I have sprint and use an Airave in the house to boost my signal. My uncle just got a Virgin Mobile phone and has been unable to use it in the house. His first phone showed no signal, and his new one shows full bars until he tries to make a call, at which point it drops to 0 bars and does nothing.
Is there any work around to this? Thanks
No. the Airave Femotel cell is designed only to allow connections from Sprint CDMA network phones, and while yes it is true that Sprint bought Virgin Mobile USA and they do 'lease' bandwidth from Sprint, they are still two separate entities, ironically enough Nextel phones also do not work with the Airave.
Hi just wondering out there how many ppl in general with the note edge are getting low 4g or lte signals. Recently just got mine and my signal is real low between 1-2 bars sometime in the city where 4g is strong i still get 1 or 2 bars. If I compare it to my old phone I'm getting full reception and real 4g speed. Not sure if it just my phone or is it a common problem everyone else has. Any feedback wil be good. I am in Australia on the telstra network. My edge is N915G running on baseband ANK4.
Same issue i think
I have the SM-N915S model from Korea and i am in The Netherlands on T Mobile.
My note 3 works on 4G yet when i install same sim card into Note Edge i dont get 4G (Or LTE as its called on phone)
I am wondering if its because the network frequency in Korea is 850/900/1800/2100 and Netherlands is 800/1800/2600??
There is also no option to make it automatically switch between the 2. It only has the option for LTE or 3G.
I am also wanting to know if rooting the phone would enable the access?
Is there a way to root the phone and turn it into the SM-N915Y model for Europe in the hope this will fix the issue?
I am new to this and studying up on rooting phones.
Any help would be appreciated...
i am hearing it is a known issue with the Note Edge across all platforms. I am suffering from the same thing.
Hello all. I have an unlocked samsung galaxy note 4 SM-N910H and I switched from prepaid AT&T to prepaid Cricket Wireless due to plan convenience. I was confident the signal, performance, etc. would be the same as AT&T owns Cricket and they work on same network. With AT&T my phone signal was strong in every corner of my house. Now with Cricket Wireless the best I can get is 2/4 bars and 0/4 bars in a lot of places inside my house.
How can this be possible with Cricket working on AT&T's network?
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Theoretically this shouldn't happen if they're using the exact same network. You might need to take this up with your new carrier though.

I have a Strait talk SM-S975L galaxy S4 running Kit Kat insane rom android 4.4.2. Baseband version S975LUDUANB1. I have noticed with both this and the factory stock that my 4G and 4G LTE signal completely disappears (I lose all data connectivity and can only call and receive sms) in the town that I work, no 3G signal, no H+, H signal nothing. This is about 15 miles from my home town where the 4G/ 4G lte signal is great. I used to have a straight talk galaxy S3 that worked fine in this area. When I spoke to straight talk technical support, they told me the reason is that the S4 doesn't work well in this area is because it runs off AT&T towers only, and not both AT&T and Verizon(unlike my S3). My question is this, is there a way to flash the modem or do some other hack that will enable me to get a signal off both towers, like my S3 had? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

How were you able to get the stock version of kit Kat on sm-s975l? I'm having trouble reverting my phone back to stock
Ok This is really weird. I have a Samsung Galaxy Avant sm-g386t1. Phone was working great. I went out of calling area for a few days and was in an area where signal was very weak. Then out of no where phone stopped working properly.
I got back home to the MetroPCS calling area NEW YORK CITY and the phone will only register on the MetroPCS network if im very close to a tower. If I go to my house the phone will no longer register on the network and will only work via WiFi Calling. If I use My wifes phone which is also a 4G LTE Samsung AVANT on MetroPCS her phone works fine. It can be sitting right next to my phone, hers will say MetroPCS mine will say searching and phone not registered on network.
My APN is set properly.
If I go into network search on my Samsung it only shows T-Mobile, 31160, Verizon as available
If I go into network search on my wifes Samsung it shows MetroPCS RAT: LTE MetroPCS RAT: WCDMA MetroPCS : RAT GSM, ATT Rat:WCDMA ATT RAT: GSM VERIZON: RAT: LTE 311 660 RAT:LTE
like I said if I walk 2 blocks away and stand next to the cell tower My Samsung will then register on MetroPCS and the 4GLTE works fast.
