what happens when you go to mobile uncle and tap on go to recovery?

Install the mobile uncle tool chose the recovery update then confirm the recovery.img file now reboot. After that my phone take 5 hours to startup, I mean boot loop. Can I factory reset from my phone setting?
Does it the same thing what I doo in recovery mode?

[Q] [i9023] Blank/Black screen in recovery

Hey everyone,
Basically I was trying to flash a new ROM onto an old Nexus S of mine and when I tried to boot into recovery there was just a black screen. I pressed the power button and a single line saying "Clockwork mod Recovery" and the version number popped up. I assumed that the recovery must've been corrupted so I erased it and installed the latest version using fastboot which seemed to work fine.
Now whenever I try to boot into recovery I just get a blank screen with nothing else. I've tried using other recovery images such as twrp but the same problem happened, I just get the background wallpaper/image and nothing else.
I searched the forums and apparently people were having this issue earlier on when the i9023 was first released but now most custom recoveries are supposed to work with both i9020 and i9023.
Also the touch buttons light up and vibrate whenever I touch them when I'm in recovery mode.
Any help to this problem would be greatly appreciated as atm I have an old ROM which is buggy as hell and I need to get rid of it.
Cheers!
I had the same Issue. If you can boot into the rom, you can try to download the rommanager-app and install the recovery from there.
Hey I tried that already that and instead of booting into recovery it just went into the bootloader and said "No Recovery or Bootloader found".
Any other ideas?
Did you clicked the first point in rommanager? Install recovery, or you only hit the second button reboot into recovery?

Hey
I have the i9023 and I install rom manager. install CWM and if I reboot into recovery it works and I get in to CWM recovery.. but after reboot into os.. if I go into Rom manager and reboot to recovery it dont work? I just get the android figur and a "!".. then I just can Power + vol up and I'm in bootloader recovery..
Do I have to install CWM every time i want to use it? and can't I access CWM on boot op ?
sorry for my bad English
Normaly you have to flash the recovery only once.
Try to flash the newer clockwork-recovery with fastboot.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988686
Alfiedk: You need to get rid of this file:
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
As it re-installs the stock recovery every boot.
I think you can download any custom ROM for your phone, and flash it in CWM recovery, this will also solve the problem
Edit: Did you unlock the phone? Have you tried fastboot oem unlock?

I havent unlock my phone, but I can get in to bootloader is it then necessary to unlock ?
I try to delete the /install-recovery.sh
Yes you need to unlock your bootloader, if you dont want to reflash it all the time.

Yes I made sure I selected install clockwork mod. Like I said the problem isn't the same when I do this, instead of a blank screen, when I boot into recovery it goes straight to fastboot and tells me that I don't have a recovery image installed at all...

what happens when you try to temporary boot into the recovery?
instead of "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img", try to "fastboot boot recovery.img"
Just look for an recovery.img that works temporary and then try to flash it permanently.
I'll try it and get back to you Xziped. If anyone else can think of any other ideas please just throw'em at me, I'm willing to try anything!
Yeah no help there either. It does the exact same thing temporarily booting into a recovery that it did when I actually had it installed on the phone :\.
I updated ROM manager to the latest and tried installing CWM with that but to no avail. It still says that there is no recovery installed when I do that.

Sorry but if not even the temporary recovery boots up, i dont know what else we can do
did you try some of the older recoverys? is your bootloader unlocked?
I haven't tried an older recovery and my bootloader is unlocked.
could it be a problem with my computer as opposed to the phone itself? As in my computer is messing up when trying to flash the recovery?
I've also noticed now that when I boot into fastboot mode the menu just locks up and doesn't respond to anything. Sometimes I have to pull the battery and other times it'll start responding after randomly pressing the power key a lot of times...
I'll try an older recovery next

[Q] LG p505 stuck at LG screen....

and nothing I do get's it to go away. I have spent the better part of 8 hours screwing around with it and can't figure it out. Here is what I know:
If you just try and turn on the phone sans power cord, it won't turn on. If you plug it it, it displays the LG screen and stops. If you hold down the power, down, home keys, then power cable, it will boot into fastboot and take fastboot commands. I have followed the procedure to flash a recovery image listed here in the forums to no avail. It will erase the recovery, flash it, but will not reboot on the reboot command. When I disconnect the data cable and reconnect, it will go right back to the LG screen. I have tried KDZ and downloaded the original rom via the Original LG Firmware tool. It will communicate with the phone if I put the phone in emergency mode via the simultaneous back and volume down button while connecting the power cable. KDZ will start to install the rom but after some time, the phone spontaneously reboots and then hangs at the LG screen. Upon reboot back into emergency, the KDZ routine finishes and says it's finished but when I reboot it goes right back to the LG screen. I have tried the kdz tool in diag and emergency modes while shaking the phone. I have tried the software update tool but it says it cant communicate properly with the phone. I don't know what else to try.
Any suggestions?
Thanks a bunch!
After you succesfully flashed the recovery using fastboot, do you try to boot into recovery manually?
If that doesn't works you could try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827723

By recovery do you mean clockworkmod? If so, the phone is stock, unrooted so no, if not, what do you mean and how do I do that?
Thanks a bunch!
PS, If I follow the method I found for entering recovery it goes right back to fastboot.
PS Part two, the app you link did the same thing as I did manually and did not help.... thanks anyway...

Hey jackler1, it will not allow you to install any custom recovery if your phone is still not rooted as you mentioned.
Hence using the Home+Vol-+power combo takes you to the fast boot screen.
1st thing you need to do is to root the phone, for it to allow installation of a custom recovery.
Many root tools are available for the P500 - eg Gingerbreak, Super one click.
try this for rooting - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832485

twrp
You could look up twrp and see if its available for your phone. its much better than cwm . flashing that may solve your problem.
similar problem
I just flashed TPR with KT747 kernel (on Sprint GS3), ran into the issue a couple others had where it shuts off after boot animation and won't finish booting. I saw that the solution is wiping, clearing cache, reinstalling, clear cache again, boot. However, when I try to boot in recovery, it takes me to odin mode instead of cwm and the screen stays on "Downloading... Do not turn off target!!" So my 2 boot options at this point either freeze my phone or turn off before completing boot.
So I am unsure how to continue. Help would be greatly appreciated =)
EDIT: Ok, I think I solved my own problem. Sorry for the unnecessary post!

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8013 : teamwin recovery not opening

I'm trying to load TWRP or any custom recovery on my above mentioned tablet but i'm just not able to load it. nor even boots normally. Only ODIN mode.
when i try recovery boot, a screen saying 'TEAMWIN' will appear shortly but soon closes and 'Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1' bootscreen comes up. I can only access ODIN(Download) mode and even tried to flash different custom recovery files and it says Passed but still again getting the same TeamWin screen loading in recovery mode and crashes in the middle and then bootloop happens.
Not sure whats the problem.
PLS Help !

I was having issues at first.
Maybe give this a try and see if it works for you.
I had to install CWM via odin, and wait a good while for the "pass."
Then I had to make sure not to let it reboot on its own.
I powered off manually, and then booted into recovery like this:
1. Volume down and power on at the same time.
2. Immediate release power when you see anything pop up, but continue holding volume down.
3. Release vol down when you see the teamwin logo.
That got me passed the part where it would automatically bypass TWRP.
I then used the toolbox to do the rest including the "fix."
I had to manually boot into TWRP at first, even with the toolbox, but that was the issue I had, and how I got around it.
Philz Recovery works.

Probably, but that doesn't mean the issue was ever solved.
I'm having the EXACT same issue as OP... All of a sudden I got bootloop when starting the tablet normally, going to recovery only shows TeamWin logo briefly and tablet reboots, and download mode works (Odin detects the tablet) but it always says "DOWNLOADING... Do not turn off target.".
Already tried installing stock rom, Philz recovery, CWM Recovery, EFS Repair... Nothing worked.

If the TWRP screen is still there after you've flashed for example the stock ROM, than it's clear that your eMMC is locked.
In this case it need's to get replaced, I'm doing this weekly, so this problem is to solve.

nexus 5 stucked on google screen and twrp startup failure

hi, this is my first time on xda and I'm sorry if I'm doing something wrong here. I'm using nexus 5 since last 3 years and I was thinking of rooting it cause there is no official update after 6.0.1. so, I unlocked the bootloader installed twrp recovery and when I tried opening the custom recovery for the first time ever and it opened with some loading screen for 3-4 seconds then turned off and got stuck on the google screen and after 2-3 seconds it starts again. I searched everywhere but there was nothing like my problem. Now I don't know what to do cause I can't even open the custom recovery to wipe the data.
can anyone help me out in this situation?
thanks

You flashed twrp using fast boot commands?
After flashing twrp, did you boot into twrp from the fast boot screen?
This is called a boot loop.

First off I'd like to know what did you do to unlock your bootloader? What version of TWRP did you use? Are you sure it was for the right device?
But what you're in is called a boot loop, which is the result of a error in the OS. If it's still doing this what I want you to do is wait until it is shut down then hold power + VOL Up + VOL Down and wait until it brings up the bootloader (if it does at all.) If you access that hit the VOL Down button twice to open recovery mode. If it tries to enter the TWRP custom recovery and you get that error again, I can't help ya. If it enters the stock recovery you're golden. Hit the VOL down button until you're on the wipe data/factory reset and hit the power button. This should clear out your phone. Hope this helps.
