[Q] Google+ App uses MASSIVE Data traffic - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello togehter,
i have a real problem with my Nexus 5 (not rooted, 4.4.4) now.... appeard suddenly and i dont find a way to fix.
The problem is that from one day to the other the Google+ App uses big amounts of battery (up to 50% per load and sends massive amounts of data in background. I talk about up to 3 GB in 2 days (!). No i didnt made pictures that upload now and sync. I dont even use Google+ really, all i do is brwose the last 3 news once per day. Also this happens ONLY in background, when the mobile is in standby. As soon as i turn on the screen i can feel the battery is getting colder by alot (should be opposide...). Also it only shows me like 40 MB of foreground data the last days, so all ok when mobile on lol. It seems to start when going in standby...
What can it be? What i did:
1. Deleted cache of Google+ App
2. Restartet phone many times already
3. uninstalled updates of Google+ App (problem immediadetly disappeared, with this status Google+ didnt even show up in the battery list)
4. deleted data of Google+ Apps
5. put off photo-sync completley
Now all was fine, phone got cold again and data usage back to normal (i let it whole night). Then i installed the update again and problem suddenly start again, in the same second. Only in the last 20 minutes it uploaded 300 MB of data since i did the update.
When i dont do the update, there are errors using the app, so i would like to have the latest google+if possible.
I also have many other Devices like Nexus 7, Huawei P6 (4.4.2) and this is not happening with Google+ there, only n this Nexus 5. Even heere are only half of the apps installed as on the other devices.
Edit:
It gets even more funny... I turned of Wifi and witched to mobile data. Same moment it stopped to send data, even theres no restriction to do so. Like mentioned, Photo sync is off, not set to wifi only.
When switching back to wifi, the data sending starts again lol... What the hell?

OK I really something is very wrong with my device.... Look at following pics, WiFi is turned off the whole 4 hours, still it shows up with so many %, that cannot be normal...and it also shows up as activated all the time, even its not.
Then I really wonder how the battery holds so well in mobile network, I mean 1% battery drain per hour with everything activated is not really bad, isn't it? But then you see next PIC...the phone never sleeps lol. Never saw this many wakeloks without it affecting battery.
I think I have to make a reset...

thats google play service, a known issue, not g+. are you on android 444 yet?

Its Google + in this case. The pic doesnt show it. It shows the time when the bug not appears, when in mobile internet mode. If the drain appears its Google + that's on top of the list. And this drain happens as soon WiFi is activated.

in g+ setting, it sounds like you hve this enabled..

I agree my original post is long but in point 5 I said I put off that sync completely. Autobackup=off. So I guess this option has no effect anymore, shouldn't it?
But I saw this option in another place, that is the gallery itself. If I go to gallery and settings there's another photo sync, why? And why this one will be turned on even if the one in the other app is off?

Turn off constant WiFi scanning in advanced option in WiFi menu. As default it is enabled(!).
This option allows Google services constant scanning, even when you turn off WiFi switch.
When you disable that option battery should stay alive longer.
And for Google+ issue - I had similar problem. Turn off 'background data' option for Google+ - it helps.
Google+ buffers your pictures from backup (like a cache). By turning off background data - it shouldn't take place when app is closed.

Well, this is looked into by a Google support guy now. Sadly all that doesn't help. Also hardresets won't. Nothing did. They get into error reports and all that now but probably change my phone, according to him.
I made a topic about in on Google+ itself, I'll post link later.

Wich setting you mean with that? Where can i find it?
Its really unbelievable... The problem still remains, even after days of chat with google support directly. Not sure whats going on but i cannot think about how this can be hardware related and the other problem is that if i want to exchange it Amazon will probably laugh at me, since theres no visible error.

This was another advice that didnt help:
- go to your device settings
- go to Applications
- Find the Google+ App
- uninstall all updates for the google+ app
- clear app data
- Go to the play store
- go to my apps
- update your apps from the play store
- go to your device settings
- scroll to account
- tap into google
- tap into your email address
- ensure all boxes are checked.
- especially the google+ photos and Autobackup
- ensure sync is on
it should work as per normal now.
- go to google+ app
- log into app
- ensure settings are to your requirements
- go to the Photos app
- go to the left side menu
- go to On Device
- if the Autobackup Cloud icon is highlighted blue tap it to switch it off for a particular folder that you don't want to be backed up.
This is optional
- go back to the Google+ app
- From the settings go to the autobackup settings
- select the option to backup all photos now do not dismiss the notification for it.
Do all the steps described you don't have to do the optional one, but please ensure that you do the steps in that order.
10 hours after doing this it happened again and in one hour 1 GB of data was recieved, battery down 20% more and phone hot. In Standby mode...
Support has all the bug reports i made, seems either they dont find something or i dunno, at least i didnt hear from them since days now....
Maybe someone of you can see something? This bug report is of a time after the suggested advice from the google support. It was ok many hours, then i charged the phone to 100%, went to bed and 4 hours later when i woke up i saw that mobile again is hot, google at top positions and 2 GB data gone.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw2HIVhZzrqQZnh6NDFXclBZNk0/edit?usp=sharing
So what in all names is left for me? I have a hard time explaining Amazon that i really have a problem..
And i know there is something wrong because NONE of my other devices with the exactly same settings on the exactly same account this happens. On some like my Nexus 7 i have 2 more google+ accounts added to the one i use on the problem Nexus 5 and absolutley no drain here..

Ok i just scrolled through the bug report myself and i see that there are TONS of supends and task restarts until line 52710.217422, starting far up from that line, for some hours. Someone familiar with entries like that?

Thanks but the problem is only happening in Wifi. Background Data usage of G+ in 3G Mode is at 5 MB for the last 5 days. In Wifi it shows 7 GB now.

Just to let others know if they read this and have the same by any chance.
The problem was not related to any setting that was wrong or anything like that. It seems the updates (from 4.3 to 4.4.3 to 4.4.4) caused some errors when i installed them in fast order. Google Support read my logs and it seems there were many errors overall that doesnt really make sense.
So after even all the hardresets, google-tips and cache wipes didnt bring any outcome i tried to flash a factory image instead of only a hardreset, this time directly 4.4.4 and now after one week i think i can say the error is gone. I neither had any Drain from Google+ nor my Telephone service acted up. I charged 3 times now the last week and also after charging (where the error appeared before) nothing is out of order.

Hi to all, I'm having the same issue with my Nexus 5; large amount of data downloaded on wifi. In 8 hours something like 10 GB of data transferred but free space on my device remain the same
I disabled Google+ from TIB, but I like it and this is only a workaround

[Q] Background processes killed since Lollipop update?

Hi there,
since the update to Android 5.1 and EMUI 3.1 some services like Whatsapp wont work properly. That means for me:
- Push notifications from Whatsapp and Snapchat will only arrive, when I open the app -> sometimes, when I close the app from the task manager or leave it over the night
- Whatsapp forgets the names of my contacts and only shows the numbers (some background service not running?) -> fixable by "updating" the contacts through Whatsapp. Happens at least 5 times a day, even when I'm not closing Whatsapp through the taskmanager.
Every permission I could find is activated, I guess it's some kind of automatic battery saving, which I'm unable to find.
Thank you very much,
Julian
I used to have that problem as well after updating my Honor 6 to EMUI 3.1 based on Lollipop 5.1.
Updating WhatsApp to version 2.12.278 (link in the FAQ section in the official website) seems to improve. However I still have another problem which could not be resolved, I could not change the notification sounds.

I have Honor 6 too, don't updated till now. And i have another phone with Android 5.1 with same problem. Is there any third party App like "protected Apps" from Huawei? I don't have any chance do get my backgroundservices running, that unbelievable :crying: who decided this? The Charwoman? I mean, android without backgroundservices = no mor messages in lock screen.
And when i leave app open, battery usage is 4x stronger then background service....
I have runkeeper protected and still after about 1h of usage it simply stops with no errors...
I'm on an early version of DEV (rom), I think I'm going the "stable" route next.

I have the exact same issue, came across this thread looking for answers. RunKeeper (and I assume any other app as well) is simply killed after about 1 hour. I usually use my phone during walks, to for example take pictures, answer chat messages and whatnot, so I thought the issue could be that I was out of memory and that is why it closed the app. To get to the botton of it, I tried the following steps:
- Reboot the device
- Clear everything from the multitask menu
- Make sure RunKeeper is set as a "protected app"
- Start RunKeeper, begin an activity
- Keep the app open, i e not going back to home screen or opening any other app
- Waking the screen every 5 minutes or so to make sure it doesn't go into some deep sleep mode
Result? After about 1 hour, when I pick up the phone and unlock it the RunKeeper process is simply gone, killed by the system. By the way, for me it's a Huawei Mate S device, but this seems to be an EMUI issue. I'm on EMUI 3.1 (B145 europe, official release). Just thought I'd chip in. This is annoying to the point of being a dealbreaker to ever getting another Huawei until I can confirm it's fixed.
I have this problem constantly. I installed an app called "pnf no root" but it also helps temporarely. I really like my honor 6 [ h60-L12] but this is a really annoying problem. I realize that huawei doing this save battery power, but this is ridiculous. What's the point of protecting the apps if it doesn't do anything in the first place ?

Hi, I have the same problem with my Honor6 [h60-L04C900B521]. I talked with technical support and they told me to install an application locking the GPS signal . Check if it works with Endomondo + GPS Connected app but this can only fix the endomondo problem I hope.
Edit. 10.04
Unfortunately this application do nothing. Endomondo was kill after 1 hour running. Anyone have idea what to do with this?
Edit 11.05
Finally after update to marshmallow there is one option to keep endomondo while workout. Under battery in right-up corner there is settings icon and there is option "close excessively power intensive apps running in the background" this option actually works fine.

Receiving Notifications only through Wifi!

I am receiving push notifications normally on my Huawei Mediapad x2 until it is Idle for an hour or so.. I receive notifications from Whatsapp normally but after an hour of standby (or even less than an hour), I don't receive notifications anymore unless I open Whatsapp by myself, then I start receiving them again normally. Whereas Facebook for example, when I installed it first, I received notifications normally, but then I do not receive any notification from Facebook anymore unless I launch the app manually. But then Will not receive notifications again until I launch it manually again. Several apps behave like Facebook as well. BUT I DO receive notifications from all apps whenever I use Wifi!
Note that all my Notifications settings are normal, and I've set these apps to launch automatically when the system starts up.
I am a newbie to Android, I am not rooted, updated to 6.0 OTA. Please help!
I wish I could help you, but unfortunately, my notifications have been iffy since I bought the phone in Dec 2015. I'm running stock B112.
Gmail seems to provide instant notifications, especially on Wifi, but notifications on Facebook Messenger are always delayed...I usually have to open the app, at which point it refreshes and starts buzzing with messages one by one until the messages are all loaded. Whatsapp is similar, with notifications appearing on the status bar only rarely. Opening up the app however begins to load and display all messages.
I've tried everything I can, including going into the app settings and allowing all permissions, as well as turning off any of the battery life saver features that might be delaying the notifications. No dice.

I am on B112 on stock unrooted 703L and I don't experience this issue. Make sure you don't close the alp via square open apps button. Huawei kills any app if you do that or close all, even if it's protected
Thank you guys for your support. I have done a Data factory reset, and I still suffer from the same issue when the phone goes into deep sleep, I do not receive notifications anymore from any 3rd party apps. Any other suggestions please?
There's an option in system settings that allows you to keep apps alive, even when the phone has gone to sleep. You need to find that option either in the settings menu, or in the "phone manager app". I've never experience problem with apps that I've "mark/tick" to keep alive.

I have tried.. All settings are correct but still no fix
I think I have the same problem concerning WhatsApp, Wear Messages for my Smartwach and constant pulse measuring with Mi Band Tools.
All of them are only working when I open them manually and if I don't close them via square button to free my RAM and even then they don't work all the time.
I just recently updated from stock B112 to B211 but it is still the same.
I went through all options in every settings menu but it didn't help.
I also tried the app Phone Notification Fixer No Root with no success.
I don't know what else to do.
Maybe a Custom Rom would help.
I really like this phone but this "bug" makes it pretty useless.
Do you have any 3rd party task killer apps installed? Your apps are getting killed when your screen turns off.
Phone Manager -> Battery Manager -> Protected Apps. Turn ON for all those apps.
No, I have no extra task killer and I already protected all apps. I found another older thread here with people who have the same problem and one mentioned it would be a general Huawei problem with the phone manager.
In the same thread I read that you can protect opened apps in the app drawer (square button) when you pull them down. Testing this at the moment and it seems to do the trick. But I will probably test a Custom ROM tomorrow.

If that works for you then it seems what your original issue is that YOU are killing your apps manually using the square button - read my quote below which I wrote here a few days ago already.

I already stopped killing WhatsApp etc via Square before but after some time they stopped working again, maybe because of some timeout?

That is MY thread. I was able to overcome this by not killing apps via square button. If you want even better results, make the app a system app
Ah ok, sorry, I didn't look at the usernames. Well than thank you for the help
To make an app a system app I need root I guess?
I have this same issue but it's not restricted to Wifi (read on).
As others have pointed out, there used to be a setting that would allow programs to run in the background once your phone sleeps (screen off), but this was taken out in Marshmallow anyways. Even with it in lollipop the phone still does this. This is a direct consequence of both Android and EMUI, both of which have stringent algorithms intended to manage resources and save power, so that applications get pre-empted after a certain period of inactivity. This affects Whatsapp, Google hangouts, etc. Actually most of my notifications for these apps only show up after I manually launch them. This means I always miss whatsapp and Hangouts calls. ALWAYS!
So long story short, to get your notifications, just open the respective apps (manually) and they should come through (that is until Android / EMUI decide to clear them from memory).
Also, it would help if you avoid closing these apps using the trash icon at the multi tasking UI.
Hope this helps. I know its annoying, but I wouldn't give up my X2 for another phone

First off, you can still set apps ad "Protected Apps" in Marshmallow, see my post above. Also, my protected apps don't get killed unless I use the square button (which you referred to as the trash in your post). What other apps are u running that make the OS memory cleanup kill your apps?
A short update from my side:
Switched from stock B211 to KangVIP B211, still had the same "issues".
Tried the advice to make certain apps system apps.
Tried it with a app called "/system/app mover" which is free.
Moved WhatsApp, Android Wear and Mi Band Tools to system apps.
Now everything works like I know it from other phones before.
I can kill every app with the built in taskkiller (square button) and I still get notifications from whatsapp etc. instantly. Mi Band Tools constant pulse measuring also working and so does my smartwatch.
Thanks to all the people here for their guides/hints/etc., otherwise I had to sell my X2.
Don't know if I would buy a Huawei/Honor again tough.

Pretty much any app that consumes resources. For example: Chrome with multiple tabs, or Mortal Kombat X.
I also want to point out the behavior definitely repro's if I use the little trash icon (its not square, but it shows up when you use the square button to bring up recent apps), but even if I DON'T use it, Android/EMUI will eventually kill off background apps REGARDLESS OF IF THEY ARE IN THE PROTECTED LIST OR NOT.
This causes a problem with apps that need to always run, such as Whatsapp and Hangouts, where incoming texts/calls almost never make it through since the OS/skin decided to recycle their resources.

Couldn't get this to work. I installed system app mover and made sure I gate it root permissions. However it keeps complaining about busybox not found. I installed busybox as well, still no dice.
Instead I used Titanium Backup pro version (had to pay $6) and had to reboot after each app (Titanium kept hanging at processing but it worked anyways).
That didn't solve the core problem though. I rebooted the phone, made sure to close all apps, and attempted to dial my number.
Hangouts didn't receive the call because it's not "running". When I manually launched hangouts it complained about having to re-install itself. It then opened the google play store and the only option was to "open" it. Again, it refuses to open and keeps saying it needs to re-install itself.
There has GOT to be a way to get apps to act as services. This alone is forcing me to reconsider the X2 as a viable "phone"....
Thanx

Thanx

Hi, I just stumbled across a setting which *might* be your problem. Go to Phone Manager -> Battery Manager, and click on the gear icon in the top-right corner which will open a settings menu. You will get the menu in the screenshot below. Make sure the option "Close excessively power-intensive apps" is OFF

Thanks for the tip. This is already off though and the behavior still repro's.
I'm starting to believe its the Android OS itself. I did a test on an entirely different device running an entirely different OEM skin (Verizon Note 4 running oTA marshmallow) and tried opening multiple games and chrome tabs. Sure enough, even with roughly 200 to 300MB of free RAM, the OS stepped in and killed what it deemed to be "not needed". I should also point out that Hangouts notifications work just fine on the Note 4, which leads me to believe EMUI and its Nazi-like power consumption tricks may also have something to do with this.

weather gone from at a glance?

so my weather disappeared from both my Google feed and at a glance and won't come back. been this way for like 3 days now. I uninstalled Google app, reinstalled and it worked for like 15 min then disappeared again. wtf is going on?

I think this might be a recent system-wide glitch on Google's server side.
There are several other internet threads on this topic, including on the XDA Pixel 1 XL thread, see:

I've had the same problem on an og Pixel 128 gig on Android 7.2.1 Verizon variant unlocked using depixel8, rooted running old versions of SuperSU and TWRP
Cellular service on a pre-paid T-mobile MVNO
Noticed weather readout missing about 5 days ago 3/21/2018. Homescreen shows only day and date now.
Tried every trick in all the threads shown above, but nothing fixes the problem.
Uninstalling updates to Google app worked first time to get a weather reading, but it never would update and long gone now.
Hope someone under warranty escalates issue with Google.
Once temporarily restored I noticed mine disappears as soon as a calendar appointment or similar appears on the at a glace widget. Also read it's associated with you account insofar as some folk with other accounts get better maileage by switching to those accounts.
Been like if for a while for me - no fix in sight so far...
I have totally stock PIxel 2 64GB
how does Google constantly manage to f up every little thing? I just don't get it.

WOW. those morons at Google tied it into location history!! I had that crap off since day 1 in every phone because it's battery consuming and now i just turned it on and bam, weather instantly back. what a JOKE.

Interesting. Will also try that, as every other trick did not work. Weird Google Dev Guys.
Can confirm, it came directly back after enabling the location history.... Really does not make any sense for me....
Yep it is now tied to location history. They use every possibility to get your data. "You won't give us your location history? Well, than you can't see how the weather is right now"
Does anyone know a similar widget than? Having weather data is not worthy cutting my battery time in half. Also i think the location history is just ridiculous, it does not have a single benefit for me, i just noticed a way worse battery life last time i tested it.
Somehow it's working again without changing anything
so i have pixel 2 xl, and location history enabled on my phone but its still doesnt work.
anyone found a fix for issue?
I think you must update google app to version 7.24.31.
For me after update to last version weather work again
For me it is also available again, with disabled location history (and no app updates since I don't have access to any WiFi at the moment). Strange...
weird. i honestly gave up. f google. I started using nova again with HD widgets like I always did on every phone.

I tried everything above. I finally uninstalled the Google App through the Play Store, then updated the Google App (it's a system app, so it doesn't completely uninstall). That worked for me.
I managed to fix it following these steps.
1. Uninstalled the Google app
2. Opened the outdated app
3. Menu
4. Customize feed
5. Navigated to the Weather section and tapped on View All Settings
6. Disabled "Weather updates" and "Weather updates for your location"
7. Tapped on the DONE button
8. Kill the Google app
9. Went back to the store and updated the Google app
10. Open the app go to customize feed and reenable the weather updates again.
I have used various methods involving uninstalling and reinstalling the Google app. All restore the weather until after the next calendar event appears in the at-a-glace widget
I gave up trying to get "At A Glance" to work consistently. Being at the whim of whatever updates or backend changes Google decides to make turns it into an occasionally useful but mostly inconsistent, useless waste of screen space.
If you use Nova, you can use "Another Widget" from the Play Store. It's layout is identical to At A Glance and allows font, size, and other detailed customizations. It's basically a better "At A Glance" widget.
I just tried something today and the weather at a glance was back. I went into "Customize feed" -> weather settings, and changed "Preferred temperature units" from Celsius to Fahrenheit and weather at a glance was back (both in feed and on home screen). Then I changed it back to Celsius and the weather update is still there... Weird.
I tried every piece of advice I read about it and it didn't work properly (uninstall Google app, enable location history, etc.), but this did it. Hope it helps.

Mi Note 10 Lite, Global MIUI 11 ROM - Push notifications from Gmail Problem

That's a very frustrating one, very common 'feature' for all the Xiaomi bloatware. I thought 6 years later, they will finally fix the sync.
So basically, when the phone goes to sleep or at least I do not touch it for more than 5 minutes, the Gmail notifications do not get delivered unless I unlock the device. Sometimes even if I unlock it, the said emails do not pop up unless I open the app or manually click my Google account to sync.
Things I've done so far:
Check any sort of notification setting for the app itself and make sure I get the proper notification type. Also the app settings are all right.
Check the battery saver nonsense and make sure the app isn't limited in any way.
Check battery saver and make sure it is not restricting background usage for the app
Reinstall Gmail app using XiaomiADBFastbootTools
Remove and re-add my Google account to the device
'Locked' the Gmail app to the memory
Things I cannot do on this crippled Android version, but work for regular apps, are:
Set 'autostart' setting for Gmail. The app seems to be preinstalled and I cannot manipulate this option for it.
Your help is appreciated!
maybe you could uninstall the Gmail using XiaomiADBFastbootTools and later you install Gmail again from Google Play.
I'm having the same problem. I have to go into the app and refresh and so on.
Strange, never had such problems (with all apps) after configuring the data saver mode for the app. Gmail is working without a problem here
The problem seems to have gone away for the last 3-4 days, but I was mostly on data connection. No clue how. There were no system updates.
From time to time it gets stuck when I am on Wi Fi at home. Either never comes or is delayed a lot.
Most notably when the phone goes to sleep (more than 10 minutes of not touching it or not receiving any other notifications that might wake it up.
Have you checked the notification settings within gmail? Stock configuration is that it will only inform with important emails and not all emails. Maybe this is also part of the problem?

Question Battery info error

Since I upgraded to android 12 the battery information does not work correctly.
Does anyone know how to fix it?

I have this problem as well after debloating. It's driving me nuts, hopefully someone can list out what you shouldn't debloat in order for this battery usage to works.
I had exactly the same problem but in my case I still don't know if it was after debloating. Following a list in a Spanish forum, I removed several system apps and disabled others when I was still on Android 11, then I received the update to Android 12 + Realme UI 3.0 and everything seemed to work perfectly. I decided to do a factory reset only because there are functions not available like background streaming but I think it is due to the market where you bought the phone (in my case, Spain).
After that factory reset I discovered that the battery app had the same error that you mention. So I did a hard reset from the realme recovery menu but before that I tried, unsuccessfully, to "force quit" the battery app and also clear the cache. Only the new reset solved the battery problem but brought a new one: I couldn't install apps from unknown sources.
So I did a third and final factory reset, like the first time from the settings menu, and right now I think my phone is fully functional again. I did a new bloatware cleanup with ADB AppControl but less intense than the first two times, although the problem I had with the battery didn't happen with the second reset and on that occasion I was more demanding with the debloat.
The only thing that worries me now also has to do with the battery app in realme UI 3.0. Is it normal for the "battery usage" list of apps to take a few minutes to update? In realme UI 2.0 it was pretty much instantaneous, I'm worried I've broken something forever with the debloat and the factory reset. Here you have a screenshot with my battery usage after the third reset and without debloating.

It sucks but debloating definitely had something to do with it. I did factory reset too and now it's fine. Also had the late update on battery usage stats but I think it will work out after some times, let the phone stabilise itself and all that.
I haven't debloated mine atm so I'm wondering what have you removed while still having the battery usage working fine? Would be nice to know since I can't be bothered resetting again. I hope I can at least safely debloat most google stuff and lock screen magazine.
@NotAnotherRookie This is what I have uninstalled (and disabled) with ADB AppControl for now:
com.android.chrome
com.coloros.childrenspace
com.coloros.systemclone
com.google.android.feedback
com.google.android.marvin.talkback
com.google.android.youtube
com.heytap.music
com.google.android.printservice.recommendation (disabled)
com.google.android.tts (disabled)
com.oppo.quicksearchbox (disabled)
The original list is longer but there are google services that I use on a daily basis. There are also system apps (oppo, realme, coloros... Even one from mediatek? (com.mediatek.omacp)) that I don't want to remove in case it could be the source of the problem, although my battery app bug only started with the first factory reset. Also, I don't know if it's normal but with each reset almost all the deleted apps came back (another user of that forum told me that for him only the disabled apps returned). These are apps that I deleted in Realme UI 2.0 that have not returned:
com.heytap.openid
com.oplus.obrain
com.coloros.healthservice
com.nearme.statistics.rom
com.coloros.locationproxy (I've seen this with different names: oppo and oplus instead of coloros)
About the delay of battery app, do you remember if before the debloat your phone quickly updated the battery usage stats even if it was only seconds? I have tested it with a Realme 6 Pro (UI 2.0) and almost all the apps I used appeared instantly even if they had only been in foreground for 10 seconds. Perhaps it is because the battery app menu is different in 2.0, there is a secondary menu to check usage stats and there is a small refresh time when accessing it.

Alright thanks for that. I also kinda feel that we shouldn't debloat all of the coloros, oplus etc since it seems like scumbag realme decided to make everything connected so if you disable one of them everything just stop working hence this battery usage issue. It wasn't like that in 2.0 as you can just debloat everything from the xda guide list and are fine.
The delay is definitely after the debloat. Right now I haven't debloat anything and battery usage works just fine. I feel that this is something that will get better the more updates we get, until then this is it for us. Just gotta ride along.

I'm not sure, the screenshot I shared was without any debloat and there was definitely some waiting time or delay between using any app and being able to see it in the stats. When you say "battery usage works just fine" do you mean that, in addition to being able to see the hours of 'screen on' and all that, there is a small delay for the stats to update or is it immediate for you?
Excuse me for asking the same thing so many times, my concerns with this phone are the battery app and notifications from whatsapp, telegram, discord... (some sound a few minutes later and others don't appear until I open the app).

Right I have not debloat and it doesn't have any delay. For your issue, i think you need to go to the apps you're using, App info>battery usage>allow background activity>enable it.
This should fix the delayed notification.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing and the only thing I get is that the notification (the popup) sounds two minutes later. It is very strange, as if the message arrived on my phone in time but it forgets to notify me. Other times it is instant.
The battery app dilemma is not the end of the world but I am worried that I have damaged something. If a new problem appears over the days, I'll do another reset and this time I won't delete anything again. Thanks and another question, what tool did you use for the debloat?
