This is a tested and working Exchange Security Bypass that I am using on my AT&T LG G3. This mod should work on any variant of LG G3 that is running stock or AOSP ROM's.
All credit goes to the below developer, I was simply looking for a solution to bypass the exchange security policy that required me to have a password or pin on my lockscreen. After several tests using Xposed Framework and other APK's I came across this and it works flawlessly. You can see the developers thread here.

• You get caught by your employer and are punished in any way
• This bricks, breaks, scratches, dents, misplaces or cracks your phone
• This security bypass leads to any negative outcome.
USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
I have rooted my phone and used Root Browser to perform the following steps (You can use ADB as well, please follow the guide in the link above).
Instructions:
1. MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR STOCK EMAIL (LGEmail.apk & LGEmail.odex) - Copy and place it in another folder incase anything happens and you want to revert.
*Stock LG Email is located in system/priv-app2. After your make a backup, delete the stock LGEmail.apk and LGEmail.odex files
3. Download the files attached to this post and put them in the system/app folder
4. Change the permissions of the two new APK's (Exchange2.apk & Email.apk) to rw-r-r (DON'T FORGET TO DO THIS)
4. Once the 2 files (Exchange2.apk & Email.apk) are placed in your system/app folder, click on them and install
5. That's it...close out of your root explorer, open your new email app and set up your exchange account. :good:
I hope this helps users who are looking for a solution to their exchange security issues like I was. Enjoy
btw u can only do this if u are rooted..for those who arent dont even try it

It should not be necessary to delete the LGE apps, the two can work side by side. And if you are set on disabling the LGE app it is probably better to freeze it with TBU than delete, in case you change your mind later.
Those contemplating the use of this mod should keep in mind that the LGE stock email app is FAR, FAR, FAR more intelligent than the stock KK email app when it comes to autoconfiguring your Exchange connection. In fact I recommend running the LGE stock app first, then going into settings and taking a screenshot to document how the account was configured. You will almost certainly have to enter this information manually into the KK app because it will be unable to figure it out on its own.

Because I'm nit sure what to edit, I've always just used a hacked APK. Please feel free to shed some light though and provide a little more detail.

Go to data/system and there is a file locksettings.db. Open it in SQL editor. Next tap on locksettings, and u should have a item listed as lockscreen.password_type . Change the value for this to 0. That will change lockscreen to swipe to unlock.....

I'm assuming I'd need to set up exchange first and once it enforces the password lock I'd need to modify the file? I would assume when adding an exchange account it would change change that value.

Yes sir, you got it. I always use this method, with stock exchange email.
LG Email has no widget, which is a killer for me. I'm following all the directions above but unable to install the Exchange, though the Email was easily installed. Any thoughts on why?

I realized I edited the database incorrectly...I had to reset my phone by going into recovery mode, but this method does work if you edit the database just as described.
Would anyone know what the "value" should be if you want knock code instead of swipe to access phone?

Run TBU, touck checkmark icon in upper right of screen, wait for "Calculating scenarios" message to complete, scroll down to Freeze/Defrost, touch appropriate option (could the color scheme of TBU be any more awful than it is? sheesh, the developer must be color blind ) then select apps to freeze/defrost.

One odd thing is happening. I have root explorer installed and from that application, I browse to the location where the locksettings.db file lives. However, when I click on the file and the "Complete Action Using" pop up window comes up, I don't see SQL Editor as one of the choices there. Alternatively, I thought I'd just open SQL Editor directly and try to edit the file in there; this does not work since SQL Editor has not been granted root access.
Anyone know if there's a way to grant a specific application root access?

You should be able to add it through super user or reopen a few times to get the root prompt.

If your phone stays black after a call you can fix it by a couple of ways.
First:
Code:
[B]Q[/B]:Where is the proximity sensor?
[B]A[/B]:Top left of the screen in opposite place to led, if you tily screen under the light you should see the sensor reflect back at you.
Install this app and test your proximity sensor to be sure, that it is not broken: Proximity Sensor Finder
Options you need to try first.
The screen protector, yes it might be transparent but the sensor detects it. Using a sensor testing app from the market it suggested the sensor was covered almost all the time.
So the solution was replace the protector with new one but cut an arc at the top just big enough around the sensor at the top left, easy fix now in call screen is more responsive.
With a vacuum cleaner vacuum over the top area of the phone. This must suck all the dust out of there.
<-------------------------------------->
1 of the other option would be an app called Anyunlock which seems to have solved the problem for me. It seems to be able to wake up when the screen turns off after a call. The app allows you to unlock with the volume key and replaces the lock screen with its own screen.
This option works on my Desire S
<-------------------------------------->
If it's broken, you'll see 0.0 cm all the time.
Solution to disable proximity sensor incall is to put this line into build.prop and reboot:
you can edit the build.prop by pulling it first from the device by doing:
Code:
adb pull /system/build.prop c:\where\you\want\to\put\it\
open with wordpad and add the following line
Code:
gsm.proximity.enable=false
Then
Code:
adb remount
adb push c:\where\you\want\to\put\it\build.prop /system/
reboot so that the settings take effect
This option works on my Desire S
Credits
For disabling the proximity sensor in call go to Matri}{
Rest of the credits go to all the people that figured the other stuff out. (to many post on the net so I don't know who made them but thanks)
Thanks to myself for making this tutorial. (It's my first on xda)

Hey,
I just tried your fix but it didn't work for me. Screen still goes black when receiving a call and only reacts when I plug it in through USB. Could it be because my ROM is ICS?
Also tried removing the screen cover & sucking out the dust on the top.
The Anyunlock app works, but that's not ideal of course.
Yes it could be that it's Rom related. I use Endymion. And matri}{ extracted it from the Rom.
Wich Rom do you use. I can take a look for you tonight when I get home.
The anylock works most off as between solution.

Hey,
I tried it on MIUI ICS, Endymion which both failed. Now I'm using the Reaper ROM but it still doesn't work.
It should work on Endymion. I used it and I even checked if it's the same proximity line in de file of update 3.5.
Did you changed it on the phone or with a text editor on the computer?
I tested it on Endymion just 5 min ago and it worked.
Does your screen still stays black after hanging up? If so can you only unlock with USB cable or power cable?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk 2
Hm, you're right, it does work on Endymion (sorry). I'm having some stability problems with that ROM though...
Do you know how to enable it on MIUI or Reaper (CM based)?
I'm going to check for you tomorrow ok. I'll get back to you.
I just discovered that there is a setting in the MIUI dialer to disable the proximity sensor! This also works, sorry for taking up your time.
But maybe a new suggestion for people who don't want to edit the build file ? Try MIUI!

That's not true. In my experience this line only works in Sense ROMs...
I just got my HTC One S via T-Mobile and I was curious to see if Carrier IQ was installed. If so, are there any measures I can take to disable/remove it while I await the development of some Custom ROMs? Ever since I read the article on Carrier IQ, I feel really uncomfortable using a stock ROM so though I've had my phone for a few days, I've yet to do anything except root it.
Yes carrier IQ is there as an option. You can either choose to allow T-Mobile to have the info or not. You should see the agreement accepting or denying the service as you set up your device.
Sent back in time to find Marty.
that option isn't good enough for me... i want it GONE...
are there apps, like what truecrypt does for pc to encrypt the whole file system and there is a password at boot? i can't find anything like that, that does just that
Might want to throw this out to one of the devs in the Q&A section. Not sure if this has been addressed yet with the One S.
Sent back in time to find Marty.
well surely, if im right, that carrier IQ will be an apk installed on the phone, to collect info ??
if thats the case, install titanium backup or a root exploerer (needs root) and hunt that bad boy down and remove it..
might as well remove all the bloatware too. get your self a nice clean stock ROM without having to flash anything........except recovery and root zip lol

Thanks for reminding me about this. After looking into it the damn thing is installed on the phone =(. It's installed as a rootkit though so you can't see it in titanium backup to remove it.
It exists in /data/data/com.carrieriq.tmobile and also /system/lib something something. It's late here so forgive my lack of effort.
my attempts failed at removing it. It keeps rebuilding itself in data/data even after I delete it but not in /system/lib.
Although a pretty awesome thing is that after deleting **** it no longer has that red text warning about my boot loader being unlocked when my phone boots up.

ICS has this option built in, at least in the EU ROMs of the HOS it is available. You can encrypt the system/data area or everything (sys/data and the sd storage partition).
However, just like TC this will not help you with any malware that is already on the system at the point of encryption. And unlike TC you can't just "decrypt" and retain the data. Removing the encryption means going back to total factory reset and a full wipe of data.

What u deleted to get rid of the this is for development blabla stuff??
figured that out first day glad some one else posted how to it saves me from having to write a tutorial
Actually i couldn't really think of a possible explanation why the red warning text on the first splash is generated by any file within the android system as it is loaded before any android component. the first splash has its own dedicated area on the and from what i know from the HD2 it can only be altered by a flasher that is capable to write to that adress range. That again is only possible if security is disabled (S-OFF).
If this theory is wrong please correct me but i am fairly sure the red warning cannot be undone by removing carrier IQ related files.
So what exactly does this record/report?
Well google pointed me at A LOT of info about this, I had no idea about it till now. Was surprised to see how many people have open suites going on with the company. I used the voodoo scanner and it's on my phone but it says it's not running. I am going to rip it out anyway, can't trust companies these days.
Well followed the steps and it's down to 170 now.
Lol

Hey fellow One Sv users! Sorry for the trouble, but this is annoying me. I have the One Sv (obviously), K2_CL Boost Mobile. I have rooted, i have jelly bean 4.1.2, and Sense 4. i haven't flashed any custom rom on my device. i also have S-OFF. I downloaded "Trev-e's wifi tether for root users", and looked at numerous threads in this forum to try and get it to work. i have backed up and uninstalled TetheringGuard with Titanium Backup. yet no matter what device profile i use, the access point is not seen by laptop or other devices, or it is seen and does not connect, although the Upload and Download speeds increase on the app. So, can someone please attempt to help me figure this out if you have the time? it would be much appreciated. I follow threads on XDA religiously, and have seen the work of @Modding.MyMind and @russellvone . I realize you guys must be tremendously busy trying to get Sense 5 and 4.2.2 to work on our wonderful device, but as soon as you get the time, i would love for anyone to try and get this to work for me. I can test, in return if needed. thank you.
Using a file manager like es file explorer or something similar go to /system/build.prop and copy it to either your internal or external sd card. (you can do it on your pc using notepad++ if you like). Now open it up and look for what is highlighted in green provided in the picture. On yours they will say 0. Change them to 1 like you see in the picture. Once done go to my next post for more instructions...
Sent from my K2_CL using Tapatalk
Now look in the build.prop file what is highlighted in green in this next provided picture. Yours will say true. Change it to false like the picture shows. Once done, go to my next post for further instructions...
Sent from my K2_CL using Tapatalk
Now scroll to the bottom of your build.prop file. Given the picture I provided highlighted in green, add that in to your build.prop file. In the picture you will notice there is an extra line that is blank. Make sure yours has that also. Once complete go to my next post for further instructions....

Once you have completed the above steps go ahead and save the file. Now before proceeding make a backup of your original build.prop file for safe keepings. Now cut the modded build.prop file over to /system/ and allow it to overwrite the original build.prop file (you will need write permissions for the /system to do this or you will be denied). Once it has been overwritten make sure you set the permissions to the modded build.prop file to rw-r-r as seen provided in the picture. Once you have set your permissions go ahead and reboot your device.

Oh, I also forgot to mention... If you go to /system/apps there is a system app called tetherguard.apk and .odex.
Rename those by adding an extension.
tetherguard.apk.pka
tetherguard.odex.dexo
You will need to reboot after you do this. Otherwise, your tethering will kick in and out periodically.

i apologise for the inconvenience. @Modding.MyMind . But i have edited the build.prop exactly as you have said, and when i go to use the built it wifi hotspot app from Settings, i try to connect my laptop to the access point and it continously tries to get an internet connection until it eventually fails. i have tried this with both no security and WEP, WPA(TKIP), and WPA2(AES), with no luck. Anything else you suggest, o mighty one? (I mean that with the utmost respect, not sarcasm lol)
usb tether is better in my opinion if just tethering one laptop.
use the Wi-Fi for root.apk
Device-Profile is set to Generic ICS/JB (wlan0), Setup-Method is set to Auto,*

Thank you @russellvone , but when using those settings, my computer doesnt see the hotspot at all, even though the upload and download speeds on the app increase. I don't know what the deal is.
I'm sure you'll just have to type the ssid in manually on your laptop,
then enter password(if you choose one)

I manually entered the SSID on my laptop, windows 8.1. But when it tries to connect, again it shows the message "the network is taking longer than usual" and connects with no internet access and the wifi bars on my laptop get that little yellow warning sign overlay. @russellvone

clockworkmod tether....
it's flawless when I use it
no matter what OS I'm tethering to ubuntu/Windowsxp/7/8/8.1
it's simple to install, then just plug in and surf away
side note: you won't be able to get it from the playstore, boost blocked it so just search in your browser for it

I ran into the same problem when I formatted my tecno n9. Here is what you need. The whole problem is caused because a system app called salestrackersystem. apk is either corrupt or deleted. And I don't think you can't get it anywhere except another n9. But if you need it I can send it to your mail. First after getting the file, ensure your device is rooted. If it's not you won't be able to access the system applications folder. Also get a root Explorer like es Explorer or xplore. I know you're wondering how to go about it since the phone won't allow you do anything. Each time you press OK to the message on your phone screen, you can quickly press something else under but you must be patient enough and fast enough to quickly press whatever you want. You can put the apk file I told you on your phone through, blue tooth, flash share or USB cable. Next launch the Explorer, locate the apk file then copy. Next goto device memory, system, app then paste. It may tell you that the file is there already click ok and overwrite. Then press OK and that annoying message will stop. This is not the end, locate that all file in the system app folder, click on it and hold it down to display other options. Then go to permission you will see three columns, the first column is marked compete, the second column is marked one but for the third column, you have to unmark or uncheck everything. Then reboot your phone immediately else you will have to repeat the whole process again. If you can't get the apk file from your friends call me 07087187605. I'll mail it to you. If you have any questions about this Pls get across to me I'll be willing to explain cos I know exactly how one feels when you can't use your phone cos of one annoying pop up message. Next time also back up all your apps using titanium backup before messing around with your phone. I have learnt this the hard way. How this helps.

solution worked for others
Just like tot, many people are running into the same problem and currently I've been able to help all of them. And their phones are back to normal. Pls it would be nice if you could just click thanks or attest to it so others can be encouraged to get help.
The number of those having this problem is increasing but the good news is I've been able to help them ALL. Some where able to follow the instructions I gave earlier while others had some other difficulties that they had to get back to me.
I will be addressing one of those problems.
The first thing is the choice of Explorer to use, I've found out that using xplore seems to be the better option because that pop up well only allow you a split second to tap any button. So I'll suggest you use xplore.
Others after downloading xplore, and getting the salestrackersystem. apk for from me still couldn't manage to overwrite the one in the root/system /app folder. This is because they have not granted xplore the root permission needed to copy files directly to the system folder. So to do this., launch the Explorer, click the option button on the top right hand corner, select configuration, Mark "show hidden files, select root access and choose" superuser + writable ". Then follow the corner post, there shouldn't be any problem. If there is then join xda so you can post in this forum and I'll be able to help of call the number given earlier.... Later

hello everyone, I'm sorry if I haven't responded to some requests in time the thing is I don't come here very often I've been busy. that's y I left those numbers. different people from different places have called and at NO COST AT ALL. I helped them in various degrees. so do yourself a favour by making one minute call or send a text simple. no one is asking u to pay any amount. just one call or text that's all
download the file when u get it via link ill give to u. i would have posted it but i heard some people might abuse the privilege and try to install it by clicking it directly. it will tell u that the application did not install but the phone should be working fine after that. some people have reported this worked for them. so try it and if it doesn't work for you use the method I explained earlier.

MODIFIED TO NOW WORK WITH VERIZON.
Confirmed working on Verizon Retail Edition and Dev Edition (no flashing involved, just what is listed here)
Here's a zip you can flash on firmware NCG. Thanks to @BigBot96
NCG auto enabler
OKAY guys I got it working. See screenshots. AND FOLLOW THESE STEPS
Requirements:
Use this services.jar NOT the one from the zip. https://www.dropbox.com/s/3vjq70yfdxrmmj9/services.jar
Root
ES File Explorer (make sure Root Mode is enabled)
v2.1 odex file from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2719582
YMMV, so I recommend copying these two files from your system folder to somewhere safe (external sd or PC) just in case something goes wrong.
GOOD LUCK!
1. Download/unzip the services.odex file from the zip. Download modified services.jar from here (https://www.dropbox.com/s/3vjq70yfdxrmmj9/services.jar )
2. Copy Both files to the /system root folder
3. Fix all permissions to rw-r-r (3 checks in first column, first check in second, rest blank) DOUBLE CHECK THIS (See Attached)
4. Copy services.JAR from the system root folder to the /system/framework folder, overwrite.
5. Copy services.ODEX from the system root folder to the /system/framework folder, overwrite again.
6. Reboot
Mine took a few minutes to boot up, and reodexed everything "Android is updating apps".
?????
Profit.
CLICK THANKS.
btw HUGE thanks to RevelationOmega for doing the hard part!!
Also thanks to joshw0000 and Joderme for testing/helping me come up with this!

No problem! Figured it can only be a soft brick easily fixed by flashing stock again. Better to re-set everything up and do a 15 second root than it is going about having to get a whole new phone

Might be a bit late.. but chances are ADB was still active. When I was trying out to remove the hotspot restriction manuaĺly, by uploading a recompiled framework-res.apk, it also got stuck at the verizon logo in the boot process but i was still able to use adb to replace the file with the original and when it finished copying the phone completely booted.
Anyone willing to send me their services.jar file and test for me? I'll see if I can get this working for you guys.
