[Xposed] - Enable Network Activity Indicators - Moto X Themes and Apps

I've made a small Xposed module that enables the network activity indicators on the wifi and mobile data icons in the status bar for the Motorola Moto X. Even though GravityBox provides this feature, it doesn't work for the Moto X due to differences in the SystemUI code.

It has been tested on the Moto X for T-Mobile, Verizon, and Republic Wireless. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work on other model, but you never know. If anyone tests it on a different model, please report your results back to me.

Phone model? ROM? Other Xposed modules installed?
If you are running the AOSP Signal Icons Xposed module, this one will not work because they conflict. Although I don't think that would cause it not to install. Unfortunately I am not fluent in en espanol to easily find the source of your error.

Yea the error was before installing so I think is packet error or something. XT1053 KANGAKAT stock based t mobile 4.4.2 and yes I have aosp signal icons, gb, and a few more.

No need to post a screenshot. If GravityBox works for you, then there is no sense in using this mod. I don't have a Republic Wireless model to test on, but for the T-Mobile/GSM unlocked version GravityBox definitely does not work for this feature.

Just installed it but I didn't see any changes in the icon

Thanks for the clarification and for you contribution! I was not aware it didn't work on XT1053...

It probably won't work on anything but the stock rom, because it overrides specific things in the stock SystemUI. But if you are on a 3rd party rom, the feature in GravityBox probably will work.

Work fine in my moto g stock rom thanks.

It works, but not being able to use SignalIconsAOSP is a deal breaker.

You said you're running Kangkat, so you don't even need this mod. The option to enable network activity indicators in GravityBox should already work for you.

GravityBox indicators technically work for me on stock 4.4.4. but they are commonly laid over other status bar icons or have other icons cover them up making visibility poor, looking forward to testing this out. Thanks

I read they removed it from the status bar to save a bit of juice on the additional polling required to display connection state.
And yes, changing a Boolean value can have just about any effect depending on what that value drives.

Does the camera in this rom have touch to focus functionality? I'm about to flash to this one, but I do like the camera in the desire rom..
edit-----
Nevermind, I've already flashed it.
Found 2 bugs: the camera and screen autodim
Basically this is the default nexus camera, and on the desire hardware (at least on mine) it cannot autofocus. Takes blurry shots, and the lens seems to dislike the rom..
The screen auto-dimmer seems to be stuck on really low..
Besides this everything seems to work fine. The lockscreen is perfect. Not keeping the rom though, the camera is a nogo for me.
Just hope somebody can bake this lockscreen into the desire rom
Just love this rom, Thanks Paul

No, you have to do some work:
The morphs cant be used due to semi-root that we have today. (no write permission)
And the mods may need to be converted to be able to install on this rom.

Take your time, but since your mod is based on max_choco framework, you'll need to mod that too. btw I've tried once max's framwork and when the phone was connected to some form por power supply (AC or usb) the notification led turn on, and that may bother some users, it's just a suggestion that some people may like too remove the led light issue.
You could be based on Android 4.4

WARNING!!! BEFORE YOU FLASH XPOSED
Xposed for lollipop WILL crash the LG Smart Cover app and the Weather app, while the Weather app crashes once or twice when booted, the Smart Cover will keep on crashing and will make the OS unusable, check this thread if you want a workaround which is removing the LG Smart Cover app:
Remove LG Smart Cover App
If you want the LG Smart Cover app to work, don't install Xposed yet.
Ugh, I use smart cover let's hope someone can work on a fix for it
Smart Cover vs Xposed.... LoL.... Easy choice
How smart cover fixed ??
So I installed xposed after freezing smart cover. Everything looks fine. But I got an incoming call and wasn't able to accept it, because there wasn't the call screen. So at the moment it's not a good option. Hope it will be fixed soon. I love xposed and its modules and missed it a long time. I'm on crash Rom 2.1
Subscribed! Finally xposed landed on lollipop!

Edited because of brain damage
I installed it on cm12 and meh. I find no use for it anymore with all the options in cm12 now.. Idk it kinda worked for me. But some of the modules didn't but that's not xposed fault. Could have been the module itself etc. I un-installed everything this morning.

Is there a module for the IR blaster? Would like to get my phone working with my TV and cable box.
tested modules on Crash ROM 2.1
- greenify ------------------------------------- not working
- bootmanage r------------------------------ not working
- G3 tweaksbox ---------------------------- not working
- crappalinks -------------------------------- working
- gesture navigation ----------------------- working
- intelli3G ------------------------------------- working
- MinMinGuard ------------------------------ working
- Smart alarm icon ------------------------- working
- Tinted status bar -------------------------- working
Primary reason to use this on G3 is to use Amplify for me. In order to control the insane number of NLP wakelocks. Ugh.

Thanks for this beautiful and ever so much wanted update! This will only work on rooted custom roms on Lollipop for now.. right? There's no root for my (F400k) stock rom, yet.. correct?
Anyone managed to get it running on the official CM12 nightlies? Whenever I flash it and then open the app it says I haven't installed it.

Just gave it a spin, nice app! Though I don't mind the way the status bar looks with the EMUI skin.
Interesting, it seems Huawei's skinned status bar can be disabled after all. When I uninstalled the module and saw that the status bar didn't revert to default automatically, I restarted System UI and got the stock Android status bar design. So I wonder where in the system this part of the EMUI skin can be turned off. The same should also be possible with the navigation bar and other things.
Hm, any developers around here that would like to give a shot at making EMUI 3.0 look and feel more like stock Android, both in terms of looks and functionality?

Did you activate the module in Xposed (check the box in "Modules") and reboot after you installed it? The module doesn't do anything per se to the Huawei notification bar, but instead completely re-skins it.

I have these modules

Moving status bar icons

I've a question about the interface. Unfortunately, I purchased after the bootloader unlock website was shut down, so installing a custom ROM, mod, or anything else that requires root will not be possible. I understand this may mean I'm SOL, but I want to make sure before giving up.
I've tried installing a couple different themes to no avail. I'm not sure if there's a setting I'm missing, or if this simply isn't possible, but any advice would be welcome regardless.
I'm specifically looking for two things:
Move the mobile/wifi signal icons to the right, next to the battery/clock
Remove the NFC icon without disabling NFC

NFC icon can be hidden. I think I did that using SystemUI Tuner. You have to grant this app some permissions using ADB (see description on store) and then go to app - Status Bar - Auto Detect... Disable what you want. Some of the options don't work but NFC does. You might need to reboot.
