Hey Guys, as the creator for Galaxy Ace SIII rom for the galaxy ace, i have decided to port this to our good old sonic,,
here it is,,
Based of latest CM9 by TeamLunar
Using kernel by Ivan1987 https://github.com/ivan19871002/android_kernel_huawei_msm7x27

install process:
downlaod sonic SIII to sd card
reboot into cwm recovery
do full wipe
install rom

when i had this rom on my phone to test it finally died after 2 days with wifi and 3g on

my only issue with this rom (as with other CM9 ROMs for the sonic) is the camera does not work.

I downloaded your rom and have been testing it quite heavily since I installed it......so far I am impressed :good:
Now I did come across a couple of issues (bugs maybe) ...I will keep testing and post results
I did run the battery down from 100% down to 47% last night testing
1) My phone froze about 5 times to the point that I had to remove the battery and restart it ....(this maybe due to my testing but i thought id let you know)
2) I couldn't get any live wallpapers run properly (I downloaded 3 live ripple wallpapers to give it the SIII feel) and some apps would not run (skyvi being one of them) youtube etc are ok
3) I long press home screen to change wallpaper it gives 3 options (home ....lock....and ....home & lock) this is ok but when I select one of them I get (select wallpaper from ......and the selection box is blank but it looks like it gives 3 options (I see dividers ...these are blank as well ....If I press on one of the sections I get an error that reads Unfortunately touchwiz has stopped
4) I changed the theme from touchwiz to the system theme and it wouldn't change back to touchwiz ..I got an error saying theme was not compiled properly contact theme author
5) I ran a few internet tests......download and installs from play store super quick.......I ran browser tests this runs well but closed off on me a few times without warning

to change the theme back, you will have to download lcd density changer and change the density to 145dpi then change it to touchwiz, then once its done change the dpi back to 160

I am running the phone at it's normal pace (no changes to cpu) and still haven't found a solution to live wallpapers or normal wallpapers .....I can set a pic as wallpaper with no problem tho
Phone ...gps....3g.......bluetooth all seem to be working ok ...but wifi doesn't seem to work ...I will test this more

im not sure if it will work as my sonic is dead, but try changing the wallpaper from settings/system, I had the same problem with my galaxy Ace version,, and live wallpapers I think is a problem with cm9

Any way you could try to get the camera working? Its the only thing that has been holding me back from using this as my daily driver.

Do you know if this rom is compatible with U8655? It's sold on LatinAmerica as Y200. Currently, my phone got the screen cracked, but it was already rooted and with custom recovery installed, so when I get the new screen, I'll test it (previous backup , so I can get it back to stock, in case of failure)

Hello everybody!
Here I release an initial pre-alpha preview version of my latest work. It is stock Samsung JellyBean based on the latest WanamLite rom.
Features:
Based on Android 4.1.2 JellyBean
Based on CyanogenMod 10 (build: 23rd December)
Based on Samsung Galaxy S2 XWLSD (changelist: 889555)
Based on WanamLite rom V14.1

None of them works yet. I tried with CM RIL and it gave network, but it has some unimplemented methods and gave "com.android.phone stopped" error.

ok as adam stated that calls arent working but let me give you review of the preivew version.
As this cant b used as daily driver but its like eye candy to us.
first impression was wow.
starting from the top:
1) toggles are looking great and working like charm. Its just like GS3 or note 2.
2) it has brightness bar.
3) setting button is on notification bar.
4) It has Touchwiz 5 (I think).
5) I can see all files in file manager,means file manager are working in case of checking files.
6) you can check all settings coz setting are working fine.
7) sound are working.
8) touch is working flawlessly but dont compare it with CM10.1 smoothness.
9) Bluetooth is working great.
so, its not enough coz bug list is more then above:
1) network is not working and when u select it manually it give u Sim is not inserted error.
2) wifi is not working. somewhere i manage to Let it ON but after that setting hung.
3) GPS is not working for me coz there is no network communications.
4) video not working.
5) you can't install any applications as its not detecting the internal memory(means application storage)
6) also package installer is not working so file manager is not detecting the applications. means if u tap over applications it will give u error "No application can run this" or like that.
7) camera is giving FC.
8) there is no boot animation.
so, if there would b any catlog application inbuilt then i could provide u the logcat of all bugs.
i donno how to take screenshot in JB(i tried all combination) but didnt able to take.
but adam buddy u are great. you knew it, that if u will flash the s2 rom over your R then it could brick ur mobile permanently. but you again did it..:thumbup:

Update: I just flashed GAPPS and they work(Google Now crashes though).
Update:
30 mins of my usage: Bootanimation is the plain android 1(not samsung)
It runs just as SMOOTH as it should
It is the latest TouchWiz(With circular folder)
GAPPS are not a part of the rom. Can be flashed separately
Both Storages show on PC when usb connected.
Mass storage works for the Internal storage. Couldn't get SD card on PC via mass storage
Music Player works (Music square doesn't)
Gallery opens but full pics don't show(some thumbnails and low res pics show.)
Wallpaper change works.
Auto-brightness works
Multi-window works
A part of the dialer kind of goes out of the display(See screenshot)
Power off, reboot and hot boot are jumping me directly into the bootanimation and start the phone again
Video player, Camera apps crash.
Motion doesn't work I guess. I changed the lock to motion lock, locked the phone and the phone rebooted.
No network, wifi
Overall its great work by adam again. You are truly replacing Samsung for us now

Yeah...I ported the rom from ZTE v970 which has 1Gb rom..it is just in that.actually it has 512 itself.

Regarding OTA updates, I still have to look in to that and I'll see what I can do with this weeks update.

Bro is there option to set first sim or both sim to gsm & wcdma? As it was not there in previous miui roms? & till when will u fix wifi prob?

I suppose there is an option for choosing the first sim as gms & wcdma in engineering mode.regarding wifi,I am having that problem with the bugless rom by other developers also..So,I am thinking may be any body could test it for me

2.wifi and BT and GPS toggles not working sometimes had to reboot ..
3.cam professional mode FC
4.opening facebook app hangs phone
5. 3G option missing but works in Engg mode
Tried project mod boost works well with MIUI but same problems as above
other than nice rom but we miss MIUI updates from @Akhilendra Gadde (you)
and 4.4.4 update is not released till now...and waiting for non-stop MIUI updates from both of You...

Hi Srinath,
1 I have changed some files in the new port and hopefully the sdcard one would be fixed I suppose.
2 I have no knowledge of how to fix the toggle issue.They worked fine in the starting some boots and stopped working after wipe cache or fixing permissions after some boots.
3 Cam is working for me in professional mode too.but video is FC.I have jb out of the box.video is not working for me with any rom.So I thought that is a kernel problem
4 I have added tweaks,now their should be some significant improvement in performance.

Anyone test the rom and tell is it working?

is there any update releasing because OTA update link is not working so still i'll get updates on mobile?
and WIFI, Bluetooth and GPS toggle issue is there or not, please confirm.

Hi,
You will get updates on the mobile and the zip downloaded has to be tweaked as stated in post #1 to make it flash.
Regarding the toggles,Every toggle is working flawlessly.
In the initial setup for Wifi, one has to install V6 SuperCharger and do Super Clean from the options in script to make it work.

a 'different' kind of rom, as most folks know. too much proprietary stuff in here.
the rom zip is also different from the dev's other rom. maybe it's the customisation.
out of curiosity and wanting to delete unwanted stuff, i opened the rom zip....
well, i tried 3 'variants' of the rom. all of them installed and booted fine.
1. with some stuff removed from /system/app
2. with the /data folder deleted
3. the rom, as downloaded.
in the first 2 cases, even basic customisation is not possible. in the 3rd case, too many notifications despite turning them off.
in short, i couldn't further customise the rom to my liking. needless to say i reverted to stock.
forgot to mention i got system ui fc on all 3. i don't recall the exact situations, though.
thanks for the effort. i'm sure there'll be a few takers for this rom. i'd like to read about their experiences.

i saw that too. dunno what's gonna happen when that update is applied.
if you're gonna update, make sure you have a nandroid backup at hand - to revert, if required.
i couldn't find a way to disable that update-check. also, too much of baidu/xiaomi interference.
a simple thing as trying to set your desired ringtone fetches a load of chinese [email protected] from their servers.
maybe i shouldn't complain; i really didn't spend enough time with the rom to judge harshly.

Its totally a stock MIUI.
So it has many chineses apps (which u can delete without harm)
Dont even bother about about the update
see the picture closely
one word weekly
tell u everything:laugh:
Just switch off that notification.
Just use wsm tool -the exposed of MIUI.
install MI tools, theme authentication
and good togo
My phone looks like almost iphone with ios theme.
Its ok if u dont liked it

12 hours of moderate usage only 40% drain its great
Only problem I found when ever I take pic from default camera its viewable, it say like no tumbnail. Is there any solution for that. At present I'm using other camera app

When given update after download, it reboots to recovery and tries to flash but its gets a error message which persist only for a blink of a sec and reboots back to present version. Couldn't even read what's the error

Try clearing chache of camera app.
settings - apps - camera app - clear data - clear chache.

U shouldn't update like that.
the rom has to be modified.
As they release roms each week updating is just not possible.
we are using most stable version:laugh:

Unable to use camera after flashing from kitkat. I dont know what is the problem. flashed the patch file also. tried with other roms. But no JB roms working when flashing from Kitkat

HOW TO INSTALL
Use custom KK recovery from here.
I prefer [CWM Advanced Edition] PhilZ Touch 6.57.9 - cwm 6.0.5.1.
(Internal sd-card refereed as sdcard00, external as sdcard01)
Download rom zip file.
Put into sd card.
Flash the desired recovery.
Boot into recovery.
BACKUP CURRENT ROM
Wipe for flash of new rom.
Or wipe data/system/delvic cache/cache.
Select Install From SD (Internal or External)
Select the zip file and Select YES
Reboot.
THINGS TOBE NOTED
First boot takes time 3-5 mins so be patient.
wait until it boots.

I've one question, instead of porting large no. of rom, can we port a single rom n try to add as much features to the same, by providing updates??

This rom is Nice,but it hás problems:
Gmail FC
file manager buggy /root explorer works 100%
Music icon is from LG, change it to a android L icon or just add Google
Play music ( it doesnt work also, i vê tested a bit after)
I personally dont like this settings style ,emoji2]
i prefer LEGEND V8 settings style or VIBEKAT ROM )
Câmera works good but vídeo only shows 480p recording!
Refer this rom as beta stage, not for daily usage yet ...my opinion only.
Great work anyway.

i hope you wouldn't mind my responding to your post, although it was addressed to smokerman.
see this post once again. but, users not responding is not a nice thing.
it's only when people post their experiences (good or bad) that others get interested and the thread sees action.
in the case of your threads, the chances of this happening are very slim; there's a rom coming out every (other) day.
how do you find time to test your (daily) roms exhaustively before releasing them?
and, most importantly, how can you possibly find time to respond to users' posts?
i myself would like you to respond here and here. hope to hear from you soon.
i'd also like to see your reply to my pm sent a short while ago.

Maximum users have fear of bricking their phone n loosing data all the time and some don't hv enough time to test every rom.
For the same purpose, I'm trying for a custom kernel. Even when I'm a noob, using xolo q700, i tried to test a custom kernel, developed by a friend of abhi2hd, but that's not fruitful. U can find kernel source there in Q700 thread, if u need.
We should aim for custom rom like purexperia z2 by bgos 10.

They can take backup and also can easily unbrick actually.
Maybe all of them are much busy.

no one is bricking the phone..i ve made 2 tutorial videos to install a new custom rom, i will make a new video with more explicit instructions and step by step since the beggining..

Restoring
hi bro..i want to test all your roms but is there any way by which i can restore data from prevoius rom like apps and contacts and message..in new rom rather than installing it again..

Use titanium backup pro its the best way to restore app, data, messages even call log. For Contacts u ll always have google sync.

Yeah avi bro, even I feel the same as sachin bro, ur amazing for taking time for developing large number roms. I never seen a developer with so much potentional for developing large number of rom in short time, I feel we have to put some good features in a single or few good ROMs or porting cynogenmod rom
So far features I liked are and these are most possible things.
- lenovo camera v3.6.6 and gallery
- listveiw animation
- customizable like cyno n ansp
And these features I expect to see
- android l swipe down quick settings, dialler, incall, message, lock screen notifications, float notification
- multi window (for large screen we have)
- xperia camera brivia engine or galaxy camera
-beats audio
-best battery backup out of the large battery we have
- gaming performance

ROM is smooth and lag free, performances is good, but in notification and quick settings its looks mess and laggy.
Battery is good, 10% drain even playing game for about 1 hour.
Settings idea is new but messie
L call app actually runs over the in call scree too, its bit annoying, I would be nice if only L-call pops.
Icons r great n new.
