[Q] HTC One SV Fastboot & Recovery Error [NOT SOLVED] - HTC One SV

Hi guys I have An HTC SV One and was tired of the restrictions of abilities that I have by default, so I decided that I was going to root my device so that I could do more things that I would like to do that can only be done with a rooted phone. My warranty is up so I figured what the hey. I've successfully rooted My HP Touchpad in the past & wasn't exactly unfamiliar with this type of thing, but seeing as how these types of processes may differ with each new device I decided to go ahead and look up a TUT on how exactly to go about this. I did a bit of searching and began by Following a TUT titled:
"How to Unlock the HTC One Bootloader [All Models]" -By QBKING77
Possted Here: http :// qbking77. c o m /development/how-to-unlock-the-htc-one-bootloader/
(REMOVE SPACES)
All went well, so I moved on to the next step which is to actually root my device following this TUT titled:
"How to Root the HTC One (International, Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile)" -By QBKING77
Posted Here: http :// qbking77. c o m /development/how-to-root-the-htc-one-international-sprint-att/
(REMOVE SPACES)
Everything was going according to plan up until I got to the step for going into the recovery. When I select recovery my phone says "Entering Recovery" (it stays there for about 20 seconds) and then reboots just like in the video. So I do like he does in the video and when I re enter HBOOT it shows ***Tampered*** & ***Unlocked*** just like his phone does in the video, but when I try to then enter recovery it does the same thing. After searching around for some kind of solution I decided to plug my phone back into my pc to try some of the things I'v seen suggested online but when I put in any of the Flashboot commands I get this message.
"error: neither -p product specified nor ANDROID_PRODUCT_OUT set"
& this is where I am stuck. I need to know how I can fix this & get into my recovery to continue. I can still use my device as normal but I am unable to enter into recovery to get to TWRP & actually Root my device.
I hope that somebody here at xda-developers can help me with my issue. Thank you for your time.
~ UBT, Thanks
************************UPDATE***************************
I discovered that part of this was my non attention to detail (I believe anyway). I think that I might have been typing in "Flashboot" instead of obviously "Fastboot" in my haste, but I still am unable to enter into recovery.
HBOOT tells me:

Help for new method to development

hello guys
are now 2 months that I try to root my vodafone magic 32B, but without
success, I tried all the methods on this forum, GoldCard, rentless
rooter, oneclickroot ... etc but without success, I have 1.6 donut and perfect
spl 1.33.007, now ask the experts, if someone willing to create a
method that works well I would be willing to make a donation, for
development of this method.( for have root to my magic)
awaiting for help
thanks
I rooted my buddy's 32B yesterday took five minutes
I used oneclick method.
I used it myself, too.
But remember to write the correct name in flashrec and not what it says on the unlockr.com
for example. / sdcard/recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.5.2G.img

thanks so much, but im not understand one thing, what say theunlockr that not is correct?and i will rename the recovery?
anyone have any suggestions? please
What he wanted to say is that you should write the name of your recovery image instead of writing the same thing that they wrote at theunlockr.com
correct
Download http://zenthought.org/content/project/flashrec Install it on your phone.
Download http://rapidshare.com/files/320335181/recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.5.2G.img on your memory card.
Then, click on the empty text box in the FlashRec program and type:
/ sdcard/recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.5.2G.img
Then click on the Flash Recovery Custom Image button and wait for it to finish.
Turn off the phone and turn it on into Recovery mode by holding down Home and Power
And you will have root access
Hope this helps

When i try to root my magic i get an error on that part: Then click on the Flash Recovery Custom Image button and wait for it to finish. Invalid image.
what can i do to make an valid backup?
This is most likely because you already have a custom recovery image, please use one of the unrooting procedures to get back to the original recovery image and THEN you can use this procedure.
Also, instead of doing that, if you have root access, you can just put the recovery image on your SD card then go into Terminal (download it from the Market if you don’t already have it) and type:
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-dream-v1.5.3.img

Will it work ?? i'm about to go nuts couse it's not working
I hope it will work.
I had the same problem when I rooted my phone, but I can not remember what I
did. Take it easy. read some http://theunlockr.com/2009/08/29/how-to-root-the-htc-magic-in-one-click/:)
i have tried that guide too that you are linkin to without success
I'm lost and i don't know what to do hehe
Try to press outside the field you type
/ sdcard/recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.5.3G.img on the right or Left side I can not remember then you will see an x, press, then phone of. the power and home
It is not so important to make your own recovery img. as long as you have some ROMs, for your phone sdcard that you can flash.

thanks for the tip, driving already tried, but the problem remains the downgrade
1.5 ... cupcake after the update with sappimg.nbh. always writes "main version is older" so this guide does not work either .....
I have the same problem as you it's driving me nuts the perfected spl 1.33.0007 and donut is an uncrackable combination it appears
it's getting to the point where I'd pay someone to get my phone rooted it's useless for custom roms at the moment which is one of the main reasons I bought the phone

[Q] Srewed up my Incredible S while trying to unroot it. Help!

Hi there,
First post here, so: hello! Nice to be here....
I will try to tell you the problem in as little words as possible and sum it up ;-)
I rooted my Incredible S (Europe (Netherlands), Provider: Telfort) with 'Revolutionary' to make my Japanese sim work. All ok, except I couldn't use internet. Useless for me...
Now I wanted to unroot my phone again via a manual on 'theunlockr. But I got stuck when trying to flash the stock bootloader. Got this message in the cmd:
C:\android-sdk\platform-tools>adb shell /data/local/psneuter
Failed to set prot mask (Inappropriate ioctl for device)
Searched for an answer a long time and tried several things.. Nothing worked and some things were just beyond my knowledge.
Now I installed a new ROM on my phone, because I didn't knew in what state my phone was, after trying all kind of things.. I used this one:
RUU_VIVO_SENSE30_S_HTC_WWE_3.08.405.3_Radio_20.4802.30.0822U_3822.10.08.28_M_release_227170_signed
Problem: My phone doesn't start anymore. It is stuck on the white screen with HTC logo. I searched and viewed all the treads on this problem, but with no result. I went into Hboot and tried 'Recovery' and 'factory reset' with no succes. And I cannot access the phone via cmd to run a recovery file. SDK is intalled on my computer with the 'Goolgle usb driver package' installed.
Can someone please help me? I'm obvious a noob in this! And all the information on the internet about this subject is overwelming me. I just want to reset my whole phone!
Many thanks!!

[Q] Unrooting HTC sensation/RUU

Hey guys,
so a time ago the volume knob disappeared from my HTC sensation. So I searched the internet and it turned out that I wasn't the only one with this problem. So I can turn it in for garanty but first I have to unroot it.
So I started unrooting following this guide: [GUIDE]How to Remove Custom Recovery/Root/Hboot and Keep Stock S-Off/Stock S-ON*VIDEO
So first all steps went flawless, but then I got to the step where you have to type "adb devices" in the cmd but it didn't show my phone. After hours of searching and trying different stuff I finally got to install the drivers for my phone correctly, and it finally showed up in the list of devices.
Then the next step: "9. If it is recognized, then download your official RUU, please get the same/similar version that came with your phone."
My phone is running cyanogenmod7.1.0 alpha 10 or something, and it's provider is Vodafone NL. So i didn't have a clue what RUU to download or where I could van these. Finally i found the following threat: [ROM]Shipped Pyramid ROM Collection.
As it didn't have a Vodafone NL RUU I downloaded the one for Vodafone UK.
Then I just tried it and first it reboots to the black HTC screen, and after a while I get the 171 Error. I tried almost anything but couldn't find what was wrong. And that's why I made this treath.
What I tried:
- Take out battery, start all over. Error 171 again.
- Leave phone on black HTC screen, run RUU again. Error 170.
- Run RUU in compatibality mode, all the same.
I have no clues what i'm doing wrong, the only thing I can think of is that I didn't turn off Fast Boot on my phone, but I can't find where I can do that. On the cyanogenmod wiki it says:
"Disable fastboot on the HTC Sensation (Settings » Power » Fastboot) or (Settings » Applications » Fastboot)"
But on my phone there is no Power menu in my settings, and in the applications meny there is no option to disable fastboot.
Anyone else experienced this problem before?
Thank you very, very much in advance, and I hope I didn't break any of the forum rules as this is my first post.
Greetings,
Frank

[Q] Cannot flash Sensation with S-on and formatted memory!!! HELP!! PLEASE!!

Hello all, I apologize if this or similar has been posted ahead of time. I've have been searching the forums and Google for the past 4 days trying to figure this out. I'm lost...
Just to be known, I am not a "complete" noob on rooting/hacking phones. I am however a noob on this Sensation..
So a few days ago I got this phone. I had all intentions of running rooted custom roms. I've followed every turtorial I could find on it. I see there were two ways: Through SDK and the All-in-one kit v1.0
I tried using the SDK first... the problem I had with it was I would get a "failed to fetch URL"
So I would have to close down. Then after that I couldn't get "revision 5" to load up to tick on it.
Obviously it wasn't working correctly or somthing was wrong with drivers? I did install HTC Sync AND latest Java.
I dunno?
Next I went to use the All-In-One toolkit
Seemed better and easier. I went through the steps of unlocking the Bootloader - DONE!
Next I went to flash recovery.. Well I got stuck. It wouldn't load.
Well this next step is probably where I went wrong...
I was trying to move clutter off my desktop and was clicking on things... I happen to hit the "Stock kernel" button. Wouldn't be a problem except the tool kit is used for the HTC One X (although it is said to also be used for the Sensation). I'm thinking maybe I loaded thr One X kernel?
Basically, after that I am stuck on the HTC wite screen. I can get into bootloader, Fastboot, and now CWMrecovery (although recovery is giving me issues too. Can't mount USB and half the time wont run SuperWipe, will say aborted status 1 and sometimes 7)
There is current rom in the phone so I cannot boot into anything and I wasn't able to do "perm root" because of my accident.
I'm stuck and I've run out of options. Is it bricked? What can I do to get back to stock to atleast start over and get S-OFF?
I do have the OTA ICS update 1.27 if that helps.
Please, any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks for replying back so quickly! That is the actual thread I've been trying to follow. My problem with it is I can't get command prompt to work right? I follow the directions but every time I keep getting "not found" in the directories. Is it something on my comp I'm not doing right?

if you are trying to flash 4ext recovery then did you open the command prompt in the folder where adb and fastboot files are located?
if yes then did you have installed htc drivers?
best wishes
big mistake that you used kernel from that tool
i used the same tool to root my device but never flashed that kernel because it is for one x
never do steps that are not mentioning

[Q] Need Help With Updating hboot for JB

Ok first off I would like to start off by thanking everyone in advance. I am a little weird at explaining over text but ill try. I have a old AT&T HTC One X that I was wanting to install a jellybean custom rom on. I guess in order to do that i have to update the Hboot to 1.36 (Hboot currently 1.14). Now correct me if i'm wrong but I did a little research and noticed I had to unlock the bootloader prior to updating the Hboot, so I watched a video by a guy known as "onexroot" (link below) and followed his steps. But when I looked at my CID it was 11111111 so I didn't really know which option to pick. So I stopped and did a little more research on this and had no success. I continued and picked list . After going through the next few steps I get an error "FAILED(12 signature verification fail)" I went online and researched this and it seemed that that error only came up on nexus one devices? I am completely stuck and seem to run into a error every time I try to mess with this phone. I would be very thankful if someone on this forum could shed some light in the direction i need to go with this phone. I have attached a ZIP file with the pictures and a text document containing the link to the youtube video and my email address. I put them into a ZIP because the pictures were to big and i'm unable to post links because I am a new user.
Thanks,
Tyler

I think you're a bit confused here, and it's probably due to going to onexroot.com for information. XDA is the only place you should go to for info regarding modifying your device. That other site doesn't properly distinguish between the HTC One X (Endeavoru) and the HTC One XL / at&t One X (Evita), they're completely different phones and the firmware isn't compatible. You have the HTC One XL / at&t One X (Evita), but the tool you've been using is for the HTC One X (Endeavoru), it's a good thing it keeps failing otherwise you'd have an expensive paperweight on your hands.
Anyway, stay within XDA, and more importantly, stay within the correct device subforum. This is our device main page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-x-att
Don't ever venture out of this section or you'll end up in trouble.
So, what you need to do is go to htcdev.com and unlock your bootloader. Once you've done that you can flash TWRP recovery to your device. Once you've done that you can flash SuperSU to get root. Once you've done that you can get s-off via the Facepalm s-off method. And once you've done that you can upgrade your firmware (not just your hboot) in order to run the latest Jellybean ROMs. I have a guide thread in my signature which will explain most of the above stuff, but feel free to ask any questions if you need further help.
