I have a HTC sensation that was working fine, it was rooted, S-OFF and running venoms latest HTC sense rom. I dropped the phone last week, it wouldnt turn on for a day, but then suddenly it worked. This week i was at the bar, my phone was working, put it in the pocket and later in the night it wouldnt turn on at all. I tried replacing the battery, discharging electricity by pressing the power buttong, removing the SD/SIM card charging the phone, but nothing seems to work. It does not even detect on the computer.
is this is the end of my phone?

Don't worry about that,
Here is some of my suggestions
1 . Charge battery using any other charger ( not by putting in the device . You may use alternative chargers . )
2 . Remove battery and charge ,after 5 seconds insert the battery without stopping the charging .
3 . Sometimes it is only a hardware error and it will automatically vanish after some time . If the above suggested things didn't worked give the device to your device provided .
Let me know the results

Same issue with mine. Yesterday, 8/20/12, I broke a sim card connector pin and Nexus S wouldn't recognize sim card after a reboot. Rebooted the device again after the warning message: Sim card not detected/found.
Now Nexus S won't boot. Computers (Windows & OSX) can't recognize it's connected and 5 different charges won't show that the battery is charging. Battery still has a charge as I tested it in another Nexus S. When the battery is in, the device heats up. When connected to a power source, the device heats up.
Used Unbrickable resurrector with no success. UR shows: Device not found, No device detected.
Finally, I was running Jelly Bean from OTA update and not rooted. I noticed that in the past week or two the stock Andoird keyboard would cause force closing of apps or exceed processor threshold of 35% even if there was no program running. Google Now was also sucking the battery after the JB update. Turned that battery drain off on the other Nexus. Also, the Android Media process was taking a drain on the processor. Usually running at 40-50%.
Bought this used from CowBoom and hoping the extended warranty will replace or fix the broken sim card connector and unbrick the phone.
Luckily I have an iPhone 4S and a 2 yr old HTC Desire to turn to.
I've read on another thread, perhaps?, that two other users in the past week or so have had this same problem.

Same happened to me. The Unbrickable resurrector also didnt detect the phone. so i made the Unbrickable Hardware Mod (httpxx://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566475) remove the xx from httpxx. now my phone is being detected and the tool is able to load its files. but still the phone is dead, no thing happens and the tool shows no device found after it loads the files. but when i picked GALAXY S from the drop down menu. the tool loads the files and now both the tool and the phone shows download mode with an android shoveling dirt. heimdall now detects the phone but it doesnt work caz its not a GALAXY S. So let us know what happens if u try this mod. cheers
The exact same thing happened to me. Strangely, it's happening with JB roms. And yeah, i told my problem in a very educated way on the ROM topic and they simply deleted the post, how nice.
Anyway, i just sent the phone to the warranty almost three weeks ago, i'm waiting for them to fix it or give me a new one.

well ... i don't have these tools to do hardware level of modifications ...
anyway , i just send to repair , i think , the motherborad or something should be replaced ...
i was thinking about buying a new phone such as Galaxy Nexus if my Nexus S can not be repaired or way too expensive to repair...
i had same issue a few days after upgrading to JB JRO03E. i got the main board replaced under warranty. took about 2 and half weeks.
the phone came back with GB installed but OTA'd to ICS then JB JRO03L.
I had the same issue running cm10-0823. Screen froze while sitting idle. Pulled and replaced battery, and phone won't come back.
Looks like cm10/jb is causing some burn-out in circuit board; cpu, memory...?

I have exactly the same problem I flashed Codename Android ROM 3.4.1, done some overclocking (only 1200 MHz) and the device crashed. Well, nothing unusual. But I removed the battery, I think it was just when the device was rebooting - I think display turned on, I noticed some flash when the battery was already removed.
I tried to turn on the device, but it's dead. Display doesn't turn on, UnBrickable Resurrector says device not found.
I can send the phone to the warranty, but it's unlocked. Do you think they will find out it's unlocked? Even if the download mod doesn't work etc?
What should I do?
Well, I happened to end up with the same problem. Installed latest cm 10 nightly, started rebooting my phone. The moment I restarted it from CWM I realised that I forgot to flash some mod in CWM so I pulled the battery to go into recovery. Phone bricked, no input at all. Sent my phone on warranty, I hope they won't mind it had unlocked bootloader and cm10 on it ;P
That's just a bit stupid to be honest, pulling the battery while booting why not just wait?
Sent from my Nexus S
Now I know it's stupid. Do you think they will repair it even though it's cm flashed and unlocked?
i sent mine to repair and they fixed without paying a dime!

I had the same issue back in August just after I flashed 4.1.1/JRO03E. It just died one day while listening to music. Took about 3 weeks to get the mainboard replaced under warranty. It came back bootloader unlocked and with Gingerbread 2.3.3 installed.
2 weeks ago I have bought a HTC Sensation, branded by Vodafone, LOCKED, S-ON, HBOOT 1.27, firmware 3.32, everything works.
I have done S-OFF via juopunutbear , superCID, debranded, firmware 3.33, latest radio, and 4ext recovery.
I have tried many ROMs like: ARHD, Pyromod, AOKP, CM10, official CM9 stable, ViperS, and OpenSensation.
I have also tried many KERNELs : SebastianFM, faux132, bricked kerlnel, DragunKernel and tamcore.
OpenSensation and tamcore were last working.
Last night I have installed HyperNonSense-v3.4 , but it don't load. It's only show a HTC logo and restart.
So, i press Vol - and enter bootloader. Select recovery and it normally boot into 4ext recovery. I have battery charged only to 30%.
It was late night and i was tired. So i put my phone on table, DON'T TURN OFF and go sleep. (08 september 1:25 AM)
(9:25 AM) When i wake up, i see only 3% charged battery. So i go have a breakfast but when i come to bedroom, my sensation was OFF.
(8:15 PM) A half hour ago i put Sensation on charger, but LED don't turn ON.
I can't turn on my phone.
Tried to remove battery and other things many times.
But i still CAN'T TURN ON!!!
PLEASE, can SOMEONE HELP ME???

i don't know if it helps but pull out the battery again, also take out sim and sdcard and charge the device as it is for 5-6 hours
then put them again and try to turn it on

Try to leave the phone to charge a couple of hours and then.
Try to turn it back on a combination of up and down volume and power button.(all buttons in the same time)

I have heard of this happening A LOT with this device. It makes me afraid to death to EVER let my battery run down all the way! I'm wondering if it isn't some sort of "bug" the sensation has ? I've personally read of this happening at least ten times! I'm wondering what causes this? People say there device is running perfectly fine then battery runs down and it won't turn back on! Too many people with the same story to be a fluke thing... Some had success with charging without sd and sim for several hours then replacing sd and sim and put back on charger for a while. I hope this helps and wish you the best.

Ok to actually put some knowledge behind this instead of people guessing whats wrong:
Good news is the phone isnt bricked.
Basically htc build in some code that means if the battery runs completly flat, it wont turn on again until it is charged to at least 30 % - it doesnt even power on the charging LED.
Trust me, I have had this problem myself but after charging for a few hours it should turn on

It's possible it's a problem with the charger and/or battery. Try and borrow a compatible charger and battery from someone else (I dunno if other HTC phones use the same battery, if not, it may be hard to find someone).
Also, before doing that even, try turning on the phone while holding the volume down button. If that makes the bootloader screen appear, it may be a software issue. In this case, you could try running one of the RUUs (these are HTC issued applications which run on your computer and reinstall the stock ROM on your phone, at least that's how I understand it).
If you can't access the bootloader, it's probably a hardware issue e.g. problem with battery/charger (easy to replace) or some other important component (not so easy to replace; in this case, it's probably either send to service centre or else buy a new phone).

Hi,
You're not going to believe this but .....
My Son's phone had the same problem and I figured an unusual way of sorting this out.
Did a lot of searching and there are many instances of HTC phones, when left discharged for weeks will not charge.
No solutions though - until now
The charger that came with the phone whistles (low buzzing noise) when the phone is disconnected.
I used this to determine that the phone, when dead, was not charging - I could hear the buzzing when the phone was connected.
Procedure I used as follows:
I warmed up the battery in my hands (told you it was unusual )
put the battery back in the phone
plugged in charger
it goes quite for a few seconds and then starts to buzz (indicating it no longer was charging)
plug out when this happens and repeat from step 3 until the buzzing stops (repeated 4 or 5 times)
once the buzzing didn't reappear indicating it was charging I left charger plugged in
after a few seconds the battery screen appeared with 0% & charging - SUCCESS
left it to charge as normal
If you don't have a (helpful) buzzing charger
you could try plugging out in the charger every 10 seconds
Thanks for all the posts. I managed to get it to boot by replacing the battery.
@haongusa your solution of warming the battery with my hands worked. I now have two batteries :silly:
wish i had seen this post a few weeks back my phone turned off and would not charge had to send it off to htc for repair, which took two weeks.
So...my desire is acting strange (yes i use the search funtion, but found nothing close).
If i start the phone without sim, no problem. all good. but with sim in it, it reboot right after launcher appear (if i'm fast enough, i can activate airplane mode, so it wont reboot).
the only way i manage to keep it open, is to connect the charger. it seems to work, but if i call someone, the image is freezing, all buttons/touch will not work, but io can speak with the other person. and if the battery is low enough will reboot
oh, without charger it just close..with charger it reboot...
can it be a battery problem?

Bricking HTC phones got very less chances .....like out of 100% HTC phones won't brick for 99.99% .
So try changing your battery...might help
Sent from my HTC Explorer using xda premium
It's definitly no a brick 'cause you did flashed your kernel and ROM successfully after rooting it. I've never heard of anyone who bricked his phone while he rooted it succesfully and had a working custom ROM on it.
Have you overclocked it, may the battery/chipsets died this way? Any scripts or tweaks on it?
Mhmmm...found this:
http://lifehacker.com/5853519/how-do-i-fix-my-bricked-android-phone
It says sth. about phones that won't turn on anymore
Dude ... Yeah Firstly .. trying changing The Batt. cause .. i have a feeling ur Battery has gone Bad ... :/ n try to clean ur like golden slots in battery .. Check if there is Carbon type thing in those ..
This may be the first case of bricking i've seen for Pico. Have a look at your battery, or the port in which your charger plugs in.
Do you charge with USB? I had a problem with my USB wire, it did not charge when connected to adapter, so i used my Samsung charger and charged the phone. So check your charging apparatus.
If everything is in vain, go to HTC Store and play dumb (i.e. "Sir i was using it and suddenly it did not start")
and Rule 1 in playing dumb: Never utter the "root" word, nor bootloader, its best if the store guy thinks you're a noob
Trust me, most of the time if you are within the warranty time they wont bother and give you a new phone, my friend once did with Micromax, and got it repaired free of cost.
