I ran into the same problem when I formatted my tecno n9. Here is what you need. The whole problem is caused because a system app called salestrackersystem. apk is either corrupt or deleted. And I don't think you can't get it anywhere except another n9. But if you need it I can send it to your mail. First after getting the file, ensure your device is rooted. If it's not you won't be able to access the system applications folder. Also get a root Explorer like es Explorer or xplore. I know you're wondering how to go about it since the phone won't allow you do anything. Each time you press OK to the message on your phone screen, you can quickly press something else under but you must be patient enough and fast enough to quickly press whatever you want. You can put the apk file I told you on your phone through, blue tooth, flash share or USB cable. Next launch the Explorer, locate the apk file then copy. Next goto device memory, system, app then paste. It may tell you that the file is there already click ok and overwrite. Then press OK and that annoying message will stop. This is not the end, locate that all file in the system app folder, click on it and hold it down to display other options. Then go to permission you will see three columns, the first column is marked compete, the second column is marked one but for the third column, you have to unmark or uncheck everything. Then reboot your phone immediately else you will have to repeat the whole process again. If you can't get the apk file from your friends call me 07087187605. I'll mail it to you. If you have any questions about this Pls get across to me I'll be willing to explain cos I know exactly how one feels when you can't use your phone cos of one annoying pop up message. Next time also back up all your apps using titanium backup before messing around with your phone. I have learnt this the hard way. How this helps.

I tried to attach the file here but it's telling me upload failed. But I'll keep trying.

solution worked for others
Just like tot, many people are running into the same problem and currently I've been able to help all of them. And their phones are back to normal. Pls it would be nice if you could just click thanks or attest to it so others can be encouraged to get help.

The number of those having this problem is increasing but the good news is I've been able to help them ALL. Some where able to follow the instructions I gave earlier while others had some other difficulties that they had to get back to me.
I will be addressing one of those problems.
The first thing is the choice of Explorer to use, I've found out that using xplore seems to be the better option because that pop up well only allow you a split second to tap any button. So I'll suggest you use xplore.
Others after downloading xplore, and getting the salestrackersystem. apk for from me still couldn't manage to overwrite the one in the root/system /app folder. This is because they have not granted xplore the root permission needed to copy files directly to the system folder. So to do this., launch the Explorer, click the option button on the top right hand corner, select configuration, Mark "show hidden files, select root access and choose" superuser + writable ". Then follow the corner post, there shouldn't be any problem. If there is then join xda so you can post in this forum and I'll be able to help of call the number given earlier.... Later

hello everyone, I'm sorry if I haven't responded to some requests in time the thing is I don't come here very often I've been busy. that's y I left those numbers. different people from different places have called and at NO COST AT ALL. I helped them in various degrees. so do yourself a favour by making one minute call or send a text simple. no one is asking u to pay any amount. just one call or text that's all
download the file when u get it via link ill give to u. i would have posted it but i heard some people might abuse the privilege and try to install it by clicking it directly. it will tell u that the application did not install but the phone should be working fine after that. some people have reported this worked for them. so try it and if it doesn't work for you use the method I explained earlier.

build prop help?

What's up? Well I am a supper newb here so bear with me on this one please. This is the deal I am trying to edit the build prop with "es file explorer" so I can make my g2x think it's a different phone for two reasons, one is so I can get skype with video chat on it & second is so I can get neflix on it. When I Go & do it The Xda Way & Hit Save I Get A Message Saying "Error occurred when trying to save the file. It Will not be saved". Also, here is some info about my phone I am running the ota 2.3.3, I am thinking that's why I cannot do it? If anyone can help me out I will appreciate it thanks in advance. Oh & by the way I did root the phone, if that makes any difference.

You can't get skype with video working, and if you do please PM on how to haha, second you have to go into settings and check "root helper" or like "root something" and right below that check "make writable" this is assuming you have a rooted phone, wont work without it. Sorry.

how do i root it? as far as i know i had done it following this youtube .com/watch?v=ob4TCJ_K_S0 but my phone is telling me it's not rooted
use root explorer to edit...... go to system and the tab at the top touch it.. the folder will become r/w... then long press the build prop and open in text editor.... it will automagically save the old prop as a backup...

I can't get root explorer because you need a credit card to buy it & I do not have one & you can't get it billed to the account like a lot of apps let you do. PS I got it free & the newest one I am going to try it out now what you said
Be very careful. Some roms, especially stock and also some CM roms, won't work if you change the name in the build.prop. This info is used for booting the phone. You could render the phone in a bootloop or just locked up at boot. Better to leave the build.prop alone if you are not an expert in Android development.
You can also change build prop using root tools. Google search for the apk or download aptoide from market and dl from there if the server hasn't already been killed.
I changed mine a couple months ago to htc visions for netflix purposes, long story short I went back to p999. I suggest you leave yours as is.
Sent from my MIUI G2x
First go to the market get a app called 4share download register with real email the once ur in hit menu search root explorer tap on root explorer it will install its free also check xda forums for zip file that will automatically root ur phone (gx2) in cwm just choose install zip from SD,choose the root zip u. Just downloaded and ur good

Here's what you need to do.
Assuming that you have already rooted your device, use any file explorer app and go to 'etc' folder of your device. (I used Root Explorer and did this on my Samsung Galaxy Tab N8000).
In 'etc' folder, locate the file called hosts.
Touch/press and hold the icon of the file to get its context menu and open the file in text editor.
In the file, there will be one IP address to the localhost, i.e. 127.0.0.1. Leave this as it is.
There will be a second IP address which may vary depending upon your region or country. Put a # in front of it. (eg. #245.45.14.14). This will mark this entry as a comment and the device won't read it.
(I would suggest that you backup 'hosts' file before making any changes. In my case, a 'hosts.bak' file was automatically created when I saved the file after editing.)
Save the file and reboot your device.
This should resolve the issue.

That's really strange. You should be able to edit the file as rooting process needs a reboot too. Well you can still try a workaround.
* Copy all the contents from the existing host file.
* Create a new file either on your smartphone or use a computer to do so. Make sure the name of the file is 'host' (without quotes) and file does not have any extension like .txt or .doc. If the file has any extension, remove it while rename the file.
* Now paste all the copied contents from the existing file to the new one and then make the changes as I mentioned in my answer.
* Save the file and replace it with the existing one.
Let me know if this helps.
Thank You

[MOD] Exchange Security Bypass - 4.4.2

This is a tested and working Exchange Security Bypass that I am using on my AT&T LG G3. This mod should work on any variant of LG G3 that is running stock or AOSP ROM's.
All credit goes to the below developer, I was simply looking for a solution to bypass the exchange security policy that required me to have a password or pin on my lockscreen. After several tests using Xposed Framework and other APK's I came across this and it works flawlessly. You can see the developers thread here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1965468
DISCLAIMER: I'm not responsible if:
• You get caught by your employer and are punished in any way
• This bricks, breaks, scratches, dents, misplaces or cracks your phone
• This security bypass leads to any negative outcome.
USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
I have rooted my phone and used Root Browser to perform the following steps (You can use ADB as well, please follow the guide in the link above).
Instructions:
1. MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR STOCK EMAIL (LGEmail.apk & LGEmail.odex) - Copy and place it in another folder incase anything happens and you want to revert.
*Stock LG Email is located in system/priv-app2. After your make a backup, delete the stock LGEmail.apk and LGEmail.odex files
3. Download the files attached to this post and put them in the system/app folder
4. Change the permissions of the two new APK's (Exchange2.apk & Email.apk) to rw-r-r (DON'T FORGET TO DO THIS)
4. Once the 2 files (Exchange2.apk & Email.apk) are placed in your system/app folder, click on them and install
5. That's it...close out of your root explorer, open your new email app and set up your exchange account. :good:
I hope this helps users who are looking for a solution to their exchange security issues like I was. Enjoy
btw u can only do this if u are rooted..for those who arent dont even try it

It should not be necessary to delete the LGE apps, the two can work side by side. And if you are set on disabling the LGE app it is probably better to freeze it with TBU than delete, in case you change your mind later.
Those contemplating the use of this mod should keep in mind that the LGE stock email app is FAR, FAR, FAR more intelligent than the stock KK email app when it comes to autoconfiguring your Exchange connection. In fact I recommend running the LGE stock app first, then going into settings and taking a screenshot to document how the account was configured. You will almost certainly have to enter this information manually into the KK app because it will be unable to figure it out on its own.

Go to data/system and there is a file locksettings.db. Open it in SQL editor. Next tap on locksettings, and u should have a item listed as lockscreen.password_type . Change the value for this to 0. That will change lockscreen to swipe to unlock.....

I'm assuming I'd need to set up exchange first and once it enforces the password lock I'd need to modify the file? I would assume when adding an exchange account it would change change that value.

Yes sir, you got it. I always use this method, with stock exchange email.
LG Email has no widget, which is a killer for me. I'm following all the directions above but unable to install the Exchange, though the Email was easily installed. Any thoughts on why?

I realized I edited the database incorrectly...I had to reset my phone by going into recovery mode, but this method does work if you edit the database just as described.
Would anyone know what the "value" should be if you want knock code instead of swipe to access phone?

Run TBU, touck checkmark icon in upper right of screen, wait for "Calculating scenarios" message to complete, scroll down to Freeze/Defrost, touch appropriate option (could the color scheme of TBU be any more awful than it is? sheesh, the developer must be color blind ) then select apps to freeze/defrost.

One odd thing is happening. I have root explorer installed and from that application, I browse to the location where the locksettings.db file lives. However, when I click on the file and the "Complete Action Using" pop up window comes up, I don't see SQL Editor as one of the choices there. Alternatively, I thought I'd just open SQL Editor directly and try to edit the file in there; this does not work since SQL Editor has not been granted root access.
Anyone know if there's a way to grant a specific application root access?

Malware disguised as system app: how to remove it?

Hi guys! I'm here asking for your help for a problem that is riddling me.
My mother got (against my advices..) a chinese Yuntab E706 tablet. She has been using it for a while, but she started noticing abnormal popups, installed apps etc.
Tried running Avast and Malwarebytes that found some PUPs. two of them found by avast kept on being reactivated on reboot. Malwarebytes found this:
Android/PUP.Riskware.SilentInst.a in /system/priv-app/Xfota/Xfota.apk
Suggesting me to remove it: impossible, because it was a system app called "Online Update"! So it suggested to disable it: neither this option was available!
So I tried wiping cache and restore to factory setting.
After that, I tried firing up again Malwarebytes and voilà, it found the same malware, again in "Online Update" app. Also android marks this, in notification bar, as potentially harming for the devices, suggesting to disable it. The button disable doesn't work, though the app is listed under disabled app. Also Malwarebytes says it is disabled and could not do harm; I'm worried anyway about all this story, what should I do? The tablet is not rooted anyway.
Thanks everyone in advance!
try these tricks
Nice one. I feel ur pain. 1st u must find & do everything possible to root the phone. Then once rooted successfully via Kingroot and sorts. Download rootuninstaller, titaniumbackup or 3c toolbox pro to force remove the virus after granting root access.
Alternatively, u can boot into safe mode by preesing power button to display power options, then press-holding the "power off" option to reveal "boot into safe mode" which when booted into allows you to undo changes done by apps that can damage your phone.
Pls feel free to ask questions.
Gud luck!

1st try to find out ur processor type, whether it's qualcomm, or mtk or powervr, or whatever. try gsmarena.com to check ur fone's specs or manufacturer's website. knowing fone's processor type make choice of rooting process easier.
well most china fones meant for international market ought to be mtk
try latest version of kingroot apk app[requires internet] in rooting d fone
And if fone is "mtk", we can use mtkdroidtool pc app & spflashtool pc app to create scatter file & extract, from d fone, the boot.img & recovery.img which can both be used to create a twrp custom recovery tailored specifically for ur fone.
pls try all these out diligently & give feedback.
best of luck!
P.S.
i actually found out the fone is mtk i.e. mt83321; dwnld & install out latest kingroot apk on ur fone with internet connection
then head over to http://www.theandroidhow.com/2014/05/how-to-make-backup-stock-boot-recovery.html?m=0, read those instructions carefully, download the required softwares and get the processes started.
best of luck!
@HellFire90
BTW, xfota is not malware it's the Over The Air updater used by some Chinese phones, that said it pretty much behaves like malware so I'd say it is.
I don't know how to root your device but if that nonroot method I posted works then you don't have to. Be wary of root apps, some will be worse than your current problem… especially if from some random website.
i've decided to help u all the way & i've created assortment of files for u to download. First head to https://drive.google.com/uc?id=0BygHnAHGWWirc1JKZWdFUWZGR2M&export=download, and download and extract the zip file. Then read the read_me_1st.txt, and get back to me.
@HellFire90
Kingroot is one of the most effective rooting apps but it comes with adware! Also I have doubts about just what info is sent back to China so I've never used it. See the XDA thread about it, they suggest replacing it with supersu after rooting or whatever, I can't remember exactly,

1st install all android usb drivers [those .inf files] from Computer Management, and then Device Drivers.

HONOR 8 (FRD-L09) only google voice keyboard, CAN'T setup phone to use.

Hello!
I have Honor 8 and after I reset the phone keyboard has dissappeared. I had problem to connect to wifi because i can't type password, but i tried with open wifi so it helped. After that I can't get past the "Verify your account" login phase because Google voice keyboard won't let me "speak my password" so i'm stuck.
I Thought i could install 3rd party keyboard with using only PC, but if i connect phone to PC it will install drivers and show phone icon in "This PC". If I open Honor 8 folder it just says "This folder is empty".
What can i do? can I get past this somehow or is it possible to do a full re-installation with using PC somehow.
I'm quite a noob with these things so "step to step" guide would be great if someone can solve this.
Try a factory reset. That will put the phone back into original state. Use the original bootloader menu to wipe phone.

1)Open the Google app

3) go to your wifi settings and enter the wifi key using the keyboard

Thanks for these tips, but i can't try them because i can't do anything with this phone before i can log in to account because it's FRP locked. So i would need to get logged in before i could do any one of those. So unfortunately not one of those were possible for me to try.
So the main problem is that it is FRP locked and I need to log in to google account before I can do basicly anything with this phone.
1. Can't try before i get to homescreen
2. Can't get to file manager before get to homescreen
3. Can't go directly to google app before I get pass FRP lock as every one of those.:crying:
But thanks for your effort.:good:
Hello,
is the bootloader unlocked? TWRP installed?
TWRP I dont have. And i'm not sure about bootloader but I think it isn't unlocked.
Your default storage is the sd card or internal memory?
Internal storage i think.

Okay! Can you give me better instructions for that?
1) put UPDATE. APP that is in the folder Update.Zip of the package downgrade in the dload folder at the root of the sd card (if the dload folder is not there, you have to create it)
2) Turn off your phone and press Volume Up + Volume Down + Power button at the same time 8 seconds
I had this issue as well. What I ended up doing was using voice to text to input my phone number instead of email to login. Google gives this option. Then I spoke words and copy and pasted the letters one by one to input my password (use proper nouns if you need capital letters). I spoke this words in the email field then copied and pasted the end result into the password field as you can not use voice to text in the password field. It was a serious pain and took awhile but eventually I got it.
The issue started after I wiped my phone remotely through Android Device Manager, once I logged in I found no keyboard was indeed installed, along with random missing apps like the calculator and clock app. Seems to be a bug restoring some system apps after wiping through certain methods.. Definitely something that should be looked into by Huawei.
