U must have app root explorer n copy those file to modules.
it is not
Open root explorer at your phone and copy the files to modules, set the permissions accordingly

im not rooted
It won't work then I guess.
you will need the lib and usr files too not just the apk plus there are 2 apks for keyboards and please come one trying to install a system app like that without root seems a bit silly.
Some apps and files from KitKat Xperia Z2 System/Media/Apps, Android 4.4.2 KitKat 17.1.A.0.289 and latest 17.1.A.1.XXX firmware.
I don't have access to Z2, All files came in an email, trying to get as many files I can. Below mentioned files are directly pulled from Z2. ( Not working though on any handset ).

already tried early in the morning when i saw it on a blog with pushing them via root explorer into system/media and also again to system/app but nothing seems to work! i got an update for album the .20 so it's not working
tried walkman n album normal install could not install.

media apps worked on my Nexus 7 2013 and live wallpaper also without root...
I am not a dev so don't know how to get above apps working on Xperia. Well I have a few more apps from Z2 firmware > SemcCameraUI.apk, SemcEmail.apk, SemcPhone.apk,SomcCameraWidget.apk,SomcLifeLog.apk,SuperVideoCamera.apk,TimeShiftCamera.apk if you need let me know can share that too but no working on rooted as well as un-rooted Z1
Do i have to rename the files or push them directly?

PM the links for all the other things i'm sure that there's a lot of devs here that would love to find a solution and get the system apps working on our lovely Z1 unless if it's only compatible with 4.4.2
You can't use because it's not a deodexed file (just apk). Upload a deodexed file or SemcMusic.odex.
Tried to install on HTC one with sense 4.4.2 ....could not install. Now when I try to install the old version...I can't anymore

Thanks bro, something missing with conscrypt.jar and conscrypt.odex to deodex these apk. Waiting for framework folder . And maybe full system dump if possible

yes I know I guess you need these files also - upload core.jar and core.odex...

Search for MiXplorer here on XDA, search for bootanimation that you like (there are tons, I'm using Nexus 5 Marshmallow )
When you download, copy it with MiXplorer to system/media /HERE, select replace, than reboot and enjoy your new bootanimation.
P. S. When you copy files with MiXplorer it automatically put right permission

I've noticed that the Sony note app is missing from the xperia xz, I've downloaded the app from the web and tried installing it but the installer just crashes on installing the Sony note app. Pls help

If moding apk file.
Remove Sony signature inside "meta-inf" and patch android-manifest.xml then signas normal app.
But may not work becuse some system app have external files needed... Like framework and jar file or /etc/permissions and more.
