Hello guys,
I have a problem with my Moto G, it's kind of weird.
It's not an Abrupt Drain, it's always drained from 100% to 91% in IDLE state regularly after a full charge to 100%.
Do you guys know how to fix this?
I have the screenshot below
Thak you!
I seem to have encountered this as well since upgrading to 4.4.3 (US Retail), a reboot immediately after charging usually prevents it. What's causing it I haven't had the time to figure out yet.

Today I had my AT&T One X at around 40% charge when I went to sleep. After getting up the phone had shut itself down and when I try to turn it on using the power switch nothing happens. I charged it then it starts charging from 0%. I am on stock 4.04 rom and have rooted the phone. This is the third time in a month that this has happened. I am attaching the battery curve that I got after today's incident. Please Help! Thank you very much for any help in advance.

Sounds like bad wakelocks, install Better Battery Stats to find out what is draining your battery.

I have installed betterbatterystats and will update with results next time it happens..
I too am having this problem. Though it started happening after my phone drained and wouldn't restart after charging (boot loop). After I fixed that, it's been dropping dead.
I'm on a stock rom with ElementalX 3.0 kernel. Was v2.0 when it initially started.
Any luck finding information? I still get about the same use out of it (sometimes). I'm thinking that maybe the battery's level is getting reported incorrectly?
This is a known bug, whatever the hell is causing it. Just about everyone has had this happen at least once.

How often are you having this problem. I have had this happen about 3 times in the last three weeks or so. Since my post last week, I haven't had it happen to me yet. I now have the betterbatterystats app installed and will update with results the next time I have battery drain.

It happens quite often. Happened today, then three days before that. I really don't have much on this phone either. After the initial bootloop I did a factory reset and didn't really add much.
This happened to me once on stock rom and kernel. I think it has something to do with the network trying repeatedly to connect and draining the battery. But the phone is asleep and not updating the battery percentage. When the phone finally awakes, it instantly updates the batteryfrom whatever it was before to 0. It seems to happen to people in the early morning.
There is a pretty sizable thread on this already.

I have contacted AT&T and HTC. Neither knows whats up. Went to CM 10 though and haven't seen the issue. Although, the last 2 weeks with CR Dev I didn't see the issue either. It used to happen every night.

Thought I remembered seeing a thread but couldn't find it via search.
I wonder if it's a sense based issue if you haven't seen it with CM 10. Though I didn't have any issues while using the stock kernel. -edit just read flar2's post about using stock and seeing the issue
Most likely something is draining while the phone is asleep and the battery doesn't update. You can see in my history details that when the phone wakes it jumps. Especially the ending death jump lol
I know if I have fast boot enabled and then it off, it'll drain around 10%. It only loses around 3 or 4 if the phone is shut down. I've never left it on overnight, but then again I am an avid task-killer

Hey all,
After updating my French Moto G to Kitkat my battery percentage remains unchanged at 99%.
Anyone has experienced a similar bug? What can I do to fix this?
Thanks
Had the exat same problem with my two Moto G's I ordered from Amazon.de. It seems to happen to some people after the update.
Calm down, no panic. Both of my phones still work flawlessly and battery life is same as before if not better.
So how did I fix it? I factory reseted the Moto G (probably not necessary) and then I let the battery drain to dead (from whatever % it had until it shut down). Most comfortable way to do this is probably playing, streaming videos as I did.
Somehow the update messed around with the battery calibration.
I hope I've helped you

Thanks. I'll keep you posted.
I hav been using moto g for the past 3 months. The phone worked perfectly for the 1st month. But after 1 month there is some battery drain issue.
When the phone is in standby the battery drain unexpectedly fast. i get a screen time of only abt 1.5 hours. During the night the battery come down by 25-30%(3g and wifi are both off). I have factory reset the phone but the problem still persists. I have also tried to keep the phone in safe mode when i go to sleep but the battery still drains heavily. The Battery drain in expected amount when i am using the phone. Battery saver apps doesnt seem to help the battery life. Thanx in advance.
Since you are on 4.4.2 could it be the mm-qcamera-daemon problem? The process is well known for causing battery drain if there are certain apps installed (like Snapchat or Skype).
Also known is higher battery drain after using GPS.
Maybe this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2654180 gives you some ideas how to isolate your problem

I have installed Skype. Maybe it is the cause. Thanks a lot for linking me to d right thread.
You're welcome!
So uninstalling Skype (or just updating? Not shure if there has been a recent fix) maybe help. Or wainting for 4.4.3 which shouldnt take too long

I have uninstalled Skype. but the battery still came down by abt 10% last night. so there may be another problem. 4.4.3 hopefully comes with a solution to the skype problem.

I have the feeling my answers seem a bit chaotic... Sorry for that.
Well at least now you know that Skype not seems to be the issue. I should have stated already that you could try an app like "Gsam Battery Monitor" or "Better Battery Stats" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809). They give you a detailed list of processes that consume battery.
Unfortunately I can not tell if and how good the work without root
I have tried gsam battery app. It jus showed normal stats nothing out of the ordinary... I have installed greenify n added a bunch of apps to it which I thought drains more battery. but Battery life has not increased.
I looked at d link from ur earlier reply. Many users face d same problem but for some of them rebooting solves the problem.
Don't think any installed apps r causing it.
I have switched over to ART runtime because I read that it has better battery efficiency. I'll use it for a couple of days n chk.
The battery drain graph when screen is off seems a bit steep than normal. Maybe it's a bug in 4.4.2.
Hi,
I owned a Huawei Ascend Mate 7 Gold 9 months ago, and I was very happy because I could use the phone for more than 2 days withouth charging. But recently, the battery started to drain VERY FAST .
For instance, if I go to sleep with the phone at 100%, when I wake up (8h later) , the battery is at 70% or less. With my investigation, I tried/found that:
-The problem is not caused by deep sleep mode, or at least "CPU Spy" shows that the phone is able to do it.
-I tried wipe (factory reset/partition/cache) with no results.
-I calibrated the battery but the problem persists, also I tried charging with 1A charger.
-"GSam Battery Monitor - Root" shows that 47% of the battery goes to "Android System" and another 20% goes to "Kernel (Android OS)".
The issue started at the last week, and the first thing I did was updating Lolipop (I was using it for more than 4 months) to Marshmallow 6.0 (B561). I don't know what do to now, ATM I'm underclocking the CPU, but that's a temporally solution. I always take the battery with a lot of care, I don't know why is happening this.
If someone could help me, I will be very thankfull .

same here
i have exactly the same situation with u and couldn't find a solution yet.
battery issues too
what firmware you running? I have an EU version of the phone, updated to 5.1.1 and it was dying fast. I then updated to 6.0 Malaysian rom from their website and it started to do the 2 day life. However the phone seems to just freeze and sometimes just switch off, so I am thinking of downgrading and then see if its the software or its a hardware failure. I have warranty
I couldn't find any solution yet, so I'm going to downgrage to the 4.X. I don't see benefits from Marshmallow update, also I can't hide the taskbar, so...
Actually I think I'm using CH version B561.
Edit: Fine, I can't find a downgrage pack for my version.
Hi!
My Huawei P20 is draining very fast when connected to my wireless network. I get like 20-30% drain overnight, which is huge. When using mobile data I lose like 4-5% (when I first got the phone I was having this percents on wifi also, after some time the drain started to happen) which I think it's pretty good.
Has anyone else encountered this issue?
Same problem here. I am on firmware 9.1. 0.325

I still didn't find a fix for this. There are some times when the phone works well, and others when the battery drain fast. If the phone runs out of battery and closes, when I charge it, the next couple of days it drains fast on wifi, after this it works well again.
It is a software problem for sure, but don't know what is causing this. My firmware is 9.1.0.371
I think the optimiser switches off WiFi and there is a reason for that
