Sailfish OS port for Droid Ultra/Maxx ? - Droid Ultra Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello,
i wanted to ask if it is possible to port Sailfish OS on unlocked droid ultra/maxx devices.
The Hardware Adaption Kit for Sailfish was released some days ago. I can't program, neither am i an developer, so any chances that this could be ported, even if our devices has a custom soc (moto's x8 soc) ?
here are documentations for the hardware development kit etc.

[Q] (Q) How to port roms?

I have been looking at roms for my device for quite a while. Some are ports of s4 and xperia stock roms. How to port the latest version of android to my device? I read up on some guides and they all state that the port rom can be any working rom for my device and the base rom should be from any device which has a similar chipset. But there aren't many devices in the market with MTK6589 chipset and the existing ones don't have android 4.3. My question is , how did people manage to port the s4 stock rom to a mediate device. (the s4 has an exynos chipset). And how do people manage to port the latest android versions to their devices.
This may be a noob question but I searched through the forums and couldn't find anything much helpful.
PLS:I have some experience with Linux and its commands but don't know much of coding.

I think he doesn't mean that dual booting. I think he means dualbooting between different ROMs. Like for my S3 I got Dual booting with Siyah Kernel between CM10.1 and 4.1.2 Touchwiz. For S3 you have much kernels supporting dual boot. So you just need to find the right kernel for your device. I think there are much devices having these kernels!
To tell the truth, I was not sure if it is what @siddheshvartak was looking for.
So dual-boot/multiboot only Android:
- some Xperias have a multiboot: LINK to thread
- Lenovo A390 and few other Lenovo smartphones
- Nexus 4, 5, 7 (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tassadar.multirommgr)
That's all I know about it.
I'm sure there is much more multiboot/dualboot equipped smartphones.
yehhh
I was talking about dual boot between the ROMs.....

[Request] Slimkat for a6000.

I am really sorry for posting my request here.
I have read the rule that states not to post requests.
But, I really want a 32bit SlimKat ROM for a6000.
I am aware of other devices running official SlimRom that sport specs very similar to a6000 (lettuce & osprey to name a few).
However, no phone capable of running SlimKat - ported or official, has specs similar to a6000 (closest, I believe, would be Peregrine).
So, I am not asking for Official SlimRom support.
It would be a real honour if you would port SlimKat ROM to a6000 - Just once without any further updates or the like is more than enough.
I understand what is ask is more than just porting ROMs but this is my last hope.
I am really sorry.
If it is not possible to create a SlimKat for a6000,
would you please create one for a similar spec'ed phone?
There are numerous phones with similar hardware specifications -
Xiaomi Redmi 2, Samsung Galaxy J5, HTC Desire 510(EU Model), Moto G4 play, Moto G 2015, Moto E (2nd) (LTE model), etc.
So, if possible please port SlimKat to any one of these & I am sure some of our devs might be able to port it to my device.
Thank You.

[ASK] Sailfish OS for Android One Devices

I've saw Sailfish OS ported to many devices, even older one like Xperia series.
I'm curious if any Developers here have project for Android One, especially the 1st generation.
My questions:
1. Is there any Sailfish OS rom for Android One? in now or near future (is there any related links)
2. Can i flash the Sailfish OS from other images, like for Redmi 1, would it work?
3. If I only want to try this OS, which device you guys recommend me to buy, just for flash the image and get experience?
4. from 1 to 11. How hard it is to port Sailfish OS till get it to work?
(im just common people with no developing and scripting skillz)
Thank you so much if you guys reading this.
(yes. i have broken english)

Blackview P2 Custom Roms?

Hello guys, I have an Blackview P2 (with MT6750T Chipset) that has as newest update an Android 7.0, but Blackview never released the sources, does that mean it is impossible to see any custom Roms for it ever like Android 7.1.2 or 8.1.0? Or is it somehow possible to port such Roms from other phones with the same Chipset?
No one having an idea at least?

All phones that use the mtk chipsets are a big and difficult issue ...
MTK does not release the sources of their chipsets , and neither do the OEM - so making an mtk chipset custom ROM is working ""in the dark" , in other words a lot of work . It can be done and has been done and is still happening but the amount of work is just too much. The modersa have to do a lot of guess work.
So not many modders will work on mtk chipset phones unless they have a special interest in the particular phone ...,

Seems like it, your right. I switched to an Redmi Note 5 with an Snapdragon Processor anyway, cause my Blackview P2 died on water sadly. Was an really good phone for an MTK, except the lavk of updates and custom roms. R.I.P. Blackview P2
