare or fileserve, I can download it and let you know the result.
Alternatively, you can just install BSPlayer and the ARM7 codec and try it yourself. It is free.

Ive possibly posted this a squillion times .. and im suprised it doesnt offer a more obvious fix but as ^^ above says "BSPlayer" is THE ONLY player ive used that will play 99% of movie files without hitch ... Including mkv's
IMO the only player youll need... and it is indeed free .. however i'd recommend a nice donation
Yeah I tried BSPlayer, Mobo, MX & the stock player and none of them would play it.
I'll see if I can take a video with my phone and try downloading the video somehow.
I appreciate the response(s). I'll try BS Player soon. Note that we can again, I'll be rooting, ROMing, and overclocking soon. We'll see how that helps. I just wanna use my tablet mostly for anime, internet, and some gaming. Basically, a bigger screen than my Rezound lol

Hi,
I have a p6210 running a rooted stock odexed ICS 4.0.4 UELPC (us XARLPC).
My first problem is that the device lags and stutts when I navigate between the menus like for exemple the apps drawers or the control panel, or when I scroll.
It seems to come from the hw acceleration since it lags as well when I watch videos (on both audio and video) and the only way to overcome this is to use mx player with sw audio and sw video settings.
I tried to tweak my build.prop with various values, enable hw acceleration, force gpu etc. but nope, it still lags and actually it gets worse so I went back to the default values.
I tried as well in the dev. options in the tab settings to force gpu but no results either.
The second issue is battery drain, my once long lasting tab has seen is autonomy reduced by approx. 50%, not nice.
The third issue, that might be related to the second, is that the tab heats more than it did previously.
Any idea or help will be highly appreciated, thanks in advance!
Well i didn't experienced this in my galaxy tab plus. Im using a stock 4.0.4 without root. Im not into rooting anymore because i experience bricked and some hack problems when root.

I didn't experience such problems either. Did you delete/modify anything in system after rooting? Just rooting can not not harm your phone/tablet.
I deleted the gapps plus all the samsung bloatware but I don't think it's what causes the lags.
I deleted as well some permissions, lib and framework files like facelock recognition, network locator, google maps, minimode etc. but I have put them back and it still lags.
I think it's a hw acceleration problem, and I have seen elsewhere on the net that I'm not the only one experiencing such problem, other people complain as well about video and hw acceleration on games to have hickups.
When I tweaked my build prop to enable hw then it got worse, and the only way to have videos running without too many lags is to use sw decoding.
The same with mp3s, I had to enable audio buffer and audio thread priority, otherwise it skips like hell.
When I compare with my galaxy mini, whose specs are far lower but where everything is smooth, it's like day and night, even scrolling on the tab has hickups.
I may try v6 supercharger, but I'm not very confident about it since I used it on my galaxy mini without any noticeable effects...

Hey there, its been bothering me.
When I play games, such like asphalt, batman, and subway surfer, the tab get heated after wuite a long time. About more than 20+ minutes.
But when i am using stock browser or dolphin browser, the tab get heated much faster.
Anyone know why does this happens? Does thisnmean that browsers use more CPU compared to games(asphalt uses internet too, also scrabble).
Please and thank you!

Hi all, so I bought a TV Box
http://www.ebay.com/itm/111155242479?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
And I am just completely disappointed. XBMC addons are unusable, everything lags. Playing 720p video in MX Player makes it slightly lag. My Nexus S from 2010 can play 720p just fine. I made sure I checked all the settings, lowered the output resolution to 720p at 50fps and it still lags. Even typing text lags. At this point, my TV Box is completely useless. Did I just buy a horrible box or am I missing something?
A question for all owners of various boxes - what software do you use? How did you set it up? Does it work?
Thanks!
Try a different power source, dont power the device through the TV USB. it seems RK devices underperform when they are underpowered.
The worst it can be is a fake device, still the freaktab community can help you identify the board and give you any rom that performs better.
