[SOLVED] "Error while searching for networks" Multiple ROMS - HTC Desire S

Hi,
Wondering if I could pick your brains here!
I updated to ext4 touch recovery (1.0.0.6) (My device is s-on) and tried to install CM11. Flinny's and Devil-kins and I think one more. Even though they went through ok, each one wouldn't connect to my mobile network and got the error above.
I decided to flash back to Pac v23, but am still having the same issue.
I did a full format (without SD card), installed the zip. Then installed the gapps. Then used Terminal to fastboot flash boot.img.
Just wondering is there anything I can do? All settings are intact in my APN.
I'm on the Irish O2 network if that makes any difference?
Thanks.
Sorry impatience got the better of me. Ten minutes later my network was back and working!

Jellybean update stuck

Hi Guys,
I have been searching for a solution to my problem, but have come up empty handed so far, thought i would post to see if anyone can help me here.
I have a Xoom EU 3G, it currently has a EOS ICS Rom on it.
I am trying to flash it to the EOS Jellybean ROM.
I am copying the rom, and gapps to the SD card, and rebooting to the clockworkmod Recovery V3.2.0.0, and perform the wipes and resets as the guides tell you.
I then select the install from zip option, and choose the new rom, how ever it kinda get stuck on "opening update package" spends ages there, and eventually goes back to the recovery screen. I thought it finished, so i installed the GAPPs, but after rebooting it was still running ICS..... any ideas where I am going wrong?
Thanks
Try flashing eos recovery and then try it
i'll see if I can get that recovery on it, i was trying all sorts of things yesterday, and now the tablet is stuck on the motorola logo :/
I may need to use the computer to flash it now
Well I managed to change the recovery rom to the EOS recovery touchrom, and i downloaded the nightley 101 onto my sd card, but when i go on the step install from SD card it still get stuck on opening update package..... i left it for over a hour and eventually it just returns to the main menu, and doesn't flash it... i'm a bit lost on this.... any ideas?
Must be a bad download, try downloading a new one.

well thats what I thought, so i tried the 99, 100, and 101 nightly, and no luck with any of them, the md5 check is ok too... so confused with this one!
hi guys, finally managed to sort this issue, turns out my SD card was on its way out, it still worked, but i was trying to copy the update off it, and it gave me a cyclic error, so changed the card, and now I am running Jelly bean
I do have just 1 more question tho, I installed the GAPPS, however it did not install google maps for me... is this normal? also when i try install maps manually, it tells me its not available for my country :S but i have it on my phone, and had it on my xoom before.... any ideas on this one?
BTW i live in malta

Wifi not working

Ok so the problem i am having is i am unable to get wifi to work without the phone saying error next to wifi. My One S has the lastest radio and HBOOT 1.06. So i understand that i do not need to flash the boot.img from fastboot, but i still do to make sure that it is flashing ok. That does not fix the problem. I have even used the stock T-MO nanodroid to go back to stock rom and i still flash the boot.img file from fastboot still not wifi. Everything on the phone works fine but wifi. After the phone boots up wifi is already on and it does scan and see networks. When i try to connect to one it doesn't connect, if i toggle wifi off and turn it back on again it gives me a error when turning wifi on. Only thing i am wondering is, i do not have a SIM CARD in the phone right now since i do not have a micro sim right now. Does the phone need a SIM CARD in it for wifi to work. I spent 3 hours last night flashing different roms and boot.imgs trying to get wifi to work. All with errors still. Anything ideas right now would be great.
edit: forgot to add when i flash the boot.img in fastboot i always get a finished with no errors as if the boot.img is flashing fine.
wifi problem
I just pulled my sim from my One s and found i had no problem with the wifi connection. What kind of error is it, do you have any code?
No code. If I do a full wipe the wifi scans for a network sees them but does not connect. Then it will turn off on its own and just say error next to the on and off button. It does it with every rom and kernel combo I have tried. Even going to back to the full stock rom it does it. I know the kernel is flashing since it shows the right kernel under about.

i've encountered the same issue, but only when i flashed an overclocked kernel. and when i flashed the kernel back the error went away. have you tried unrooting?
I was looking for a full stock unrooted rom and but couldn't find anything other then a nanodroid of stock rooted. I was thinking of just flashing the ruu and seeing if that fixes it. Not sure at this point because I have tried every kernel and rom all which do not work so far. I have also formated everything thinking maybe something was left behind no go as well. I know wifi works since I used the phone for a few days before I Dev unlocked it and rooted it. I also setup the phone on wifi with no sim card when I pulled it out of the box at the start. Something happen after the unlock and rooting part. Could updating the hboot help at all.

I fixed it. I flashed the TMO 1.84 RUU and wifi is working again. It updated the HBOOT to 1.09 and everything is stock with working wifi. I am starting all over to see if i can get it working with a rom as well now.

Wifi Issue

Hello, recently I got my HOX (AT&T version). Obviously, the first thing I did was rooting it (And yes, I'm pretty sure that I did it correctly, I rooted it, unlocked the bootloader, rooted it again, S-OFF it and updated the HBOOT to 2.14 in order to install CM 11). The first rom I installed was the official CM11 and the wifi issue started, I thought that it might have been a bug because it was a nightly (despite the fact that it was the latest nightly). I tried to fix it by installing another rom (PAC rom), and the issue was still there.
After searching for solutions, I tried everything I could: I did a factory reset (both in the ROM and in the recovery mode), I formatted the internal memory, I installed the latest nightly, the official release, I flashed the boot.img using fastboot, I erased the files in /data/wifi folder. But none of this solutions worked.
Here's exactly what happens: I flash the rom and the gapps, then I reboot the phone. Once it boots, I choose the language and I get the google account screen (The one that asks if you want to use an existing account or if you want to create a new account). Before it allows me to choose anything, it goes to another screen that says "To see available networks, turn your wifi on" for about 2 seconds, then it says "Turning wifi on" and nothing ever happens, no matter how many hours I wait, no matter how many times I reboot the phone, it always says the same thing.
I went back to JellyBean for a while and everything worked fine, now that I saw a thread in which an user posted a CM12 build. I did everything again and flashed the ROM, and I still got the same problem.
Please help.
PS: Sorry if I made a lot of grammar mistakes, English is not my main language.
Have you tried running an RUU?
Transmitted via Bacon
I solved it, I was searching how to update the RUU and I read that some ROMs have mobile data/wifi issues if your Hboot wasn't at least 2.15, and I had 2.14.
Anyways, thanks for the help.

xTraSmooth | No softkeys, sim card, top bar, wifi or anything

So i was using elixir for a while and it was getting buggy and slow and i haven't seen that much support from the developer so i decided to switch to xTraSmooth
Upon loading the rom up i decided i wanted a fresh slate and none off the apps or app data from previous roms
So i (Dont put the rom.zip back onto the phone) and wipe everything. After that i had no usb access. So i fiddled around with uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers until sideload would work
i sideloaded the rom and booted into it. First red flag was that i had no sim card. After i went through the welcome screen i noticed i had no soft keys, no top bar, no simcard, no wifi, no nothing.
I looked into the settings>about phone and noticed i have no baseband version so i think there is no radio?
EDIT: I had usb access after so i loaded the rom normally and flashed the zip. Same result.
If anyone could tell me whats wrong and help me get a clean xTraSmooth version on my phone that would be very much appreciated
Thank you for the help!
No? No one knows anything?
Try to flash again and also flash the radio. ZIP is with the folders of the developer of this rom.. That might help.

No SIM card issue after wrong GPS fix flash

Hi everyone!
I've made a big mess with my OPO... I try to explain:
1. I was running last euphoria build with CAF kernel once I discovered that "only GPS" mode was not working. (After a lot of googling now I understand that is a common OPO problem...)
2. I found a GPS fix from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/lollipop-5-0-x-euphoria-os-t3016005/page142
and I didn't notice that was for MotoG before flash it! Damn!
After flashing that fix my SIM function completly brokes, no carrier, no signal, no possibilities to set up the apn... Nothing at all...
3. Wiped system, data, cache and dalvin cache and than flashed last cm 12 (internal data not touched). No SIM function...
4. Wiped all again and flashed last cm 12 with CAF kernel (because I found it more stable than others) and than flashed modem firmware for OPO from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...dio-updated-modem-radio-files-oxygen-t3072516
5. Results: no SIM function again...
I don't know what to do right now guys... Please help me, currently I have a phone with no phone capabilities
Thanks!!!!

You should flash your stock ROM do you can have a clean device again.. I'm probably sure that this would do the trick
Try to unzip the wrong GPSFix and read the script to see what it changes.
Thanks for the suggestions guys, right now I'm in vacation out of my country, so this is why I notice that without internet connection my GPS doesn't work and I've done this kind of mess trying to fix the problem.
l'll update you when I came back at home and I'll have a PC to better investigate the matter.
Happy new year!!!!
Bello Guys!
Just to let you know: as suggested, my problem is gone by flashing oxygen!
Than I've flashed my preferred ROM.
Thanks again!!
