hi, I just bought a used htc inspire 4g, the guy how sold it to me told me that I just need it to do a hard rest and the phone will be good to go
I did the hard reset and the phone stays on th htc withe screen, a need to remove the batery for the phone to turn of
the phone does star up but its locked, i have the emei unlock code but wen I enter the code the phone says succssesfully unlock but wen the phone restarts its stays on the htc withe screen
I´ve been browsing arround and I thing it has a corrupt rom or something like that
I dont have the memory with any of the roms or anything like that
can I restore my phone to the original settings or how can I fix the problem?
thanks!
Well, I'm at a loss but let's see where this goes until someone else who knows joins the thread
While the phone is off press and hold the volume down button and while holding it down press the power button.
Wanna see if you get a few options there or if it boots normally.

OK, download the att ruu, and from that boot screen.(where it shows pvt son, hboot etc) plug in your phone to PC and run the orogram. Links to the ruu can be found in the sticky above(stuck in boot/white screen read this) you'll want the last section

or
AT&T Inspire 4G - Gingerbread
edit: I thing its the AT&T Inspire 4G - Gingerbread because the radio numbers,
Its the same. The alternate method is flashing the ruu. And use the gb one.

Go to the HTC site, and in the support section download the GB update file (.exe). Boot into hboot (power + volume down) and then choose fastboot (you will see fastboot usb in red).
Then, let it work....that should flash the GB stock rom.
Just 1 piece of advice...NEVER INSTALL A FROYO RUU if your device was shipped with GB or you are not sure with what OS it came with....you will mess it further....

If ruu didn't work it doesn't look to good. You can try flashing the pd98img and maybe have better luck with that

Alright so I purchased a Sensation locally to replace my Infuse, of course the first thing I do is try and flash a custom ROM that's where I got stuck. The phone was already S-OFFed by the previous owner I'm assuming and already had recovery flashed. So I see this and downloaded an ICS ROM put it my SD card and flashed, all went well until I tried to turn it on, it was stuck on a boot cycle. So I went back into boot loader and did a factory reset, clear data. Downloaded another ICS rom and same thing. Now I tried to Google the answer and I'm pretty sure it's there but I don't seem to understand how to fix it.
This brings me to my point, I need assistance to get out of this situation, I want to have the latest recovery and to try and have everything working fine.
Do you have the correct firmware for Ics? It is 3.32. This might help.

Don't know, probably not.
Try wiping system also before you install the rom. (Some roms dont work if you wipe data after install before first boot.)

If you're not super CID yet, do it. Pretty easy. After that you can get any 3.32 firmware without getting into the hassle trying to find the one that suits your CID. After that, full wipe. Use the zip for ARHD ROM "android HD" or manually wipe each partition in 4ext. Then flash and your ROM Will certainly boot.

I wonder if it works from bootloader...enter bootloader "power button plus volume button down" and connect to adb...type adb devices, if it found the device, make superCID.
Or, Idk if you know your CID already...if you know it, head to the firmware thread and find a compatible 3.32..

Well...I'm on phone now and sadly I can't direct you to the needed threads :/ how about you Google it? You'll need android SDK, and small knowledge in windows cmd prompt. Search on Google and include xda with your search term.
Or wait here for Q/A contributers, they're pretty good.

I actually know how, correct me if I'm wrong but its this right?
4. open command prompt (or terminal for linux) and type "cd" "followed by the path to your adb folder" (windows users can type "cd C:\adb")
5. Ensure your phone is switched on (regular home screen) and connect it by USB in charging mode (Ensure usb debugging is on settings)
6. enter the command "adb devices". This is to confirm your phone is connected. (It should come back with list of devices attached and your serial number)
7. enter the command "adb reboot-bootloader". (nothing further required device WILL reboot in bootloader)

Download this: http://www64.zippyshare.com/v/66813266/file.html
Rename it to PG58IMG.zip
Put it on your SD Card, but not inside any folder, just on the root of the SD Card.
Reboot your phone to bootloader by holding the volume down + power button
Once booted, it will detect the file & ask you if you want to install it.
Select yes by pressing vol up button.
After install is complete, it will ask you to press power to reboot, but before you do, take out the SD Card from the phone and then reboot.
If you are stuck in bootloop, then pull out the battery.
Then boot to your recovery through bootloader.
Perform a full wipe.
Install your ROM again.
You will lose data, but there is no other option. This will fix your problem. If not, you should check the MD5 of the ROM you downloaded. There could have been some problem with the download.

Hey guys,
Just bought the HTC One X and I have no idea what to do. I know how to fastboot since I have been using the Galaxy Nexus, but I am not sure what to do with the phone right now. It boots in to the HTC logo, and then turns off and then keeps doing that. I can get into fastboot mode and use it but I have no idea what files to use. It was originally with Rogers I believe, and then it was unlocked. So if anyone can help me that would be great! I do not care about losing files or anything, I just want to fix this. Please can someone help
I am on a Mac, but if I need to be on a windows computer I will,
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!!!

PC Instructions (since RUUs don't work on macs)
1. Get to your bootloader (hboot)
2. Select the FASTBOOT option, you should now be in the fastboot menu
3. Make sure you have HTC sync installed on your pc (for drivers and such...this should probably be step 1)
4. Plug your phone into your computer, FASTBOOT should turn into FASTBOOT USB once you have the drivers installed
5. Relock your bootloader if it is unlocked using the command 'fastboot oem lock'
6. Run the RUU
7. Go make yourself some coffee while you wait for it to complete (it takes like 10-15 minutes)
Did you get it fixed? If not try to take some help from niceppl and 18th.abn

Was running RootBox, s-off, etc, and everything was working. Suddenly phone froze and rebooted. But ever since it won't get past the htc startup screen. It just keeps rebooting from there. I've RUU'd back to stock but it still does the same thing. I flashed a recovery and rebooted to recovery from fastboot but it won't get to it. Any ideas?
EDIT: after RUU back to stock, bootloader still will say s-off, not sure if it changed that in the past
