[Q] HTC one SV and ViperSV 1.5.0 - HTC One SV

Hi all totally new to this and please forgive me if this has been asked previously.
I have a HTC one SV which is not playing the game and sticks on start up.
I've got it unlocked but still have S-ON and HBOOT is 2.21.00 see attached file.
I have downloaded viperSV 1.5 but on checking the md5 against the one in the treat it is different
Thread says it should be MD5: 58afef22e451193e9a49f5248c36fd8a and when I check the one I can download it says b1e62ac4bf10e2d01a05dd58d7e5054a.
I can get it to install but then the phone has a black screen with a few icons at the top and that's all.
Any any help would be very much appreciated

And wth are your device buttons red???

Hi thanks for getting back
File size is 870 MB and I've tried it on a couple of pc/browsers but all give the same
The screen was replaced and the bottom 3 buttons ie < etc are red if that is what you mean.
Since tried to use abd to try and s-off but will not see device but will in fastboot????
Was going to try and get your RUU_K2_UL_ICS_40.......exe flashed but cant push it as abd does not recognize device.
Many thanks for any help

You can't flash the RUU, because your firmware is higher than the one from the RUU.
Missing OS line in bootloader is probably a bug in TWRP recovery.
Does your phone boot to an OS actually? Do you have latest TWRP recovery on your phone?
Did you try to download another, stock rom for your phone?

I've had it boot into ViperSV eventually but when I try to unlock the screen, the phone freezes.
Version of TWRP is 2.7.0.1
I've tried it on k2ul_4.2.2_3.11.401.1_stock_odexed_v3. Put it on to sdcard and installed it through TWRP and then flashed the boot.img with fastboot etc. Just goes to a blank screen with the time, battery icon and signal icon in the top right hand corner as in picture.

You checked the md5 of stock rom too?

No haven't done that didn't see what it should be checked against. Do you know where I can find what it should be?
Cheers

Its written on the download page on dev-host.
For k2ul it should be: MD5 Sum: f1d202a37e7362853438aac827887291
I have two things that come in my mind:
- first thing is, that you can try to restore a k2ul backup from TWRP recovery.
This is the most easiest way to go back on a working rom. If this also fails...
-...the second thing comes in my mind. Tell us about your screen replacement. How long is it ago, where did you get it from, did you do it yourself and so on.

@old.splatterhand, my buttons are red too
Well, a orange/reddish color lol.
What color was yours? I had assumed they all were like that haha?

I know, boost are the only red ones. Others are white. And thats the point, where the problem is (i think).
This is k2ul with red buttons, which means the screen is not the one who should be on the phone. My guess is, that some drivers (or something else of firmware) are not compatible to this screen, and thats the reason, even the stock rom does not work.
Only a suggestion, but not the first phone which shows such behavior.

Boost is special bahahaha

[Q] HELP HELP How to Unbrick My Sensation

I rooted my sensation using the revolutionary method to get S=OFF and decided to put the phone back to S=ON so I could sell it and buy the new Galaxy S2 when it comes out this month.
I went through the process on the development forum to get S=ON and I used the correct RU file for TMOUS.
I made sure the CID was properly set using fastboot and it was set to TMOB010 so I could not flash to wrong RU file.
I flashed the RU file and it flashed fine and said the process completed with no errors.
I used the proper fastboot command to write the secureflag to 3 and the HBoot screen showed S=OFF and so far so good.
I rebooted the phone and the TMobile Sens ROM booted up fine to the home screen.
I shut the phone off figuring the process had been completed fine and when I turned the phone on an hour later, it booted to the HBoot screen with a "security warning" message.
Now all the phone will do is boot to the HBoot screen, I tried to re-flash the RU file like the forum stated but I keep getting a battery low error even with a fully charged battery.
Now all I have is a phone that only boots to the HBoot screen with a "security warning message"
The HBoot version is showing the following:
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.17.0008
RADIO-10.11.9007.15.M
eMMC-boot
I hope I do not have a 300 dollar paper weight, any help would be appricetd please.

It's not bricked if you can turn it on... I can't help you much though... Seeing you got S-ON, maybe you could try to get S-OFF again and then start over?

I may sound like a noob, but I never used the PM function on this site. I am so frustrated I want to throw the dam thing through the wall.
I can't understand why I keep getting the battery is below 30% error every time I try and run the RU file to re-flash the ROM. I have tried two different fully charged batteries with no luck.
Thank god I have my G2x and my Nexus S as backups, at least they be rooted and un-rooted very easily, unlike this POS.
If your H-Boot now reads S=On, technically there is no evidence to suggest that you have done anything, unless they can find a problem some other way, as you have said you used the correct ROM and CID. So you could try and return the handset under warranty. Someone correct me if im wrong
I also tried copying the RU programs rom.zip file and renaming it to PG581MG.zip and putting in on the SD card and tried flashing it through the Hboot screen but it scrolls thru the file and never ask me if I want to apply the update.
The fastboot function is probably enabled in the stock ROM i flashed and I am stuck in the HBoot screen. I am totally stumped.
Anyone out there willing to try and get this thing operational. I will pay you for your trouble as long as you are trustworthy.

1.try different battery
2. Can you go into recovery? If yes try wiping from there. Also I believe in hboot there is factory reset option
3. Discharge battery and charge it up.again

I appreciate the info, I have tried everything I know and I am stuck on the HBoot screen. I am going to try a different battery and try letting the original completely discharge and re-charge it and go from there. This is last sensation I am going to buy, I have never in all my years of rooting phones had a product that is a pain in the ass like this one has been.
Shame on HTC, what is the point of having an android product if not to root it and flash a custom ROM. I paid full retail for the thing with my hard earned money so I should be able to do with it what I want too.
I came over from the Nexus S and never had this many problems and complicated procedures going back to the stock ROM.
I am back to my G2x, at least I can easily root and un-root it and it runs the CM7 just fine. Not like the HTC POS.

I finally fixed it!!!
I did have the right file name PG58IMG, but I kept getting an error when I tried to flash it through HBoot when the zip file was loading i.e. invalid image, no image found etc.
I tried the other RU file for TMOUS and extracted the rom.zip, renamed it and flashed it and it finally took and I am up and running.
I apologize for being upset but this was the longest time I ever spent trying to recover a phone, but I have learned allot from this experience and have taken some great notes and will put them in a thread when I get some free time.
Thanks to everyone out there who helped me through this.

I am having the exact same problem from doing the EXACT same thing you did. My HBOOT, radio and everything else is exactly the same as yours as well. So my question is, was the RUU that worked properly for the older T-Mobile one? RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.29.531.2_Radio_10.42.9007.00P_10.11.9007.15_M_release_193714 <-- This one??
Hi. I have similiar problem, but I can't extract zip file from RUU. With HD2 RUU I could unpack it with WINRAR, but with Sensation RUU there is no such option.
How did you extract rom.zip file from RUU... .exe file?
I am stuck at the same place can you please tell me how to extract the zip file from ruu and what is called I would really appreciate it

Run the executable up to the initial screen and leave it open. Then open My Computer and browse to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp and you will see a folder with a long random looking name like {17ad63h46f09a0c883058}. Open this folder and you will see a heap of files - images for branding, scripts and the like, as well as a file called rom.zip. Open this file and in it will be radio.img, which you can extract and rename as PG58IMG.zip.
This is how I extracted the stock radio from my Telstra RUU anyway.

Don't know exactly where you coming from and going to, 4.53 to 4.54? But something and that has been working and continued for me.
This ruu.exe is ran from the PC through usb debugging enabled, and having the correct drivers installed, I am on xp so I ran latest drivers maually, for higher o/s ver. its going to regonized the android and try to install autmatically....press stop/cancel you will need to configure it manually to have it install the correct drivers.
assuming you done this already, then enable settings>applic>develop>usb-deb and device powered on to home screen, from pc just double click the .exe and go through simple menu's and continue to process.
good luck and hope it helps..
latest Drivers
RUU4.54
Thank football!!!!

it should!!!
brad
my dilemma is that I have a rooted evo running a synergy rom on Hboot .79 and Radio 1.39
thing is that the s status is S-ON on this particular phone and unrevoked forever does not work on that radio version.
I've tried to upgrade the radio through clockwork recovery with the prepackaged zip yet when I reboot the phone still shows the old radio version.
I've tried installing an RUU from the PC but they all error out.
I'm looking for an RUU packaged in an install-able .zip that includes updated Radios Kernels Hboot and ROM in one. Is that even possible so i can fix this phone and get it some updated radios?!

So I know you say it "should" but I don't want to RUU and then still have my batman logo as my splash screen, that would suck. I would ave to re-root it to try and find a splash .img, but I guess I will try it out and see if it works.

I have the opposite issue. I have S-OFF (Revolutionary) but on stock unrooted (brought the phone to Sprint for a broken power button, and they ended up not fixing it, but flashed 4.53 stock rooted).
How the hell do I get this ROM rooted since Revolutionary doesn't want to root it because the bootloader is unlocked and I can't go to recovery because once I'm on the HTC white background fastboot screen, the volume button are locked and my power button is dead anyway...
I'm trying this Ruu .exe hoping it will give me S-ON but I'm doubtful it will happen...
EDIT: Just as I thought, I'm now on stock rooted 4.54 with S-OFF. And no power button

They will always update the splash screen, it helps to identify the firmware and rom versions at a glance. During install the setup program will create a temp folder with PC36IMG.zip or update.zip look in this zip file and you should see a splash.img file or something like that (sorry haven't looked HTC updates since my Hero Days).

Hi guys, yesterday i tried to root my desire hd and flash a rom called icecoldsandwich 8.5, i started my phone and it got stuck at the bootlogo from ics. just download a ruu that is only for your device but be careful ( branded ones and unbranded)
then just put it in fastboot via bootloader and flash it and it will boot up

If you read what they posted, they cannot get to the boot menu. I have a RUU program designed to run remotely from my computer over USB that works wonders if I ever have a problem. I could find the stock .img for your phone and send you the program where you would just plug your phone in over USB, run the program, locate your RUU file (which would be included) and your done. Should be back to normal, worked for me when I accidentally bootlooped. PM me for more info. This will require you to re-root your phone.

Can't flash a ROM. Help!

I can get it to get into recovery mode, but it wont go any further than the red lettered warning banner. I tried to flash the ROM from the clockwork mod app from the market. No luck. My phone is not in the list of phones in the "Flash clockwork mod recovery". I tried to flash the 5.8.4.0 endeavoru.img file to my phone, but in my command prompt on my computer, it doesn't recognize my command as a batch command or anything. Any help folks? I was trying to find a stick on rooting, unlocking bootloader, and then flasing roms, but to my surprise I didn't find them all in one. I don't know what I'm doing wrong at this point. Spent a few hours last night, and now it all seems like a blur. Help please!

Do some research first because seems like u don't have even a custom recovery or even roooted... Now also never install anything that says endeavour or you will **** up your phone enough said...now do u have att one x or rogers telstra
WOAH, STOP RIGHT THERE.
endeavoru.img IS THE WRONG IMAGE!!!! I can smell a brick!!! the endeavoru image is for the quad core tegra one x. I am assuming you have a OneXL or one of the other Qualcomm DUAL CORE One X's
Our phone is called EVITA.
If you have a non ATT one x like a Telstra One XL or rodgers go to htcdev website.
If you have a ATT version I have recently found out that some versions cannot be rooted, and root is needed to unlock the bootloader. If it has ATT logo on the top where HTC should be, then you need to know the version number of your current rom before putting in any more effort to unlock. Check settings>about phone>
Check the forum in the One X Android Development/[INDEX] AT&T/ROGERS One X Resources Compilation Roll-Up (Updated 10/2/12) for the versions that can be rooted/unlocked.
Hope this helps
-Liam
mine is the ATT version......
My phone isn't bricked yet...phew. SO....going to get the EVITA then. right? for ATT version?
First thing is first you need to know the version of the stock rom you have, go to settings/about phone, I believe that if your version is greater than 1.85 then you are pretty screwed. You can only wait until A) ATT allow unlocking B) someone finds an exploit. If your One X is brand new, I doubt it is 1.85 as this is an old version.

Many phones are still being sent out with 1.85/1.73:angel: and to op DONT use clock word mod oonce you root and unlock bootloader I will show u which recovery to flash
WOW, Thats good. Ours are shipped with the latest, well at least my sisters one was. I thought she would have been screwed, But I was able to unlock with HTCDEV
@omario8484, is there a reason for not using CWM? I have it on my OneXL. I got the touch version, TWRP is good I guess, but I am more familiar with the CWM interface.

If you flash some roms with cwm, they sometimes will have serious problems. Twrp works with very Rom perfectly fine.

Yes use twrp because USB mount works also some Tom's like he said will have problems
Ok, I got it all sorted. Out. My main problem is I didn't know what the goo interface let me do. Once I found out then it was cake from there. I'm loving this AOKP one so far.
I there a way to get to the play store that doesn't include using an internet browser?

Maybe the play store app?
I don't see a play store app in the app tray at all. and when I press the PLAY STORE option in the menu tray, it does nothing.

[Q] Stuck in ''entering recovery...'' htc one s

What's up everybody! This is my first post here and I am what you would call a noob!
First of all I got tired of the 4.2.2 jb upgrade never coming to my htc one s and decided to give cyanogenmod 10.1 a shot (my first attempt ever tampering with mobile software)!
So I have unlocked the bootloader on my phone following a guide. It now says ''unlocked''
After that, I have tried to flash the paul recovery.img from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583427 .
I have done it through adb with the command promt as it says on the article above!
The command promt apparently managed to do the job and it said ''finished'' as it should!
Then i rebooted the phone into recovery mode through the bootloader menu but it then stucks there doing nothing...I have left it for 5 minutes and it was still like that and i thought that the recovery wasn't succesful (i ve seen it going very fast at the clockworkmod menu at videos on youtube while mine was stuck). I then rebooted it by holding down the power button and it went to the sence screen normally.
Then i have tried the other recovery img described at the article...Same thing happened...Then the other one! Same thing again!
Every time i am trying to flash the recovery image the phone stucks in ''entering recovery...'' screen, doing nothing.
Am I doing something wrong?
Please help, it will be much appreciated! I really want to dig custom roms...I' m a total geek
Thanks in advance!!

To boot into recovery, Hold VolumeDown + Power.
Edit: maybe you've done that, but make sure that you choose the correct recovery version. that is, match the version of your phone S3/S4 with the recovery.
Specific recovery for specific phone.

Have the same problem (HTC one at&t) and that link he has that I clicked gives you a page of LIKE A WHOLE LIST of versions.. How do you know which one to choose?
plus spent all night trying to download the recovery.img from clockworkmod.com as well as other links and all I get is this LONG encrypted script page displayed, and not an actual FILE that prompts you to download. going crazy here!

The link works, i ve managed to do it but twrp is useless if you want to flash any roms...I have tried every known version of cm for htc one s and I can't flash any of them in my phone through the twrp recovery...Always fails for no apparent reason! If you want my advise, do not waste your time, cause it's almost certain that ig you flash any custom rom, you will loose the advantages of htc sense, including the camera performance and special effects and also the beautiful widgets...If anyone though knows how to flash a REALLY nice rom with twrp we will be glad to hear his/her suggestions!

sad part is I'm not going for anything fancy.. When I bought the phone (last week) it had version 4.1 on there and all I want to do is upgrade it to 4.2... and no it's NOT available through AT&T in anyways what's so ever.. hence the flash recovery chaos.
If no one response with a solid solution, then I'm just gonna let it be like you said.

Tell me what do you want to do to your phone?
State in points, easy for me
blah
No it wont affect.
By the way, TWRP recovery has been the most successful one with The One S.
Google twrp and Download it for VILLE (THE S4 MODEL HTC ONE S) and then flash it.
