Hi there,
Since my phone is a I9020A on Fido I rooted and currently running CM9 ICS rom, should I accept any OTA update or do I have to manually install it through CWM?
No, it can screw up your device if you do it like that. Just do it manually like everyone is doing.

Only difference between odex and deodex is that deodex is for theming. Odex boots faster.... And if the radio you're using right bow is working properly you don't need to flash another radio

Ok so I flashed 2.3.6 back stock for OTA rom from the thread in this section and now for some odd reason I cant access my CWM. Whenever I try to it shows some box and triangle thing flashing
tried to reflash CWM using Rom Manager and kept getting an error.
Doh!
To the handful of people getting OTA update on i9020a, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get either:
a) name of ZIP file
b) URL of ZIP file
c) copy ZIP file and upload (should be in /cache folder I think)
(preferably all three)
Once you install it the file is deleted and you lost your chance, so please if you downloaded update don't apply until you get at least one of the above...but preferably all three, you would be a hero to all of us in this thread with i9020a wanting update. This is AT&T/Rogers model.

The OP states he is running CM9 Kangs... He isn't getting the update since he is not on stock -- I think he is just asking how to actually take the OTA when it comes.
I am on Fido too in Canada and I can assure you, I have not received the OTA for my I9020A yet... Once it is available for my I9020A, I will post all the information here (if the I9020A official OTA is not already posted, that is...)
if i flash back to stock with root will i still receive OTA on ns4g?? even if with a different kernal?

I think the kernel has to be stock as well.
I just downloaded OTARootKeeper app and have reverted completely back to stock; I am patiently waiting for the i9020A OTA.
Hopefully we get it soon.
I don't mind a little wait though... by then all the other bugs and such with SuperUser app will be figured out for ICS.

I downloaded Voodoo OTARootKeeper from the android market. The description of the program claims it should hide your root during the ota and according to the apps latest reviews, it works on this ics upgrade. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it works and hopefully the super user app from the market will be updated by then to handle ics.

Also, Superuser has been officially updated for ICS, so you don't really need to use OTARootKeeper. The new SU works just like before.

Btw I'm on Telus and nothing as yet.
I have rooted T-Mobile phone, original software that came with the phone at the release date, system update is recently downloaded OTA but not installed.
Two or three T-Mobile minor APP were removed using Titanium backup.
Understanding that three is probably multiple updates since release date, and I will be loosing root:
I am trying to achieve good wifi calls and free tethering.
How do I go about to update the phone to the latest software (not interested in custom ROM): can I just install the update?
Is there a specific post or guidance for this situation? really appreciate all the help.
Android version 4.0.3
Software number:1.53.531.16 710RD
HTC SDK API level: 4.11
Kernel version 3.0.0-01053

Did you try upgrading with kies air? You can install it from the official page by doing a Google search but I don't know if it'll work since you're rooted but its worth a try.

Hello all,
Has anyone gotten the NFL Mobile app to run on a Team EOS 4 ROM? I am rocking the 4g LTE version and would really like to use this app for the draft, etc.
I am not seeing much luck in the general forums.
Thanks,
Steve
You're going to need an ICS based ROM that doesn't strip out the "BLUR" & you will need Voodoo OTA to temp unroot your device.
I use OTA stock 4.0.4 to run NFL Mobile w/Voodoo & it works flawlessly

Hmmm I tried stock 4.0.4 and still no go. Why do I need to unroot the device temporarily? Shouldn't stock 4.0.4 work if I don't want it rooted?
I finally got to a good tech at Verizon Wireless and he was able to replicate the problem under stock 4.0.4. He has opened a ticket for VZW to look into this and hopefully we might have a solution coming. I am not holding my breath but am cautiously optimistic.
Steve
Additional information...
For those of you on stock 4.0.4 here is what you need to do:
1) Install Verizon Login app
2) Install NFL Mobile app
When you run the NFL Mobile app for the first time it presents you a screen that asks you to login with existing credentials or to create a new id/pswd. You are supposed to be able to use your existing My Verizon credentials, but for some reason it does not seem to work. I created a new id/pswd and what do you know the NFL Mobile app works. You will also receive a txt message indicating your tablet was just granted limited My Verizon access, as an account member. This is the key! It seems there is a link between the registration of the tablet for My Verizon access and the NFL Mobile app working.
I am about to test using the Team EOS ROM. I will post results once I am done.
Steve
Hi all, I just got the Verizon S6 yesterday and rooted it so I could tether (I used the ping pong method btw). However, I soon discovered that my Good for Enterprise is no longer functional. Is there a workaround? And if there is not then how do I go back to the stock version? Build is G920VVRU1AOE2 btw. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

That secure software isn't compatible with root. You can odin back to stock using the link below. If you want to try root again you could attempt this. Odin back to stock. Install good for enterprise. Freeze it with titanium backup. Root your phone. Install root cloak from playstore. Then thaw good for enterprise and see if it works.

Version 2.7.1.390 still works with root, if you update past that it will no longer work. They used to offer this version on their website and it's probably floating around XDA as well. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll try and pull the apk.

That could be it. I got the server URL for the guy that did the S7 one by just going into /data/data/com.ws.dm (the data folder for our system update app, you'll have to find the package name of yours) and looking through all the files. From there it seems he looked at the desc.bin that it downloads to get the URL of the actual update package, but I don't know what he did after that to find the other files.
I believe this is an alternative possibility of getting the same result. Also it IS possible. Atnt got their software early by using this exact same method.

Yes I got that. Didn't mean it as you probably read my remark. I go to the oldest firmware as Odin doesn't let me flash any newer versions, I believe it's 4AP.... and when I do it from there it only updates me to APK1..... I just try and go back every so often to see ifor it'll work. Thought I'd repost my results thinking it be OK but I won't any more. Doesn't seem like anyone has been able to get this to work either. If some one has it would be nice to know if they were able to. I'll just wait for the update to go out from Samsung when they decide to release it.
