Kurio 10s need original ROM - General Questions and Answers

I am in need of an original (or even just a still functioning) copy of a Kurio 10s Rom/Firmware. I had a jailbroken Kurio for a few months, but made the mistake of downloading a performance tweaking app from google play. It installed a samsung galaxy rom and totally crashes the Kurio over and over again. I tried the 'restore previous settings' through the app itself with no luck. I also tried factory reset, but still nothing.
I fear without a copy of the original rom, it's nothing more than a paperweight. Kinda defeats the purpose of a Christmas present if you break it. x_x
Any help and or suggestions would be much appreciated!

I usually hate to do this, but I desperately need some assistance... so...
bump >_<

Did you locate a ROM or new image. I have the exact same problem with my Kurio 10S.

[Q] Clockwork Recovery problem

First.. I want to say hello and that i've been reading around these forums for quite a while since I got my Droid about a year ago. I haven't posted anything till now.. but that's only because everyone else usually get's the answers typed faster than me. lol
On to the problem... I think I screwed up. I JUST bought this thing today. I got a little too excited about getting this tablet rooted and might have jumped the gun a little. I used the apk that has been around to root. No problems there. I got ROM Manager loaded... and I ended up flashing the newest recovery from there before realizing that everyone else says to use something else.
So... at this point, i'm unable to reboot into recovery at all. It starts up, acts like it's about to, and then just reboots again into the OS instead. Is there a way to fix this and get it on the correct recovery image or have I totally screwed myself over? Maybe through ADB? I can only tolerate this horrid TnT OS for so long. Took me 20 minutes to get it to update without a FC... Browser, weather, calendar, and a bunch of other stuff FC on me when I tried starting.. Fortunately, those issues are less frequent with the update, but still not working keeping.
I need some "stock(CyanogenMod)" Froyo goodness.. lol I can't have my year and a half old phone outclass this tablet for too long. If anyone can offer any help on this, I would greatly appreciate it.
The good news is you are still booting into the OS, so I doubt you've screwed anything up too bad. Most likely Clockwork Mod just never flashed so you are still running with the gimpy stock recovery and it's puking on the update.zip file you have on your internal sd card for some reason.
First suggestion is get a copy of Clockwork Mod 0.8 and try installing it. The instructions here are geared toward installing from an external from an external MicroSD card: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245 I am not certain why they say that's the only way to do it, since I never did it that way.
I just downloaded this: http://www.mediafire.com/?dvleg4oatkfxm7w and stuck the update.zip and recovery folder into my /sdcard directory, then turned my tablet off, then held down Vol+ and turned it back on. Clockwork Mod should install itself and boots into Clockwork Mod, and that was that.
I never used ROM Manager at all on my G Tablet, so I can't speak to doing anything that way, but I would stick with the tried and true methods at least until you have Clockwork Mod running.
If that fails and you really can't get any recovery working, maybe something did get botched and you might need to use nvflash to fix it, but I doubt it.
Once you get Clockwork Mod running properly, just copy over the update.zip for TNT Lite or Vegan ROM, flash, and wipe data, then you should be good to go.
Worked perfectly and entirely from the tablet! I installed CM6.1 and I'm a bit upset at the lack way it looks, but then, its packed for smaller screens, so I understand. Thank you for the quick reply. I'm off to try TnT Lite now.

[Q] LG E720b-Boot from SD?

Hello everyone!
Before you start raging about how i should post on my E720B's forum, have a look at below.
LG E720B, out of warranty, rooted, and broken. the original launcher was deleted, someone tried to reset my phone and it can't launch, and there is no way to acces ROM. the android based challenge will be that I either need another way of doing this or I need to boot a ROM image from my SD card. since the phone's version of android is up to date, doing a software update to reset and restore won't work.
Thanks to whoever solves this.

Goophone Y5 Android 4.1.5
Hi guys,
It's my first post here. I ordered a Goophone Y5 from androidforcheap last December 26th, and just received the unit last January 7. I went on to root it right away, trying to follow instructions I found on youtube. Once rooted, I tried to flash the phone with WhiteTiger's V3 ROM, but the Flash Tool always says Incorrect Scatter Format. Thinking that I could just copy and paste all apps, I went on and moved all apps from WhiteTiger's ROM to my Apps folder using ES File Explorer. To make the story short, this proved to be a wrong move as I think most apps were overwritten with WhiteTiger's ROM apps. As such, everytime I reboot the phone, Superuser, along with some other apps like igallery and world clock crash and do not work. I have to re-install all these crashed apps using ES File Explorer everytime. Running in to this trouble, that's the only time I though of running an Antutu test. This is also the only time that I find out that the phone was running on Android 4.1.5.
Anyway, basically, my question is, could there be a way to return the phone back to original settings and apps? I tried the reset option on the phone's General Settings, but it never got back to the state it was in when I first got it.
I hope you guys can help me so I would not have wasted money on this phone. I know it was also a wrong move to get too excited about installing apps without really researching first.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit:
Has anyone bought a Goophone Y5 between December 2012 to January 2013? Does your version have Android 4.1.5? Could you please send me stock apps for this? Thanks!
I got googleplay working
Hi!
There is a way to get playstore working.
To get this working you will need some files to be replaced with the ones that are present on the phone.
First you will need to root your phone! There is a post on XDA giving instructions how to update the phone with the last firmware:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1729056
After you flash the phone with the last firmware it will be already rooted.
To get the Playstore working you will need to copy some apk's to /system/apps/.
To copy this files into the folder you will need a file explorer (ES File Manager) for example.
Some of the apk's are:
Vending.apk
Googlesync.apk
and some more.
I've a goophone y5 bought on thecheapchoice.com. They have good prices and a very good service.
My goophone didn't have PlayStore and some apps were in chinese. I've edited some apk's and i got everything working.
I recommend this phone to everyone who wants an iphone styled phone running android software.
It is a fast phone with a good camera, the gps works well as the wifi. The retina screen got me amazed by its quality. This is not a cheap clone as we see in other places. It is very well made and have exactly the same structure, screen and battery as the iphone 4s. They are so equal that you can replace goophone parts with an original iphone 4s.
I'll try to upload all the files you need into this post today.
Regards,

Note 10.1 s pen not working at all

Hey guys, been a long time lurker here and just encountered my first issue, so made an account to hopefully get some advice.
I received the note 10.1 8010 (UK) as a gift for Christmas. I was disappointed to see it was running 4.0, when devices like the Nexus 7 are already on 4.2. And Germany had the 4.1 update for over a month. Samsung as always refuse to give a solid answer.
I followed a guide to install the German 4.1.1 update. I first installed the German version of ICS via Odin. I then applied the update.zip from here:
HTML:
d-h.st/lLB
Prior to this, I rooted the device, but I believe the above process removed the root anyway.
After my device rebooted, the S Pen isn't working at all. It recognises when I take the pen out, but I cannot use it. It doesn't do a thing. I've read about 1,000 forum threads and cannot find an answer, as to how I can get it working again.
I tried deleting cache and user data, then reapplying the update.zip to no avail.
When I boot up in to recovery mode, it does come up with a message about CSC and then the little drop falls over and I have the usual options.
Any idea what I need to do, to get my S Pen working again? Or what I've done wrong?
Many thanks
This is how I rooted the device.
HTML:
rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-note-10-1-root/how-to-root-galaxy-note-10-1-easiest-methodcwmmethod-2/
I have a feeling this is the "root" of the issue. I'm not sure how to remove it.
I know previously I wasn't able to change my CSC via CSC switcher, but I am now.
So I guess installing the German ICS and then update.zip, hasn't completely undone whatever rooting it above did.
Removed the custom recovery and the pen started working again. At this point I was back on ICS, trying to see whether JB was the issue.
Now update.zip will not apply, despite the fact I'm on the German ICS stock. I get an error status 7 in package.zip.
This is the worst experience I've ever had, with any device in my life.
If this wasn't a present I'd have smashed it in to tiny pieces. I will never buy a non Nexus device ever again.
I know this may seem trivial, but when I'm running 4.2 on all other devices, I don't want to be stuck on 4.0 with my brand new tablet.
Samsung have really put me off ever buying their devices in the future.

This a pretty bummer situation. Sorry you're dealing with it.
I find this interesting, as I followed the exact same procedure to root as you. I haven't experienced any pen issues though.
Could it be the 4.1 you flashed?
This is one of my fears too, so I really hope this can be solved.
I finally managed it.
I downloaded a different German ICS from a different guide and this time it worked no problems.
The one that worked, had a file name: N8010XXALI3_N8010OXAALI3_DBT
Update.zip worked first time after I installed the above ICS.
Hope that helps.

[Q] HELP - Nexus 7 & Beats

okay, where to start.
I've a Nexus 7, and im running P.A 2.54, with twrp.
i got an article from one of my news apps about getting better volume for my nex 7 BeatsLouder, followed the link and downloaded, didn't do any information gathering and consequently i believe i've flashed the beatslouder for android 4.2 it was BeatsLouder v3b8 i believe.
Either way now, my tablet just hangs at the P.A splash screen/boot logo.
needless to say, with my lack of forward planning into researching what i was flashing i didnt make a back up either..
Are there any solutions that don't even a fresh wipe?
edit: so i had a back up in twrp, when i had the forethought to do a backup prior to installing something unknown, however i'm not certain if the back up is of data or system files or both, anyway to find out? the restoring of the back up seemed to happen almost instantaneously, making me think it didnt work?
oh, also i made a backup of everything (in its current broken state) in the hopes i might be able to recover my data?
would love some responses, anything to get the ball rolling
Try dirty flash your ROM then gapps in recovery again. No wipe needed.
