Hello guys, I have an Blackview P2 (with MT6750T Chipset) that has as newest update an Android 7.0, but Blackview never released the sources, does that mean it is impossible to see any custom Roms for it ever like Android 7.1.2 or 8.1.0? Or is it somehow possible to port such Roms from other phones with the same Chipset?
No one having an idea at least?
mtk chipset not easy to work with

All phones that use the mtk chipsets are a big and difficult issue ...
MTK does not release the sources of their chipsets , and neither do the OEM - so making an mtk chipset custom ROM is working ""in the dark" , in other words a lot of work . It can be done and has been done and is still happening but the amount of work is just too much. The modersa have to do a lot of guess work.
So not many modders will work on mtk chipset phones unless they have a special interest in the particular phone ...,

Seems like it, your right. I switched to an Redmi Note 5 with an Snapdragon Processor anyway, cause my Blackview P2 died on water sadly. Was an really good phone for an MTK, except the lavk of updates and custom roms. R.I.P. Blackview P2

Hello, somebody know about running CyanogenMOD(or other light mod) on chinesse smartphones based on MediaTek chips MTK6516(prefered variant), MTK6513 or MTK6573?
Hope somebody can help with it, thanks.
P.S:sorry for my English
Today I found the sources for MTK6516, so it will make possible to make the CM for this phones
http://letitbit.net/download/94615.9f8cad5f7ca9188d82c5adea8f2a/OT_890_20120110.tar.xz.html
I am interested in this too. My stock Mediatek 65xx ROM does NOT support Bluetooth well, and the audio volume is soft. I am looking for a custom ROM (such as CM) for the device.
UPDATE (23 April 2012) - My phone is a Hero H4300 (Mediatek chip MT6573). The HD7 ROM by Bruno Martins does NOT work on it. The stock ROM found on MobileUncle Forums (Chinese language) is defective also. But there is a stock ROM somewhere on the internet and that will restore the phone PLUS improve on the Bluetooth A2DP/RDP/Volume etc. So far, even the 3G-Wifi changeover works OK. I am hoping we could have a CyanogenMod ROM for this phone because it is quite speedy but lacking in internal storage space!

Lenovo has releashed Android Kitkat 4.4.2 for S650 which they to many devices with ecactly the same specs (MT6582, dual sim, qhd resolution) more than 20 devices with the same specs... devs can port this rom to many devices.
There is also an CWM flashable rom here for Lenovo S650 with Android Kitkat. But at comments you can see that actually you have to flash it with TWRP
http://www.needrom.com/mobile/lenovo-s650-vibeui/comment-page-9/#comments
Here you can find the latest version of TWRP
http://lenovo-forums.ru/topic/3499-расширенные-recovery-для-lenovo-vibe-x-mini-s650/
Would love to see or to guide me how to port this rom to another devices with the same chip specs etc.
There is also some progress porting 4.4.2 to another mediatek devices here.

All hi !
Hello guys,
This phone have 4.4.2 also OTA to 4.4.3:
http://www.pandawill.com/doogee-val...ch-android-44-mtk6582-45-inch-otg-p89143.html
I purchased:
http://www.pandawill.com/cubot-s208...b-android-42-50-inch-3g-otg-black-p88224.html
As you can see these two phones have almost identical specs, what needs to be done to port Kitkat from valecia to S208 i think both use 3.4 kernel too?
Regards,
Magix
I'm also highly interested in this, as i own a X9S myself. It would be great if anyone could give hints on how to port ROMs for this chipset.
Edit: Someone posted a custom cwm recovery for Xiaocai X9S, can confirm that it works (w*w.android-hilfe.de/xiaocai-x9s-forum/509414-x9s-neues-smartphone-von-xiaocai-mit-mtk6582-3.html#post7027102)
I think there are a lot of people that love MIUI.
I know, we already have MIUI Rom, but it`s not true MIUI, just a little modded sock rom, an it has nothing common with real MIUI.
We had not had MIUI earlier because we were waiting for working Cyanogenmod to take it as a base for MIUI.
Today we have a lot of almost fully working CM11 ROMs.
So I believe it`s possible to make real MIUIv5 rom. And I hope that great developers, who make today awesome CM based roms for Xperia L, will give us MIIUI!
they're already working on it... So if the miui rom is based in cyanogenmod, it will be just for unlocked bootloader, won't it?
We got CM11 but that doesn't mean we can easily get MIUI. Its half work done. MIUI V5 (4.5.X.X) based on Kitkat was released 2 days ago for Nexus 5 and other devices will get the build in comming days. We have to wait for MIUI to release this latest version to Redmi 1s as its nearly of same spect and chipset except display. So have patience guys. Its not that easy.
Same spect?! Lol. The only common is RAM - 1gb.
I just want devs not to concentrate only on CM mods, but for miui too.

FYI its based on snapdragon 400 and so is our XL. So, most of the things can be easily ported from 1s.
P.S.: Search for detail before commenting dude. If not then you can atleast search on gsmarena.com
its quad core while our xl is dualcore. thats a big difference bro

FYI:
XPERIA L: Qualcomm MSM8230 Snapdragon
Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8230 - System on a Chip
XIAOMI HONGMI 1S: Qualcomm MSM8228 Snapdragon
Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8228 - System on a Chip
Dual Core or Quad Core doesn't matter here. What its matter is their build architecture. If you really are porting roms to these devices then they can be ported from back and forth.
P.S: Don't go for numbers study their build architecture instead.
Thanks for this information. I really hope it will help us get MIUI soon.
Hi guys.
I've been looking online but can't seem to find a straight-forward answer to this question.
I was just wondering if, e.g. one MT6582 based android device's preloader.bin file can be used on a completely different MT6582 based device, or if their preloaders are tailored specifically for each MT6582 based device (almost like how a fingerprint would be unique to just one person).
tnx.

If a preloader (say, preloader_deviceA.bin) has the same codename (deviceA) as the device you're using (deviceA), then it's fine.
For instance, the Elephone P2000 and iBerry Auxus Note 5.5 have the exact same specifications (say for a few slight changes here and there), so they should be able to use the same preloader.

So, can I use older preloaders for newer firmwares versions if they are exactly for the specific same device?
Hi.. well can you made a llolipop rom for avvio l500 5" pulgadas
1gb ram 4 rom qualcomm snapdragon 400 1.2ghz andreno 305..
Or can you tell me a similar rom...this phone is made in colombia..thanks
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
If you want a custom ROM made for your device because there are none already available then you will have to ask around in the forums to find someone willing, they will have to have one of the devices to get he ROM working properly, you may have to donate a device for them to do. Or you could learn to Port ROMs for yourself or even learn to build a ROM from source if the source for your device is available.
